Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Fantastical Resort

Just returned from an amazing week at the Majestic Mirage Resort in Punta Cana...we were there to celebrate a wedding made magical by this resort and all the people involved. The entire resort is a fantasy land with two wedding gazibos for use by guests, not to mention numerous pools and a fabulous beach to relax on. Rooms were excellent and the entire staff at this is resort is on call for whatever is needed and they are happiest staff I have encountered. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing Resorts

We had a wonderful time, everybody was friendly and helpful, the food was great. The resort grounds and the beach are beautiful. Our room was nice and spacious and clean, had a view facing the pool. We stayed at the Majestic Colonial Club it was quite, and worth the extra $$. Overall I would certainly recommend this place to everybody.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Feb 12 - 19 - Swim Out Room

This was our first all inclusvie vacation (in the past we have Cruised). Do to the fact that we arrived late (due to flight delays) we ended up getting bumped from our room (it was obvious as they used white out and wrote in the new room number). The frist room we stayed in (Rm 4101) had NO VIEW of the pool and the right beside a walk through to another building. I complained and we were moved to Building 1 and a much nicer room (RM 1102). That room had the extras that the first one was mi [... read more]ssing (ie, umbrella, house coats, welcome letter with % of spa services). The cleaing staff were friendly and very helpful. We didn't like the way the sales for excursions and the night of crafts were done. We could not walk 5 steps without someone trying to sell us something I would have thought the resort would not allow that type of pressure (very similar to crusie excursions...once you pass the cruise port the Islanders beg you to buy something). The food was OK, really didn't have a lot of variety for myself (I have a peanut allergy) for breakfast or lunch. Dinners I had more options. I should have been informed that I needed to see the main desk to have a letter written up to explain my allergy which I would then show to the waite staff and managers. Once I got that it became very easy. This letter should have been given to me prior to arriving at the resort. We felt very safe while on the property.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Incredible resort, amazing staff!

The hotel itself was beyond gorgeous and luxurious, the rooms were stunning and always kept clean. I was married on February 13th, 2017 at this resort and the wedding staff made our day so special. They went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly. All bartenders and waiting staff were very friendly. I have nothing bad to say, our stay was a dream

I enjoyed our stay at the resort The pools were amazing stretching from front to back of the grounds Cabanas and lounge chairs easily accessible Plus an amazing beach The staff was super friendly and assisted with anything you needed The wait staff was amazing always eager to bring you your favorite drink and new ones to try The cleaning girls were amazing always leaving towel art And always restocking our fridge with what we asked for I would definitely recommend this resort to m [... read more]y friends and family And hopefully resist in the future 💖

The Level at Melia Caribe: melia caribe - the level - once we they got it right we had a great time!

We had some room issues. had to keep coming back and getting it fixed. two couples far apart in wrong section. 24hrs to fix it. food great. people very nice. resort clean and warm environment. we recommend it!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Dreams Punta Cana

Dreams Punta Cana didn't disappoint us. The lush gardens, the pink flamingos, the beautiful peacocks were a hit. The grounds are meticulous. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and runs the length of the resort to the beach. The waters however is very rough due to its location and not recommended for swimming. The food was excellent and the service was also great. We had booked an excursion from Ottawa for a Catamaran ride to Catalina Island for Wednesday Feb. 15. The agent was not there on M [... read more]onday when we saw our Sunwing agent so we went the next day only to be told that the trip for the Wednesday for which we had a confirmed booking was full. We agreed to go Friday. Our paperwork I dictated that the bus left between 7:45 and 9:00. Thursday morning we got a call in our room while getting dressed that the bus was there at 6:45. The caller didn't speak English so he hung up and had the hotel call. The hotel asked them to wait for 10 minutes so we ran to the front and th bus was gone. Needless to say we weren't too pleased. Following a lot of stress and anxiety they finally got us on for Saturday. It was extremely stressful to have to go through all of this when we had what we had and the paperwork indicated booked and confirmed. Had they had place for Saturday we would have been out over 500.00 for the wrong information we received from the tour booking agency.

This resort was fit for royalty - very clean - well maintained staff very attentive Overall a great place to vacation. as a non drinker I think all-inclusive packages should accommodate this group or individuals

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Wonderful experience!

Our recent visit to the Majesic Mirage was amazing. The food and drinks were fantastic, the resort was beautiful and the staff go out of their way every day to make sure things are running smoothly. There was issues with drainage around the property that we noticed but they were busy repairing it right away. Would definitely go back again.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Pleasantly surprised

We stayed at this resort fromFeb 12th to Feb 19th 2017 and had a wonderful time. The room we stayed in needed updating but was adequate enough for us. We stayed in building 12 which was close to the main buffet and lobby. The view from our second floor balcony was beautiful as there are very mature plants and trees on the grounds as well as many beautiful birds to watch. The dining experiences at all 3 a la carte restaurants were beyond our expectations. Service was wonderful and so was the food [... read more]. We were also pleasantly surprised at how good the food was at the main buffet. There was a good variety of dishes to chose from every day. The service however was hit and miss which was not a big deal once we learned we could just get our own coffee. There is,also a wide variety of bar drinks to choose from and most were mixed well. We stuck to those as the wine was very mediocre. You can purchase bottles of different wine which might be better but opted not to. The beach is great for long walks as it is powdery white sand and the water is turquoise blue and awesome for swimming. The only problem we encountered was that last Friday was the beginning of reading week and a fairly large group of university students ended up at the resort. We had absolutely no problem that except that we were on the receiving end of many many " sorry wrong room" knocks at all hours of the day and night and the noise level in the wee hours was a a bit much. Other than that the trip was excellent and I would definitely go back again. It was definitely good value for the money

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Mirage experience

My impressions are first the good the resort is fabulous looking and the rooms are A-1. The grounds are in the early stages but well kept. Food was very good except the desserts need work very small portions. Very high end. Now the bad which there should be zero for a high end hotel but...we were without any hot water one night so no jacuzzi and the following three days there was just enough hot water when it was on full. There wasn't enough bartenders had to wait for a drink what I think was [... read more] too long. Ten to fifteen minutes. Also a lot of mosquitoes to deal with sitting in our cabana. Also my room key did not work three times and was a good walk to get it working at the resource center. I would recommend this hotel only if they had the money. Last thing my daughter was married there and was exceptional.

TRS Turquesa: A week in Paradise at the Royal Suites Turquesa by Palldium

Our vacation got off to a slow start as our Transat flight was delayed for several hours due to a mechanical issue with the plane. We were however pleasantly surprised on our arrival with our Junior Deluxe Suite at the Royal Suites Turquesa by Palladium. The room was spacious, clean and elegant. The room was even nicer than the photos showed. The rooms however are showing age, and we experienced several problems with our first room and had to request a different room. On our first night there, I [... read more] got an electric shock from touching the vanity mirror which had a light built into it. The mirror was right beside the shower which had a door that wasn't watertight, so water would puddle on the marble floor with every shower. Had I been standing in water at the time of the shock, I might not be here typing this as it was 120v shock. The thermostat for the AC was also not working so it was either bitterly cold in the room or hot and humid if we shut if down. When we did shut it down, the condensation built up in the ceiling tiles and would later drip down into the room. The locking mechanism in the room safe was also finicky and sometimes the bolts would not slide, and might take 10 or 15 tries to get the safe locked. The DVD player also didn't work and although they promised a supply of DVD movies at the Concierge's desk for our use, there weren't any available until our 3rd day, which was when we discovered the DVD player didn't work anyway. After 3 days of working with the concierge and maintenance, without success, we asked for a new room and they did find us one and actually upgraded us into an even larger room. All of the staff were amazing. The butlers assigned to our Villas only work from 7am until 11pm but we arrived after 2am and our butler (Felix) was still there waiting for us and helped us to our room in Villa 54. The waiters and waitresses were amazing, friendly and although we only did a bit of tipping at this All inclusive resort, none of them held there hand out or lingered in the hope of getting a tip. The staff was plentiful and all were genuinely pleased to assist and make our stay pleasant. Even the bartending service on the beach was prompt and top notch. There are lots of theme restaurants like the Bohio Seafood restaurant, the Rodiziio which is Brazilian, Italian etc but our favorite was the Japanese restaurant. It was a Hitachi restaurant and our Chef "Andy" put on a wonderful show for us. There was daily security on the beach however I did not see any security on the beach after dark. We spent most our day either at the beach or the swim up bar and found the bartenders "Yanet, Cristian and Michael" were amazing. They were so friendly, polite and entertaining and made amazing cocktails. I would definitely go back to this resort. I would rate it overall as a 4 1/2. Although there were a lot of problems with our initial room, it didn't detract from our vacation as all of the staff were very accommodating and determined to make things right. One concern I have and want to send the flag out to future travelers to this Palladium resort is to use caution when purchasing bottles of their Mama Juana liquor. It's a delicious honey and rum drink and we bought a couple of bottles of it to bring home. The bottle cap has a straw hat glued over it which made it a perfect disguise to hide the fact that our bottles had been tampered with. All of our seals had been broken, the contents removed and refilled with water. These bottles can be purchased anywhere in the Dominican. I've seen them at the beach front gift shops and on our off-resort excursion but I purchased my bottle of Mama Juana rum from the gift shop in the "Supermarket" located right in our resort. So, heads up for any missing seal rings on the bottle caps. Otherwise, it was an amazing resort, the weather from Feb 4 to 11th was perfect with only a bit of rain during a couple of nights but sunny each and every day.

Riu Bambu: RIU Bambu Febuary 2017

Stayed at the RIU Bambu February 2nd - 9th. Weather was perfect. Beach beautiful as always. Great for swimming, walking or just people watching. Stayed in a renovated room. Small but all we needed as we dont go south to sit in our room. Ate at the four Ala Cartes. Steak house was the best. Steak, Salmon and Ribs were all very good. Asian restaurant was buffet style and the food was good. Service a little slow. Italian restaurant was good except the Chicken. It needed some sauce or some [... read more]thing as it was very dry. Mexican was also buffet style and very good. Nice they now have three pools with one party one and two quieter ones. Lots of kids though. Entertainment during the day was fun. Night shows were also ok. Nice to sit outside and enjoy a drink or two after dinner with some music going on. All in all a fun week. Reno's coming May 1st will only serve to improve this section of the resort.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Did not meet our expectations

1) The dining was a C+ at best. Extremely bland food. Food was often not kept at a proper serving temp. Not the type of buffet one would expect at such a large resort. Poor selection! 2) Beach was extremely small for the size of the resort. Limited swimming area. I do understand due to the rocky beach but none the less too small. 3) staff friendliness was a hit or miss. Some staff were extremely friendly while other appeared as though you were interrupting their day. 4) entertainment was at  [... read more]a high school play level at best. ( all thought they did try)😔 5) worst of all was the constant harassment while trying to relax on the beach from people trying to sell jewelry, to sunglasses, day trips, pics with parrots and t shirts. Extremely annoying when trying to relax with the family. On a positive there were the few select staff that made up for it and the facilities were clean🌴

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Lots of kids

The hotel grounds were very well manicured and although our room was older, it was fairly clean. The people were very nice although if you have a problem, it seems they will tell you anything you want to hear. We liked the beach....it was very nice. Great for long walks and splashing in the water. Thee were some rocks but we found a very nice spot just a little further west along the beach. The pool was situated near the beach and I found that quite nice. There were shows every night but [... read more] there were lots of kids everywhere. I would recommend this hotel if you want to have a family vacation but for adults, I would say that you can find something more accommodating somewhere else.... The food was not bad, but if you wanted to book one of the a la carte restaurants, you might be out of luck or have to eat at 9 o'clock.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Wedding trip

The hotel appears to have been rushed to open and much of the overall appearance of the hotel suffered because of that. The tile work in the washrooms was particularly bad. It rained for a few days of our week so flooding around the pool area and around the shrubbery was bad. It meant that there were always workers there trying to drill and drain the area. The grounds didn't feel lush or tropical due to the small plants which I understand will take time to mature but it didn't give it a 'Car [... read more]ibbean feel' to the property and thus it did not feel like a 5 star property at all. The grounds at the Colonial and Elegance were much nicer. Also, I felt they didn't even have half the staff needed to keep things moving at the bars and restaurants which meant long waiting times.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good resort

We enjoyed our week at the Grand Bahia Príncipe Punta Cana. The resort could use some updating, which only stands out because of the brand new Fantasia beside it and the adults only Ambar on the other side. The beach is beautiful, the many pools were never crowded. The food was great, however we were only able to get one a la carte reservation, which was disappointing. They only had times after 9:30 pm, and that doesn't work with our kids. I will also mention the bugs, there were tons of mosquitos in our room. They offered to fumigate, but we didn't want to spray the room with something we weren't sure of. They also had "no seeums" (not sure if that's a proper name) and we came home with a ton of itchy bug bites. We did have some rain, so that may have made the bugs worse. All in all it was a good resort and I would recommend as long as you brought bug spray or aren't bothered by mosquitos😊

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Beautiful, Cozy Resort

This resort is so beautiful with all its natural vegetation, example: palm trees, Bambo trees, flowers and very well kept gardens and greeny. The staff were outstanding with there serves and always with a smile. Everyone was very hard working and always willing to help, this did not go in noticed and thank you for making our stay amazing. People the eroded part of the beach is dead centre to the resort, if you go right or left of the eroded part you will find very comfortable, relaxing and beautiful. There is nothing you can you about the force of Mother Nature except rebuild which is what they are doing. My only negative review would be the no reservations for the al a chart restaurants, they have a first come first based. This does not work plan and simple. When you are operating a full capacity and 100 people show up to the same restaurant and you have seating only for 50 people there is a problem. Beside that I loved everything else about the resort. Rooms are modern, simple and very clean. Wait staff are there to meet your every need. Lobby staff will go out of their to help you find an answer and any question you might have. The Explorers Club has amazing child care so you can enjoy some one on one with your spouse. Thank you again to everyone at the Sunscape Bavaro Beach Resort for making our vacation so pleasant :)

Blau Natura Park Resort: Beautiful Resort

This resort was so beautiful and tranquil. In a tropical atmosphere with different types of birds walking around was amazing. My favorite experience there was a beautiful dinner on the beach from Transat , thank you Transat this was a memory ill keep in my heart forever. The service was excellent and became forever friends ..all will be missed..great service , great food . An experience and memories forever. Thank you ♡ Stephanie & Darrin Land

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Got sick

Was sick for 4 days with salmonella. Went to the hospital in Punta Cana. There were a lot of people at this resort that had stomach issues. Had to seek medical attention when I got home. I have never been this sick in my life.
