Valentin Perla Blanca: Beach and staff are absolutely amazing.

The beach, staff and resort were absolutely amazing. The food and hygiene definitely needed some work. I was there with a group of five from February 8 to February 15th. Three out of the five of us We're extremely sick. There were times when there was no soap or toilet paper in the main washrooms. I could deal with running out of bread, cheese etc however, hygiene is a necessity.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Third time

The was at full capacity for the first time the staff is doing great the. The main buffet is busy but have patience we were on holidays. The towels were not changed enough but it’s not the resorts fault it the Cuban system. Met a lot of great friends ( workers ) will return

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Another pleasant visit

We recently returned from our third visit to PRO in six years, and in most respects this lovely resort still delivers a very satisfactory tropical vacation. The beach and it’s healthy coral reef, although altered frequently by tropical storms, remain the main attraction for us along with the beautiful grounds and low-rise architecture that fits well into its national park setting. Staff also continue to be very friendly and approachable. So if food is not a priority, we continue to recommend this resort.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Nice resort

Average hotel. Rooms average, clean. Restaurants very good. The buffet was good but meals were repetitious. Beach and pool were beautiful and clean. The drinks at the outside bars were not very good, but hotel drinks were very tastey. Was good place to stay for the value

Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful beach, but the food is lacking.

As stated above. The beach is spectacular and I spent a lot of time on the beach. That part of the resort scores the highest marks. Clear blue water and smooth sand heading into the water. The resort is starting to show some age. Could be due to the hurricane. Some tiles on the front entrance are chipped off. In my room there were signs of water damage. I saw some paint start to bubble due to water damage. My room felt damp all the time. A lot of food was missing. Never saw a ban [... read more]ana or fench fries of any kind. There was mashed potato that was obviously from powder. At the snack bar there was no pizza or bread one day. The beef is very tough. Not the highest grade of beef. Needless to say I ate a lot of grilled chicken breast meat. Would give this resort 3.5/5. The people working there try their best everyday. You will feel taken care of.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Family resort.

We were received well on arrival and quickly settled into our room. The various amenities were located well within walking distance. We felt comfortable in room, well supplied with drinks but during buffet time we feel buffet pick up area was not effectively organized as lot of people had to wait long time to pick up their choices. Pool and beach area were well kept but need shower and toilet facilities near by for able, disable and small people. Playa Vista Azul: The resort wasn’t the greatest!!

I was NOT to pleased with the food at all. I got very sick and throw up 4 of 7 days at the resort. I don’t know if it was the food or drinks. I am Not a heavy alcohol drinker, by any means. But when whenever I would have a tropical drink, I would get sick to my stomach. It didn’t matter what the drink was. Personally, I didn’t have a problem with our maid, she was very helpful to any of our needs, but my sister in law never had clean towels or had the sheets changed. The resort would  [... read more]always run out of clean glasses and plates. Very poor food selection. We didn’t have any hot water when we arrived at the resort,. Yes the problem was rectified, but two days before leaving we had the same problem. The resort never had any clean pool towels. We used the same towel for almost 6 straight days. Besides all we went through, the only best thing about the resort, was the beautiful beach and weather...thank God for that. I would NOT ever return to this resort nor recommend it to friends and family. I love Cuba and would return to it, but not to stay at Ocean Vista Azul.

Hotel Mojito: friendly people, very dated resort

2/3 of resort closed from hurricane damage several years ago...resort consists of a central core restored to a minimum acceptable standard. food okay, service when required was excellent. standard rooms are not well appointed.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Nice resort

Needs some renovations but great layout and easy to find your way around. Friendly staff but some language barriers. 2 a la carte restaurants wear ok. Very nice beach and pool is huge. Definitely bring insect repellent

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Pros & cons

I consider myself fairly low maintenance & reasonable, but there were many basic needs that weren’t met at this resort. Ex: we had to ask for toilet paper several times (3 of us and a toddler) never had towels, at times we were left with hand towels as full towels. Shower leaked on two sides every shower & our last 2 days we had freezing dribbles coming out. Food was quite bland which we expected, but by day 4 it was literally just rice, pasta, breads desserts and chunks of random meat. Gr [... read more]ounds were nice, walk to beach was a little far when you have children but the beach itself was amazing, lots of coverage if you want, plenty of chairs, it was quite windy (I’m assuming just the time of year). Bar is far from the beach, you could definitely finish your drink before even getting back to your spot. Many pools, beautifully kept, splash pad was actually about a foot of water so toddler couldn’t run free. Staff was friendly & love children.

Playa Pesquero: Best resort in cuba

Have been to cuba many times over the last 30 years for some reason have not been here before big mistake was the best resort for food entertainment clean safe fun entertainment and thanks to my new country band friends who played from kingston ontario

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

We thought this resort rated fairly well, however there are some areas that require attention. Mostly public washrooms on the site ie: pools, theatre. The mens washroom at the pool was closed the entire week we were there, forcing men to use the womens washroom. Lack of toilet paper at all public washrooms. A little extra care and attention to this would go a long way and would not be difficult to fix. Rooms were clean but dated, and could use some TLC. Dining was good, food was average, however, one must keep in mind the country you are in and the different methods a food prep. Very disappointed that, despite several reminders, we were forgotten on checkout morning and were left scambling at 6am to get our luggage to Grand Memories to meet the airport bus. Overall rated at 7 of 10

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Feb 6

Too many things to list, first AC was cool but didn't draw out the humidity at all, had to iron my clothes. Bathrooms at the beach I wouldn't send a homeless person into, urinals full and spilling over all the time. Wooden walkway to the beach just unsafe to use. No evening lighting, broken or missing bulbs. Food cooked at the beach BBQ was always burned, always!!¡!!!!!!!

Melia Cayo Coco: Wonderful Resort

We were at this resort from Feb 8 to Feb 15th. The resort was awesome, the beach was fantastic and the food delicious. Definitely would recommend this resort to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation. Grounds were very well maintained.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Resort in Cuba

We had a great stay in February of 2020. The hotel is well put together, the staff are lovely, and the food is great for Cuba. The beach is also perfect. There is a lot of room in shady spots, and on the one day it was a bit busier, the staff put out more umbrellas for guests. The beach restaurant had a good selection of food for lunch, and the staff were always great. The rooms were clean and well furnished, though water pressure lacked a bit in our shower. We particularly enjoyed the Caribbean restaurant and had great service there both times we went.

Melia Marina Varadero: Disappointing resort

Hello, just sending an email about the horrible experience we had at our stay at the Melia Marina Varadero. We arrived on Feb 7 late at night due to the flight being delayed. When we woke up the next morning to go for breakfast it was terrible there were a bunch of servers standing around not one individual approached us to ask if we wanted a drink or anything so we left and went out to get our own drink outside. Very disappointed with every night with the same kind of experience. The rooms weren't cleaned properly we had no clean towels no water replenished in the room had to go down to the customer service area and ask for clean towels and water in the room. We had issues with the room card went to customer service things weren't handled properly we got sent back to the room and had to wait for someone to come and fix the door for us we waited about 25 minutes for someone to come and open the door. My boyfriend had gone downstairs to complain to the front and asked to speak to a manager because we were both fed up at this point with how things were handled and they literally did nothing for us we even told them we would pack up our stuff and go to a different hotel as how they handle situations. Alot of other people were complaining and the way they spoke and handled situations were disgusting. My boyfriend was offered from them a bottle of rum to the room the next day we had nothing. The room Stuart wasn't on top of the room cleanliness. Over all the WORSE experience definitely not a 5 star hotel. On the night before we were leaving we figured we would enjoy and make the best of what was left, we had gone for dinner no service once again, we had gone to the piano bar for drinks the line up was so long and the wait was long. We sat outside to have drinks and watch the entertainment not a single sever approached us I had to go get my own drinks in which i had to waste half the time just standing at the bar waiting to be served almost half and hour waited for drinks, they screwed up on all the drinks had people in behind the bar that had no clue what they were doing and didn't speak a word of English. The entertainment guy had come outside and sat with a couple ladies and had full service while we were sitting there and not getting any drinks. I want a reimbursement for this terrible experience and I will never go back to this resort ever again and wont recommend it to anyone to go. Very terrible service and not the rating that they say it is. If someone can please email me back with a compromise or something. I hadn't been to cuba since 2009 and this was the worse to the point I don't think I would go back there ever again. Also want to add we went to the buffet where they had made the chicken in front of you and when we took it to the table it was red blood coming out that was so discussing to see it turned us away from it and we wouldn’t touch any meat. As well as they gave us a complementary room to use after we had checked out of the hotel on Feb 14 the room was so dirty piss all over the toilet there were used towels all over the floor I had to go back to the front desk and ask them for fresh towels for the room and not to mention we only had a half an hour to use the room and we had to wait for them to bring us towels as time was wasting. I don’t think I’d ever go back to this resort after all this terrible experience. They may want to reconsider there star rating as well.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Relaxing trip.

Hotel - dated. We purchased the Upgrade room and there was NO door on the bathroom. Bathroom was open concept and where I don’t mind an open shower, the toilet area is a different story. Tip your maid and she will place beer and pop in your fridge. Toilets and bedding are not changed only hung up and made for you. By the end of the week we no longer had a bath mat. The 24 hour Snack bar was great. Hotdogs, burgers, sandwiches and always had fries. Buffet had awesome service for dinner time. Rafael and Yandy are great so if you are lucky enough to sit outside they will refill your cups and will remember you. The pasta line should be two not one. Often waited 30 minutes for pasta in a long line. The stir fry was good. Breakfast we had omelets everyday. We ate at the snack bar for lunch. We did not do any a la Carts. Pool - freezing. Coldest pool I have ever been in except in May in Canada. Seriously. But we always got a chair and didn’t have to go down to the pool to early to do it. Service at the swim up bar was good as well. Beach - after looking at everyone else’s bug bitten legs we didn’t risk a full day at the beach. We did go for long walks and the beach is beautiful. The pizza at the beach is very good. Entertainment - not the greatest. They had karaoke every night and should have kept that going longer than the hour. During the day they would do the same thing everyday and the resort was quiet by 10pm. Flight - AirTransat was great. Flew on time and arrived home early which was nice. Paid for Option Plus and in my opinion it’s worth it. No lines at the airport and food and one alcoholic drink is included. Plus you pre book your seats Tour Operator - Hola Sun. Our on resort rep Enme was wonderful and the most attentive I’ve ever had (we travel once a year and have done Sunwing and Air Transat) would book Hola sun again.

Pros-Beautiful hotel! Great staff! Amazing food! Best hotel in Cuba (love Cuba!) Cons- shortage of towel! Only able to exchange my towel once in a week(tried everyday!) the buffet has a bad layout-lines block buffet food.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful Resort

Overall this is a beautiful Resort. We enjoyed our stay and everyone was very friendly. A few recommendation would be to have some sort of food names in the buffet... sometimes I could not figure what I was looking at and just guessed at that it was with regards to meat and fish.
