Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing!
Had a great week. Resort is small so its easy to get around. Very clean. Rooms are fine. Nothing special. Beach is amazing. No trouble finding chairs. Had one pool day. Pool is small. We liked the beach better. Food is great. Mexican a la carte is great. Staff are friendly. Einer at La Marina is the man!!! He can mix a drink! We have never gone anywhere twice but we would go back here.
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great resort , but understaffed
Great clean resort, excellent rooms, pools were great, beach is one of the nicest I’ve been to. Food was good for Cuba , however very hard to get a plate of food due to the poor layout of the buffet , buffet is far too small for the amount of guests.
Muthu Playa Varadero: Amazing resort
The people working there was so wonderful and taughfull. We went in December 2019 and a month later we went back again. The staff is amazing and the grounds and rooms are clean. There is 2 restaurants and a buffet restaurant as well I was told that they will add 2 more The resort is just big enough not too small Or Not too big. The entrainment was hard to beat
Valentin Perla Blanca: Stellar Beaches and Pools
Fantastic beaches and ocean. Both pools are amazing whether you like the quiet pool or the party pool. They have great shows and 3 times a week they have a local band playing in the main lobby. The beach pretty nights were fantastic.
Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Run down resort desperate for renos
staff was very friendly and helpful, always smiling and genuine. the beach was great, quiet (no annoying music by the water) and really enjoyed the nudist side. beyond that, everything else is a bummer. many things broken in the room (outlets popping out of the wall, sink not draining, sheets with holes, moldy smell) and all around the resort (none of the fountains work, planks missing from the boardwalk, half the resort cut off with sheet metal fencing...). food was ok during lunch bbq, b [... read more]
Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Very disappointing !
We believed we were booked at Starfish TROPICAL which had amazing reviews . When we arrived, we found out that Tropical no longer existed and we were in stead staying at the original Starfish which was very run down and in ill repair . We paid extra foe an ocean view room but were told that none was available. A huge cockroach ran across my bed and the shower head fell off onto my husband’s head . Beach was gorgeous though .
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Fantastic resort
The staff were all fantastic, the grounds well cared for and the beach amazing. Not overcrowded easy to get around the resort. We felt as though our trip was important to them. Exceeded my expectations for Cuba by far. The food was not my favorite in the Caribbean, but we always found something to eat we certainly did not go hungry. I went to Cuba saying it would be a one time only trip, I would definitely return.
Gran Muthu Imperial: great value all inclusive
Comfortable rooms with simple but tasteful decor. The restaurant food is better than average for Cuba. Pool was clean and very well maintained. The vegetation at the grounds are young but well maintained. The beach was nice but some corral rocks in some sections of the water may require water shoes.
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Wonderful resort
Already recommend to 2 couples. What we like the most was the people working in the resort. They always go that extra mile to help resolve problems. That from our observation because we did not have any problems during our stay. We stay in number 60 Dyane and Michael were super professionals. We are not funs of A LA CARTE restaurants so we did not try them.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Fantastic time at the Melia Peninsula Varadero
Great place, especially our waitress at the buffet. Maria was always attentive and so sweet. Water was plentiful despite other online reviews. Rooms were good. Food was plentiful. Check in /lobby desk was frustrating, they didn't understand some of the questions and requests as well as other staff but overall we didn't have too much trouble. Customer service office and phone office were only sporadically staffed which was tested our patience but being on holidays we tried to take it all [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Fantastic time
1 thing I have to say is that the staff are the friendliest people I have ever meet. Anything you need they are more then happy to help. The weather was beautiful and our time there was amazing. Plans are already in the making for next year. See you soon Club Amigo. Julie and Simon
Gran Muthu Imperial: Very pretty and well furnished Resort
This resort is the whole package, a great beach, fantastic food, the entire resort looks amazing (well deserved of the five star title), fun and entertaining shows nightly, great pools and a great choice of excursions. I recommend going on their excursion to Playa Pilar, in my opinion the BEST beach i've ever been to in my entire life, it is nothing short of beautiful and the snorkeling there is amazing. They took us about 10-15 minutes off shore to snorkel near some ship wreckage that was full [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Good resort but hot water issues
This resort is very large - a bit too large for our taste but it is nice but needs some TLC. We were told the Cuban gov't has now partneured with the Melia chain of Cuban resorts. This is probably why the hot water is on timers - no hot water before 5:00 pm every day for the 2 weeks we were there - and we weren't the only ones complaining. The buffet food was mediocre. We have stayed at 13 resorts in Cuba ( including 2 Melia's in Varadero) and this is the first time we had trouble finding [... read more]
Valentin Perla Blanca: Awesome Resort
The staff were absolutely amazing! The grounds, pools and rooms very well maintained. I would recommend going with the privilege package for access to a great bar, beach area and some decent a la carte restaurants. The buffet food was mediocre, but it's Cuba and they do their very best with what is available. My only compliant is the level of smoke in main common areas. I would like to see more non-smoking areas in the main lobby area and theatre.
Iberostar Origin Tainos: Quiet resort
The resort was very clean and friendly. It was pretty quiet, not a lot going on and not very large. The rooms were alright but nothing to get excited about. In typical cuban fashion the food wasn't great. The buffet was very bland. The specialty reastraunts were decent. The pool was not very big and there was no swim up bar, and no hot tub
Playa Vista Azul: WAS OK
Rooms were nice, our maid was very warm and welcoming Lobby was very nicely laid out, great view of ocean, infinity pool was very picturesque Lobby bar was good although their tropical drinks all tasted the same Their was a maid there that was awesome, with the entertainment in the lobby she danced and what moves she had, everyone was in awe of her. Grounds were nicely kept and very clean Pool was nice size not enough sun umbrellas, the covered cabanas were very dirty and uninviting Fo [... read more]
Hotel Caracol: Great small resort
Fast check in .rooms very clean, nice layout with cosy sitting area off bedroom, bathroom updated with rain shower head, small balcony for two.bed comfortable with large pillows. Cold bar fridge .the grounds kept up and well groomed.the dining room a bit small but the food was average .service great pasta station great. The alacarts great ,the Italian the best with super service. The bars 3 all ok but lacked variety ,also ran out of mixes such as tonic water ,lemoned juice ,mint ?Ran out of hot wa [... read more]
Muthu Playa Varadero: Very Nice Ressort, Nice Pool, Nice Rooms and closer to Beach+++++
About meals: I don't eat pork and the absolute majority of meals contain Pork, even white rice and corn salad. I noticed at the BBQ where we can eat grilled fish but the person who prepares the grilling uses the same tongs to grill the pork and the fish. Which makes me can't even eat grilled fish because it is contaminated with pork. We must also leave the choice to people who do not eat pork to find what to eat. It is recommended to separate each compartment Pork-Beef-Fish-Chicken. In add [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Had a blast!
Everything was great. I had been to this resort before and it was a very pleasant surprise to find a dinner invitation under my door for returning guests. It was also my birthday and I was treated like a king.
Club Karey: You get what you pay for
This was the cheapest all inclusive available on the site. That said, lower your standards but still have a good time. Be cautious, staff can be creepy and not all rooms lock. Beach is beautiful though.
