resort was a bit dated,received calls from someone at 2:30am three times and with no reason,some of the front dest people were rude when asking questions and having to ask again because i couldnt understand them,beaches were very nice,food was pretty good. Had to request more drinking water for the room as well as bath towels. Flight coming home was delayed 8 hrs and no Air Transat reps around to assist as to when we wetre to leave the resort,us and other passengers had to figure it out,pretty [... read more] poor representation of Air Transat,will not fly them again.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Paradise for sure!

Be Live Punta Cana is a true paradise if you go with Adult Club and VIP inclusions. Lots of space at the beach....Balinese beds are amazing. Service at the bars is excellent. Very friendly staff. Good variety of food, snacks, drinks. Great entertainment. Special thanks to Perla at VIP lounge and Juan Carlos at Lobby Bar. Excellent service!

Punta Cana Princess: Excellent Resort

The hotel is beautiful, small and close to the beach, the rooms are stunning and the view in building 4 and 5 are the best! The staff are so special and go out of their way to treat you like family, that is why this was our third time back and this was our first time for two weeks to which we will do again next year. While we were there we were invited to a private dinner for repeaters where we were toasted for coming back and most of the people there have been coming back for more than 10 y [... read more]ears! I was quite impressed by how they treat every guest no matter how many times you have been there. I would like to shout out to a few of the workers there, although I can't remember all names some are; Felix at the beach who will take very good care of you, Tonny one of the entertainment staff who is one of the funniest guys I have met as well as all the girls who work with him, I know there is a guy at the pool who does the entertainment there as well I didn't get his name because we spent our time at the beach but watching him and his crew from my balcony always kept me entertained. The buffet staff will do all they can to make you happy, Raysa and the girls who seat you at the Buffett were truly wonderful, we didn't do a lot of the ala'cartes because the staff at the Buffett were so special and we all became very close to them.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: a little disappointed

I should of stayed home.-Right now im covered with about 50 some sand flea bites-very itchy, big red welts my legs are a mess, not the way I wanted to come home. The 1st 3 days no hot water-they said afterword that this happens on the 4th floor-no facecloths and the same food every day,,,,,,,

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Awesome resort!

I loved the rooms, cleanliness, swimming pool was big enough, beach was beautiful, only thing it lacked was there was no time schedule of activities throughout the resort. Live entertainment every evening at 10pm in the auditorium we're awesome. I would go back to this resort again.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Good Family Fun

This resort is situated on a beautiful clean beach, with a 1 hour & 45 minute scenic beach walk. The hotel grounds were well manicured & clean. The hotel rooms were a little dated & moderately cleaned, but okay. The restaurants were okay, but Service needing improving. Buffets were very good, & service; lots of good variety. Casino is small. Water resort was fun & had everything you'd need to relax or play for the day. Pools & all bars were very good. I would rate it a 4 out of 5. Grand Bavaro Princess: Bavaro Princess All Suites, Punta Cana

The Resort was far more than I had expected! It's huge but doesn't seem that way at all. There is a shuttle train available to take you everywhere. Amazing restaurants and bars. They can't make a margarita to save their lives though! Mojitos totally made up for it! All rooms are suites, as the name implies. They are grouped in bungalows of 8 and you rarely see your neighbours or hear them for that matter. Services were great and any reasonable request was taken care of promptly. The only shortcoming I found was the live entertainment in the evenings. The band was great but the shows were bad lip sync failures. It would have been nice to experience Dominican culture and song in the shows not Lion King and Grease. The staff are friendly and helpful and even those with broken English do their utmost to help any way they can. I will definitely return again....hopefully not as a single traveller next time. On that note, being a single lady, never once did I feel in the least nervous walking around the grounds on the paths at night. Security is visible but not in your face. All in all an excellent choice for my 10 days away from winter and snow.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Best vacation!!!

My husband and I just spent the most relaxing and the most enjoyable vacation! The Be Live Collection Punta Cana was amazing! It started with the front desk clerk Henry, then the ladies in the spa, especially Belkie. She was so sweet and professional. The entertainment team were so fun and full of energy. They made everyone feel as though they were special. They were so amazing with people especially the shy ones. The food was fantastic. If you read bad reviews.... Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Wow Wow Wow!!

Memories Splash is amazing in every aspect. The grounds are beautiful and clean, the pools have something for young and old with swim-up bars,fun play or relax in quiet. The social club was are place to dance and make friends. A la carte dining is walk-in (no reservations needed) and no line-ups. A big bonus was the Royalton resort on the beach where most of the amenities are included,theater for shows,disco, casino and shopping.Lets not forget the water park, tried all the slides and must bring [... read more] the grand kids next time.All the staff ad a smile for young and old and spoke many languages.In the 20 years travelling to the south,this place is awesome and most of all the service for everything is the BEST i have experienced. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: nice clean beautiful resort. some staff need language improvement

The main problem was the language barrier. Even the people working the front desk could not speak english. I almost felt as if the workers were having problems with management and therefore the tourists suffered. Our large group are very good tippers and on numerous occasions did not receive and thank you in any language. The resort itself was veery good, food was great. We had one problem with money missing, it was left on the dresser ( not the bed) my bad.

TRS Cap Cana Hotel: Lovely resort, more low key

This hotel is beautiful however it is not a party place. Night life is low key as there is only one bar open til 1am. 24hr room service is a bonus. Rooms not stocked with alcohol, only pop. Food was awesome, something always available to eat. Good service in restaurants. Loved the coffee bar! and nespresso machine in room. Large gorgeous shower in room. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great time

we had an excellent time at the Luxury Bahia Princpe Esmarelda. From our girl Yenny who served us at the pool our drinks she was an amazing little girl. To sexy chocolate and Pedro the dancers who were at the pool getting people upbeat about the exercises they were awesome and funny. Our room was beautiful, The maids were nice. The servers like Hulioi d Pedro and Mathies they were excellent and hardworking kids, The food was excellent. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: What a great resort in so many ways but what a disappointment in many others!

We had been to a Bahia San Juan at Puerto Plata 2 years ago and so were familiar with their general layout and operation. We had not been to Punta Cana and so decided to try the Grand Bahia Luxury Esmeralda largely on the recommendation of the travel agent we used 2 years ago. We knew the place was big but had no idea it was SO big. There are 5 hotels on the property and I was told there are over 4000 rooms. First the good parts. 1/ food was outstanding. We ate at several a la cart restau [... read more]rants and always enjoyed our meals. Big problem was in getting a time around 7 pm. Apparently one can book well ahead and for your entire week or two should you wish. This means that late comers are often out of luck. The buffet restaurants were very good and had lots of choice. The Esmeralda offers outside dining at one buffet and that was nice most of the time. We found the indoor dining often to be chilly. 2/ grounds were immaculate both in cleanliness and in landscaping. It was a treat to walk the paths and be surrounded but lovely vegetation always. 3/ building exteriors were lovely and in very good state of repair from what we saw. 4/ Fantasia was a new hotel area which caters to youngsters and it was gorgeous to walk thru at night. Some lighting engineer had done a wonderful job with the buildings being floodlite as well as coordinating lights with the fountains. 5/ pools were immaculate. They always looked and felt lovely. 6/ the help staff were almost always willing to help you with a cheerfulness that was warm and appeared genuine. 7/ the beach was fine sand and felt nice to walk on for as long as you wanted in either direction. So why did we come away disappointed? 1/ SMOKING! No matter where we went, aside from indoor dining areas there were lots of people (largely from Quebec) who smoked. With most generalizations this is not fair but it seemed that every time we turned around the smokers were speaking French. We couldn't escape the smoke on the beach while resting in the chaise loungers nor around the pools. 2/ BUSY. There were so many people who fed on to the beach area from the 5 hotels that one had trouble finding a spot unless you were prepared to go early and "reserve" a chaise by throwing your towel over it. This is a pet peeve of mine because often people will do this and not return to their chair for many hours. The lineups for lunch at the beach buffets were very large and smoking was not controlled in these areas. getting any seating was a problem and woe betide you if the folks nearby decided to light up. 3/ Entertainment....the live music offerings were done by quality singers however the seating for listening to them was limited and once again smokers made the enjoyment less. The acts that followed were done on a small stage area which didn't provide very much seating around the pool unless you were prepared to park yourself very early. The Michael Jackson concert was pretty good but the smoking got to us there too. 4/ We talked to a few other people there who like ourselves found that once you had walked the beach a bit and then lay around the pool a bit you ran out of things to do. The Bahia Village was a bit of a walk and most folk took the shuttle bus to get to it. Once you walked about looking at the typical tourist stuff there was little reason to return. There was no shuffleboard. Bocce was mentioned but we couldn't find it and we aren't really into beach volleyball in the full sun. 5/ NOISE. Our first room was an end unit which happened to be the location of the shuttle bus bringing in tourists at all hours. The first 2 nights we were awakened by these buses at 1:45 am. There were also people who thought they should have loud conversations right outside our door and they didn't take kindly to being shushed even at 2 am! We moved to another building where we encountered the same problems of loud conversations by females who had too much to drink. The noise was so bad that people in an adjoining building came out to find out the source. 6/ VIP Safari...offered by Transat Holidays. A rip off! We had taken a similar trip at P Plata and had a wonderful time. This time we were kept waiting 50 minutes before starting, there were 20 people crammed into a truck-like vehicle with poor suspension and we spent some hours bouncing over rough roads. The guide was good and had no control over the numbers (or so we were led to believe) but the experience of crowding was continued on a boat where we ate lunch. We both flet we spent a lot of time and money for relatively little.

Riu Republica: Fantastic Resort

This is an adult resort. I went there with my friend. We had a blast. The resort was very clean. The employees were extremely friendly and quick. The rooms were always stocked and cleaned. The wine could have been better but that's ok. You're still able to purchase and charge to your room. I would highly recommend the resort to anyone and would most likely return. 10 out of 10

TRS Turquesa: Disappointing

Pros: location and proximity to airport. Wide variety of a la cartes restaurants. Cons: constantly bombarded by in house vendors for massages and time shares to resort. Drivers of shuttles on resort go WAY too fast in all areas of resort. In need of renovations.

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: Beautiful and relaxing

This was our second visit to The Reserve and it was as good, maybe better, than our first. The staff are lovely, the service is personalized and the resort is beautiful. Our meals were great and our room was spacious and comfortable. We're already planning our return next year!

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Great Resort for the while family

Amazing water park, beautiful beach, great food and very attentive staff. My son got sick during our stay and the staff and in resort Doctor was very helpful. We all enjoyed the vacation however the kids really enjoyed the family sliming which is a Nicolodeon tradition.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful resort

We had an amazing time. The grounds were stunning, our room was spacious and clean and overlooked one of the 3 pools. Meals were good and staff were wonderful. High fives to Sexy chocolate and the rest of the entertainment team and to Juan at the main pool for those awesome drinks. We would definetly return but would stay longer next time. Thank you to Diana at Trip Central for recommending this beautiful place.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Very Nice Resort

We really enjoyed this resort. The water park was great for our 6 and 8 yr olds. The grounds were well kept and most of the staff were very friendly. The food and liquor selection could have been better

Punta Cana Princess: Awesome resort!!

An awesome resort. We would definitely return again. Really good food with lots of variety. No need to make reservations at restaurants which was great. Grounds nicely kept and with a small resort you get to meet people and also get to know the staff - awesome workers. Really nice pool and beach - lots of chairs available. Love this place!!
