Valentin Perla Blanca: Rundown Resort

Very disappointed in how it has been neglected in maintenance. Doors don't lock properly, toilets that don't flush, not enough bath towels to be changed every day, no change of beach towels, toilets around the pools and lobby are very dirty, no toilets around beach area at all considering this is a huge resort toilets are to be found only around pools or lobby. The food well this is not my first time in Cuba or Cayo Santa Maria, therefore I don't have high expectations in regards to the food  [... read more]but this was beyond Cuba' reputation for the food. Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing Resort and Staff

The Staff, Grounds, Room and food were all amazing. This was my 2nd time at this resort and we are already planning to go back again next year!!! One of the guests with us was 2 years old and he got sick. The doctor showed up the morning after to see how he was doing and then while walking to the buffet from the store the Manager of Guest services popped her head out the window to ask us how he was doing. Truly amazing Customer Service!

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Vitamin B Renewal!

We just got back from Cuba, the Dhawa Resort in Santa Maria Cuba. The weather was perfect except for a bit too much wind. Sun every day, Vitamin B has been topped up. The resort is a bit isolated from the real Cuba which for me is a bit of a negative. The only other negative was a shortage of drinking glasses, I suggest you bring your own insulated cup. The room was large and spotless with a nice shower to get all that sand off. Speaking of sand, the beach was beautiful. Lots of shade “houses” never had to fight for one. You could take a kayak out, a paddle boat or a sail boat (escorted) all for free. No line ups either. The pool is enormous, a bit cold, lots of seating and again so clean. More shade there would be nice. Some of best staff were in the pool bar, hi ladies and gents who work there. Now to food! I have traveled world wide but this was my first time to Cuba. I was nervous about the food. It wasn’t fantastic but I have eaten much worse. There was always something to please most The fish was amazing, fresh fruit, good pizza, lots of fruit and a decent selection of meat. Entertainment is such a personal thing, I was not keen on what was there but others were definitely enjoying it. Last comment. I already spoke of the small issues. The big issue for me was the cigarette smoke, by the pool and in the best entertainment facility. Security really needs to clamp down on those inconsiderate people who smoke outside designated areas. The administration needs to assign a designated area at the pool and they need to stop smoking in the lobby music area. I can’t believe so many people still smoke. And finally to the cleaning staff, gardeners and dining staff. They were all wonderful, the whole resort is spotless. Our room staff were amazing. Thanks! The resort is 1.5 hours away from the airport but the bus was new, the driver and guide were funny so time flew by. Don't let the drive deter you. That is it!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great place!!

Loved all of it!! The people who work there are awesome, very friendly! The rooms were a bit dated, but everything worked and they were clean. The food was good and there was lots of choice. The pool was great and the beach was fantastic. The shows they put on every night were amazing! There was always some type of entertainment going on at the pool. The gardens were very well taken care of and the gardeners are very friendly and will make you cool hats. I would definitely return to this resort  [... read more]and would 100% recommend it. Gran Muthu Imperial: Would go back again.

Nice resort about 45 minute drive from the airport....... after sitting on the bus for 45 minutes at the airport !!! The staff at reception are neither friendly or helpful. We had a beautiful room overlooking both the pool and the ocean.Very clean, and everything worked !!! Room # 9005 The 3 a la carte restaurants are good, but not great. The Main Buffet was good, but bad planning makes it difficult to access the food stations when the restaurant is busy. The Beach Restaurant is great for lu [... read more]nch. The Snack Bar is okay for a snack or a late night drink. The Lobby Bar has good coffee, and most evenings, entertainment. The 3 pools are great, but you have to do the early morning towel thing. The Imperial doesn't have the usual beach access,..... but just a few minutes walk away there is a lovely beach, with crystal clear water. The property is fairly new, well kept and very clean. Had a bit of a problem with bugs, so bring spray etc. Great value.

Melia Varadero: Loved it!

The beach is amazing, and the rooms are comfortable. The buffet was huge and even a picky eater can find something to eat. The a la cart restaurants are amazing! Our favourites were the international and the Italian. Christobal at the piano bar makes the most AMAZING mojitos. We will definitely go back.

Valentin Perla Blanca: 2nd Visit! Can’t wait for the 3rd!!

This is my second time at this resort and I love it!! A la carte restaurants are wonderful! The Staff are wonderful always attentive and wanting to make your stay memorable! Pools are lovely and the beaches leave me speechless! The only downside is lack of pool towel exchange, though it’s easily solved by hanging up your towel!! Seriously cannot wait for next year! Thank you again for your warm hospitality!

Paradisus Varadero: Great location

Very nice resort; some things need improvement, but their staff is willing to do whatever they can to make our stay enjoyable. I would mention Jonathan from customer service and Dennis from the main restaurant.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Memories Feb3-9

We had an amazing time. The grounds were so lush. Lots of areas to sit around the resort, the pool and chairs always available at the beach. The beach was amazing and had great snorkelling. Lobby was a great atmosphere at night especially the piano. Rooms very clean and bar always stocked with water. Food was good. Everyone was friendly on the resort.

Melia Internacional: Great resort

Great modern hotel ..amazing entertainment. Amazing beach. Wish there was a disco on the premises. Great food for cuba..so many good things that I would have loved to have finished eating except way too much salt. CUBAN resorts need to work on the food . Overall a great week

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Another great week at Paradisus!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tenth stay at this beautiful resort. We were upgraded to a room with an outdoor shower which is so enjoyable. Although this resort is a little gem, we have definitely noticed the rooms are in need of upgrading. As well, the lighting around the pathways at night was poor. Many of the boxes had burnt out bulbs. The pathway to our room was black and we had to use our phones in order to see. We reported this to the desk but nothing was done. Melia Jardines del Rey: Dont go :(

Please don't go to this property. It is not 3.6☆ I have been to Cuba 8 times. The people are lovely, the service was good at check in and with Air Canada, but the resort is in need of renovations. Our first room was a 20 minute walk from the lobby, the property is huge..too big. We moved rooms but we had two small single beds, filthy curtains, toilet didn't flush, no hot water, dark..little lighting if any.very old. I have a breathing problem, COPD, and a sleep apnea Cpap machine so I co [... read more]uld not stay in the mouldy room. The buffet was small, dirty, dark, and people made a mad rush like animals before things were gone. Lots of hot.dogs cut up, whole, on little buns, nothing that I would eat. We transferred to a different hotel that day. So, two hotels, 4 rooms later 2days wasted.. I would give this 2☆

Gran Muthu Imperial: Great Resort!

As a first time visitor to Cuba I think this was a great hotel. The room had a working air conditioner and fan, a beautiful clean space with a giant bed and the sofa turned into a smaller bed (my friend said this was a little hard). The shower had a waterfall option or a wand option and though our waterfall needed a clean for water flow the wand was good. The water pressure was nice and the temperature was very warm to hot. The mini bar was stocked daily with two sodas, two beers and a bottle of [... read more] water (large) free of charge. The atmosphere of the hotel was calm and relaxing in the daytime with a mix of fun zumba, waterfit or games and fun partying in the night with shows and music all around. The staff were always kind and friendly to us during our stay. Nearby to the hotel (a two minute walk past the security booth) there is a spa, restaurant, souvenir shops, disco and bowling. The food was delicious and there was good variety to choose from daily. The food was fresh and well prepared and nothing caused any illness to any of us. There were some congestive lines for things like personalized omelettes, pancakes or cooked chicken or fish. The ice cream was the best and there were delicious cakes daily. Here was always a mix of fresh local fruit and canned fruit available at all meals and the bread was very popular for its sweet taste. Sometimes as well there were churros or coconuts available around populated areas. The final option was the 24/hrs snack bar perfect for late night fries (etc) or drinks. At lunch time there was a mini buffet available for those not wanting to change to go to the larger buffet. The water too was of good quality drinking or handwashing. I only drink a little so I didn't partake in the bar as much, but all bar staff were friendly and attentive when I did. If you like strong drinks you'll be fine. If not practice asking for "poquito alcohol por favor" as I did. If you order an americano coffee they give a stick of sugar cane to chew which was awesome. Check in and out were simple and they provide a map to get to and from the room and the bellhops drove us and brought our bags within minutes. The excursions available were applicable to most hotels it seems.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Value

The resort is showing some wear and tear but overall it was very clean and we had a great time. The beach is a 12 out of 10. The food was very good and the staff were great too. We did not spend any time at the pool so we cannot comment on that since the beach was so spectacular. Some drinks lacking for example no tomato juice for a bloody mary. Our second time staying here and it was great! Food was fantastic! Staff wonderful and super accommodating. Definitely come back to enjoy the beauty and loveliness! Amazing beach, white sand! Awesome seashells too!

Paradisus Los Cayos: A Wonderful Vacation At A Beautiful Resort

Paradisus Los Cayos is an absolutely beautiful resort that was laid out in a very customer friendly manner: The rooms are attractively designed, with a bathtub in the middle of the floor. And no mold, no unsightly wear. Hey the resort is only a year old! And our residence had easy access to the buffet restaurant and to the main office and lounge. Moreover each residential building had a canal like swimming pool running alongside it. So it was very enjoyable to walk out onto our patio and hop in [... read more]to the pool. Outrageous. And the host staff were friendly, smiling, helpful Cubans with wonderful service. And we enjoyed the food, the evening shows, the special dinners, the massages, the bars, the special couches where we would spend half the day reading, the gym. An absolutely wonderful 9 day holiday it was! With one small but important caveat. A few days into our stay we discovered a few things missing, a couple of gym shorts, then a hat, a pair of scissors. We were not too disturbed as we felt that if someone needed them, they were welcomed to them. But when a pair of Nike gym shoes went missing, we reported the matter to the resort service department. This was our 19th trip to Cuba and never had we encountered an incident of petty thief. But now we lock up all small valuables.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: 5 Star Hotel for Cuba

This hotel was very good in all aspects. Hotel, rooms, pool and grounds were spotless. Beach was lovely other than one windy day blew a lot of seaweed in and I don't believe it was cleaned up right away. Food was good, not comparable to a 5 Star in other countries but they did their best to provide what they could. We had prime rib, roasted pig, pasta station, salads, desserts, etc. Four al a cartes were offered, two which we did not really enjoy and the other 2 were great. Only thing miss [... read more]ing was fresh fruit, which I was told was due to them losing their citrus crops. People were extremely pleasant and the entertainment was great. Our rooms while being a bit dated were large and nicely appointed. The bathrooms have been updated. It is out of the way so there isn't much to do but if you want to relax and enjoy yourself this is the place to go. Fortunately we had beautiful weather. The outdoor restaurants were good. One was open 24 hrs. We would recommend this resort to a friend. However, the cost of our trip seemed to be a bit high although it was for 10 days.

Playa Vista Azul: Good price but dirty

The resorts location is good. The beachs are beautiful but resort is dirty..stains on sheets and blankets.no change of towels. The floors in rooms are dirty grout is blackened with dirt .I don't think they have cleaning supplies and detergents to clean floors and linen properly. They use a dirty towel to mop floors. Spotted bugs at buffet light brown.

Playa Pesquero: 8th time there, but disappointed

This was our 8th time at Playa Pesquero. I have to say the staff make this place, they are the best! However this was the first time the lack of variety of food was disappointing. Everyone knows you dont go to Cuba for the food but there was very little this time. That being said when we upgraded to the 18+ premium side , a whole other story. Rooms were beyond anything I've ever been in, food was plentiful and amazing, butler service was fantastic. Just when I thought it had redeemed itself, de [... read more]parture day! There were at least 5 flights leaving out of that tiny airport. We waited 2.5hrs to even get checked in which of course delayed the flight by at least an hour. The airport staff were very very slow and not helpful at all. In fact if I wanted toilet paper I had to pay for it! Honestly we love Cuba or we wouldn't keep going back but we dont think we will be going back anytime soon, unfortunately.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Cuba a beautiful gem of a resort. A royal paradise beside the ocean

Paradisus Princessa del Mar it was our 3rd time there. Its still our favorite in all of Cuba. You can eat off the floor basically everywhere. We had the juniour Royal suite. I think it was just built. Very clean and well maintained. This time the food was excellent!! Lobster and scampi's was served 4 times in less than a week. Shrimp practically every day. The manager when it was busy help serve keeping all the staff up to speed. I actually gained 3 kg. Royal service is a worthwhile upgrade. Maids did their job sometimes changing the sheets 2x a day. Thank you senorita ! Next time I will try the Jeep tour. Spoke with some people and they loved it Negative: My wife got bit by a few mosquitoes and needed benadryl. But that happens every time.
