Paradisus Punta Cana: Paradisus Punta Cana Group Getaway

Found this property very big but quite nice. The walking was hard for some as the huge cobblestones made it uneven so the hips took a beating and anyone with leg problems would find it difficult. However they do have a trolley that goes around quite often which some of us took advantage of specially from lobby area back to buffet or pool area. Myself personally only got to one a la carte...The Grill. Rib eye steak would have fed both my husband and myself. It was huge. Some others in the group went to the Japanese and one of the others, so they will speak to those I am sure. Overall food wasn't bad but didn't find enough variety I guess. We seem to be hit and miss on the pasta station which is a usual go to for us. Pool was nice , beach was nice but red flag was up last few days as it was pretty windy and rough. Entertainment was good....I didn't go to see any theater shows as they usually all seem the same to me after awhile....word had it that Michael Jackson was extremely good though. They had the silent dance party with headphones for the first time at that resort while we were there. It was great fun. We have experienced this before and always loved it at other resorts. Of course the anticipated foam party is always a hit as well. Beach Party was great and the disco we took in one night on the beach. our last evening they had a violinist and she was really good...we really enjoyed her talents. Oscar was one of the first entertainment people we had met. Some of our great servers at Gabi Beach were Yuletide, Bethania, Tavares and Christiano. At the North Bar Lobby was Yesica Perez. not to leave out the most important was Willis and Argenis at the pool bar. All the people were great that worked there though. We had changed rooms actually after a couple of days as we were having trouble in first room with hot water for showering. But the bell boys were super helpful in taking our luggage and helping carry our clothes on hangers to hold on the trolley and change rooms. We were a party of 6 in our group but met friends that consisted of 8 then 2 more in that group showed up before we left . Plus we met a couple that is local to us and made a new friendship that we can carry on with hopefully. All in all it was not a bad resort but not sure if I will go there again anytime soon.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful Resort

The resort had the most beautiful views, just breath taking. Staff went above and beyond with their service and kindness. Food is amazing. The resort is spotless. Rooms were beautiful and beds were comfy. Loved it!!!

Riu Republica: Awesome resort!

The rooms are nicely decorated and very big. We enjoyed hanging out on the balcony in the mornings with our coffee and also at night drinking beer as we unwound from our day. The food was amazing! Many different restaurants to eat at or just stick with the buffets. We also liked the fact that there are 2 different areas at the resort. One side for the drunken twenty somethings. And the other side for the older people who want to party. Paradisus Punta Cana: Almost a 5+ Star

Paradisus Punta Cana is a lovely resort. The grounds and services are best on the island (been to DR 14 times). I have stayed at this resort 9 times over the years and watched the renovations and upgrades improve this resort greatly. However, the food has consistently gone downhill. The buffet is smaller, less options and and the restaurants just passable. The food service by the pool is excellent and menu items there are not found anywhere else so a must do.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Nice Resort and Beautiful grounds!

This was our first time at this resort. The staff was very welcoming when we arrived. If you are looking for a nice small compact resort then this is the resort for you. We were on the third floor of a nicely situated bungalow. Our room was nice but there was nothing special about it. It was sparsely furnished but clean. We didn't have a fridge which was a downer. The power went out the first night we were there and continued to go off and on through the night and through our week stay.  [... read more]When the power went out the water in our room stopped working and didn't come back on for a while after. On our last morning when we were getting ready to leave and the power went off while I was in the shower which meant that I had to walk around with shampoo in my hair for about 20 minutes till the water came back on. I called the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do about it. The grounds are beautiful, well kept and clean. The public areas were clean and the staff was very friendly. The staff was also very friendly with my children which made a very welcoming feeling. There is only 1 pool but it is fairly large. The wind was terrible during our visit so it seemed the pool always had sand in it through no fault of the staff. The resort is right on the beach and the beach is very nicely kept. Clean and lots of lounging chairs. The entertainment staff is wonderful and there is always something going on whether its games for the kids, zumba or water sports in the pool. The nightlife is good also. Not wild but adequate. The food was ok as far as Dominican food goes. There was lots of variety and I never had a hard time finding something my fussy children would eat. The a la carte places were very nice also. Overall the resort was clean, pretty and not to loud. All the people were friendly and our stay was a positive one for us and our children.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Fair Resort

A group of us have vacationed here for the past three years. The price continues to go up but the service declines. The upgrades that have been done to the lobby and restaurants are amazing,however, the services, rooms and food continue to decline. Room service was inconsistent with replenishing drinks and towels, the food was always cold unless you ordered pasta, too many cold showers for my liking and we were locked out of room, but we could enter using a straw in the hole in the patio door [... read more].

Riu Bambu: it was a nice resort

the resort was nice the ground the pool was good but the beach was very good that was we spend are time at the beach the at the bar area the service was very friendly and had lot of fun with the service personality and very outgoing

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Wonderful Resort

Beautiful grounds, very clean, wonderful staff If your looking for a smaller resort this is your place. The views are amazing and rooms are beautiful. This is one of cleanest resorts we have ever visited. The staff is very encaging and evening entertainment was was great. Only 3 la carte restaurants, but the main dinning room have a different theme nights each evening. Unlike most resorts it wasn’t a problem to find a lounge chair either around the pool deck or beach. Yes as we were awhere no much happening beyond 10 pm but after all day in the heat and fresh air we were ready to crash. Lots of stairs but we didn’t mind those at all. Keeps one in shape. There are elevators to use if so inclined. Liked the fact that if you forgot something in your room it didn’t take 20 minutes to go back. Very nice small resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Nice Small Resort

This is a lovely resort if you are looking for a small resort with everything very close and easy to walk to. Beach and lobby both very close to all of the rooms. bathrooms and rooms kept clean and stocked. however, the entertainment is not so great at night- so if you enjoy that this is not the resort for you. The food is decent- nothing impressive however the staff are very friendly. Resort is close to a mall with shopping and restaurants- about a 3 minute walk. Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Family Resort

We just returned from a week at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. We travelled as a family of 10 including 4 children aged 4 months to 6. The Palace is a family resort with many activities for kids. They particularly enjoyed the water park. The resort and the grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, with staff constantly cleaning. The rooms are large and were cleaned promptly, yes there is a lack of privacy in the bathroom area. We had a couple of minor issues in the room: the safe needed new batteries and the iron did not work, Both issues resolved very promptly. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, the service was great all over the resort. We would definitely recommend this resort.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Be Live Marien

Beautiful! Very friendly and hard working staff! Amazing food! The only complaints is the bathrooms needs to be updated and the wifi isn’t the best! But your on vacation so unplug and enjoy! Do the city tour excursion!

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Average hotel

We have stayed at this hotel a few times but this year noticed the food selection at buffet was very low budget. Breakfast was the best, lunches and suppers always had hot dogs and pre made hamburgers, food was always room temperature. Shows were not well advertised and animation team spent more time chatting with each other then engaging guests. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Such a fun & relaxing time!

This was our first time in the Dominican, and we had read mixed reviews about this resort. The room we started with was clean & nice, however we had no hot water. We called the front desk and they had us moved to a new room within an hour. The rooms were always kept tidy, and the fridge was always restocked. There were always carts around to give you a ride around the resort, although it is fairly small and easy to navigate. The staff was always smiling and welcoming! The drinks were good, and s [... read more]ervice was decently quick. The beach was beautiful, mind you these aren’t white sand beaches. We did the catamaran and VIP beach tours and had a blast on both! The culture in the surrounding towns is amazing. The food was decent, many many options so it made it easy to always find something to eat. We met some amazing people on this trip, and enjoyed the shows every night. It was always sunny and beautiful, the grounds were kept neat and clean. We would definitely go back! It was a nice mix of adults, young adults like ourselves, and families.

Impressive Punta Cana: Very impressive resort!

Just back from two great weeks in ocean view room (24214). Asked for quiet, smoke free, king room and it was perfect. Huge clean beach. Choice of pools. Lots of chairs. No need to run out at 6am to put towel on chair. Good selection of ala cartes with no waiting. Beautiful grounds. Thanks to Bismarck for his advice and help.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: A beautiful resort to escape the cold winters.

We had a wonderful week roaming the beautiful grounds of the resort, swimming in the amazing pool and walking the beach. Whatever you want, stay quiet or join in the fun, it's all there for you. The staff are friendly and eager to please. Whatever foods you like, it's all there in abundance. For me I enjoyed the fresh fish every day. Tropical fruits and fantastic deserts to spoil you. This was our third stay at this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Huge Resort

Bahia Principe Esmerelda is a small part of the Bahia Principe Resort which is 7 resorts in 1. The grounds are beautiful. Rooms are a little dated but clean. Beach is amazing. Buffets are smaller than other resorts I've been to. A la cartes were hard to get a decent time or get into them. Capucino machines should be 24 hrs just a suggestion. All in all we were going for sun and beach and we did get it and it was awesome.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Worth the price.

The rooms are becoming a little dated. The beach buffet could be improved. Very busy and not enough seating. Need to hit the beach and pool early morning to obtain chairs. Overall, the staff were very helpful, friendly. Well worth the stay. Food and drinks were good. Shows were good.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort !

This hotel was clean and well kept. The food was fantastic, the staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. We stayed mostly at the beach as the pool was always full with towels on the chairs by 7 am, but that was ok as we are beach people any ways. Music playing at the beach and pool would be a good idea. But all in all it was a wonderful experience...

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Never again

Sollicitation, sollicitation, non stop all week long. Some employees ask for money in exchange of little "extras", and two men in charge of activities (entertainment) had a fight (twice) during an evening show. Small families were affraid and going back to their room. The hotel is nice, food is average, but good enough, the beach is excellent, but people reserve chairs all day by leaving their towels, even if they don't show up. Domenican people working there don't smile much, you fell you bothe [... read more]r them, except those who have something to sell (stuff or service). We never saw Air Transat rep, we had a hard time finding the transportation at the airport. We traveled about ten times in our life, and we don't generaly complain about small things, that is part of travelling. This is the worst trip we had. No more Iberostar, and no more Domenican Republic.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Nice Resort

We had a swim up pool room. It was very large and bed was comfortable. Unfortunately our room was right in front of the swim up bar so we didn't have any privacy and people had been sitting there all day drinking. It would have been better if we were away from the bar. Food was good, we liked the Japanese and the Steak House restaurants. Beach was amazing and the water was lovely. Shows at night were very good. Tennis courts were nice, gym was nothing special.
