The hotel has many rooms and yet you never feel like it’s crowded! There is beachfront for all who chose it, and beach loungers for all.
Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable beds. The buffet can satisfy any taste, and a Jamaican corner of foods at every meal and every day is appealing to those who go for the Jamaican foods!!
Entertainment is wholesome, family friendly fun! The resort overall is quieter, And a relaxed ambiance about it.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Disappointed
The hotel is older and although they are doing "renovations" it's really like a slight face lift; mostly refresh with paint; nothing special. The rooms had a foul order, like wet cardboard. Each pod has a fountain on the ground floor that is completely useless and contributes to the smell. My balcony door did not open so I was unable to use the balcony. I am Jamaican so I might be extremely biased re the food. Absolutely crap. Menus so deceiving. Now the service...ABSOLUTLEY IMPECCABLE. Check[... read more]-in was a little tedious but the courteous, friendly, efficient staff made it bearable. Servers were alert and attentive.

Ocean Coral Spring: Beautiful Resort!
This resort is very well maintained and the staff are very responsive to guests needs. The food was exceptionally good for all meals and there were many choices. You will always find something that you desire to eat! The drinks were very good quality with champagne available at breakfast. The music and entertainment were extremely well done and very enjoyable. It started at around 7pm (Jamaica Time) and continued until around 11pm. There were solo artiste playing the Saxophone, Violin, Piano (ev[... read more]ery night). The live bands were very good and the male singer's voice was so very good. They covered a variety of music types including Pop, Jazz and Reggae. The night shows were also very well done. There was also a Disco for late night entertainment. There were daily activities during the day time which many guests enjoyed.
The Ocean and the Beach were terrible and the worst that I have been to!! This should be corrected!!
The Rooms were clean and spacious with readily available Towels as required. The swimming pools were large and well maintained. There were Bars everywhere so drinks were readily available as required. Pay special attention the Beach because many guests are complaining about this. Fix this problem if you would like to have "repeat guests" and positive recommendations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Not sure how to evaluate
The location of resort is amazing , very nice beach and Tiffany color sea, there is a great local public restaurant 2 min walking serving lobsters . Regarding resort - my first impression was good , one of the perks - you can get a free coconuts that grow right on the trees in the resiort , their restaurants are amazing , especially wow to the one that has a purple colour - don’t remember the name . Buuuuut - my phone was STOLEN, my daughter left the phone in the main cafeteria - I got back 2 [... read more]min later , it was just gone -they said they will do investigation, but no one even got back to me with updates , also forgot my shoes in the room - sent the email to see if they saw it , and no of course - shows were stolen . And the biggest thing - my husband and my son were bitten by something , new bites eoykd appear on their skin every morning , I bilieve it’s bad bugs , and pray we didn’t bring any to the house . Loved negrill loved Jamaican people - but will never return to this hotel will not recommend to my friends , another thing we saw a cockroaches in our room

Riu Ocho Rios: Beautiful Resort
This hotel is very clean and services are excellent. The food is fresh, tasty and delicious. The beach is very calm and water is very clear and waves are not that high. An excellent family get away. People are very friendly and down to earth. I would like to see them serve black label scotch whisky because I .m a scotch drinker with a fine pallet.
Service sucks and the food isn't good it was hit and miss! THE Room accommodation didn't go as planned. Disappointed!! Would never recommend NOT sure how they have supposedly high ratings. A bunch of people I know also went and had the same complaints

I have been to this resort 3 years ago After COVID I thought it would be a chore and skeptical of the processes that would be in place that would hinder my vacation but I was pleasantly impressed the resort is SANITIZED clean and fresh daily and non of the processes stopped the Zen this resort supplies!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great resort for kids!!
The resort offered lots of options. From food to activities there was plenty. We travelled with two kids under 5 and they had a blast. Staff was very helpful. Nightly entertainment is loud so if you have light sleepers request a room away from it. Otherwise enjoy your vacation

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Terrible Experience
2/10
Our experience from our first day to last was a nightmare at the resort.
Upon arrival, things began to go wrong, and something didn’t seem right. On day one, when checking in, no one knew that a crib was needed for the room even though the request was made months in advance. It took until the middle of the night to receive a crib and the baby was already sleeping. When arriving, (and each and every day after), the fridge in the room was always empty and it always felt like we were[... read more] bothering someone to ask for clean towels or water bottles for the baby.
On day two, (we had the swim out room and our baby enjoyed it), until noticing that the tiles were falling off and cement debris was floating around us. Not sanitary. At the pool bar, as well as the other bars, everyone seemed to ignore the guests even though the bar was not busy. It took forever to get drinks and they were subpar.
On day three the true nightmare began. My wife was breastfeeding our baby in the room when she noticed cockroaches climbing into her luggage and another into the baby’s crib. At that point, I realized that this hotel is dirty and unsanitary. Upon telling this to someone at the lobby, they brushed it off. When my wife started crying hysterically the manager came and offered us a new room along with a day in a cabana. In the new SECOND room, I saw ANOTHER cockroach. The fact that they were in two rooms makes it very clear that this is a dirty hotel. My baby could have gotten extremely sick. At this point, I was over this vacation and made such my luggage’s were always locked. I was paranoid the entire rest of the vacation and coming home was a stressful experience of cleaning and making sure no cockroaches entered my home back in Canada.
The remaining days did not scream a 5-star experience. The buffet always ran out of food 1-2 hours after opening for lunch or dinner on a daily basis. On the last day, there was no bell boy to bring our bags to the front and no food for the 2-hour bus ride back to the airport since prior to 7 am no services are available. When my wife asked at 6:55 am for a piece of bread for our 10-month-old baby for the bus ride, the workers were rude and denied entry to my wife.
Workers constantly complained about working there to the guests. Many workers verbally expressed their want to quit Royalton and work for the RIU since meals were not provided for them at the Royalton for free. They did not feel valued and verbally expressed it. I can understand their frustration. Their disappointment in the working conditions is rubbing off on the guests and everyone is frustrated. Nothing about this resort was a 5-star experience. This hotel is going downhill fast and everyone from the guests to the workers notice it and verbally express it.
Paying for a 5-star experience and receiving at best a 3-star hotel is false advertisement. I am going back to work not relaxed and frustrated with what my family has experienced. I will never again choose a Royalton property and will not recommend it to my friends and family.
The ONLY amazing part was the beach. Beautiful water.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: I would rate 3 out of 5 star only
In the first room we checked in, there were a lot of rain flies, on the bed, in the bathroom, along the curtain, etc. We never saw those bugs in the past. We found out in the next morning. Several rain flies crawed on the bed!!! So scary for the first night of our vacation. Not expected at all. We requested to change the room. The second room was fine, clean and nice.
I requested room service to get a water, etc, I had to wait long time to get delivered.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Empty Promises
I'm not going to lie the resort is nice, food is amazing, and the waiters and waitresses are extremely pleasant. They work extremely hard.
We booked an Ocean View room with accessibility availability. We received that. But the elevator was down the entire week. The walking across slippery marble flooring was extremely dangerous or walk up three floors to get to our room. But be very carefully in the stairway. I got my thumb caught in the railing going down and banged it up pretty good.[... read more] There was so much condensation from the humidity the floors were sweating. No lie. When walking across from one building to another about 300 meters if not more on slippery floors with a cane, I had a few incidents of almost falling. If my husband wasn't there to catch me, I would have been on the ground and in the hospital. It is a very difficult resort to get around. You do not have a beach on the Luxury side you have a beach on the family side. To access the beach, you have to take a trolly over and walk about 500 meters to get to the beach. Once again not easily accessible.
We also had a time share stalker from the first day he caught us at the pool side. We just go there stood around for 1.5 hours and we just wanted to unwind, and he didn't take no for an answer. He completely dismissed me and talked right through me (I'm female). Made very rude chauvinistic comments saying that older men need to teach the younger women about life and keep them in their place. He didn't ask me my opinion he just spoke to my husband and said don't worry you will get a spa treatment out of this. I was beyond angry. We then went for dinner that night and he come up to our table in the middle of a nice ala carte meal and stands in front of us. We go what do you want? He said nothing just checking in on you......that creeped us out completely. He then called our room at 8 a.m. the next day and we told him we want to don't want to talk about time sharing. He was assertive with me on the phone and I told him no. That day we go to the lobby, and I needed a break from the walking. We sat down in front of the marketing and promotion section. Just by accident. A wonderful women approached us I wish I could remember her name. She asked if I was okay and my husband. No more than 5 minutes of her asking if we were okay he was right behind my husband glaring at me. His name was Davian (close to that spelling). I tell my husband to turn around and my husband at this point told him that he's a stalker and ruining our vacation. We were done with the time share nonsense.
The ala carte restaurants were amazing except for Takara the Chinese restaurant. Very disorganized, salty food and their portioning was way off. Between the appetizer and the main course we waited 45 minutes. Because I wasn't feeling well we asked them to send my meal up to my room. That got there later but I was able to eat it.
The heat was so intense at the resort that the air-conditioning at the restaurants on the Luxury and the Grand were mainly out. Out of 7 restaurants 2 had air conditioning working. Even the fans that they placed didn't help. Although you had reservations for the ala carte restaurants you had to take the trolly to the grand side. Be prepared to wait if you aren't a privileged member and the carts are so not maintained and half the time, they run out of battery around 9 pm so be prepared to be sweaty and sticky by the time you get to the restaurant or leave the restaurant. Also, the ala carte allows children in the restaurants even if you stay at the Luxury adults only side. They can go to the adults only side to have dinners there. So, if you want a quiet romantic dinner, you won't get it here. Another fault of having two monster hotels in one. You want adults only you won't get it completely adults only especially at breakfast and dinner.
Finally, my last complaint about the resort is the butler service. Sometimes you had to wait 2 hours for a bucket of ice, they do not have ice machines in the hallways or accessible to the general public. Sometimes you didn't get it and had to order it again and wait another hour.
We also pre-ordered room service the night we were leaving because we wanted to take a sandwich with us on the plane. The pre-order never came. This happened twice. I wanted to surprise my husband with a breakfast in bed. The order never came. I was so disappointed.
The last piece that I wanted to let you know is that I have never felt so racial profiled at this resort. We are white professionals, and we were snubbed by a lot of the clientele and the staff. While speaking to other people that were there we weren't the only ones that had this happen to them.
The resorts apology to us for all this was 2 x 25 minute massages. This was just not worth the frustration we went through.
I will go back to Jamaica. But will never go back to this resort. The amount that we paid for a week for an Ocean view we could have had a 7 - 9 day Mediterranean Cruise.

Samsara Cliff Hotel: Samsara Awesome Again
5th time between Samsara & Legends. Every time we are impressed with all the staff, wish I could remember all your names; Kendrick, Jennifer, Tina, Marcia and Kimmi. So friendly and gracious. Food is limited but always good. A great place to use as a launch board to explore the West end and Negril. If you want a 5 star hotel that you never leave and could really be on any island, maybe this isn't for you! The newer building built during covid is our choice.
