Grand Decameron Panama: Great beach, beautiful grounds, not so great food

We stayed at the hotel the last week of November. The location of the hotel and the beach were fantastic - some of the most beautiful grounds at an all inclusive resort I've ever seen. There were also tons of pools (an adult only pool with a swim up bar was one of our favourites - gets you away from all those screaming children). However, since the hotel is so huge, there was a lot of walking and stairs. Something we didn't mind, but I don't think would suit someone with limited mobility. The f [... read more]ood wasn't the best - having so many a la carte restaurants helped for variety. There also weren't a lot of English speaking guests. So if you were a couple of 30-some girls looking to make some new friends, there weren't many people your age to converse with. All in all, it was a good holiday!

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Excellent Resort

Both my husband and I truly enjoyed the very welcoming and accommodating hotel staff!! At the Front Desk, Miss Jodi-Ann Johnson and Moeisha Donald both wonderful examples of amazing client services!!! Never ever did we have to ask for anything, both Ladies always acknowledging our presence and inquiring if we needed anything to not hesitate to call for them, and this kind treatment was provided to all guests!! In the dining room, Miss Stacey Campbell, Mr. Tyrese, Miss Sandra to name just a very few always greeted us and all guests with the most amazing smiles, but then your hotel staff all have the most beautiful smiles!! But we would also like to give a special thank you to Miss Ann Marie, your Client Service Specialist for Air Transat, my husband had forgotten an item on the plane, we were greeted by Miss Ann Marie who took action and got my husband's item within just an hour!! This meant the world for my husband!!

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Royal Decameron Montego Beach

Our recent stay at the Royal Decameron Montego Beach Jamaica was perfect. We are repeat guests, but had family come with that we're first timers to Jamaica. Lovely to see familiar staff, food was fantastic, couldn't have asked for better accommodations. We love this resort, feels like home for us, no surprises, we know what to expect and we like that. Our family loved the Decameron so much, I am sure they will be back and will probably suggest it to their friends too.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: A very good resort

Hello David, As per your request the following relates to our recent trip to the Decameron in Bucerious. This is our 7th trip to this location. First comment is that the weather was great, a little hot but beautifully sunny for the whole holiday. The resort is as expected - well positioned (near Bucerias), very clean with a great beach. If we have one negative observation it would be that they should be more creative when it comes to items on the buffet menu . Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Amazing resort that I wil go back to again and again

What we specifically like is that it is an in-expensive resort but still has multiple buildings, pools and restaurants. You don't get pool service or a fridge in your room, but we don't need that or want to pay for that. The grounds are cleaned frequently. Rooms are a decent size with all you could need including hairdryer, soaps etc. I like the yoga/stretch each morning at 9.00 on the beach. Quiet adult pool and several others for children and activities. Lots of lounge beds but need to b [... read more]uy an air mattress as they are not covered with a pad. May need to get up early to book off a palapa for shade though. Two stores on site plus a medical centre. We also like that we can walk to local shops or a 20-30 minute walk into Bucerias for some deals and meals. Free non motorized water sports. Great beach for walking on. Staff are very friendly and work hard to please you. We also like the guests here, they are more down-to-earth people and friendly. Men do not need to wear long pants and closed toe shoes to the a la carte restaurants (thank goodness). Still look nice in a shirt and nice shorts and sandals. The A la carte booking is only from 8-9 am till full and you can book for the day of and the next day. The line was a little long at times but worth it to go to the various restaurants. Two buffets are also available. We like going to the Royal Decameron.

Everything was great, except for the fact that I got stung by a stingray on the right big toe on the 3rd day. Was treated wonderfully, but after the first aid treatment, they demanded that I fork over $340 US for services rendered, even though I had purchased travel insurance prior to our trip. To make a long story short, the distinguished Manager of Guest Services actually threatened to call the authorities on us, as well as cancel our airline tickets and not allow us to check out of the hotel  [... read more]in a timely manner. They refused to deal with Air Transat insurance at all. Needless to say, We will never ever deal with that hotel again. Good way to do business and lose customers at the same time. Congratulations.

Grand Decameron Panama: Once is enough..

The hotel cleaning staff did a good job and when asked replenished the towels in the room and the water. However, the electric receptacle in the bathroom was never fixed and did not work. The extra cost for a second key (albeit total amount refunded upon exiting from our vacation) was an added request we do not feel should have had to have been made. The charge for the vault was also an added cost and digital was not available. The key system was also “yesterday’s technology”. Through [... read more]out the weeK we found the resort very full as well which is unusual for November. But the most unreasonable was the disco noise that began at 10:00 pm and did not end until 3:00 am. This made it impossible to sleep and although we did speak with management their solution was to move the disco closer to our room and the speakers directed to where we were staying. We found the resort tired as well.

Hotel was clean, buffet wasn't very good, long lines for reservations for the al a carts. The grounds are well kept, rooms are nice and clean. Location is really handy to shopping, banking and restaurants. Would only go when the price is low.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Colourful Resort

The Royal Decameron Complex was very warm and inviting with temps soaring to the 30's (Celsius) in early November. We enjoyed our stay. We found the service top notch, rooms and building bathrooms kept very clean. We were in room 1101 - don't book this room, It is directly beside the busiest/nosiest activities area. After one night we requested a room change, and the front office staff were able to get us moved over to complex 5, which was much more quiet. The food at the specialty restaurants i [... read more]s amazing, but the line up (sometimes as early as 5:30 am) was a challenge to be able to book into the restaurants for the evenings. It looks like this hotel is a favourite of many visiting locals, which meant more of the buffet food was catering to Mexican cuisine. Not bad if you like the food, but a bit of a challenge if you have trouble with spicy/ethnic food. The many pools were lovely, but as the week progressed, a couple became more and more dirty. Access to the beach is easy, and the bars are great with awesome service. Everyone worked hard to make our stay enjoyable.

It was an amazing trip, from booking to when we landed back in Toronto after the 7 days it was perfect! The best thing about this resort is the amount of people who go back year after year each stay longer! I will be returning next year for 10 days!! Grand Decameron Panama: Yes, Amazing resort

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Decameron Beach Resort in Panama.The beach was beautiful and the room was very clean. The bed sheets and towels were changed each day. The food was OK, The resort is very huge with so many attractions and pools, its a great place for the kids, they will love it their, For someone who is not able to climb stairs, they have service to drive you around. They have a show each evening and a show time for kids.The office staff speaks  [... read more]English but the cleaning and restaurant staff hardly speak any English. I will certainly return their with my family members..We took the Panama Canal and city tour and it was a very interesting day, I recommend this tour for everyone a must go for all.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Had a Great Time as Usual

We have visited this resort over 15 times. Still great value. Management has been listening to requests. Most notably, drink glasses are much larger. Talked to management, and soon wifi will be available throughout the resort instead of just designated areas. The buffets have a bit too much Mexican cuisine, yet understandable as there are many Mexican guests at the resort. Booking a-la-cart restaurants is still an issue. The staff did an amazing job to keep the grounds neat and tidy, they went out of their way to please the people. The rooms get cleaned everyday and clean towels put in the bathroom. The beach🏖🏄‍♂️🏊‍♂️ was fantasic. The food is fabulous🍍🍌🍆🍦🥂🍹

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: 90% Scooter accessible!!!

We were pleasantly surprised, to tell you the truth. I have certain physical challenges and I require a mobility device (scooter) to get around. I was able to go from one end of the resort, to the other, with little restriction. We found the entertainment staff, lifeguards, security, and most of the bar staff, to be very polite and friendly. Our room was always clean. Thanks to the housekeeping staff. The amenities were great. We liked the two pools...in case your feeling a little less ro [... read more]wdy, there is a quieter pool behind the swim up pool bar area. We have a few suggestions, but overall... "Hell Yeah, We'd Come Back"!!

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Fantastic resort!!!

This resort couldn't have been better for the value. So clean with an excellent layout. Food and service was great. The staff is very friendly and attentive. All rooms are ocean view and I mean exceptional ocean view. We would definitely return and highly recommend it.

Wonderful view, beach and pool. The food was better than expected as were the drinks. The staff were always willing to go out of their way to help. The room was only fair, shower construction left water on the floor after every use, no wardrobe drawers available only closet and no in room coffee, however the bed was very comfortable and staff kept the room very clean. The view from the room makes up for a lot. Overall I would recommend this hotel to friends

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Good 3 Star Resort

We went down as a group and chose this resort because of the location and price. Very easy to walk around town and great beach. The rooms are clean, don’t expect anything fancy. The food is ok but with many top notch restaurants and bars in town we chose to eat out most nights. Great staff is the highlight of this resort. I would only suggest you choose this resort if you can get a package with flights under 1000 Canadian dollars.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Love this resort

Very nice resort, it was our 2nd visit in 6 months, great beach, nice and clear and very warm temperature. Pool was refreshing, and always clean. Did not have any problems getting lounge chairs. Only complaint is there was not a large variety of food. Less then 5 mins drive from airport. Will definitely visit again.

My first impression is that this hotel is crazy colorful. It’s a massive resort with I believe 5 different areas. I came here for a relaxing solo vacation and that’s exactly what I got. I happened to have a room right by the adult only pool which was amazing. It’s not even a 10 minute walk to the beach. They have a variety of restaurants that you can make a reservation at but you have to wake up very early and I just couldn’t be bothered. So I only ate at the buffet, nothing too impressi [... read more]ve there. But I also have a very restricted diet so chances are it’s just the stuff I could eat that was bland, so who knows. All of the staff were very nice, some remembered me at the buffet which was nice. I got stung by a wasp and right away they brought me ice and was worried whether I was allergic or not even when I said I was fine. Over all it was a lovely experience, I’ll definitely come back.

ive been a loyal customer of the royal decameron complex for 23 yrs going twice a yr and everything was always fantastic , until this last trip oct 7th to oct 21st 2017 ,,,,,,,,ive always reffered my freinds and family there ,,,,, but this yr , things have changed horribly ,,,,,,,they always had a great variety of canadian and mexicain foods on the buffets but this yr ,,,, there was not ,,, everything in the buffets looked the same it was all mush over cooked and way over spiced , and it was c [... read more]lear they were reheating foods and reserving them the following day ,,, and very clear was alot of cross contamination of foods as 90% of the people we spoke to durring our 2 weeks were all very ill from the food ,,,, including all 5 of us ,,,,,,and the food service has also gone down the toilet along with everything we ate ,,, i sat at a table in the buffet for nearly 25 mins waiting for cutlury and water before getting my food to the point i got up and went to the service counter and got my own and poured my own water ,,,, bar tenders were fantastic house keeping was fantastic and maintainence was also great , but if the food is not good ,, no one has a good time ,,, extremely disapointing ,, and after 23 yrs ill now be looking for a new resort to go to in puerto vallarta
