Secrets The Vine Cancun: Fantastic Resort

Secrets the Vine was an amazing resort. The food was fabulous, the staff, friendly and accommodating. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and the bed was so comfortable...I can't say that about other places I have stayed. The pools were lovely the beach was also beautiful....the weather didn't cooperate for us but it didn't matter. There was always lots to do and enjoy. Thank you Tripcentral!

Secrets Huatulco: Secrets Huatulco was beautiful !

Resort is beautiful ! Staff was amazing ! Rooms were very nice but the fridge for a preferred room lacked liquors...... need a real bar ! Shade at this resort is at a premium ! Swim up rooms need shade !

Secrets St James: Excellent Resort

We loved this resort, it had everything you could possibly want in a vacation. Our room was great, large with a jacuzzi both in the room and another one on the balcony, the bed was very comfortable, the food was great, there were plenty of chairs on the beach. The grounds were very well maintained with sprinkler systems and daily gardening. It was great that you didn't have to make reservations for the restaurants (except the Japenese) which meant you didn't have to stand in reservation lines t [... read more]o be told they were all booked, you just showed up at the retaurant and sometimes waited but you were given a beeper and could go off and have drinks while waiting. The staff at the resort were very friendly and accommodating. We had the preferred club so enjoyed going there for breakfast and snacks throughout the day. The jerk chicken cart was a daily highlight. We enjoyed the padel boarding and kayaking which was included. The only thing I thought was missing was a place to play cards at night, most places were either too dark or there were bars without table areas for that sort of think. I would love to see at least one elyptical in the gym as well. This was our 4th time to Jamaica and our first time at this resort but we are going back to St. James on our next trip.

Secrets Huatulco: My new Favorite Place

The resort is beautiful, quiet, and pampered luxury. The staff are fantastic and make you feel like you are the only person on the resort. Food was great, no reservations or line ups. Not a cloud in the sky for two weeks, and the beaches are gorgeous. I have travelled all over the Caribbean, Mexico, and Bahamas and this place is impressive!

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: good resort

hi, just got back from Secrets Silversands. We had been there once before when it first opened and we had been reading some very good reviews. We were happy to have a nice swim out room in building 4 facing the Sugar Reef Bar and the Barefoot Grill (nice food cooked each day, burgers, fries, wings, hot dogs, pico and guac.) This area is outstanding with views of the resort as well as the ocean. The poolside service by Esther was excellent and Jose the bartender mixed excellent drinks. Corona is  [... read more]on tap and Corona Light available in cans as well as Modello and Modello Light and also a few American beers. Drinks and beer selections all good. House wines were Chilean and just fine. Ample towels, good stocking of room bar fridge, turn down service all good. If I have a complaint - it would be the food. It is kinda bland and weird at the same time. I did not really enjoy the food except for a dinner at the Seaside Grill Restaurant... I did not like all the birds flying around trying to get your food. We have been to other Secrets Resorts and they have had hawks to fly around to stop the other birds from coming around. Not the case here and they were quite an annoyance. I would recommend a swimout room if you do stay, no fighting for a lounger! which can be a big bonus! The Barracuda Bar down by the ocean is a must see at night after dinner, beautiful! Coffee and drinks at the coffee shop was outstanding. You will have a good time here and maybe loose some weight from not eating so much.

Secrets Huatulco: Not There Yet

The resort is located in a very beautiful area. The décor is very bland and could really use some other colour that off white. The furnishings are flimsy. The staff is great. The liquor is top shelf but the food was very sparse is selection. To answer the question would I recommend this resort .....maybe. It depends on what you are looking for. It is a very long 5 hour flight and the weather is very hot 30+ every day.

Marquis Los Cabos: Fantastic luxury resort

The hotel was well appointed with great attention to detail and luxury in mind. The staff were very attentive, the rooms cleaned thoroughly every day, and food was well prepared and alterations were easily made to suit your needs (no buffet so fresh fresh fresh!) the recreational activities were quite regular and there was a fully equipped gym complete with towels and water.

Secrets Huatulco: Unlimited Paradise!

Secrets Hualtuco is a hidden gem! The ambiance, staff, food presentation and quality, the cleanliness , the tennis pro ( Victor) and the most spectacular views ! Wealth is within the walls! Staff is well trained and 'Most 'accommodating ! Imagine .... 5 pools / 6 restaurants / a Spa / maid service / unlimited drinks and food! But most important great PEOPLE ! From staff to clients! Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful Location

We would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is the second time we have been there and enjoy it. The grounds , staff, rooms, and service is very good. Everyone is pleasant and helpful. The view from your room is well worth it.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Secrets Silversands

Perfect, is the only word I can use for this resort and the service with Trip Central the pool, the service, food was excellent, entertainment was also EXCELLENT at night, room is very clean ! I would go back right now if I could !

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Very nice resort

This resort has excellent food, pools, and entertainment staff. We had some trouble in our room but after a phone call the men came and fixed the problems in a very short time. The entertainment staff were excellent people, by always giving you something to do. Especially when it rained. They had lots of games to keep you active. The room was always clean, as well as the rest of the grounds. One very nice thing we found was that the main pool was heated. The beach was not very nice, as there was [... read more] a lot of sea weeds and dirty water. The other thing we did not like was that after getting to the resort, they waisted our time trying to explain about their spa tickets and the time share deal they have for Secrets. The next time we go I will just say please just give us the room key and go off to enjoy the day.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Secrets Siversands Excellente

Went to Secrets Silversands in Puerto Morleos Mexico and had a great time. Food was great room was spacious and entertainment was most enjoyable. There was always something to do especially when it rained. Resort was kept nice and clean. would go back in a heart beat.

Secrets Royal Beach: Great resort - terrible a la cartes restaurants.

Great grounds, excellent service, great beach. Sub par food. Buffet was ok, but restaurants were not good. Three times left the restaurant and headed to the buffet. The Beaches resorts in PuntaCana have much better food. Would not return.

Secrets Royal Beach: Room for improvement to be a 5 star

This is a hard review to write as there were a lot of good things this resort has to offer. I would rate the resort a 3.5 out of 5. We booked though TripCentral and had a great experience with them. Everything was in order and they handled all our requests. 1st let me start by saying that my wife and I travel about twice a year to Mexico and this is our first time to the DR. We have stayed at Secrets Silversands, El Dorado Royale Casitas, The Royal in Cancun twice (it is now the Hyatt Zilara), S [... read more]un Palace, and Secrets the Vine 3 times. Based on that, we have been spoiled by the level of service and realized that the little things and attention to detail really make a huge difference in our experience. Let me start with the Pros of this resort: The resort is beautiful, lush, and very well maintained. They work countless hours to keep everything in order. Clean - This resort is spotless. From your room to the public washrooms, they do a fantastic job keeping everything clean and fresh. Pools/Lazy River are very clean and amazing. One of the nicest beaches I have ever seen. Yes the seaweed can get bad, (very bad on some occasions) but the beach is wide enough where it will not affect you. Every lounger by the pool and beach has a hut to block you from the sun which is great to get a break from the heat. The rooms are excellent with a private bathroom (If you have been to Secrets the Vine before you will appreciate the privacy of the bathroom at SRB) Balcony is private with a 2 person Jacuzzi tub. Having access to the Now Larimar was an added touch. With more variety of restaurants to choose from was an added benefit. If you like a buffet breakfast and lunch, the larger buffet is on the Now side. For the most part the food was good. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian one on the SRB side called Portofino. Amazing nightly entertainment. I was able to see the circus show and they are very talented do a great job in entertaining the entire audience. I want to highlight several staff that were exceptional in what they did and really made an effort for us to have a special trip. 1st is Raquel Torres the E-Concierge. We were in contact with her prior to arriving and she did a fantastic job taking care of our reservation and our upgrade to preferred status prior to arriving as well as a few other requests. You were a great help and thank you! 2nd, Marcelo our butler, went above and beyond to ensure things were in order. He checked in on us daily and even took a few special requests. Thank you for everything Marcelo. 3rd, Gendry and Angel at the main pool were the best servers we have ever had as a pool side server. They spent a lot of time talking and getting to know us. They even helped to teach us some Spanish. Their timing was excellent with bringing us our next round of drinks without even asking. They also helped us with getting seats each day by the pool. Even though there were always lots of seats it is nice to know they were there to help. Thank for the excellent service and Angel, good luck with your bambino Now for the cons. Even though there were a lot of positives so far. I cannot rate this a 5 star based on knowing what 5 star service is. To get a 5 star you need to close the gap on a lot of the small things. 1st is getting the food and drink order right the first time, maybe even the 2nd time would be nice....(Not including the pool bar, as Gendry and Angel always got it right) There were several times during the week we would go to a restaurant and order food and it would come wrong. For example: We went to Seaside grill once for lunch and my wife ordered a chicken burger with pickles and tomato's. (On the menu they even have pictures of the toppings to choose from) Well the first time it came with just the tomato. When we asked for pickles again, they brought a plate of onion's and lettuce. We said no, we want pickles. Then they brought us cucumbers and guacamole......What? How can you get this wrong twice???? I blame this on language barrier but they should be able to get it right after pointing it out on the menu. After the 3rd time we just got up and left in frustration and went to the buffet. At another restaurant we ordered a couple of drinks and we each ended up with wrong drinks. We ordered them again and again they came wrong. It is very frustrating that waiters cannot take a proper order and actually get what we asked for. This happened about 6 times during the first 3 days. It came to a point we just started to go to the buffet to serve ourselves as opposed to ordering something and it comes wrong. If one of us got something wrong the other would wait and then our food would get cold while waiting to eat together. This should not be the case and should be improved. You could either write down the order or if you are not 100% on what we are asking for find some else to come and clarify. 2nd Lack of bottled water. Daily the resort would run out of bottled water around the same time (1-2PM). If you go to any pool bar and ask for a bottle of water they would have none. They should know this was a pattern and be proactive to order more the day prior. I figured it out on day 2 that they had a shortage of water. They should know it too and address it. All they need to do is restock the water at each location between 12 and 1 when people go to eat to have enough for the rest of the afternoon. Same thing with Coors Light and Budwieser. We had to ask several times to our concierge for extra bottled water, daily actually and still sometimes would not get it. 3rd The service at the buffet on the Secrets side. When you first arrive no one brings you to your seat. When you want to seat yourself one of the servers IF they make eye contact will just point and aggressively say "sit there". It just comes off as being very rude that I have to sit at that seat as opposed to first being greeted and escorted to a table. I know they are busy but there should be a hostess there to escort you to a seat. Then to get coffee or water is a chore. We would each ask for water and coffee. Just getting a glass of water was very difficult. You would have to ask 2-3 times and they seemed very annoyed to give it to you. We would leave to get food at the buffet and only come back to either one coffee on the table or only one glass of water. Then the process would begin to get a 2nd cup. This seemed like a common thing that if 2 people sit down that each would be serviced water even without asking. I expect that at any restaurant no matter where I am at. They did not seem to get that concept. My wife and I would each like our own glass of water and not have to share it. By day 3 we sat near server’s station just so we could serve ourselves a glass of water as this did not improve. By day 4 we tried the Now breakfast buffet and it was a treat that our server actually came to greet us with a pitcher of water. They kept refilling our water without us asking which is what we expected at the SRB side. We ended up going to the Now side the rest of the week and enjoyed a wonderful level of service there included with smiles. 4th Barefoot Grill is disgusting and needs to be changed. I know it is just a little spot outdoors to grab something fast to eat. If you watch them you can see that they are using the same utensils for both chicken and hamburgers. This is not sanitary and I would not eat there. When we first experienced this we did not notice that they leave there chicken soaking in grease until after we ordered it. My wife ordered a chicken burger and I ordered a hamburger. Not really paying attention at the start but while he was cooking we noticed that he was flipping the chicken and the hamburger with the same tongs. When someone else came up to order he used the same tongs to get a new piece of chicken from the grease pit and put it on the fryer. Flys were on the buns and the toppings looked like they had been there for way too long and out and open as well. At that point we both just walked away as we knew we would not be able to eat that without getting sick. 5th The Gym. My wife and I are very physically active and start each morning with a workout. The gym on the resort is very small and not inviting. There are 4 little rooms with very little equipment which is hard to maneuver around to do anything. I watched the person running the gym approach several people during the week if he did not like what you were doing. Someone came in and he asked her to go outside and wipe her sneakers before coming in. It was not raining and her sneakers looked very clean and dry so no need to make her feel like that. I watched him tell some women that they could not do step ups on a bench or split squats using a bench. Another person came in to look around and he was asked to leave as he had flip flops on. I know it is not save to have flip flops on in a gym but at least let him look around for a minute before asking him to leave. We have been to a lot nicer resort gyms and this one needs some improvements. They also left the door open a lot which meant the temperature was over 25 degrees Celsius which as you can imagine is pretty uncomfortable to workout in. We closed the door just for them to open it again. The gym was very clean though, one positive. Overall it was not a great trip, but maybe a good trip. As I mentioned at the start. We have been spoiled from experiences at other resorts. Our last experience before here was Secrets the Vine, so coming to SRB was disappointing with the drop off in the service. We do love AM Resorts and the Secrets brand (no we are not members) which was one of the reasons why we chose this resort. In the end we will be returning back to STV for our next trip.

Secrets St James: Loved it!

This is a great resort! Beautiful beaches and large pools. There are lots of choices for restaurants and you are not stuck with one option for lunch like some other places. The menus have lots of variety and the food is above average. The staff everywhere is very friendly. Although all inclusive means all tips and gratuities included, I noticed that most people tip. Also maybe be hard to find a spot on the beach is you are not up by 8 am.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Exceeded Expectations

Great staff, very friendly, capable and professional. Meals were exceptional; especially in Mexican, French, Asian and Italian restaurants. Bartenders were very capable and mixed some interesting drinks. Beach staff wonderful. Entertainment was top rate. Seaweed a bit of an issue as it is in the rest of the Caribbean but staff were working hard to make the beach pleasant. In any case the many pools were pristine.

Secrets St James: Was an amazing resort.

The hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly. Both pools and lounging areas were awesome. Bartenders, waiters and waitresses were amazing and we had excellent service by all. It was just overall a very nice, friendly resort. Had an excellent holiday.

Secrets Huatulco: Fabulous Location

Hotel is great, it is modern, adult only, the food is fantastic, drinks are great and the service is excellent. The weather is to die for. Sunshine everyday and temperatures around 30 - 33 everyday. The staff are very friendly and helpful. English is very good.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Just OK

Visited this resorts with two other couples for a long weekend. This food was good and staff very nice. The room itself was showing signs of wear -upon arrival we discovered we were in a back corner and had noise and smell issues. Also torn linens plumbing problems and lighting problems.it would have been nice if they were more accommodating about switching bring. We eventually did end up moving but it was a tiresome battle to get there. With only three days to relax this was unfortunate.The poo [... read more]l was part of our highlights especially the sunset from the infinity pool. Preferred club not worth it. The beach was the worst part. Not swimmable. Not great for walking up and down. If you are a beach person I would definitely stay away

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Small friendly resort

Great resort, no kids, great food and drinks, staff are amazing. We had ground floor pool view room, could just walk right out to pool and bar. Would definatley return. Did I mention how great the staff are.
