Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

Truly enjoyed every moment at this resort. Every staff member was courteous but more importantly they were genuine. The resort is well kept especially the gardens and the beach is wonderful. I will be returning for sure.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort

Beautiful gardens, beach and pool. Snorkelling was amazing! Gardeners at work daily keeping things neat and sweeping walkways. General public areas well maintained. Rooms were very clean. Yes, some food shortages on some days but not really an issue, lots to eat. The staff were amazing and so willing to accommodate. That more than made up for rooms bring slightly dated some fixtures about resort could do with a bit of maintenance. Public washrooms while clean( important factor) lacked some lock [... read more]s on doors or working hand dryers. A la cartes pretty good, lack of wine first week we were there but no issues second week. The few negative issues are not enough to keep you from visiting this beautiful resort.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: great resort 4th. trip to Cuba and this is by far the best

this is an awesome resort for Cuba, well maintained,rooms are very nice and kept clean, modern faculities,staff very helpful and friendly, food is very good and a good variety, pools are excellent and cleaned daily as the walking paths and pool area. One thing I would like to see is umbrellas for the sun, they have sun beds and half have a top but there are not enough and they are gone so fast in the morning, towels on them and half of them are empty until the afternoon

Brisas Guardalavaca: Absolutely gorgeous

The Hotel stay was fabulous, staff were great and respectful and when asked for things they acted right away. I definitely will be going back . I hope to return next year with my family we all had a wonderful time.

Is beautiful very clean, people are very nice, one disappointed with no wine and no fault of theirs , other than that very good, food was ok bring your own condiments , we brought gifts which is nice for them

We went for seven days in March 2023 on the Royal Service section. We were blessed with sunny days during the entire stay! We enjoyed their beautiful quiet and private beach. We also went to the main beach for snorkelling and for a catamaran ride. We started every day at the beach to finish at the pool. Both areas, on the RS side, are well maintained and excellent bar service was provided! Bartenders would go around to take your orders and would prepare the best tropical drinks! From mojitos [... read more] to piña coladas, all were delicious! At this resort, you will definitely find very good food and excellent service in all the restaurants! Even if beef, fish, and shrimps were not available, they always managed to prepare delicious cuisines. Their soups are so so good! Their hospitality were at the top! The entire area was well maintained and very clean! You will see gardeners working hard every day. The RS lobby is very well maintained and very clean. Our room service was impeccable; the maids with their beautiful art figures with the towels, the concierge people, and the butlers, with their quick response to our needs! From the jacuzzi set ups, restaurant and spa reservations, and to a variety of tips and advice! The bar fridge was filled every day and personalized according to our need. They have carts going around and the drivers are very nice and polite! What improved from our last visit is the communication about the daily activities happening at the main lobby. It’s now posted on a screen and accessible on the RS side. So, we did participate to a few this time around. What we missed, the classical and Cuban entertainers every evening on the RS side but it was okay, since it gave us a chance to connect with other Canadian travellers. Really enjoyed it! The entertainment was more at the main lobby and at the returned guests supper which is a definite must! We also went to the spa for a relaxing part of a day and massage! Aaaahhh... the best! Beautiful salted pool and private beach, it’s a must! The staff members are very kind and very attentive to your needs! We will definitely be back!! This resort is highly recommended! This was our third visit to this resort and looking forward to our fourth!

Grand Memories Holguin: All I can say is NO

I don't complain about resorts in Cuba because after all it is Cuba don't get me wrong, there are great places to stay and we have been very happy at other locations in Cuba. However when you have to pay $5.00 CA for a bottle of pop, (in our case diet pop) to be brought in because they tell you "there is no pop on all the island" and we don'tdring alcohol, its a bit much. The hydro went in and out at least once each day and the 2 hour non-stop bus ride was just too much.

Playa Pesquero: This was an amazing resort!

We had a wonderful time at this 5Star Resort. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The accommodations were delightful and our time here was a true vacation. I would recommend this resort highly. This was our second trip here and we plan to come back next year.

Playa Pesquero: Decent vacation

We’re at the resort for March break. We had a great time. The grounds were beautiful. The room was dated but clean. The ac worked properly and the shower water pressure was good. The food was hit and miss. They had shortages of everything. We had wine one night only. Few days we had butter in the morning and few days cheese. Their pineapple and papaya was very good. The best of all was the beach. We enjoyed the catamaran and the paddle boat. The sport center was a very nice feature. They [... read more] were in need of tennis rackets, volleyball, and ping pong balls. Just writing this for the future guests that enjoy these sports to bring their own equipment and possibly donate it. We gave away Tylenol, Advil, optical glasses, kids clothes and they appreciated that. Tips in cdn were appreciated. Overall was a good experience. Kids had a great time.

Grand Memories Holguin: A TRIP TO HELL!!!!!!!!!

This is clearly a Sunwing hotel. As they partially own it, all others not booking through them are not welcome. Sunwing (diamond and gold club) immediate check. All others line up for over two and a half hours checking in. Sunwing (diamond and gold club members) allowed to book priority Alacarte restaurants all others line up for over an hour to get what's left. TI was not able to book the Japanees restaurant at all during my 14 days and the Italian only once. No mixed drinks. At the bar there  [... read more]was only one bartender who is instructed to serve (diamond and gold club first) and all others only if when there is a break in their orders. International drinks are Johnny walker red, Vat 69 and Jaminson for regular customers (red band). They ran out of cola again for people with the red band but lots for the customers wearing the diamond club band. )Desserts were chocolate ice cream and red shreaded beets. :NO PASTRIES". They ran out of eggs and bread for days. They had bedbugs on the fourth floor in section "E", room 2436 and sandbugs in the sand on the beach which when bitten leave welts the size of a dime for seven days. Both required shots at the hotel clinic. No liquor, cigar or coffee sales at the hotel. Closest place is Antilla a $60.00 dollar taxie ride. Hola Sun did not supply me with a ride to the airport for my air transat flight but for the good graces of the kind sunwing rep was able to hitch a ride on their bus. otherwise it would have cost me a $200.00 CDN taxie fare. The return flight home was ane hour late due to an equipment failure at the Holguin airport. No their fault and they handled the situation well with courtisy and professionalism.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great resort!

This resort was great. A bit worn but clean. We had all the necessities, clean sheets, towels both in our room and for the beach. The beach was amazing ! There were enough chairs, the service was good, we changed our towels every day,sometimes twice in the day. We did tons of snorkeling, fish to see everyday. The food was awful. Only one menu for all restaurants and buffet. If you are going for the food, this is not the place but everything else was fabulous.

Playa Pesquero: Relaxing!

Let me be clear, nothing "ruined" our vacation. It was great weather, beautiful beach and water and some of the friendliest and most humble people I've met in many travels throughout the Caribbean. That said, Cuba is in a very dire situation which affects the food & dining experience. Beer was plentiful but water was hard to come by on some days in the amount us northerners require when in the tropics. None of this of course is the fault of the resort or people. But it was enough to make me hesitate to return right away. I really can't say if I would recommend or not but if you do go, lower expectations and enjoy the beach and great coffee bar in the lobby!

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

Pros: The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. No musty smells and the cleaning staff is constantly working. Beach is gorgeous with lots of seating (if you want an umbrella / palapa you have to get up at 6 am to reserve, but if you are fine with just chairs there are plenty to go around). Rooms and beds are lovely - we had great sleeps. Thursdays is Canada Day - they served poutine and lobster on the beach which was fun Wednesdays is Cuba Day - they had a celebration with Mojitos, pi [... read more]gs on a spit and lots of food at the la Roca restaurant (closest to the beach) Fun games room by the lobby with pool, foosball, pin ball and PS4/Xbox Tripcentral did a great job and made trip very easy! Neutral: Food - same stuff over and over - par for the course Beer was very good Cons: A la cartes weren't great and difficult to book - you can only book on Saturday for the week?! Mixed drinks - weren't good, made differently at each bar, no fun drinks for the kids or fun drinks for adults. Man playing accordian on beach singing at tops of lungs Music too loud at pool from 10 am to 4 pm daily.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Perfect Vacation

I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never been to this part of Cuba before or this resort. Everything was beyond my expectations. The resort was absolutely beautiful. The staff was the best I have ever had the pleasure of being with. The food was delicious. The weather was terrific. The sights were breathtaking. I have never gone to the same resort twice but will definitely be going back to this resort next year--hopefully for 2 weeks. I would rate my experience a 12 out of 10!

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Relaxing vacation.

A happy return to our favourite Cuban resort. More buffet space as only one side of the resort has re-opened. Food variety was good. Rooms are upgraded with walk-in showers. A new centrally located disability washroom is much appreciated!! We’re looking forward to using the “quiet pool” again when renovations are completed on the Luna side of the resort. Nice upgrade on the beach washroom too. Thanks to our old friends for the warm “welcome back”!!! (Feb 10 to 24 visit.)

Playa Pesquero: Good vacation for the price

We've been to PP resort March 5-14 2023. Beautiful resort. We were in building 22 - very quite area. Clean rooms. Despite reviews saying that food supply is very limited, we found it not bad at all. All kind of vegetables, meet (pork and chicken only) was very tasty. Flambé and all sorts of coffee were fantastic. First 3 days there was no bananas, but than they were added to papaya, water melon and pineapples. There were no seafood except some razor clams and small fish for 3 days. No cocktails [... read more] variety, but gin and tonic was not bad. Several days there was no red/white vine at all, but sparkling vine was OK. No long lines in the buffet. Pretty funny menus in the a la carte restaurants. Lot of items were not available, so we end up with the same food served in the buffet. We have cancelled 2 out of 3 reservations after the first visit. Snorkeling was very different from what we had before in other resorts. You have to swim 300-400 m off shore to see corals and fish. But the water was so clean, you can see all details 8 meters down to the bottom. Massage was fantastic. As well as stretches, yoga and especially dancing classes with Liony! On the way back, in the bus air transat rep gave us wonderful introduction to Cuban life and described everything we passed. He even sang! Air Transat planes were comfortable, phone app was very helpful.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great resort!

This resort was very nice. The people were great. The beach was amazing. Always a chair at the beach. All staff was great and did what they could to make your stay a enjoyable one. We would definitely go back to this Resort! Thanks for the great time.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Bed bugs!

I stayed at Brisas Guardalavaca for 4 nights in March 2023 and was bitten several times by bed bugs. The staff allowed me to change rooms. They could not tell if the problem was bed bugs or tiny red ants

Playa Pesquero: Very nice to be back to Cuba but...

Playa pesquero resort was great and met all expectations, because it's Cuba and you don't go there expecting luxury and great meals. That being said, the beach and coast line in Holguin is second to none. The water is so clear you'd think you're in aquatic heaven. The sad part is how Cubans seem to have lost their pride. They're having a real hard time now due to many obvious reasons and it's heartbreaking to see and hear how difficult it is for them.
