Tropical Deluxe Princess: Loved It!

Everything was lovely. Resort was very clean, room cleaned immaculately. We requested a main floor room which we got, close to pool, beach was just beyond the pool and buffet was directly across from us. Best location really. Only problem was our room was very tight as far as putting clothes away. There is a hanging closet but virtually nothing other than 2 small drawers for everything else. No shelves or hooks for hanging towels. We do plan to return.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: A Perfect Getaway!

A 5 Star hotel, that is probably a 4.5 in reality (showing some age/signs of wear and tear), but still beautiful amenities. The food was excellent, lots of variety and great flavours, nothing bland. The staff and servers were amazing, going out of their way to ensure coffee/drinks are always full. The beach is gorgeous with plenty of chairs in both the sun and the shaded areas. Some small 1"x1" tiles on the sides and floor of the pool are coming loose/falling off. Lots of entertainment to take part in in all areas, both during the day and at night. It seemed like there were bars all over the place - never had to wait long for a drink. Rooms are clean and cool, but no private change area (our family members needed to change in the walk-in shower since the rooms are wide open with no privacy). All in all, I would definitely recommend, and I would go back again.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Trilingual Staff- Hotel Gem "Hidden In Plain Sight"

I was surprised by the gorgeous solitude of the beaches while walking a half hour in each direction ~Beyond- the East and West edges of the Bahia Principe. Where is everyone, this place is gorgeous! Buffets and A-La-Carte were amazing, specifically the Brazillian giant BBQ red meat skewers [3 feet?] the waitstaff walk around with and slice fresh to your plate. Nearby EcoTours highly recommend LimonWaterfall [horseback through the muddy trail then you climb down 800-900Meters of big stairs] please bring $25USD cash tip, we were not told ahead and it's awkward offering "volunteers" who look after the horses a payment via CreditCard. Also I suggest to tip the Bahia bar staff 50DRP or $1USD for each 2 drinks [small cups] you order or your Margarita will be sugar and salt with a splash of booze. Alternatively order beer on tap. They work really hard and "All Inclusive" doesn't mean they see much of your nightly fee. Vibe is relaxed, good mix of ages for guests, hotel wasn't overrun by screaming running children but there also weren't the loaded and loud party crews. Put your hands over your ears during the jingle at the beginning of the entertainment or it will get stuck in your head and you'll be singing it on your Excursions. Literally when I Googled it, the A.I. said guests noted singing it years after being on the trip. :]

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Lovely resort

Awesome resort, perfect size and very clean. The staff was absolutely amazing and accommodating, and the amenities were never lacking, as can sometimes be the case at smaller resorts, but not here!! The buffet offered a wide selection, with themed dinners each night, and as a picky eater myself I never went without and was always satisfied and full. Excellent and safe location (being within a larger gated resort community) and close to the airport and historical Puerto Plata. Less than a 2 minut [... read more]e walk from the mall, which had very cheap souvenirs. The shows were fantastic, and there was usually something to watch on stage as well as in the lobby. The 24 hour snack bar was very convenient and tasty. Shoutout to Caesar and his excursion company, who got us a great deal for a city tour, you can find him on the beach! It’s always best to support local companies when on vacation. I would definitely come back to this resort again!

Ocean Blue and Sand: Will return

I love this resort. This is my second time there. The food was amazing, above expectations. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The pools were beautiful. The entertainment wasn’t quite what it was the last time I went but not a deal breaker.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Large resort with great food service.

The resort is a little too big for my liking but it is nice and the ground is beautiful. Our building 35100 is dated and needs to be refreshed. The logistic behind the food service and the food itself were impressive. Congratulation to the kitchen staff. Unfortunately, the weather was not great for us but nobody is to blame for that. I would like to see a bit more entertainment in some areas even if it is just a solo musician or singer. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Punta Cana Princess: Not the 50th Anniversary we'd hoped for

We had booked a Deluxe Honeymoon Suite at the Punta Cana Princess to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The first night we were given a room that was right next to the ventilation fans for the resort's kitchen. The roof on the suite was thatched so odours came through. That night all we could smell was fish and hot oil. Next morning we asked for a room change. When we were asked why we told the concierge who replied "yes, we're aware of that problem." We were given another suite in a  [... read more]different building. The room was quite hot and we realized the air conditioning was not working. By 11 pm it was 26 degrees in the room. They moved us to another room which was very small and dusty. The balcony and chairs were covered in bird poop. Next morning we went back to the concierge and said "we want what we paid for - a Deluxe Honeymoon Suite." After some insistence they moved us to another building to a regular room - not a honeymoon suite - right next to the pool. Needless to say it was not a quiet area. Music from the pool bar, beach bar, seafood restaurant all hours of the day and night. From 3 to 530 pm music blasted from speakers set up on the pool deck by the animation team. Techno and hip hop blasted out at ear shattering levels. The air conditioning in the room spewed out a horrible mould smell. Housekeeping did their best to disguise it with cherry scented disinfectant, but we eventually had to ask maintenance to remove the vent and wash inside. This helped a bit, but still had a mouldy smell. So as you can imaging we will definitely not recommend this resort. We paid for a Deluxe Honeymoon Suite with a loft and jacuzzi and ended up in a regular room (even though the resort insisted it was a honeymoon suite) and only received the bottle of rum and fruit plate that were two of the perks that came with a Deluxe Honeymoon Suite.

Playabachata Hotel: Wonderful stay at Playabachata

Playabachata Hotel was amazing. The atmosphere, food and staff were all wonderful. The beach was stunning. Our kids enjoyed the nightly entertainment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to be back!

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Nice location

We experienced a 2 hour check in (2am before we got a room) - our friends that travelled with us and booked through Tripcentral were told they had received "no reservation" and experienced almost 4 hours before they were placed in a room "for the night" then were moved to another room, later the next day, we all lost the Saturday to enjoy our vacation, our television did not work, after reporting this twice daily, someone finally showed up to look at it, 3 days later only to say he would be b [... read more]ack " in a few minutes with a new one" - never saw them or a new TV at all.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Marien puerto plata resort

The resort is small which makes it easy to get around . The entertainment staff are very nice and the shows were pretty good. Our favourite restaurant was the Mediterranean. The buffet is small but there is always something to eat . I would go here again

Punta Cana Princess: Great time at PuntaCana Princess!

This hotel was everything we’d hoped for - beautifully kept grounds, AMAZING beach and friendly staff! Don’t listen to all the negative reviews. Sure, the buildings are a little tired and the bathroom fixtures aren’t shiney anymore. But the price reflects that and we feel it was money well spent. We loved the quiet atmosphere, with the option to party it up at the sister resort. We’ll definitely be going back, and highly recommend this resort to all our friends!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Overbooked-left without a room

Our stay at the Royalton Bávaro was disappointing to say the least. Beware of overbooking and being without a room. We travelled with 3 other families. Upon arrival 3 of the families didn’t have rooms available to check into. After 4 hours of waiting at the front desk, we were finally provided a room but not the swim out room we paid for. Our friends unfortunately were unable To get a room that night and were forced to stay in our room. We asked for blankets to accommodate the 4 additional peop [... read more]le in the room and didn’t get them until 1am. The hospitality at the resort wasn’t there. Would never stay at another Royalton again. Beware of this resort. We are not the only ones who were without proper accommodation upon arrival. From our discussions with other travellers it was an issue for the last two weeks at least.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: Seniors Vacation

Very few staff ,not much entertainment,very sparse selection of food .Very quiet ,clean rooms .This is a resort suited to an older crowd .Very pretty grounds ,but in bed by 10 .Disappointed in food selection and service.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing resort

We had a few hiccups over our room which the Majestic immediately resolved. The service ,food and experience at the Majestic Colonial was among the top Vacations we have ever had. Our butler went beyond all expectations

The entire resort was extremely well kept. The gardens, pools, beach area, restaurants, social areas were spotless. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The "ala cart" restaurants were exceptional, and even the food quality at the main buffet was great.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Nice resort.

Would not return to this resort. 9/10 of our group became sick… nausea, vomiting, diarrhea . Probably Food related…. Still recovering after returning home. This was our 3rd time to this resort…very crowded this visit… . Staff were all very pleasant .

Riu Republica: Good Facility - Mediocre Service

This resort had a very good variety of services. The room looked a bit dated and needed some real attention when it came to the washroom and air conditioner. I would not say requests for missing towels and blankets were looked after in a timely manner. For the majority of our time there we cleaned our own table at the buffet before using it. Beverages were slow in coming or didn’t come at all. We mostly looked after ourself. The pools were great. The awnings at some locations needed replaci [... read more]ng. Some of the items on the menu at the restaurants were not as advertised. The Japanese restaurant was our favourite.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful Resort!

This is a very nice resort. Our room was comfortable and very clean. Maid service was excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed all the different activities and the large pools and of course the beach. Would book this place again
