Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Paradise

We just got back from a 1 week stay at the Royalton. Rooms: clean and fresh smelling, furniture was a bit tired but you don't stay in there too long. Bed was hard, would love softer beds or a mattress cover to help with the hard mattress. Fridge was stocked daily with water. Showers: Big tub with shower, hot water every day Pool: Clean and entertainment daily which was great Food: Fresh eggs every morning, Buffet was the same every day, all of the al a Carte restaurants were open.  [... read more] Because of trading issues and Covid, supply wasn't as great as in years before but that is totally understandable. COVID: protocols stricter than Canada, Cubans have to wear their masks inside and outside. 90% of them are vaccinated including children 2 years +. You can't grab your own food at buffet, they serve you to minimize exposure. You can remove your mask outside but indoors, you must wear a mask and at dinner, you can remove it to eat when you are seated. Felt very safe Service: Amazing! They work their butts off and always with a smile Beach: Cleaned daily, plenty of palapas and ocean was amazing

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great place!!! Great team!

Just few days ago I and my wife come back from Royalton Cayo Santa Maria. I was really impressed not only by the place but also by the team, by people. They are doing everything what is possible to make us feel good, to enjoy this place, to relax, to have fun but also to have peace for reading and “meditation”, if that’s what you like. I believe here the cleanliness is high priority. Place is spotless. Alejanrdo and Michaela are taking care about team and about clients (directors?). [... read more] They are talking to us asking for our opinion and feedback. High class approach without being annoying – always pleasant conversation. Very professional people! They are fluent in many languages so there is no problem with communication. Our angel, person who is helping us in case of any question was Katia. She was sweetheart and she was very nice (her helper – too). There is a gardener, with characteristic dark hat, a titan of work, always - always busy, making “his” garden looking beautiful. So, we spend a beautiful week and we strongly recommend this place.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Fantastic family resort

The Royalton Bavaro is a beautiful, modern and clean resort perfect for couples of families. We travelled with a 6 month old and stayed in a junior swim up suite and it was phenomenal. The staff were incredible, the food was delicious with a wide variety of options, and the pools and beach were great (always a seat available). A short drive from the Punta Cana airport as well. We will definitely return!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing Hotel and Staff

Very impressed with cleanliness and friendly staff! Rooms were amazing and well cared for. Comfortable beds! Restaurants easy to get into and a great variety of food! Definitely will go back. Highly recommended!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Loved this resort!

The CHIC lived up to our expectations. Service was excellent, quality of food and drink was exceptional and newer decor was fabulous! Lots of hand sanitizer was available in washrooms and all needed to use before entering the buffet. Not all staff wore masks but guess DR like Canada have removed the mask mandate. All staff was eager to please and lots of variety of entertainment ..not your typical shows ..very creative. Diamond Club is closer to pool activities so could be a bit louder. We chose [... read more] the quieter regular rooms which was closer to the spa and gym. Good sized resort and was easy to walk to everything. One odd thing was the restaurant bookings. We were told no reservations required however you needed to put your name on a list at 6pm in order to get a time. Bit strange but that was the only complaint.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome time

We had an incredible time at the Royalton. The resort is small, clean, and beautiful. It never felt crowded, and was always relaxing. We spent most of our time at the quiet pool, which was usually almost empty and had lots of shaded space (which was important since my husband and I are both incredibly pale). The beach is also stunning—even on “rough” days it was totally swimmable, and the sand was super soft. Our room was great too. We never had a bad meal, and the lunchtime grill was a standout with excellent pork, seafood, and local specialities. We had the best calamari we’d ever had from the grill. For drinks, all the bars were good, but our pre- and post-dinner hangout was always the lobby bar, which was by far the best. We also felt super safe in regards to covid. I’m recovering from cancer treatment so was slightly paranoid, but the staff was consistently masked, all meals were a-la-carte so never over crowded, almost everyone wore masks on the buses, and we were outside for pretty much everything else. I felt totally comfortable the whole time. But what really makes the Royalton so awesome were the people. Absolutely everyone was so friendly, saying hello and stopping to chat if they could, from the GM and AGM to the gardeners (special shoutout to Luis). Our butlers were Michel and Omar. Both were excellent, surprising us with chilled champagne and a drawn bath, or helping us out with any questions we had. Omar especially stood out as absolutely top-notch—just a super nice, funny guy and always there if we needed him. He almost instantly made us feel right at home, and it felt like we’d known him for years. Andy, the community manager, was also great, stopping to chat with us poolside. Our servers and bartenders were fantastic too, remembering us and any special requests we had made previously. Really great service all around. We’ll definitely return to the Royalton and recommend it to all our friends. It was a wonderful time! The only (relatively) negative experiences we had (and like, how bad can it be when you’re sitting on a beach for a week in Cuba, right?) were: the catamaran sea tour, where we were inexplicably left on an abandoned, garbage-covered beach for an hour (it was weird), and Sunwing delays and confusion (which seems par for the course with Sunwing). These had nothing to do with the Royalton though, so we’ll be back!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Highly Recommend The Royalton, Cayo Santa Maria

The Royalton is a beautiful and clean resort. We loved all the staff and the food was great. The beach is the best EVER!! Clear, turquoise water with sandy bottom and you can walk for miles. The bar staff on the beach did a lot of running for everyone and they had the drinks all organized with your own cups. Loved it. The little snack bar on the beach was so yummy - quesadillas, grilled sandwiches and hot dogs. The staff there were also amazing and worked so hard. The entertainment staff were lots of fun and the shows in the evening were great. Loved the aqua show!! I would highly recommend this resort. The staff are so happy to be back to work - bring your tip money in Canadian or US. Make sure your bills are crisp with no tears or they cannot use them. The Cubans are beautiful people. Lets help them get back on their feet.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Beach

The hotel was very nice and well kept. The service was tremendous and the staff were exceptionally friendly. All wore masks inside and out. The entertainment staff work very hard to keep you entertained.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Would recommend

We booked our trip (two couples) approximately 3-4 weeks prior to arrival. The transfer to the resort was easy and stress free. Upon arrival we were given a cold drink and registered into the resort. Not staffs fault but very hard to hear them speaking behind the plexi glass and masks. Rooms were large and clean, although could use some TLC. Would recommend this resort for someone but I don’t think we’d go back only because I found the resort and surrounding area a bit too busy for us, maybe it was everyone booking trips once the restrictions were lifted. Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic vacation

We stayed at the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria after not being to Cuba for 13 years. The reason we had not returned to Cuba was primarily lack of comfortable accommodation and good food. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Acceptable resort.

Good location, close to the airport. Compact compound layout, easy to go from one place to another. Poor service at arrival. Tired staff, did not provide basic info about resort amenities. Butler service which was part of the package was not mentioned and not offered. Rooms were excellent, however location next to the kitchen and hvac cooling unit spoiled it. No information in the room regarding the resort, not even a map which is customary on other similar resorts. Food was excellent at the buf [... read more]fet, however pretty poor at the a la carte restaurants, with limited choice. All in all a mixture of excellent and poor experiences, which in turn makes it an overall fair experience. Resort has all ingredients to make it an excellent experience however, should the service be improved.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Heavenly Cuba -royalton

Great people , great beaches Great pool. ALL Staff was amazing . Only poor part was lobby bar was a bit slow serving drinks. Atmosphere was great except no music playing alot :( not use to that in a Cuba resort.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Beautiful resort and service!

Just returned from our week of March 25-April 1st. Beautiful, clean resort. Food was great at all of the restaurants. Our butler, Teudi looked after all of our requests from our room to reservations at the a la carte restaurants. Met with the Sunwing rep on Saturday and he assured me NO testing had to be required since we departed on April 1st. Filling out the ArriveCAN app was seamless…did it on the beach with all my information. Need to be more clarification on the QR code needed at th [... read more]e airport in order to depart the Dominican! I was fortunate enough to have it sent to me from a family member and showed it on my iPhone. Flight in and out of Hamilton was seamless.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Royalton

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. Staff members are exceptional. The grounds are well kept. The beach is stunning with many palapas available. The main pool was also quite lovely and very clean. Food was very good with many choices to suit everyone. Management was also great and remained visible and available to help out if necessary. We were very pleased with our stay here. Definitely would return.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: First Trip to Antigua Was Amazing

From the moment we arrived we were treated wonderfully. The management and all staff couldn’t do enough for us. The most courteous staff I’ve encountered at a Caribbean resort. The resort is very nice and well layed out. They are extremely on top of COVID prevention. Mask wearing by all staff at all times. Guests wore masks in restaurants other than while seated. Our temps were checked, and we sanitized our hands upon entering each restaurant. Very impressive. Entertainment was really good. [... read more] The Vibe team worked hard to engage guests in a range of activities. We highly recommend this resort.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing resort for families with young children

Beautiful resort, grounds and beach. Ideal for families- lots for kids to do. Tiny to teens there are activities and sections specific for all age ranges. Not a great place for singles or couples better suited for families, despite the casino and spa which are not highlighted much and may have been better placed at the adults only resort. Spa is outstanding and exceeded expectations. Was there week of March 26th just as masking and travel restrictions were loosened in Ontario, hard to know if [... read more] it would have been different prior, however the majority of guests were not masked. Staff were somewhat masked, mostly not to our standards of wear and not consistently. Staff were around cleaning. There were some hand sanitizers throughout the resort, some requiring touch to dispense. Buffets mean everyone touches the serving spoons and helps themselves. There was a clinic on-site for a departure rapid test for $35 USD.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful people and service

This was definitely the best resort we have stayed in in Cuba. The food was served hot and tasty. The pool and grounds were well maintained and the beach was lovely. Since most resorts still haven’t opened yet in Cayo Santa Maria we had the long beach to our selves. We felt very safe at this smaller resort with 122 rooms. All staff wore masks indoors and out. Our butler Alexis was so personable. The manager and assist manager spoke with everyone daily and chef Jesus did his rounds as well. Th [... read more]e most touching was as we left the butlers, management staff and entertainment people all waved as we left. So many resorts offer you no help on home day but this was the opposite!! We will be back maybe earlier in the year to hopefully miss the pesky little not-see bugs, we are still feeling their love. Really only down fall is the 90-120 minute bus ride. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Well deserved vacation

2nd time at this resort. Wonderful staff and delicious food! Appreciated that restaurants opened earlier than at most other resorts and that masking policy was strictly enforced in all restaurants. Numerous pools, but we spent most of our time at the beach. Any negatives are so minor and not worth commenting on after the last 2 years we’ve experienced. It was a wonderful vacation!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: A Royal vacation!

We received a royal welcome when we arrived at the Royalton with a glass of champagne and plenty of smiles. The service, atmosphere and friendly atmosphere at this cozy resort made it a pleasure to get up every morning! From the gardener, the room maid, the butler, the waiters and even the resort manager Alejandro and assistant manager Mikaela! The beaches are the most beautiful we have seen at any resort! We would return in a heartbeat!

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Would never go back!

Royalton Splash is not what it used to be according to past reviews. Quick recap: great beach, food ok, service very bad. Not worth the $ not upgrading to Diamond Club. Royalton Punta Cana is much better!
