Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Best resort Ever

We got to Grand Bahia Principe and thought it was so beautiful. when we were checking in we got upgraded for free to Esmerelda.. What a place.. the whole resort was wonderful.. We would love to go back next year..

Tropical Deluxe Princess: Good ...but improvements needed

At this resort Jan. 26th to Feb. 2. 2017. The resort is a bit dated, but beautiful! The grounds and plants are kept nice! There is wildlife on the resort meaning...birds, peacocks, ducks, turtles...oh and some cats! The path from the rooms to the lobby has all swamp with the wildlife. It was pretty interesting to see...but some did not like this wildlife on the resort. Rooms were kept clean! Pools were well cleaned. The beach, extremely lovely with nice soft sand. The bar staff great but don't k [... read more]now all the drinks..and I mean popular drinks like margarita on the rocks..not that slushi stuff. I felt like the restaurant (buffet) staff not motivated! Especially with us wearing silver wristband. Others who wore orange , purple or blue wristbands was escorted to their tables and waiter and waitresses serving them drinks and continuous service! We, with silver wristbands did not get much service.The front reception were also not motivated. we had plastic key issues (not being able to open our room) and I waited and waited at the reception for guy to come give me another key ( about half hour) Our patio door did not open...too difficult.(old). The food was good, but not great! We only had two a la carte restaurants which were "the Brazillian restaurant" and the "Dominican restaurant". The other colored wristbands were able to choose 4 a la cart restaurants! We did not know this at time of booking that based on price and wristbands colors we would have less or more! Chiggers...are there and make sure you have repellent to keep them off of you. These mites bite and my legs were covered and so very itchy. ..I had about 130 bites. If you have allergic reactions like me...these bites swell and are more intense itchy and take weeks to go away! Anyways..overall the resort wasn't bad...but for a 4 star and the money for this resort...should have been better. I am not hard to please....but staff were not smiling and again not motivated...even tipping didn't get them moving much. I guess I didn't tip enough...who knows! The resort is beautiful..and colorful buildings had tropical character! I would recommend this resort. But I would not go back unless they improve on some things!

Riu Republica: Rui Republica Punta Cana

Very big hotel but very friendly staff. All the restaurants were buffet style except the Steak house, and there you only got to order your Main coarses. Not one Restaurant had a washroom!! So you had to go back to your room(which for us was a very long walk) Or head back to the Lobby washroom. For being a new hotel it was not over the top for a Rui. We have stayed at 3 or 4 Rui's in the past and found this one a little disappointing.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Unforgettable vacation at Sirenis

I've read many good and bad reviews about Sirenis Cocotal. Some of them were so bad that I had seconds thoughts in going there. But I'm glad I did; here's what I experienced great, good and bad, with my family: GREAT: buffet food (variety, tasty, none of us got sick). GOOD: lobby was big, nice music, grounds were kept nice, lovely gardens. Room was ok, clean, no bugs, just some small ants. Room smelled nice, no nasty smells, and it was spacious. I was in block E on the 3rd floor. BAD: the tub in the washroom was very old, rusty, but we only used it to shower so we didn't really care. The rest of the washroom was nice. The restaurants (we booked one almost each evening; the service was extremely slow and not much variety in food; waiters were fast and hard working but it wasn't enough of them I think. We would have been better eating at the awesome buffet each night instead of wasting time going to the restaurants. But in the end we made it fun). OVERALL: more pluses than minuses, we loved it here, and I would go back anytime!

TRS Turquesa: Wonderful Trip!

The grounds were lovely. The pools were great - but it was impossible to get a spot around the main pools. The beach was wonderful and we easily found spots throughout the day. Swim up pools are awesome - and those areas allowed us to have bar service and sit in the sun on a lounger by the pool. Food was great, especially at the Royal Gourmet. There are language barriers. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Over crowded resort!

We booked our stay to Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana ( Royal Golden ) when we arrived we were upgraded to Luxury Grand Bahia Esmeralda ( adults only ) only good thing about that upgrade was the fact of having no kids around the pools screaming and splashing same for the buffet res. Normally don't write reviews because we went to Punta Cana 5 times before and never had problems but honestly this time it wasn't a great stay..... An overprice resort, can't have a good spot with space to breath on the beach no matter what time since the spot you have gets overcrowded by the minute so you're basically touching the other chairs with your own, feeling invaded and no space to move while sitting on your chair. Water itself 4/5, beach area 2/5. Pool sides were nice and a bit more private, 4/5. Way to much walking around the grounds, it gets annoying to get on the shuttle to get around. Nightly shows at your complex were lame, boring and very short since the main shows are held at the Bahia P.C but not worth going since again overcrowded and lots of kids 2/5. Were allowed to book 4 a la carte dinner, that was unfair since we couldn't even get 1 reservation throughout our stay since it was all booked 0/5.... Buffet food was repetitive , tasteless and cold meat was either under/over cooked when you asked them to reheat or cook it more/less they said no and many nights by 7;30pm they would ran out of certain food... Breakfast food was just your simple every day food nothing special like a station for fresh crepes, waffles ect every other resort we stayed at had those little extra which was good. Overall food rating 1/5. Lobby bars were small, boring and just no life at all, 1/5. Room was very simple expected more for the $ paid, 3/5.... Our room was on the 4th floor only room, way to many stairs to get to it after your day 2/5. Staff, most don't speak english and many pay more attention to their phones then clients, not the most friendly staff and service is slow, 2/5. Not impressed at all with our stay, pricing is very high for what you get. Overall rating this resort is only a 2-3 star out of 5, would not recommend at all to anyone. Stayed as a couple end of January, 2017.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Will be Amazing Resort

I think this resort will be amazing in time. Our room was very nice, we had no problems at all. The fit and finish was not there. The groute on tile work is falling out already and the shower drain doesn't have enough slope so the water drains into the bedroom area. We had a swim up room, the 1st one we were assigned was on the outside of the resort facing the bush, if you like a quite spot this is good, but remember there are no swim up bars and nothing to look at but bush. We were able to [... read more] move to the center of the resort where you saw activity, people and a swim up bar to go to. Our room had a 2nd powder room easily accessible from the pool. The swim up room has its own steps to access the pool. The grounds are coming along beautifully as they are young plants growing. Well lite walkways. The food was not always labelled which makes it difficult to know what it is, it was plentiful and fresh. In general our trip was amazing, the staff was out of this world, they look after you well, the resort very clean. For a brand new resort things are running fine, they will only get better! We would go back.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Busy resort

Friendly service, a little slow, would go to ala cartes more. Buffets are the same but good . Very out going workers, very appreciative . For the price a 7 outta 10. Great entertainment too!!! Lovely beach, clean I found . Great pool side activities if your into that

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Terrific Resort

The grounds were well kept; food great and lots of variety; lovely spacious rooms; staff friendly and very helpful; and the nightly entertainment was just fabulous. Had a wonderful time there. Would return again.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great place especially for kids and elders

Just came back from this place and we enjoyed it. We traveled with our 18 month old and were very pleased staying here. We had a lot of fun at the beach which had a bit of algae but very clean. It was also very stroller and wheel chair accessible with wooden paths going very close to the beach The shuttles came very often and was very practical to go everywhere. We only ate at the main buffet as its easier with our baby but service was friendly and food was good and a lot of variety [... read more]. Rooms are big, spacious and clean but not the most comfortable beds.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Overall property very good

The grounds are always very well kept, staff is friendly, food excellent. Ambar Blue needs a refresh. Check out the new Fantasia section it's amazing, brand new, the lobby, the hotel, the restaurants, everything about this section is stunning. This was our 3rd trip to this resort, first in the Punta Cana Section, then Ambar Green, and our last trip Ambar Blue. Location of Blue is very good, but is much older. Had a ton of fun doing the aqua spin class and the surf yoga - both were excellent  [... read more]and are at Ambar Green pool. Don't miss it. We will return to try Fantasia next trip.

Occidental Punta Cana: Great resort

Very clean, but the service could be a little faster and people should not be ignored, I felt like sometimes the servers did not want to serve us because we did not tip all the time. The rooms were very clean resort was clean did have an issue at check in but it was resolved quickly

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazingly huge yet intimate resort!

Loved that we could take advantage of entire property because we stayed on the luxury Ambar Green side! So unbelievably clean and beautiful everywhere. The A.G side was quiet and relaxing...and we loved the entertainment each night. Never had trouble finding loungers poolside or beach!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fabulous vacation !!!

We had an excellent stay in Punta Cana at The Luxury Grand Bahia Principe Esmerelda. We visited Jan 20-29th 2017 and will definitely return. It sure is a large resort but we never felt crowded and everyone was happy to help. Tripcentral is a good agent to book with and we were really pleased with our booking.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beau et grand

Très beau resort. La section adulte était plus calme. Très bien mangé, plage magnifique. Dommage que plusieurs viennent y réserver des places aux aurores... on trouvait des chaises à toute heure mais un peu plus loin. Seul hic du voyage, comme c'est grand, il y a du bruit: le soir des fêtards qui reviennent bruyamment à leur chambre, au matin, des gens qui sortent en claquant la porte, le personnel de l'hôtel qui décide de brosser le plancher des couloirs à 8h du matin... on était pr [... read more]ès du lobby et des show y sont présentés jusqu'à 22h30! Impossible de se reposer avant, on les aurait cru dans notre chambre.... Pour les resto à la carte, les meilleurs sont toujours pris.... heureusement que le buffet est très varié et excellent. Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Wedding destination

We enjoyed our stay. Come for a wedding of our cousin...beautiful backdrop...the ocean!!! Large place with many different pools to change up the days rest and relaxation. Sad day when it was time to go home = (

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: We liked the kids waterpark

The kid's waterpark was fantastic for us. My 3 year old son had that most amazing time playing there each morning. We were lucky though that my son fell below the required height to be allow to play on the small slides because a lot of families experience issues - young children (perhaps tall for their age) who were not under 111 cm weren't allowed on the smaller slide and children who were between 111 cm and 119 cm weren't allowed on any slides at all. This is a serious flaw in the resort polic [... read more]ies and needs to be fixed. The flooring around the splash pad is beautiful but very slippery. This also should be fixed as people were getting hurt. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find out that although we had been informed that we could use all of the amenities of The Royalton, we could actually only use 1 pool, 1 small area on the beach and 2 restaurants, which weren't that great. To ensure that we enjoyed the vacation we thought we had booked, we had to pay $775 CDN for the 4 adults in our group to be able to eat and use the amenities of The Royalton. Our room at Memories was horrible. We paid for a premium room, close to the waterpark. Our room was far from "premium". Our relatives who did not pay for a premium room, close to the waterpark, had a better room than us and were closer to the waterpark. Our first room had a postage sized balcony with an opening of approximate a foot and a half, which was looking into a bush across the street from a wall. There was no natural sunlight going into the room. We quickly asked to move. Our request was accommodated. The room we were moved to was closer to the waterpark and had a much better balcony however, the room stunk, there were no doors on the closet and the shower leaked. We tried to upgrade to stay at a Royalton room, however, the resort was fully booked and even if it hadn't been booked, we would've had to pay another $775 CDN. Since we didn't want to waste any more of our vacation moving rooms within Memories, we stayed in this room. The resort activities are posted to the tvs in each room. Since the tv in our room didn't work, this made it very difficult to know what events were scheduled. The beach is beautiful. There are a few pools, which was great because it provided variety. Activities at the pool don't start until 3 p.m. which was disappointing. The Kids Club was ok when the activities in the calendar/schedule weren't cancelled or moved to a location unknown to guests. Parents don't tell your kids about the events in advanced because Kids Club staff often cancelled events without notice. For example, because we had experienced on several occasions that kids events didn't proceed as indicated on the schedule, 30 minutes before the Super Hero party I called the Kids Club to confirm that the party was proceeding as scheduled. I was ensured that the party was taking place 30 minutes later. We waited in the designated location. 15 minutes after the party was to have started, I inquired and was informed that the party had been cancelled. The staff at the resort were very nice. Knowing Spanish would help considerably. Although the resort is large, the shuttle busses run every couple of minutes and stop often throughout the resort. The walk from the kids waterpark to The Royalton is nice though. It's like walking through the jungle. The gym is in The Royalton section. It's small. It was kept very clean. The nighttime shows were enjoyable. The Michael Jackson show was incredible. Since we ate and played at The Royalton, I can't provide much further of review of Memories.

Punta Cana Princess: Everything we hoped for and more!

We liked everything about this resort. The size was perfect. We like small resorts where everything is within close proximity. It is very clean and well maintained. The grounds are very lush and green with flower bushes. The décor is modern and tasteful. We were very pleased with our room but would have preferred a better view. The only thing I would modify about the rooms are the mattresses. We loved the king size bed but it was quite hard. I would also suggest adding magnifying mirrors in th [... read more]e bathroom for applying makeup. I found the lighting made it difficult to see what I was doing. We loved taking long walks on the beach and laying by the pool. The gradual entry pool is a plus! The restaurants were all very good as well. The one thing that sticks in our minds the most is the wonderful staff who work so hard everyday. They make you feel special and welcome. A special thank you to Raphael who makes great omelettes, Raysa for all her welcoming smiles, Yosaira for her attentive bar service, and Alexander the Great for taking good care of us. We would definitely go back to Punta Cana Princess again someday...

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: staff are excellent

we just returned from a week at CHIC Punta Cana, Jan 23-30. The hotel was clean, well organized, and friendly. The staff were friendly, very good with English, and helpful. service was fast and thorough. rarely an empty cup, glass, or plate. We liked the 'no reservation' policy in the a la cartes. It worked well. The food was very good. Mind the floor in the buffett, as it can get slippery. Servers and bartenders are steady and fast. My new best friend is LUIS in the pool bar. We stayed in t [... read more]he 6000 block and did not get the diamond club. We didn't miss it, and many guests that had it, didn't see the extra value. but that is heresay. The swim-up rooms are an extra to the diamond club, and they sure looked nice, but the sacrifice is privacy. Saurel [Mr. Solution] was ready to fix any concerns. The resort is small, so everything was close by. I didn't find the peddlars too pushy, but stay clear of getting roped into the timeshare corral. It is a PITA, but everybody has to have a job, I guess. The entertainment staff was good and kept things from getting too quiet. The bracelet/ room key item worked great. Never seen that before, and what a great idea. This was our 4th trip to the DR, and 2nd to Punta Cana. Uvero beach was nice, and a stretch of newer resorts along there. beach was clean, and swimming in the ocean wasn't to rough. ocean bottom was sandy, so not much snorkeling at the hotel. All in all a beautiful resort, a few little things but nothing that was of concern. I would recommend CHIC to anyone looking for a nice clean resort, without too much partying. Occidental Punta Cana: Highly recommended

The resort itself was beautiful and had a long stretch of beachfront. It wasn't too busy when we went so there were always two seats available by the pool or at the beach. FOH staff had a poor habit of smiling and nodding when you'd raise a concern and give the impression they understood and would follow up; then never would. Food was great, even the buffets were decent. Steakhouse and Italian were our favourites.
