Punta Peninsula Varadero: Nice Resort
The hotel was clean, grounds were kept nice. It was a large resort although only half was being used. The lobby was beautiful and a very comfy place to hang out in the morning and evening. Our room was brightly painted which made it feel larger. Tons of mosquitos- we think because of being right by the marina. Staff were mostly quite friendly! We were mostly satisfied with our stay.
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Wonderful time
Grounds clean, beautiful flowers, easy to get around and the grounds keepers are so nice a tip here and there goes a long way.Pools clean and big.Rooms cozy,ac worked great, maids where awesome. The beach long, white and beauitful. Hotel Tuxpan: Cute and Quaint Resort
We had a great time at this resort. It was small and staff were friendly. Guests were mostly Russian but pleasant people when you get to know them. The shows every night at 9:30 PM were fun to attend by the pool and bar. The beach is a very close walk to the resort and is absolutely stunning. Try to get a room on the second, third or fourth floor if you can though as we had to switch due to the smell of dampness. Food is not the greatest, but you get to know what's good, and you just sti [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Friendly!
Compared to other resorts I've been to, this one is tired. It needs some TLC. The food is ok. I find that I really can't get a wine that I really like - kind of disappointing. However, the staff is so friendly and hard-working. I looked forward to seeing them each day. All in all, it was fine.
Grand Memories Santa Maria: One thing after another
We arrived at the resort Jan 31/20. Check in was quick and bell boy promptly brought us to our room. We were starving and didn't have much time to get dinner.. We left our luggage on the beds and headed to the buffet. We might have been gone for 1.5 hrs. When we returned and started to unpack we noticed 350 dollars was missing from our suit case where wallet was kept.. The bell boy was the only person that seen the wallet in the suitcase while he waited for his tip.. This was a girls trip that I [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful resort 💛â¤ðŸ’šðŸ’™ðŸ§¡ðŸ’œ
We stayed at the Club Amigo for the first week of February 2020 as a Couple We booked in a Villa to be closer to the beach and a King size bed. It is a huge and amazing resort that is perfectly located. The beach has many different places surrounded by beautiful coral. There are many bars located all over the resort and the staff is very friendly. Bed was very comfortable but the pillows are very thin so bring a spare pillow or ask the maid and she will provide extra pillows the following day. [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Beautiful view
The resort was very nice. The pools were kept nice and clean. The beach was by far the best part. The food was great. No complaints there. The staff was amazing. They really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They really enjoy children. A great resort for family's. The night entertainment was very good too. The a la cartes were great too.
Playa Caleta: Pleasantly surprised!
Grounds were beautiful. Beach was beautiful and safe day and night. Great variety of foods. Fresh breads and fruits every day. Beds were a little uncomfortable but all in all, a great little escape. We did not go with high expectations as the price was excellent. Staff were nice, courteous and helpful!
Roc Lagunas del Mar: Great Resort
This resort has been recently renovated. We were in building 9. Had a pool view and also if you stepped out on the balcony you could see the ocean also. We ate mainly at the snack bar. Pizza was so so so good. So was the Club Breakfast sandwhich. We stuck to the pasta at the Main buffet. Which was really good. Breakfast I had Crepe's with my own Maple Syrup... Cuba do not have Maple Syrup. The only fault I found was in the main lobby there were a ton of smokers. They sat at the main bar / co [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: Great Holiday
Hotel was fantastic, wonderful staff, food was good especially good Gondola and Romantico al-a carts. Beach was good for snorkeling. Had issues getting beach locations for shade as beach is shared with many hotels. Best to be early riser to save loungers. Also note CUC money best to change before leaving to airport as once you go through only American and Canadian money used. Also very high exchange rate from Canadian to American money...so bring some US dollars to spend for sandwich or w [... read more]
Grand Memories Santa Maria: A no no resort
Rooms: outdated, dirty and dusty walls, smelly bathroom, no new sheets for 10 days, we never received the crib for our baby, TV wasn't working. Buffet: Cockroaches all around. Even though meals were tastier than other resorts we 've been, they offered the same lunch and dinner during our stay. Many people got sick. They try hard though. Public washrooms: veeeeeeeeery smelly. At least they had paper and soap. Pool: dirty and small Beach: the only amazing place During our stay, we [... read more]
Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Mixed feelings
We have both been to Cuba many times before and we love it and were really looking forward to trying this resort based on the reviews we had read, but sadly we didn't have an ideal experience. There are many positives - it is very clean, the staff are friendly and service is excellent. Our room and the public areas were very clean and comfortable. Also the location is fantastic, the beach gorgeous with plenty of beach chairs and there is lots of activity. However, there were also drawbacks. We [... read more]
Club Karey: Terrible resort and I,ve been to some Doozies
the hotel services were Bad Start with no porters for over1hour,.The roomwas a small square with bathroom no toiletries but half a roll of toilet paper.Had a bath but no plug 2 thin hand towels which were changed once.and a toilet that dripped. It did have air conditioning but no fridge, phone or safety deposit box. There was no outdoor seating and best of all when you opened your door you could look into the next room. The sheets were so thin you could see the pattern on the mattress.Ther was no se [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort
Liked food staff beach pool Felt very safe. Walked on beach & sidewalks outside hotel. All nice & clean. Could have used a extra mattress on cot!!! Only upset with Sunwing not being there for us a few times☹ï¸
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Decent resort, incredible beach area
It's an average Cuban hotel, with average food, the snack bar isn't as good as we were hoping. The staff is awesome, they definitely made our time enjoyable there. The entertainment crew could be a lot better, they weren't as engaging as we were used to in the past at different resorts.
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: A Cuban delight
Buildings a bit run down and need for constant maintenance and paint. But we know and accept that this is common in Cuba. For instance we changed rooms because the toilet did not flush, the wiring was exposed and you had to do a shoulder charge to open the door. But that's OK: the hotel made no problem about changing rooms and the new room was more satisfactory (although the bathtub finish had gone). The grounds were attractive and well kept. The beach is magnificent and the ocean swimming was [... read more]
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Boo
This resort would have been ok at best if they didn’t keep saying they don’t have things. They kept running out of stuff and the food was more repetitive than other resorts I have been to in Cuba. Probably won’t go back to this side of the island cayo coco side way nicer than Varadero. Also if you are thinking about booking the privilege area wait til you get to resort and bargain with them. We saved a 1000.00 doing this. Definitely will not go back
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Friendly Staff
We absolutely loved the staff at this resort. Super friendly, and helpful. The food was quite good and always enough of everything. I did take Mrs. Dash to add a little extra flavour to a couple items. Our first room wasn't up to what a "superior room" should be. Smelly, leaking ceiling, and bugs, not happy. We were given a better quality room on the second night, after the ceiling leak was really bad, but had to move ourselves ( at midnight). The beaches are the best!! Lots of fun t [... read more]
Valentin Perla Blanca: Very nice place at the end of the cayo
This was our fourth time in this resort so just that speaks for itself. Last year we had some not so good experience and this year the management upgraded our room as a surprise, which was very nice and appreciated gesture. We also purchased the privilege package for the first time. We ended up eating and drinking in the non-privilege restaurants and bars anyway probably because we already new the people there. What was probably the most disappointing experience was the bottle of rum that was su [... read more]
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: NO DOORS IN THE BATHROOM
We were beyond shocked to see a resort built without privacy in the bathroom area. I was travelling with my brother so it was abit awkard. they did give us a shower curtain to put up - but no privacy for 2 weeks. The resort needs some tender loving care. it grew on us. the beach is most amazing so we overlooked the other stuff. the staff were amazing also. once they got to know you - so sweet. would definatly go back to the area but will try a different resort. I was surprised the [... read more]
