Hotel Bella Costa: Upgrades needed

Staff really good,resort upgrades needed in a big way food was not good at all. Bathrooms in bad sharp. Overall not what we exspected.was much better in the pass approx 6 years ago also was not notified by tripcental about 4 to5 days of morning at beginning of trip do to the passing of Fidel Castro

Playa Vista Azul: Great resort

The stay was good. I did not like the late flight and check in because it was dark. Our room was nice with a great view of the pool. I loved the beach, the swim up bar and all the other bars on the resort. Caves were fun, we also went on catamaran which was a lot of fun as well. Our flight back was delayed so that was a bummer to be at the cuban airport so long, but the flight was great both ways. Only 3 hours. The food was ok on the buffet. We also did a lobster a la cart for xtra and it was amazing. we did one dinner at italian which was also excellent.

Starfish Jibacoa: Beautiful site

The site is beautiful with its the surrounding mountains, its mature trees, the landscaping, the well kept grounds. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is not great but the cooks do their best considering the many shortages. The bungalow I was using was clean and I did not mind the furniture being old, the bed not that comfortable because the room was vast and peaceful. The air conditioning was quiet and efficient. Beach sand is coarse and there is algae but it is compensated by the amazing cora [... read more]l reef reachable by swimming. Bring your mask and snorkel !

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great Family Vacation

This is our third (3rd) time in Varadero and first time with Iberostar Varadero we stayed in this hotel from December 10 to 17, 2016 occupying room 1251-1252. We noticed the following; 1. Checking-In is no hassle and the receptionist assist us to an open restaurant to eat as we checked-in around 11:10 PM. 2. Room is clean and the chambermaid did a very good job, outlet for charging my ipad is not working but the guest service immediately delivered portable charger.. 3. Restaurants: Japanese, Mediterranean and Parilla with good menu choices and the quality/presentation is Excellent. Buffet food is also good and the assistance of Yayi, Raimara and Jaima makes our experience more enjoyable.. 5. Swimming pool is clean, service at the pool is good, ground keeping is clean and all plants are healty and colorful. 6. Daily intertainment from Kids to Adults are good 7. I talked with the Guest Service Manager Yadiel and he is very accomodating and open to suggestions 8. I can strongly recommend this Hotel to anybody who wants to enjoy vacation in Varadero. Hotel Acuazul: A VERY PLEASANT AND RELAXING PLACE..

THIS VISIT IS MY SECOND STAY AT AQUAZUL AND MUST SAY..THE HOSPITALITY OF THE STAFF FROM ALL SECTORS OF THIS HOTEL ARE VERY HELPFUL AND PLEASANT...I WAS TREATED LIKE FAMILY...THE HOTEL IS A CLEAN PLACE WITH ELEVATORS IN ORDER AND THE ROOM ARE CLEANED DAILY..ENJOYABLE EVENING ENTERTAINMENT FROM DANCERS AND MUSICIANS...A HOTEL TO SPEND SOME TIME IN..

Hotel Acuazul: Hotel or shelter?

I going to Cuba every year, and few times have been at Varadero. I know what does it mean 3 stars resort. I never had such bad experience with hotel in Cuba like this year. Hotel Acuazul is the worst place in my rich experience. I've arrived 11 p.m. Nobody cares about to give you some snack or food. Everything is closed except the pool bar. By the way it's only single place, which is serving customers. Rooms are horrible. Stinky, dirty, broken. I have tried 3 rooms- all the same. I found huge bu [... read more]gs in the room. Only after I spoke with my representative and required to change hotel, I got the bungalow on the beach,  which is not bad. Service is horrible. When one of the older ladies asked waitress to clean the table, she gave her the sponge. The elevator- claustrophob's nightmare, no light. Water in Cuba is not good, and this hotel doesn't provide water for drinking. This place is highly not recommended. 

Playa Vista Azul: I would go back right away if i could

Great on all levels! You enter into the resort and are welcomed at the front door. Easy check in with help right to the room with our bags. The entertainment was going on as we arrived and our room was 3 floors above the stage, it ends at 10:30 pm I'm told. On the mark, the only sounds left was happy people and the birds in the trees. The food was great, 3 full meals a day with great staff. The restaurants don't require a reservation, we waited almost four minutes one night. The service was top  [... read more]quality as was the food. The pool was great fun, but once to the beach, we never returned to the pool. The beach was beautiful, every picture taken developed beautifully. The swimming was excellent, and personally, the shade was thick. I hid in the shade and my other half sat in full sun. On the big beach, you can have a trip on a catamaran or take out a kayak. A good friend had said it was a good resort, I would have to agree. A+ all around lastly as you are shuttled to the resort you pass a few others and stop and drop off people. My shuttle had four stops before it stopped, in all that were seen Ocean Vista Azul was the best!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Nice resort

Rooms : The rooms were updated in the building we stayed at we stayed in block valve in the heart of the resort the rooms Got hairdryer , Iran available when requested , shampoo conditioner and gel in dispenser mounted in the bathroom shower area... our maid is very clean she always made sure to mop change the sheets almost daily ... I normally like the higher floors specially that it retains heat and cool better than top level and lower level ... our block had a pool and ocean view dependin [... read more]g east or west of the building you will get a very nice view . Property : The property is a beautiful property located at the end of the Pennsylvania the ocean is so clean and beautiful the properties well-maintained yet the way it was built spread on along property that makes it really hard to commute from a place to another ! I mean for my family it was really hard ... I have a baby so every time I needed to fill a bottle with milk I had to go to the reception by no other smaller booth is her areas on the way .... it's quite the walk from our block to anywhere snack bar fish restaurant or the farther areas for block 20 and 20 something ! I wish they built it in a pyramid shape to make more use of the land... oh there was spa very nice one and hairdresser Internet services , cigar bar cigar shop all for extra money not included but Available. Food : typical Cuban food edible some great variety of seafood which I go for everytime. I hated the fact that there is gaps between breakfast lunch and dinner if you miss lunch there's a huge gap between breakfast and dinner ... and made it really hard specially that we are not really hungry before 2:30 by the time we get to the lunch buffet almost every kind is gone... Ala cart reservations restaurant were excellent quality and taste and presentation to die for especially the Spanish and Itallian restaurant... Drinks : it's almost impossible to find gas water and all the other drinks are super sugary ! I don't go for the drinks but I can live on water alone for years hehehe Pools: quiet pool which we didn't visit much near snack bar! Activity pool across from our rooms with slide that my kids loved and smaller area for babies with a park 😊 And a bouncy hug castle that my 1.5 years old went crazy for ... over all pools were really clean and fun. Towels: no clean towels every other day maybe Beach : amazing amazing clean there was volleyball every day that aqua fitness dancing many activities kayaking paddle boat Internet: 2 cuc for every hour and it's terrible half the time doesn't work or super slow... Night entertainment: Night chose were amazing specially the magic night there was entertainment for children but very minimal only last 2 days. Kids club not well taken care of and missing many activities only one staff member needs updating needs more staff ...

Roc Barlovento: awesome resort

We had an amazing time at Rock Barlovento we took two teenagers and they had something for every age group. Food was more then what I thought we would be eating, always somewhere to eat even at 4am :) right beside the town so close to night clubs, restaurants and shopping. Maids and all other employees were great to us. Everything was confined so didn't have to walk distances to go anywhere in the resort. Very clean resort inside and out. Rooms were great, had lots of hot water and air condition [... read more]ing was great. All in all was a great resort and will now be the only resort I go to in Varadero. I can't praise them enough!

Hotel Bella Costa: Great family hotel

I enjoyed the variety of activities, different places to dine, the beachfront, and the excursions. For a retiree it may not be a repeat destination of choice, but for families it would be an excellent choice. The entertainment was lovely with dances, music, magic, and even water ballet. Staff were kind and attentive. I would definitely recommmend this hotel to families.

Sol Varadero Beach: Great Family Resort

this hotel offered a large playground kiddie clubs huge pool and the snack bar was awesome. the kids had a blast and I was able to relax. our rooms were always cleaned daily and our maid was super friendly. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Hotel Los Cactus: Nice quiet resort!

This was our fifth visit to Cuba (first time in Varadero). We chose this resort for its value and its proximity to the golf course as we wanted to golf during our stay. It is a nice resort that is very quiet, not busy and has mostly middle aged couples. It was just the relaxing time we were looking for. Our room was spacious and clean. The grounds were well kept. The beach was beautiful and the pool was refreshing. The staff were friendly and helpful. Every request we had was accommodate [... read more]d. We anticipated that the food would be just OK, even for Cuban standards, so we were not disappointed. We always found something to eat and enjoyed the omelettes in the morning and the burgers at the Beach Grill during the day. Our dinner at the Italian a la carte and the Beach Grill a la carte were very enjoyable. Overall our stay was very good. The food is mediocre, but at long as you go with that understanding, you will not be disappointed with this resort. It is good value for money.

Playa Caleta: Not bad for the price paid

We made an informed decision and kind of knew what to expect, but we must say that we're pleasantly surprised. Our room was cleaned everyday, we got fresh towels and news sheets everyday. No issues with toilet paper of whatsoever. Staff was nice and helpful. The amenities were not too bad. We're really happy to get an ocean view room. The food was ok, not the best in the world, but pretty edible. Also, we had 4 dinners a la carte so that was very good. Overall, we had a good time in Varadero.

Playa Caleta: Good resort apart from food

They have terrible hygene. 2 of us got food poisoning. They dumped same marinated fish on the grill and served it with out cooking for whole week. Snack bar served contaminated chicken sandwiches by saying fridge was broken. 3 of 4 A La Carte restaurants were fully booked or closed. 4th one was booking for 20% of the capacity. The grills at the buffet has to be watched for sure they dump the fish and beef and mix with partly cooked and not cooked together and serve with out cooking properly. Man [... read more]y people had diarrhea.The facility is in good condition but restaurants and food was really bad and contaminated.They had no tomatoes,onions,banana at all. Weird for a tropic country. We stay in Caleta tower.Pool was very dirty.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Not worth the visit

This is a very old and run down hotel, there was mould in the room and everything was rusted out. The hotel is no was all inclusive, there were no beverages in the room in any way and we were informed you had to be a presidents club member. The staff were not really that friendly and was hard to get service. All of the drink machines were turned off, so unable to get blended drinks in any way anywhere. Memories left a bad taste in our mouth

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful Resort

Such a beautiful resort, the staff were amazing .. especially Daniel and the food was much better than I imagined. The overall trip exceeded our expectations by far! we will definitely be back again and would highly recommend this resort.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great resort

We enjoyed all aspects of this resort. We chose Cuba for the beaches and were not disappointed. They are beautiful. We could walk for a very long ways. The food was very good at the Buffet and the a la carte restaurant's were special.

Starfish Jibacoa: Second Visit This Year!

Just returned from Villa Jibacoa. We are repeat customers. Great to see our many Cuban and Canadian friends, also met some new ones as well! Things that needed to get fixed are being fixed, we saw many improvements. Best trip we have had so far. Had a great time snorkeling and enjoying the sunshine. Ruddy is doing a great job in the A La Carte. Looking forward to returning in the new year.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Loved it!

We had a short but sweet stay at this resort. The staff were friendly and the property was kept in top condition. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The food was good, enough selection that you could definitely find something to eat. Mike's Cafe was lovely, the staff were very friendly and the coffee was great! The pool was lovely, refreshing, plenty of sunbathing chairs to choose from. The beach was also gorgeous, a perfect strip. Overall, a wonderful vacation!

Paradisus Varadero: Amazing Resort

This resort was one of the best we have been at in Cuba. The rooms have been updated and are very clean. We were very pleased with the selection and quality of food. All the staff that we meet were super friendly. We would recommend this resort to families.
