Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Not worth the price

We travelled to Blue Bay for a week in February. Pros The beach bar staff were great, the VIP section of the beach meant we always had a chair and towels. The buffet staff were friendly and attentive and we could always find something we enjoyed. The staff at the a la cartes were wonderful and made you feel special. Cons The rooms were very dated. The dresser in the closet and table in the room were poorly made and in need of a fresh coat of paint or replacing. The coffee in the lobby  [... read more]was an extra charge as was the room safe. The food at the a la cartes was ok, but there were really no vegetables and no fruit, they were very heavy meals. For the price we paid for platinum all inclusive I was very disappointed. We went for the sand and sun and ocean and those are what made the trip worthwhile.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Good for the Price

The grounds and food were great! The location is very nice and beach is wonderful. Very safe and nice place to visit. My negatives are the bed was rock hard - honestly, the beach furniture was 100% better, and the pools and pool bars all close early...lots of night life, not alot of evening life. It is a "timeshare" location, so some areas are much nicer than others, and they will push you for a tour and to buy.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: nice place

Overall we found this resort very clean and staff was exellent. Food and drinks was great as was the entertaiment. Beach area was clean and not crowded. Didn't like being blindsided by the sales pitch from Unlimited Vacation Club.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Paid More - Got Less

A group of us have vacationed at Casa Marina Reef Resort now for the past 3 years. While we still our enjoyed our stay this year, all of us agree that the price continues to go up, however, the services, rooms & food seem to be diminishing. They have done a ton of upgrades to the lobby and restaurant/bars which is wonderful, however, the inconsistency of the rooms being replenished, the cold food (unless you order pasta), the cold showers (twice) and squeaky closets/doors need much improvement [... read more].

Ocean Blue and Sand: Awesome resort

We were impressed by the high quality of the food, best we had ever had while travelling south. The whole resort was clean and impeccable, housekeepers were friendly and efficient. All staff were really pleasant and helpful. The beach was great. We upgraded to "Privilege" and it was worth every penny. The only part we disliked was the pressure tactics by the H10 Sales group; they are to be avoided. We would go back there for sure.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Good choice.

Beautiful well kept grounds, good food, friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodation. We were looking to escape winter in Ontario and feel we could not have made a better choice. We hope to return.

Occidental Caribe: beautiful resort

Overall had a great time. Went with daughter and son-in-law, 2 ladies in sixties, another couple and my other half. The grounds are beautiful and you could walk the beach forever in either direction on white sand. The water was warm but had some big waves. All right if you are comfortable in the water. The food was hit or miss but not bad. Sometimes hard to find something to eat at buffet. Enjoyed the fish and meat a la carte. Ordered the steak and it was delicious and others ordered shrimp which they enjoyed. The mexican restaurant was only available at lunch but I hear it was good. We upgraded to oceanfront by the kiddy pool which I am glad we did as it was noisy by the bar pool especially in early mornings. The resort is a bit tired needing an update but rooms were clean and once figured out toilet workings all good. For the money not bad but will not be going back.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Breathtaking Views

The resort was spacious and nice for morning walks, the beach was beautiful and the view was amazing. The a la carte restaurants were wonderful! Our room was clean and nicely laid out, and the double shower was quite nice! The pool was very large and had a great layout! I have no complaints about this resort and would be happy to return again! We met many people who were all return guests to the hotel.

Dreams La Romana: Lovely resort.

Grounds are beautiful. People are so, so nice, just fabulous and will anything for you. Food is good, lots of choices, no lobster though. You won't go hungry here! Entertainment team makes this resort what it is. Ocean is warm, no fish for snorkeling. Waves not big, good for swimming. Enjoyed our vacation here.

Grand Memories Punta Cana: Fantastic vacation

Beautiful grounds-well kept. Food was delicious and staff all friendly and helpful. Water Park wonderful and so much fun. Rooms clean. Loved the balcony ! Very impressed with the ability to order room service 24/7 and to be able to do so from the TV. Never disappointed. A La Cart restaurants excellent. Not over crowded . Beach was beautiful-didn't have to fight for chairs or shade. Loved the ability to use the other hotel and have the transportation to the beach, Never had to wait very long [... read more]. Night entertainment excellent for children an adults. Will certainly return.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Very Clean Resort

Hello, The resort was very clean and food was amazing. The staff were terrific. I was disappointed with regards to the pool closing each day at 6:00 PM and the fact that it was almost impossible to find a beach chair without having to get up each day at 5:30 AM. The sports bar was not able to get Hockey, which for a resort with 99% of the visitors being Canadian should be taken into consideration. The beds were very hard. Although very lovely we will not be returning.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Heaven on Earth

We loved this resort, it had everything we wanted. I enjoyed the activities and also the beach and pool. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Also the people we super nice and helpful.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Wonderful family vacation

My husband and our two children (aged 6 months and 2 years) stayed at the Nickelodeon resort from Feb 22/19 - Mar 1/19. I had emailed ahead to request a crib for our room. The crib was not in our room upon arrival but came within 10 minutes. We had a flat swim-up suite, which was amazing due to how often the children napped. We never got to try many of the restaurants because the kids go to bed early. The main buffet was good for breakfast and supper. We often went to the lighthouse for lunch (o [... read more]n the sensatori side). It had a small selection of food and delicious home made icecream! We went to Fresco for lunch some too. The food there was okay. We tried room service a couple of times out of convenience but we were not impressed with the food. The coffee shop Doppio was fantastic! The always had fresh cookies, donuts, fruit, yogurt and delicious cakes!! This is the first resort I’ve been to that had really good deserts. The staff were all very friendly and really tried to make the children happy. The beach has big waves but is stunning! The characters make frequent appearances at Aqua Nick so we didn’t bother with the character breakfast. All in all a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend!!

Punta Cana Princess: Very relaxing adult only resort but men pack your shoes

We just got back from a 2 week stay at the Punta Cana Princess and we had a wonderful holiday. We were looking to relax in the sunshine and sandy beach and we got what we were hoping for. Pros: What makes this resort stand out is the staff. All of them (bar staff, restaurant staff, entertainment team, maids, gardeners, front desk, everyone ) are very hard working but always smiling and ready with an "Hola" and really go out of their way to make your holiday great. Our towel rack came away  [... read more]from the wall, I went to lobby to report it and it was fixed before I made it back to the our room an hour later. The bar staff remembered our drinks orders and always happy to serve us. As many others have mentioned, the staff really made our 2 weeks terrific. The resort is quiet and relaxing with wonderfully maintained grounds, a nice pool and right on a lovely beach where you can walk for a long way in either direction. There are vendors but a simple no thank you (or better yet, no gracias) works. We walked the beach for 2-3 hours per day and honestly by the third day, they recognized us and did not even ask anymore. The ocean was rough on most days, lots of waves and the staff did an excellent job of cleaning up the seaweed if any showed up overnight. Wonderful views from the beach bar and the beach BBQ that was held a few times a week was a treat, excellent ribs and other grilled food and refreshing sangria all served on the beach. The resort is super clean, even the beach bathroom which can be hard to maintain was always clean. The rooms were very clean as well. No musty smell in the room as we have seen in other resorts and the AC worked well....so well we had to turn off some nights as it was too cool for us. Entertainment team had many activities planned during the morning, and later in the afternoon. No pressure to join but fun if you wanted to. Most nights, we had a show or contest in the lobby bar or you could visit the Caribe Resort next door to see their show. We tried this one night, fun but we liked our resort so much better, less crowded, hectic and of course no kids...which is the main reason we chose an adult only resort. We visited the gym almost every day, it was not huge but had all the equipment needed for a good workout, if you wanted to do one. Also, the pathways around the PCP and Caribe made great running trails if you did not want to run on the sand. Cons: The only small issue we had was with trying to visit the a la carte restaurants. I loved the idea on not having to make reservations but when we tried to go in one of our first nights, we were denied entry because although my husband had long trousers and a short sleeved dress shirt, he wore nice leather sandals. Now, I checked the dress code on the Princess website while packing and again the day before we left and there is no mention of closed toe shoes but this was required for entry. So, it was the buffet for us for 2 weeks. I did notice however, over the course of 2 weeks, plenty of men in casual shorts/sweatpants and running shoes eating at the a la cartes, so the dress code enforcement is inconsistent. Management suggestion: I would recommend updating your website if closed shoes are required so that we can pack what is needed and being consistent in your enforcement of the dress code. Having said that, it was not really an issue for us, the food at the buffet was good and each night had a different theme. The Valentine Day buffet that was put on extra special, and every night we had lots of choice of different items so very easy to have a nice meal, not a five star gourmet meal but still good. However, I would advise against the Asian night. Both of us have good stomachs and never suffer any issues in our many years of travel but the first week I got sick after Asian night and the second week my husband did. Nothing major, better the next day but we never figured out what food caused the problem. The guests here like at many other resorts we have been to are doing the towel dance with both pool and beach chairs being saved starting as early as 7am. My husband and I like to walk the beach and the resort and are not much for sitting on our butts all day but we had no problem finding chairs any time we wanted to relax by the pool or beach for a hour so not really a problem. Overall, we had a great time and would return to Punta Cana Princess and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, laid back, relaxing holiday.

Le Sivory: Hidden Gem

If you want to be pampered this is the place to go. Service & staff probably the best I have ever seen. A nice small resort - no line ups for food or the bar- no getting up at 6 to secure a lounger at the pool or beach. Would definitely go again.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Standard Resort

Check in: disorganized as usual. Rooms: clean, little to no hot water pressure, some out dated, some are better then others. Grounds: well maintained, however they need to spray more for bugs though, 3 times a week is NOT enough. Staff: some better then others, but I have had way better service elsewhere. Food: AMAZING no complaints. Medeteranian al a cart is the only one worth your while, other two just serve the same things as the buffet. Beach/Pool: honestly the main pool could be maintained better, but the other two were just fine. Beach, lots of sand flees... I am still itching. They really need to spray more. Very little seaweed on the beach, beach was well maintained. Only complaint: I have stayed at almost all of the Grand Bahia’s and some of them multiple times and usually I get something extra like a bottle of champagne or even a comment like “thanks for returning” I don’t know how many people I told that I was a returning guest and it was like they didn’t care. No one did anything. Overall I would give it a 3.5-4/5 nothing horrible, but also nothing amazing. If I had paid about $150-$200 less (under $1000) I feel like it would have been a better price. Or even $1000 flat. I did get a deal but some people were paying upwards of $1500 and it is definitely not worth that or more. This resort has lots of potential but they need someone in there to step up their game. A manager who pushes the staff to do better and wants to renovate some of the rooms.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Great resort

The rooms were ok.. the food was great...the staff were friendly and courteous the beach had too much seaweed but the resort made a daily effort to clean the beaches .. the theme restaurants were great and there was lots of activities to do everyday

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great resort

I really enjoyed my time at Cofresi. The pools were clean, there was a ton of space available. I went with my husband and two year old daughter. The people there were very accommodating of my young daughter. My only issue was that I had booked the VIP access. Turns out that only gives you access to the VIP beach. This is the only VIP access. This does not include the VIP restaurants. That is for VIP MEMBERS OR SHAREHOLDERS only. I wish that was made clear before. Also I thought that being VIP wo [... read more]uld get wifi in the room but wifi is only available at the VIP beach. Other than that it was a great place. Most likely will stay at more lifestyle holidays resorts in other countries.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Resort

Nice hotel, well kept grounds. Welcoming to room was beautiful, lots of floral decorations & great housekeeping. Rooms, overall were adequate. Paid for Premium Level, a few more options/explanations of services offered for Premium level would’ve been appreciated. Booking a la carte restaurants was easy, efficient & always accommodating, service at a la carte & Vintage room was exceptional. Food was really good. Wine in a la carte restaurants is sub par. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great Resort...

The hotel was great...the grounds are immaculate very well taken care of. They have 2 pools in the adult section..the quiet pool and the "busy pool'...we spent most of our time in the quiet pool side....easy to get drinks and lots of loungers for the guest's. Booking the restaurants was a little trying...however we managed to eat at places where we wanted. The booze was top shelf...including Crown Royal !
