Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Exceptional resort! Absolutely Paradise!!!

We stayed at the Grand Bahia Punta Cana royal golden for 7 days and we were blown away with the entire experience! The staff are incredible, very happy and friendly, kind people that will go out of there way, above and beyond for anything you want or need. We stayed in villa 4 and our cleaning lady was wonderful. We absolutely loved her. We also dealt with Maria from the royal golden lobby and she was great! The beach was beautiful as well as the pools and the food was fantastic! We honestly were blown away and didn’t ever want to leave, of course because it was vacation but because it was an absolute paradise and everyone was so kind and happy. This felt like a home away from home all because of the staff. We cannot wait to go back and will likely only ever return to grand bahias after this wonderful experience!

Riu Republica: Riu Republica

I would highly recommend this resort for a relaxing adults only vacation. Very clean resort with easy access to restaurants, pools and the beach. Always easy to find a lounge chair by the pool or beach. Great food and excellent service.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia Caribe Beach - Punta Cana February 2019

Just spent a week at the Melia Caribe Beach in Punta Cana. Chose the resort because it included free golf. Resort is big but lots of golf carts to shuttle around the site. Great food, beach and pools.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Customer Service Lacking

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. The grounds, the beach, everything but the customer service. We had to go to the reception desk a number of times during our stay and each time we were treated very rudely. There were room mix ups, empty bar fridges, late check out miscommunications and all inquiries were treated the same, "sorry we can't help you". For the price that is paid for a vacation, I would think the staff should be a little more accommodating. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: great resort

The grounds were well kept, the food was amazing with lots of variety. The staff was very friendly. We had a issue in our room first thing but was fixed within 15 min...We do wish there was some music playing on the beach. We didn't get too much time at the pool as towels were always put on chairs before 7 am, but we preferred the beach anyways ..The resort was very nice and would go again..

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great, family-friendly resort

The resort was beyond our dreams! The grounds were immaculate and there were so many things for the kids to do, the programming was excellent! Each night the kids had dances and there were contest on the pool deck for them to participate in. The buffet food was great and à la carte restaurants equally good (except the Tex-Mex). If you can, try the Japanese fusion and the Teppanyaki for a real treat. We only hung out at the beach a little (the waves were high and the kiddies didn't like tha [... read more]t so much) but from what we could see it was nice, albeit a little crowded. Easier to get sun chairs by the pools than at the beachfront. The rooms were really clean, however the hallways are quite echo-y and noisy, so try and remember to stay quiet at night when returning to your room in case fellow travellers are sleeping - being the family resort, many of us retire early-ish (10pm which really isn't that early). The shows were fun, however not all of them are kid-friendly so watch out for those. Mirabel, who is the kids event coordinator is fantastic and really goes out of her way to make the kids feel welcome. Drinks at the swim-up bars seem a little watered down (so feel free to pound back quite a few!) but the ones at the main-lobby are full-strength so watch out! We also did the Pirates of the Caribbean excision and it is great fun for kids. They do a good job of keeping the kids occupied while travelling out to the snorkelling, sting rays and sharks and have a fun play on the way back. We were really impressed with this trip and how well suited it was for the kids. Our friends that we travelled with did have their son contract Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease near the end of the trip so that it something to watch out for, but with a place that is this kid-friendly, I suspect the toys, etc. at the Kids Club aren't always as well cleaned as they may be here in North America. Other than that hiccup at the end, we had a fantastic time and would recommend this place to any family looking for a fun adventure in Punta Cana!

Puerto Plata Village: Crap place scheduled to be demolished in 3 months

This is not even a resort! No one spoke English food sucked bugs in room. Doors had been kicked in and locks had been replaced with small chains, no security in the middle of a village not a safe place to stay! Shame on sunwing to even rate this place a 3 star as I would not rate it a 1 star. Had to pay to be moved wasted 2 days of vacation time!

TRS Turquesa: Wonderful resort!

The TRS Turquesa is a beautiful resort. The grounds are neatly manicured and trimmed on a daily basis. All the public areas are very clean. The rooms are really well cleaned and we were surprised to even see the public washrooms so clean with the traffic of people at the resort. It is the first time in a resort that we see the washrooms close to the pool and beach that clean. The maids came twice a day to clean our room and then prepare it for the evening. The employees such as waiters, butle [... read more]rs, etc, that we dealt with were very polite and always ready to help. One day, the WiFi of the hotel was not working and one of the animator allowed us to use his phone to do our check in for our flight the following day. The air conditioning was very cold in our rooms but we were able to control it since we each had an individual control. We heard that in other resorts the guests were not able to control the air conditioning. There are several pools available to the guests and a beautiful beach, so everyone was scattered throughout so we did not have the feeling that it was packed. There are several palapas available for those who want some shades at the beach and at the main pool. We could walk a long distance along the beach and see various resorts. They were no weeds in the water. The resort gave us the opportunity to dine in the other restaurants part of the Grand Palladium (GP) Group, so we had lots of variety. We did not have to reserve for the restaurants at the Turquesa but we had to reserve for the restaurants included in the GP Group. Our favorite restaurant was the Japanese Sumptuori, they were really generous with their food. Our second best restaurant was the El Dorado Steak House, the steaks were delicious. However, the beef in the other restaurants are not recommended since they are not tender and the meat is fat. There was a grill close to the beach so we could eat outside and still enjoy the sun. There was also a restaurant really close to the beach. Our favorite buffet was the Behique due to the variety of the food, warm food and quieter place than the other big buffet place. In some restaurants, we felt that the food was not warm enough and sometime overcooked. We were not bothered by any Travellers Club Sellers. We were asked only once to attend a session and we refused and they did not bother us after. This resort is very close to the airport; it took approx. 15-20 minutes with the shuttle to get to the resort from the airport. We would definitely go back to this hotel. There were some activities for those who wanted to participate and they were not too loud. We were able to rest and relax at the Turquesa.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Beautiful and friendly resort!

The grounds were immaculate, the never stop working on them. The staff was friendly everywhere we went. The rooms were clean and the food was extremely good. All in all it was a wonderful and very relaxing holiday. We would definitely go back.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Wonderful Vacation Spot!

We have just returned from a 7-day stay at the NOW Larimar in Punta Cana. We have nothing but good things to say about this resort. This is our 5th stay here. We stayed in the former NOW Garden as well as the main resort. We were treated exceptionally well. The food is great with a lot of variety at the buffet and a-la-carte restaurants. You won't go hungry! The beach is outstanding and the seaweed is removed daily. You can walk for miles, the view never gets old. The pool [... read more] areas offer relaxation or pool activities if you want to participate. The serving staff and Entertainment Team work hard to keep everyone happy. The grounds are spacious, well maintained and beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable although nothing changed too much in the last few years. We have to say it feels like home and it's good to see some of the same staff again.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Good resort

The place was beautiful and very friendly staff a couple of minor things is no hot water.We stayed in the renovated side the store on the resort is very very expensive a bottle of copper tone lotion was 38 dollars US .Also no 24 hour snack bar and never really changed up the menu.Room service was great clean grounds lots of if you can ignore them if’s all good

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Beautiful Resort

Loved the fun vibe of this resort. Ages varied from 20z to 80z. Very interactive with games around the pool and the evening shows were hilarious. Appropriate for all age groups.Beautiful walk to the beach every day that was filled with lots of nature. Great staff and really appreciated the top 40 music that was played poolside.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Cofresi Palm Beach Resort Puerto Plata

Number 1: If you have mobility issues this place is not for you. It is a giant maze with many many stairs to climb to get anywhere. While the room was clean and quaint the a/c unit was so load you could barely have a conversation while it is running. We were without hot water one evening and without hydro briefly. This is largely a time share organization which you are not told until after you are sucked into a tour. I found that very deceitful. The level of service is poor unless you are a me [... read more]mber. The buffet was sketchy as many items were not served at the required temperature making a host for bacteria. Only eat what is cooked and prepared in front of you. The reception desk were very impersonal. The only 2 genuine people were our cleaning lady Maura and another large lady who worked at the main bar. Otherwise most were not enthusiastic unless you flash cash. Booking al a carte was so frustrating we just stuck with buffet things we know to be safe to eat. We kept being told come back at such and such a time to book dinners. Not accommodating AT ALL. If you are not a time share member be prepared to be treated second rate. 2 tiered system going on here. The beach is small and water rough most days. The same people took the premium canopy beds EVERY DAY! Beer fridge stocked only once with 2 beer. Ridiculous when this is all inclusive resort. Premium alcohol only available for time share . Even ginger-ale could not be found. Didn't take on any tours as have been to Puerto Plata before and too sick to take in the entertainment what ever that may have been. Most disappointing trip. No wifi available unless you pay an extra fee of 80.00 for the week. Not even available in lobby. CRAZY! Had Options Plus was to include priority baggage handling. Arriving back at Pearson was a night mare. When luggage finally arrived and definitely not priory they were filthy and damaged.Customs was a nite mare. Maybe think of flying out of Hamilton in future. Definitely would not recommend this place.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Lovely friendly Resort

This resort is one of the cleanest resorts we have ever been too, the grounds are beautiful. There are two adult swimming pools, we were at both, our favourite was the quiet pool, Great area to relax, swim, enjoy conversation with others. The bigger pool is a great place to have some water fun. The food at this resort is very good, everything on the buffet was fresh, loads of salads to choose from, many varieties of fresh fruits, there was always fresh meats of the grill, pasta bar was awesome [... read more]. Drinks were good, beer was nice and cold. Staff were very accommodating and pleasant. We had a great holiday and we will go back.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Amazing Resort

We had a very good time, very happy we choose this Resort. Would highly recommend this Place. The Food was awesome, the rooms great, no complains at all. Thank you for the great time, and awesome experience.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: nice new resort!

The hotel was very nice, room had nice king size bed that was very comfortable. The beach was beautiful and kept clean, Pools were kept clean. We liked the fact that the resort was not too big. Great vacation. We will be back soon :)

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: A top notch family resort

This hotel is defintely 5 stars from the beautiful rooms to the fresh and great variety of foods. The service was excellent, the drinks and they are wonderfully friendly people who do their best to make you have a great vacation. The resort has lots to offer, a lazy river, simulated surfing, small waterpark for younger kids, lots of restaurants for every taste.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good times

We had a good time at grande bahia principe punta cana. The resort is very clean, the food and drinks were good. You are only allowed 3 a la cartes one was booked at 9:30pm way to late for us to eat. Some people didnt get any a la cartes Overall the sun was shining and we had a great time with friends and family

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Nice resort

The rooms are very spacious, clean,& beds comfortable. The resort staff were friendly and hard working, and eager to please. Food was plentiful and decent something for everyone! Beach is beautiful. However the resort need to get more lounge chairs for beach as well as more beach towels! The resort is quite large so there is a lot of walking if in the far complex ! Our vacation was great, really have no complaints!

Paradise Playa Dorada: Very Nice Resort

Hotel is very clean, spacious,excellent very from patio. We up graded to Select Flex, very happy we made that decision to up grade. We had our own pool, own bar, v.i.p. check in and the beach was own the properly next to the bar. Nice Location Short distance from the airport 15 to 20 minutes bus ride. Food was 7 out of 10 Staff very friendly and at your service. Security staff was interested in watching beach lounge chairs inside of monoriting daily operations.
