Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic reaort

Be Live Collection Cayo Santa Maria resort is absolutely amazing. The suite we were in was outstanding ( nothing can compare). It was huge extremely clean and well taken care of every single day. The grounds of the resort were well taken care of daily. The pools were beautiful The beach and Ocean OUTSTANDING. The staff we’re always attentive and friendly . Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great resort!!

Had an amazing time at the Grand Aston hotel. Food was really good, especially at the a la cartes. Definitely the best I have ever eaten anywhere in Cuba. The pizza at the snack bar was great. The pool area was nice although I only went once. Beach was really nice and big with lots of activites, non motorized water sports, entertainment and great bartenders. My only complaint would be that as you are walking to the beach there are a couple of areas with stagnant disgusting water. Im assuming that's why I got so many no see um bug bites. Make sure you bring bug spray. All in all had a great trip and would recommend to anyone who loves Cuba and loves swimming in the crystal clear Ocean. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Best bang for your buck!

Stayed at Grand Aston. Resort is new and very clean. The food was the best food I have ever eaten in Cuba (3rd time to Cuba). The beach was amazing with beautiful blue waters. If you enjoy snorkeling, this was a great resort for that. Snack bar pizzas are delicious, as well as the ice cream. Lots to do - paddleboarding, sailing and kayaking included. Stayed in building 10- close to the beach, a little bit of a walk to restaurants and pool. There are golf carts to pick you up if you dont want to walk to the main attractions. The only thing bad I have to say is that at the front desk they need a few more people to speak better english. Staff was amazing and very accommodating, even having someone pull out your chez lounge for you daily and sweeping it off! Beach bar is very close to the beach and drinks were very good. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good and bad

We loved the resort, it was clean and staff was friendly! The food on the other hand, was so terrible to the point that 3/4 of us got food poisoning on 3 separate nights! (Meaning we didn’t all eat the same meal and still got it). One of us ended up in the hospital. We are not picky eaters by any means but the food was clearly not safe! If the food was better we would consider going back but unfortunately we would never return, our experience was a little traumatic.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Wonderful place

Food was really good,but was bit cold if you go late.service was fantastic.Bar,the beach,all was perfect.Hop on,hop off bus was very convenient to see some places.The playa plara beach was the best I have ever seen,which was 10 minutes ride from our resort

Very clean resort, room was very clean and we'll looked after the maid was very nice,if you needed something she would get.The resort is just the right size,no walking for miles to get somewhere.The buffet something for everyone if you are picky then don't travel. The pools clean and big,no problems getting a lounger. The beach beautiful and lots of lounger and the lobster at the beach restaurant to die for.The weather was fantastic. Palma Real: Amazing resort

We loved it been there 21 times cuba is our favorite place we would love to go back the pool could use anit of work bedrooms r outdated but clean people r so nice and was pretty good location was great

Barcelo Solymar: February 2020

We were a group of 14 people visiting for 1 week at Barcelo Solymar. For my 50th birthday. Ages 9 to 65 years old. We all loved the resort. There was something for everyone. There maybe could have been more for the 9 year old. The grounds were beautiful. There was alot of painting going on, all the buildings seem to be getting a fresh coat. We discover [... read more]ed if you ran the water for a bit the hot water came on. After that the water was always hot. The main building is for party people. We were in bungalow 27. Far away from the party yet close enough that we could join the party when we wanted. The walk to Varedero was 10 minutes and that was fantastic for night life and daytime shopping. The beach was stunning and well kept. The food was excellent. I was happy to see salt and pepper on the tables. There was no peanutbutter or jam. We liked the Mexican al a carte and the seafood. The Italian left a little to be desired as the pasta was overcooked. We liked being able to enjoy both resorts for food and entertainment. We will definitely return but wonder if the prices will be higher in the future due to the renovations, it is going to be beautiful and look very 5 starfish. We did the premier jeep excursion. It was not jeeps but all wheel SUV style vehicles. A great day, a fantastic way to see Cuba and partake in snorkeling, swimming in the caverns, boating, Omar's farm and what seemed like a provincial park for lunch. We hired Eyewitness Cuba for a trip to Havanna, they where very knowledgeable and gave us a great day. They can be found on Facebook and TripAdvisor. We are planning to try to return for all the big birthday's in our group!

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Huge Disappointment!!!

Club Amigo Mayanabo in Santa Lucia is terribly over rated!!! The grounds and overall setting as well as a friendly staff are the only positives! During our 10 day stay, 90 percent of the other people in the Hotel were Russians! Many of them drank to excess and on several occasions security had to be called because of uncontrolled behaviour! We spent our first night in a tiny room which had inadequate space for 2 people but were moved to a bigger room the next day! In this room, the phone didn' [... read more]t work and NO effort was made to repair it during our entire stay! The shower door couldn't be shut and we were only getting "drips" of hot water! We managed to get that improved but then there was NO hot water for the next three and a half days! We had to shower with cold water! The food was plentiful but "very repetitive" and the only fruit that was available for 8 days were oranges! They did have a few bananas and some pineapple during our first 2 days! Papaya which wasn't very sweet was available the last 2 days! The chefs at the hot plate area didn't wear gloves and handled uncooked food with their bare hands! On 2 occasions, we saw one of chefs picking his nose without a tissue and then continued cooking without washing his hands! This was "disgusting"!!!! The 24 hour snack bar only served ham and cheese sandwiches throughout most of the evening and didn't have any potatoes during most of our stay! This resort should only be rated as a 3 star "at the very most"! I can't believe that it was rated as a four star by trip adivisor!!! I definitely WOULDN'T go back!!

Playa Vista Azul: amazing resort

We should of been informed better from the privileged office or from the butler that was assigned to us that our room would not be ready until 4 no one told us they just kept saying give us a little bit more time so we waited 4 hours for our room in our long pants and shirts. Maybe trip central could of maybe informed us too. the service was a bit slow at the buffets and sometimes the food bins wouldn't be filled up fast enough for everyone. but other wise it was ok Its Cuba and they are very [... read more] slow. we had a wonderful time and I would go back there again the grounds and the room were amazing. one of the best places I have been in Cuba and I have been there 6 times.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Beautiful beach

Just got back from Royalton Hicacos Varadero Cuba The Diamond Club has changed their perks so we were very disappointed!Beach area for Diamond Club had no bathroom .This was totally unacceptable as we had some with mobility issues within our group of 10 We had to move up the beach to the non Diamond area! Ask for top shelf liquor (by name )when ordering drinks We however witnessed bartenders putting cheaper brands of Liquor in top shelf bottles.We asked for Crown Royal rye and kept getting a scotch type drink ,was disgusting.We finally asked to see a unopened CR bottle sealed bottle and we actually opened the bottle.I think they finally got the hint we knew our rye .lol We did drink the different drinks but CR is our drink in the evening !Their beer is good but light tasting . All the ala carte restaurants we good but if you like to eat early you have to get to them before 6:30 or you might have to wait till 8:00 or later ,They do give you a buzzer which is a very good idea Best beef steak we have south in a long time (in the ala carte) We did not eat in the The Caribbean restaurant (Tuesday were reserved for honeymooners and returning quests) One buffet and was good ,Fruit was poor but we know Cuba is not known for its fresh fruit .Every night the buffet has a different theme of food Beach was the best we have been at !Very long and great walking beach Pools were pristine clean,cool but refreshing. Lots of construction going on but did not bother out stay They are upgrading the whole resort Beds were comfy and pillows very good Bring your own adapters for you appliances (shavers,curling irons etc.They will bring you one if needed .We had no plug in our bathroom Overall we enjoyed our vacation but we were disappointed in the Diamond Club as we paid extra for this and we were not informed of these changes before we arrived .The changes happened 2 weeks before we arrived .

Playa Caleta: A 3 star resort

The hotel is not very well kept.Dirty elevators...balkony windoes and glass needs cleaning. Food is planty but the beef and pork meat very thaugh...food is same every day.Pool and beach area well kept. Russians are too loud and rude.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Not a 5 star

No soap in the public washrooms,no facecloths in your room. Poor lighting on the walkways at night going for supper. Service was poor at meals.Ran out of food at the buffet often. Always had to ask for extra cutlery.Food was terrible.Not what we expected

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: You get what you pay for

We just returned from a one week stay ( 2 adults, 1 teen and a six year old). Beaches are beautiful naturally and the workers keep them spotless . Ernesto, Alexi and Yunior prep your lounges for you. Stellar service Beverages are cold, service is quick, and there is plenty to go around Nestor, Osbiel, Jose take great care of you Buffet always had a variety of food, servers were efficient and bldg was clean. Kids Club was solid- our 6 year old loved the ladies...Tune, Danna & Nayi Speaking with other tourists in the region, our hotel was a good one. The people who work there are what make the resort - being around all of them make it easy to be there

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: more or less

Some good points ,some bad points.First good points,fantastic beach,great service,always hot water for the showers,no lack of towels,clean rooms,great weather,over all fun holiday .Animation enjoyable. Abundant shade on beach, no rocks when entering surf. Clean beach, gardens very beautiful,good internet.Clean toilet all around.Clean pools.Kids friendly. Welcoming staff. Good desserts and cakes. Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Pleasant resort

The pool was great that we hung out at daily. Lots of shade which was important to us. The grounds were well kept and tastefully planted. The beach was amazing! Upon request, our needs were met by the housekeeping staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was unappealing and it was nice to have sit down a la cartes. We knew not to expect too much from the food. The furniture around the pool and in the lobby is not made for comfort. Why are there never chairs around the pools? Paradisus Los Cayos: Better than expected.

Was very happy with this resort for Cuba. Went with 7 people. Resort was clean with great service. Beach was amazing very clean and well laid out. Food was better than expected for the most. Nothing spectacular but still good. Room was clean and very nicely presented. Shower leaked but nothing serious. There are two small mall close by for cigars, rum and local merchandise. One is attach to Royalton. Not a lot of night life. All and all very pleased.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Alway count on Cuban Weather

We had great weather between Jan 24 - Feb 6/2020 in Santa Maria, Cuba. Must say we were disappointed in the lack of services this year. We have been at playa cayo Santa Maria 3 times previously and this time brought 2 other couples. We were very disappointed. Had to ask for service a few times in the buffet and lobby. At the a lacarte I couldn’t even cut my beef dinner and had to leave it. At the Italy a la crate we walked out as there was only one girl working all by herself. I heard one [... read more] night in the buffet they ran out of red wine, glad I drank white. Staff were short staffed thought out the resort. First week our rooms were cleaned mid day but second week the room was cleaned around 5-6pm. We had to leave room when they came to clean. I mentioned this to our air transat rep and all he could say was “embargo was the problem”. But overall weather and beaches were wonderful.

Blau Varadero: An ok experience for first all inclusive

The hotel was clean. The room bright and had a great view of the sea. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The food not up to snuff. I was warned about food in Cuba and I'm typically not a picky eater but the food was blah. By the end of the trip I was craving everything North American. Mind you, I don't have any all inclusive comparison, so overall as a hotel it was a good experience.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Ok at best

Rooms were a good size, bed was too hard. Food was ok but not a lot of options. Bathrooms were hit and miss, some had toilet seats some didn't as well with the toilet paper. My fiance also had her phone case stolen out of our safe with her credit card, id's and bank card in it. Other than that weather was great, most staff was friendly people were good. Beach was amazing.
