Bahia Principe Explore Legend: VERY NICE

IT WAS A LITTLE DISNEY WORLD. Wonderful staff, decent food, awesome activities for the kids, everywhere so clean and beautiful. All the restaurants have very good food . The employees are very friendly and helpful they go beyond helping you. They want to make sure you are happy . I would highly recommend this property because of one of the reasons the property has a lot of actives and a lot of entertainment. The beach is very beautiful and large and they also provide meals on the beach.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Great Resort!

This is the perfect family resort. Rooms are bright, big and clean. Lots of restaraunt choices and great food even in the Buffet. Lots of kids events and the pools are perfect for young ones or enjoy the beach. Staff were friendly. The kids club provided daily entertainment if you wanted to partake. Well done!

Emotions by Hodelpa Juan Dolio: Great Resort...we will be back

We stayed at the Essentia Club on the Beach. Never a line-up at the Buffet's (usual resort food). A la Carte's a little weak, no different than the Chic Resort, but not as good as Majestic Resort. Building was a little tired but clean and air conditioning worked, ample towels. Would like to have had a bottle of Rum in the room but fridge stocked daily with water, beer and soft drinks. Do not bother booking the Swim out rooms they are not like the pictures you see from Emotions in Puerto Pla [... read more]ta. The swim pool gets NO sunlight and the view is of a vine covered wall with noisy traffic on other side. We switched rooms to across the hall (no problems with this request) and were much happier with the less expensive room overlooking the private pool and the Ocean. From this room we were steps away from the pool, ocean, buffet and bar. The highlight of the resort is the amazing service and friendly staff. If other people are having problems with service and staff its a surprise to me. If you have a problem with sales people simply say no the 1st time they ask and they will be respectful. Keep in mind they are just trying to make a living but if you have no intention of buying tell them that so you don't waste their time. The free trip to Santo Domingo was worthwhile. The free Resort Spa massage was a bonus. The reports of dogs on the beach made my spouse and I a little apprehensive, but turns out the dogs were good and did not bother the guests. The beach is sandy but the shoreline has pockets of coral so beach/water shoes are recommended for comfort when in the ocean. God activation team if you like that kind of thing, we did not participate and were not pressured to do so. Always lots of available chairs on the beach and poolside. We would recommend the Lobster or Steak dinner ($40. us) on the beach as it was well worth it. Staff are happy to receive tips but do not pressure or ask for them.

Riu Bambu: Very nice resort

I would give this resort a 5 star food was great we gain 5 pounds, ground well kept lot's of place to sit in the sun or shade to have a drink and our room very clean staff amazing if we needed anything there was no problem for them to accommodate. We travel alot and this resort was great 2 thumbs up

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Good resort

The resort was great. Staff was friendly and kind. Always smiling 😊 the only problem was there was not enough for the kids to do. We had 2 10 year olds and an 8 year old. They still had a great time. The food choices were great no one complained ever of being hungry. During meals you could go to the buffet style restaurant above the pool to eat. Kids even went there a couple times by themselves. However if you need to visit medical they are very very pushy and really want to just send you to  [... read more]the hospital. Make sure you purchase health insurance! My daughter had an allergic reaction to something while we were there and they did treat her onsite and told us to come back the next day so she could check on her. The next day we went back and my daughter was better however the doctor said she was not and really wanted her to go to the hospital. I refused and then she told me there could be something wrong with her kidneys. Crazy thing to say just to get me to go!! We did not go and my daughter was 100% better the next day. Took her to the doctors when we got home and she is fine! Overall I would rate this experience at 8/10! We would definitely go to the Dominican Republic again!

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Great family resort

This resort is great for families with young kids. I booked a stay with Sensatori, but upon arrival I learned that I had been upgraded to the Nickelodeon side (most likely because of my kids). The room I booked was comparable to what I was offered on the Nick side, but included with my new room was free access to the Nick water park. The Sensatori resort is attached to/part of the Nickelodeon resort which is jam packed with kids activities and family attractions. There are adult only sections an [... read more]d adult only restaurants on the Sensatori side if you are travelling without kids, but the grounds and most restaurants are shared between both sides. The grounds are well kept and the rooms are clean. It's a fairly new resort so amenities are still very new and in very good shape. The restaurants offer good alternatives to eating at the buffet. I found the buffet to have OK food, nothing special. If travelling with kids, the buffet has limited kid friendly food. My kids ate pasta most of the time. The restaurants have kid menus, but not much options my kids were interested in. My only complaint is the food selection for the buffet and the restaurants kid menus could be better.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Not the vacation I imagined :(

After 9 hours of travelling, almost another 2 hours was spent checking in. Un-Professional staff did not provide the correct VIP bracelet or instructions to the VIP check in (which we paid for). Was scammed into paying $400 USD for a spa they advised was part of our room(s) package (checked and confirmed three times before we attended on three different days and occasions), only to find out that it was not true and that we had to pay for (Thanks Jose for not even listening) Room Keys were consta [... read more]ntly being deactivated resulting in us walking from one end of the resort to the other end. Other than then that, our Air Canada reps where able to listen to our complaints but nothing was ever done, Thank you Eliso and William at least for trying. Overall setup of the room was nice and our cleaning lady made sure it was cleaned daily (Thank you), however from when we arrived on Wednesday and informed front desk that our telephone (inside the room) was not working (for emergency reasons, still not working after we left as no one fixed/replaced the phone) and the room was infested with mosquitoes (I had to buy product to spray the room after no one came after the third day). Also we paid for the deluxe swim up (adults only) room, however due to "changes" (that we were not notified about) on the hotel grounds - the adult only section was moved and completed on the other side of the resort, but we were stuck with the old deluxe swim up that included partying until 5:00 in the morning, followed by your choice of: intoxicated guest yelling and slamming of doors or truck horns at 6:00 - 6:30 am. Goodbye rest and relaxation! Food and Beverage selection was fair, the Mexican restaurant was our family favorite! Also enjoyed the VIP bar (the one we paid for) after we "found it" on the third day into our vacation, by ourselves I felt that this "vacation" was a big money grab and a scam. I understand that some of the services provided are a means of income for some individuals, but my family and I would have been more receptive if the truth was provided to us instead of a means to just take our money. (we spent over $500 USD in tips and gifts) and would have happily spent more if there was no hiding agenda to get money from us by any means possible! Also the timeshare reps, 1 or 2 days of asking is appropriate. After the 5th day, just let me enjoy my vacation please, I already said no the first 4 days, day 5-7 will also be a no! Please notify your customers of any changes to the hotel that may have happened prior to purchasing their vacation. Also please train your front desk/ reception etiquette's in customer service please? Finally, please do not scam your guest into services that they are unaware of, it leaves a bad impression and image for your company.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Resort

Overall, we were very impressed with the resort. The pool, beach and the food serving facility were impressive. We were extremely impressed with the staff to keep the entire facility clean. The food courts were kept very clean with immediate attention to any spills. The most important things important to a Caribbean vacation were covered. The negatives were mostly regarding the extras: Weight room was unusable, Bikes were not available, Daily yoga classes were available 2x during the 7 days th [... read more]at we were there. Don't forget to bring your tip money for all meals, because you will get the cold shoulder by the waiters at your next meal. Recommend taking some excursions as it is an awesome opportunity to see Dominican way of life. Very amazing to see traffic flow with all the mopeds especially to see how many people can fit on one. Despite everybody cutting everybody off, no one seems to get upset and continue on their merry way. The Dominican way of life, despite the poverty, appears to love life as they figured out how to eliminate stress from their life!! Something we all need to learn!!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Definately Going Back

Loved this resort. Would highly recomemd. Rooms very comfortable, food was great, pool and beach were perfect. Very clean resort. Employees very polite, helpful, and obliging. Definately going to holiday here again soon

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Amazing Resort!!!

We really enjoyed this resort. Nice and compact!! Everything was a short walk away...2 minutes tops. Food was good, there was lots of variety. The spaghetti at lunch and supper was amazing. We went to 4 of the 5 a la carte's and would recommend them. Asian, Mexican, Gourmet and Italian. We heard not great things about the American BBQ so we avoided it. The staff were polite and helpful. The best part was the beach...lots of sunbeds available so you never worried about finding one no matter [... read more] what time of the day you went. Bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade but they still worked. We would go here again!!

Excellence Punta Cana: Pure heaven

Everything about this place is amazing from food, accommodations, staff, drinks , service, entertainment, beach, pools and activities. This was our second trip here and it was better than last year. We’ve been to the two other Excellence resorts in Mexico several times but we like the layout , beach and pools much better here. There’s always a daybed or lounge chair available at pool or beach. If you want quiet relaxation with top notch staff and service you won’t be disappointed.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

This is the nicest resort we've ever stayed in. The grounds were beautiful, the pools were clean and well maintained and our room was very large with two balconies. We had upgraded to the Colonial Club, the adults only section. We had access to a butler if we needed help with anything. He made a point of checking in with us each day. Our bar fridge was restocked every day. There was a light buffet in the Colonial Club's lounge with sandwiches, snacks and wine, along with various liquors. There w [... read more]as always someone at the Club's desk to assist us with dinner reservations and answering questions. Overall the food was OK. Breakfast buffets were quite good with lots on offer. Evening meals, the meat was often tough and sometimes over/under done. We've learned not to expect gourmet food at even the best resorts. We've been on a couple of open water cruises and their food far exceeds anything from the land resorts. We avoided the adults only pools for the most part because of the noisy swimup bars. In spite of our minor concerns, this is a resort we can highly recommend.

Excellence Punta Cana: Fantastic resort

Fantastic place, great food, service and beautifully kept resort. Very friendly staff. Rooms were very nice and plenty of choses for food. The beaches were very clean and well kept. Best place to stay for sure

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

I loved most of everything about this resort...Except...The main complaint by a lot of guests was the alcohool...We all agreed that it was either watered down or way below par...When we asked for name brand alcohool we were told we had to settle for the cheap brands...Just horrible...

Ocean El Faro: Ocean El Faro

Although they are still building and not fully functioning we really had a great time. We loved Carlos and Sandy as our bartenders for the week! They made it so much fun! We also loved Lidia who was our hostess most of the time!! The only complaint I have is that the H10 people, the spa people and the excursion people were bugging us way too much. This was very annoying for us all. All and all we had a fantastic time!!

Paradise Playa Dorada: Extra ordinary trip the resort was better looking than the picture on the internet

The hotel rooms were very specious and clean the bathroom was Very big and place to put your stuff . My room was a loft which it even more extraordinary .it was like really different for Me and my family. The dining was well kept at all time. The food was delicious and there was a variety. The grounds was much better looking in person than the picture on the internet clean up to date and decorated the best was valentines. Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Disappointed

We had so many issues. After posting a FB public comment out of frustration because we got no where with resort. They then called and said they would fix said issues. Sadly that was short lived. Seemed the only thing that did get fixed was hot water. That said it went to extreme hot. lol still was better then freezing cold. Food, shows and service with the privilege package more like a 3star. Anyone flashing a 5 gets premium service even over those that paid the upgrade. Riu Republica: Great Resort

This resort is beautiful, the beach is beautiful and can walk along it for a long time. It is very big, several bars, pools and restaurants. The food is amazing but there was only 1 small store to shop, which was a little odd because it is so large. They labelled the pools which I thought was a great idea so you could choose your pool atmosphere. Rooms were nice, however, only restocked the bar and coffee stuff every 2 days. Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Terrible Room Location

We have been to Punta Cana many times and stayed at many different hotels and I would have to say I would not recommend this place (Now Larimar) for seniors. We were approximately the length of 5 football fields outside the lobby, then at least another 3 or 4 football fields from the lobby to the beach. It is a lot of walking for anyone with sore knees or hips that a lot of us have ( the over 60 crowd). I ended up with large blisters walking to the beach. We did of course ask for a room cha [... read more]nge but were told the hotel is full (ha ha ) , however I am sure a lot of people in this section did the same thing. The rooms were very small compared to other rooms. We were definitely in the 2nd class section though we paid the usual price. They did say we could upgrade to the "Preferred Club" for $60.00 USD a night!!! The preferred club is what the hotel is all about. They had 2 pool, private reception rooms, upgrades amenities and what I thought was not very nice, a big restaurant by the beach for them only. Everyone else had to go up to the main buffet for lunch or eat at a small out door snack bar. The hotel itself has a lot going for it, very clean, good food, a lot of a la cartes, prompt service , etc. If we hadn't been stuck in no mans land , it would be pretty good. In the future you might tell the over 60 crowd they should probably go to a different hotel where you might walk a good distance but not miles.
