Grand Palladium Palace: Wonderful trip

Our family had an amazing time at this resort. The resort is beautiful with lots of great restaurants and food. There are many pools and they didn't ever seem overcrowded no matter what time we showed up. As a family, we were looking forward to the children's club, however, we were quite disappointed. We had a hard time finding information on children's activities and really any kid's club information in general. The resort did have some activities going on for adults as well but again,  [... read more]they weren't well publicized (sometimes posters would be up at different locations but not for all activities) so we would just happen to come across them at different times and locations throughout the resort. Overall, a fantastic stay with lots of positives.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Awesome!

The rooms were nice and. Very clean. We had a swim up room which was a new and pleasant experience for us. Foodd was good. They have a buffet and 3 alacarte restaurants (Gourmet, Italian & Mexican) 3 pools and beach were nice and always clean. Hotel staff efficient and friendly

Riu Republica: Great vacation

The resort is well laid out and easy to get around. We were there from Jan 6 to the 20th. Check in was quick and all of the resort staff were friendly and eager to please. The food was very good and the buffet was always full of choices. You could easily find a sunny or shady spot either on the beach or at the pools. Our room was large and I would recommend paying a little extra for the courtyard room. Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana

The resort is elegant, high end quality, and amazing. The service is superb. The staff are friendly, helpful, caribg, polite and respectful..The food is delicious, the beach is pleasant. Entertainment very satisfying.

Grand Bavaro Princess: AMAZING Resort

Everything about the Bavaro Princess was AMAZING, the rooms were above comfortable and kept spotless, for a huge resort it was very well kept and easy to get around with the shuttle running all the time, the pools and the staff at the pools were friendly, from the restaurants to the buffet the food was fantastic, the beach has to be one of the best we have ever been on

Excellence Punta Cana: Excellence is excellent!

Loved our recent stay at Excellence Punta Cana. The service was exceptional and our room was beautifully maintained. The food was great and we loved the fact that we didn't need reservations for any of the 10 restaurants. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a table. We will definitely go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Vacation

I traveled Jan 13-20, 2017 with a friend. This is a solid 4-star resort. Our room was a bit dated, but clean. The rest of the resort was great. Very nice lobby area for hanging out in the evenings, with spotless bathrooms. Beach was amazing, soft white sand, turquoise waters, and palm trees - postcard beautiful. We spent pretty much all day, every day at the beach. It is a busy resort area so beach is a bit crowded, no room to throw a frisbee, but it's great for people watching. However [... read more] if you're willing to go for a long walk, once you get past the Hard Rock there is a big stretch of undeveloped beach with no hotels, houses, vendors or anything which was really cool (but a lot of garbage, sadly). The only downside to the beach is that is faces northeast so you get the sunrise, but not sunset. Due to the tall palm trees the beach was in the shade by late afternoon. On a few days we migrated to the pool after 4:00 to catch the last few hours of sun. Pools were clean. It was quite windy for most of our stay which made sitting in the shade at the beach a bit chilly at times. The positive is it made for great fun playing the waves, however the waves were too big for kids. The last two days the wind died down and there were no waves, so we experienced both. Mostly a mix of sun a cloud with just a few short showers. The food was good, lots of options at the buffet, including some Dominican cuisine which was nice. We ate at the Mediterranean (seafood), Dominican, and Garden (steak) a la carte restaurants which were decent. The concierge can make your reservations right after you check in. I ate everything, including salad greens, and drank water everywhere except out of the tap and never got sick. Brushed my teeth with tap water and was fine. We had requested two beds and they had given us a room with only one bed, but we just went to the beach for lunch while they waited for a two-bed room to check out and they re-assigned us. Unfortunately it was the furthest possible room from the beach, but closest to the lobby/buffet so you win some/lose some. This is big resort which is good and bad. Lots of activities, lots of dining options, but also a bit crowded at the beach. But there were lots of chairs at the beach. You had to be there early if you wanted a lounger in the first row, but there were always a ton of empty ones in the third and fourth rows even on the days we slept in. Bottom line is I would go back and would recommend this resort to friends and family.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: "Wonderful Time and Incredible Staff"

My wife and I stayed in the exclusive "Royal Service Section" of the resort to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary for 10 days from Jan 10 to Jan 20. I can't say enough about how wonderful this resort is and how really great the service was from all the staff. It made Anne and my stay a truly memorable one, and we had a great time, enjoying walking the grounds, going to an amazing beach, walking the gardens, having the water treatment and specialty restaurants, the excellent live entertainmen [... read more]t and the activities team are some of the best resort ambassadors I have met. Special mention to Carlos, thank you again for those special room preparations, and Shanty for teaching me how to dance again. Also Shakey showing up just at the right time to put a smile on your face. What an incredible activities team over all. The golf is excellent. The resort takes on a completely different setting in the evening that is spectacular to the eye. Plus the sweet smell of incense in the air really puts you in an incredible state of mind. Again, the service sets this place apart. I highly recommend this resort to anyone be it couples or families.

Grand Bavaro Princess: BAVARO PRINCESS Bravo Bavaro!!

Beautiful and interesting grounds,with unusual Ecological area. Obviously well maintained,as were the extensive pools,restaurants and unique units. All staff were happy, helpful and added to the pleasure.Great place for kids

Riu Republica: Beautiful Hotel, great staff

We had a wonderful vacation at the new RIU in Punta Cana. Staff were excellent and very happy to be there. Entertainment was great, food was great. My only complaint was that the pools all closed at 7, being an adults only resort we were surprised that there wasn't one pool that was open later. Overall it is an excellent resort, beautiful, fresh and everything you need is right there

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort...

We stayed in a Family suite...This resort was beautiful and well keep and the grounds were beautiful.The food was great.The room was clean and well stocked.The patio was very large and plenty of seating.The bathroom had 4 towels and face cloths and a nice tub and shower.Entertainment nightly and kids shows with Lisa and Liam,they were also great.There was 4 or 5 A La Carts.The burger place was well worth the trip its a must try.The staff were amazing and when ever you thank them they always repl [... read more]ied with it,s my pleasure.Plenty of chairs at the beach and pool.Activities daily and dancing lessons.Everything was perfect i,d say.I don,t drink but my Boyfriend thought there would of been more places to drink,but other then that,we really like the place.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Nothing Special....

The grounds were impeccable, the beach was gorgeous the weather was great. The food was edible, the a la carte was terrible from booking to dessert, however that never came. Service was slow, if you were served at all. The resort was too large for my taste and pool chairs were hard to come by. However, I didn't pay a ridiculous price and had a great time.

Grand Palladium Palace: Great Trip with some exceptions

I will rate the following based on our experience at Palladium Palace; Food, Facility, Entertainment, Room and Sevice … then Overall. Food - 7/10 We found the Buffets fairly good with variety and quality. The a la carte restaurants were a bit of hit and miss; Very good – Mexican, Japanese (Show Grill), Average – Italian, Poor - Steak House. Mexican – Good menu and atmosphere, supply good quality and plentiful food. Service was the best at this restaurant. Japanese – Good Show at [... read more] the Grill (Hector), very engaging and entertaining as well the food was good. Italian – Food was average (self serve apps and pizza were good), pasta was a bit over cooked. Atmosphere was dark and service was standard nothing special. Steak House – There really nothing good to say … the self serve apps had Caesar salad just soaking in dressing, onion soup was a bit on the salty side and steaks were thin and dry. Service had a hard time getting the order correct, just a poor experience. Facility – 8/10 This is what I would consider a Super Resort – 4 resorts in one big complex, even so I have to admit the grounds were well maintained, pools were cleaned regularly and shuttles to move around the resort were abundant (really necessary). You can walk, but going from RST to the Sports Bar would be a hike. Entertainment – 6/10 The animation team was fairly inconsistent, some good/bad. Many times when an activity was scheduled (beach volleyball) you would have to chase them down to get a ball as no staff were at the beach. In the evenings, each resort within the complex would have music, but to see the shows you would need to do some walking/travelling to another area in the complex. Room – 8/10 We had a renovated Loft at the Palace, overall the room was nice the only knock was the funky design of the shower/tub and the dresser drawers in the closet need TLC. Service – 8/10 Found that tipping really went a long way to getting sustained or good service. Ie room/mini bar/buffet/bars/a la carte. Other – 2/10 In my opinion, there’s just way too much selling going on. You should have the right to a peaceful vacation (that’s what you paid for !!). Whether at the lobby, walkways, pool or beach we were constantly being solicited for Travel Club, Excursions, Spa or goods vendors. This wasn’t unique to the Palace as all resorts in the complex had the same atmosphere. For us, it got to the point that we avoided certain areas either by walking around the lobby or just not taking routes that made us pass the vendor tables. I know the Palladium probably sees this as a cash flow, but while it didn’t ruin our vacation it certainly contributed negatively. They post no reservations required at the a la carte restaurants, but with the proliferation of the Palladium App (Chat) this is no longer the case, we made 5 reservations on our 1 week vacation. I would recommend everyone take advantage of the system while you can, from our perspective it was just pandemonium at some a la carte restaurants (Japanese). Lastly, the sheer size of the resort and number of vacationers. While would had a good experience and would recommend Palladium Palace, it’s not for everyone. At least not if you’re looking for a more intimate atmosphere. Overall 7/10 Cheers

Occidental Caribe: Nice hotel

Very nice/clean/friendly! Food was good. Drinks good (however they don't have o.j. just tang??) so hope you don't want a screwdriver. Evening shows were sub par. Confusion with the staff getting us there. They took us to the wrong hotel and didn't know where our's was. Found out that it also happened to several other people. Overall I would give it an 8/10 for value.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: The best resort we have been to!!!

This is the best resort we have been to. The food was amazing. The rooms were always clean and the service was very good. People were friendly and helpful. Had a great time and would go back to this resort.

Surprise Escapes: Not surprised we got Chic, but great hotel!

Excellent small adults only. Not crowded. No reservations required for al a cartes. Modern and very clean. Comfortable Beds. Fun entertainment. Buffet was not very good, and beach very windy and wavy most days.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Fine hotel and beach

Very clean and orderly. Adults only environment so party hardy is not outrageous, but good clean fun. Food very good. Alcohol includes popular brands such as Johnny walker, etc. Staff very polite and helpful. Beach well kept, and no harassment by beach vendors.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: beautiful resort, but....

The first night we were locked out of our room because of "faulty card keys". At bedtime I was left standing in the hall for a good ten minutes while my son returned to the lobby yet again so we could gain access to our room. The next day we were locked out again in the morning and again in the afternoon. The mini fridge had only pop and beer no alcohol. The shower was horrendous, that huge shower head fell off every time we showered, hitting me and also my son on the top of the foot [... read more]. We decided to use one of the drawers and found two syringes inside!!!!! One day instead of being taken by the "train" directly to our room we were chauffeured around the grounds and I must say I was stunned. The grounds etc were absolutely beautiful. The kids area with the swimming pool and large water animals looked great. I was amazed at how large and gorgeous the property actually was. We were compensated with two half bottles of Barcelo Bavaro rum and a plate of chocolate which were very nice and totally not expected. So yes, I would recommend Barcelo on the given that all the above problems were resolved.

Occidental Punta Cana: Has Potential

This resort is still in need and presently getting upgraded but are experience was very satisfactory even after a shaky start to our vacation (leaky room, no TV, no beer in fridge) but we moved rooms within the hour and were happy with everything after that. Food was good, service was excellent (resort was not too busy though), maybe could have had more on-site activities going on during the day on the beach and around the pools, night time music/shows were very good. All in all a good experienc [... read more]e and wouldn't hesitate to go back at the price we paid.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Good and Bad

The resort itself was good. The grounds were always clean, the room and food was excellent, and the staff were amazing. However there are three issues that we had with the resort. First, for the a la carte restaurants, it was based on a first come system. That meant if you did not line up at 4pm, the chances were you would not get in. The second issue was the beach. It was small and extremely crowded. It was our understanding that a storm washed away at least 15 to 20 or more feet of the beac [... read more]h, reducing it to a patch of sand. The last issue was the persistence of the "vacation club" sellers. They would not leave you alone and essentially ruined the holiday. They would not take NO as an answer.
