Krystal Grand Cancun: The price was right!

The resort met all my expectations, and the service was great. Only complaints were that the elevator was slow and there was sargassum was on the beach (which may have been unlucky timing). The location was great though and I would recommend this place to a friend!

Grand Sunset Princess: Big and very well maintained

We had a very relaxing time at the Sunset Princess. Service was stellar, food was very good at the ala carte restaurants and there were plenty of activities. Would definatly go back. The seaweed issue at the beach was a bit of a problem but that was Mother Natures fault.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice resort

The resort was very large but was well layed out. The food was fantastic. The rooms were cleaned daily but they did not do good cleaning of the floors. The pool was very dirty. The guy serving at the pool bar was fantastic and he should have had some help. The beach was terrible .... you could not use it for swimming due to the seaweed. They tried to clean it up but there was just too much. But having said all that, if is a nice resort and we enjoyed our vacation.

Grand Riviera Princess: Wonderful mother/daughter vacation

This resort had everything we were hoping for plus more! Beautiful grounds that are kept extremely clean, the staff are all very friendly and respectful. Entertainment crew are very social and outgoing and the evening shows are pretty good but are more tailored towards kids. Drinks were unreal! Restaurants were all amazing except for the steakhouse. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Not happy

We paid for pool view and we received highway view. The staff told us that the hotel was full so we tipped the guy at the counter to “look harder”. Finally we got a pool view room. There was loud construction in the unit directly above us so my baby could not sleep during the day. The resort was obviously not at capacity, we met lots of people who said that their neighbors room was empty. The room next to us was empty all week. The food was nothing special. The doctor on the resort only accepted 150 USD cash just to be seen (The resort doctors are free in Cuba). I would never go back to this resort again.

Riu Flamingos: A pleasant stay

RIU Jalisco is a great place to spend a relaxing week.The grounds and common areas are beautiful, spacious and clean.There appear to be plenty of loungers at the pools and beach. The staff are very pleasant and the food is great. One feature we really liked is that all restaurants are available on a first come first served basis.We never had a problem getting a seat at any restaurant. We chose a standard room which only had a couple of little chairs and a pub table. In future I would upgrade to  [... read more]a room with easy chairs or a sofa. The floor of the shower stall was very slippery; an accident waiting to happen.The Sunwing staff were at the resort every day and were very helpful.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Excellent resort - impeccable service

Secrets Silversands is a great resort! Smaller than some which makes it easy to navigate. Lots of pools from the very lively to the secluded. Rooms are huge. Service outstanding all through the resort.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Decent, but not a 5 star!

Where to start? We travel lots and LOVE the RIU Hotel chain. This was no different - we loved it as well. Grounds are kept immaculate, rooms cleaned whenever you need it to be basically... nice turn down service. Housekeeper was wonderful. Pools, and beach areas clean. Bar service is awesome, and extends to the beach as well, which is right behind the pool bar! Waiters come serve you on the beach. Fabulous service! Entertainment was so so... caught a couple of shows - Michael jackson, and Th [... read more]e Circus), but weren't going out of our way not to miss one LOL... (I wish the violinist was playing in the lounge) not just in or outside of the restaurant... I didn't like the fact that the pool bar closes at 6:30 - leaving a couple of options - the sports bar, or the lounge, and that the lounge entertainment ( a pianist/singer) left when the "show" started, and wasn't there every night. I felt the lounge should have ongoing entertainment for people who wanted to just chill and have some drinks. The buffet food was 3 star at best - very repetitive ALL week ( we were there for 2) and although you could always find something good to eat, it was not anything outstanding. I have to mention the Alonsio, our favorite server was amazing, however... the best server we have ever had! Look for him - his section is the one closest to the pasta station/ soup bread area. He's the best! The room was pretty nice, we were in an "oceanview junior" suite that also had a jetted tub. Problem was the tub was super narrow, and I am not a big girl, and essentially the whole jetted tub experience was non existent, because you have no room to move, and for the water to swish around.. so disappointing! The view was great, but - I have to say, we have stayed at the RIU Vallarta in a "partial ocean view" and the view THERE was better! The ocean view at RIU Palace is confined to between the inside edges of the hotel - because you are pushed back, whereas the partial ocean view had a better broader scope of the ocean! So, in a nutshell we would not pay extra for this suit again... we would go with a partial. To answer a few common questions: The beer in the room refrigerator which is stocked daily is Tecate Original. Also replenished daily is water, soft drinks, club soda etc. There is also Dos Equis, Tecate Light and Bohemia at the restaurants, lounge, sports bar. There is a coffee maker in the room - the coffee is also stocked daily. There is a magnifying mirror in the room about 3 Xs magnifying - so if you're eyes need something a bit stronger, be sure to bring your own. We would recommend it, yes, and we would go back - BUT we would likely go to the Varrata before this one. The Vallarta was just a funner experience over- all - we have been there twice. Love this stretch of beach!

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Top of the class resort

We spent 11 amazing days at Iberostar Quetzal in Playa del Carmen and it was absolutely fantastic! People did their best to accommodate us. Front desk team is very professional and did a wonderful job to make our stay memorable. Thumbs up to Francesco for being so efficient! The waiters were all so courteous and polite. We never had to fetch for our drinks, restaurant / beach / pool.... We are foodies and enjoy good food and were very pleased with the quality and variety of food served in a la  [... read more]carte and buffet restaurants. Especially loved the Italian a la carte resto, wood oven, fresh pizza and home made pastas. Attentive service from all and especially from our server Nathaniel! He was so nice, made our dinning experience Top of the class! The Méditerranéen restaurant had nice hors d’oeuvres and good selection of fish snd seafood. The natural exotic jungle forest was so wonderful, every day we would see beautiful peacocks, pink flamingos, toucans, monkeys tree hoping! Waterfalls everywhere, amateurs of nature will be amazed by it’s beauty! Pool is impeccable, as is the entire resort! Daily musical entertainment on both sides, Tucan & Quetzal, nightly shows are pretty good also! One of the perks! Foam party in the pool!!! If you are looking for a quality resort next to Playa del Carmen, this is one of the best! Been at Riu, very loud all day long, sometimes you like peace and quiet and Iberostar has the perfect balance of entertainment for all ages! They actually have staff walk around during the day to offer you fresh towels!!! Never have I seen such service and I have been to Riu’s, Paradisus, Melia’s, Palace many luxury resorts and this place is not as flashy or new as others but has much more to offer in terms of memorable experiences. Loved the wide, sandy beach, very well maintained considering the seaweed situation in the Caribbean. 5 star hotel Would love to go back and learn more about Iberostar memberships it was a great resort thanks to the great people that work there 😊

Barcelo Maya Palace: The truth and nothing but ...

First of all don't fly Air Canada Rouge. The seats were very uncomfortable. Compared to Air Transat is far superior. I thought when we were booking from agency that they would have first hand knowledge about the resorts condition. Let's say they was so much seaweed it was unbearable to swim and the smell was so awful. I was very disappointed because the conditions where like that for over 4 weeks. We should have been notified before booking. Also we had some issues with the room. Fir [... read more]st of all the phone was broken, the bar fridge wasn't working. No hot shower on two occasions. Also the sinks wouldn't drain and if you turn on the tap the water would spray out of the sink. We saw a bug that looked like a cockroach. The resort failed to tell us how to book for the restuarants. I also had a medical emergency and went to hospital. The resort /management never asked how I was feeling or if I was ok . Just on that premises I would not recommend this resort.

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Fantastic holiday

We were more than happy with every aspect of the resort. From amazing food to a fantastic view from the room. All the employees were very pleasant and helpful. The only issue upon arriving was finding out that we had been moved to a different room. We had initially reserved a ocean view room to find out it wasn't. It was worked out the next day and moved to another room by lunch. Other than that it was a fantastic holiday.

Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta: Simply Amazing.

From the 5 Star food to the service of all the friendly staff & management, the Resort is nothing short of Amazing, & the quality of life that can be found here is exquisite. Beautiful sand beaches, Gorgeous Green Palm Trees, how could you not find yourself in a piece of Heaven wishing you didn't have to go home !! Definitely would recommend again !

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful Resort

The grounds and public areas were spotless and beautiful. Always someone working on the grounds. Unfortunately, the beach was not very nice due to the seaweed problem, which they worked on daily but there is just too much of it. The pools were great and clean. The only problem is not with the hotel but with selfish vacationers who think that they own the lounge chairs and spots for their whole vacation time. They arrive around 5:30 am and reserve their seats for the day and most of them [... read more] do not arrive till after 11:00 am! I believe the hotel should try and control this by not allowing people to put their towels out and disappear for hours on end. I was told that if I saw this happening all I have to do is go to the Reception and have someone remove the towels. That is ridiculous, there is no way I am running to the reception every day! They should have someone monitoring the pool areas and removing the towels. Instead of paying a Butler, that people don't really need, they should simply pay someone to take care of the reserving of seats! Food was great, restaurants were good, but they should have more choices at the restaurants. People working at the restaurants/bars, work very hard and do a great job of ensuring you have all that you need. Cleaning staff do a wonderful job and all in all no complaints, had a wonderful time at this resort!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort

The grounds were nice, some jungle areas with lots of wildlife. We saw deer, raccoons,capabarras, iguanas and quatis. The pols were great multilevelled for relaxing, swimming or suntanning. Plenty of activities to do like foam party or a zip line across the pool. Food was good plenty of selection. Our first room had a broken a/c so we were moved without any fuss. It turned out to be a nicer room with a walk in shower and double sinks. The room safe was included as was wifi for one device. The be [... read more]ach was nice except for the seaweed. It was all along the coast at most of the resorts and by late afternoon you could smell it. They were raking it up constantly. But The seaweed issue is not the resorts fault it’s all over the Caribbean.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Beautiful resort, amazing ammenities and out of this world staff!

We visited the Princess Yucatan for a week and were blown away. The staff remember your name and are extremely accommodating. Its in a great location with tons of excursion options. The multiple pools are fantastic pools with great events daily as well as nightly entertainment in the theatre. Really enjoyable week!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Excellent resort!

The resort is absolutely amazing, however be prepared to walk as it is very large. Not complaining as the amount of fabulous food you eat, you need the walks...The reason we went there was to snorkel, however due to the seaweed that is on every coast we were limited unfortunately (no fault of theres) as they worked diligently every day to try to remove it but way too much to handle :(. Platinum Yucatan Princess: Nice well kept resort, but beach is unusable to to sargassum seaweed. HUGELY DISAPPOINTING!

The resort itself is a beautiful resort. It is well kept and clean. The food was great. Unfortunately, we were not informed of the unusable beach due to the sargassum seaweed. It was DISGUSTING, and the smell throughout the resort due to the seaweed was HORRIBLE. Reviews say a "bit" of seaweed, and smell can not be smelled throughout the resort. This is FALSE.
