Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Ok

We ( eight of us) just came Back from spending one week at the Iberostar Playa Pilar resort in near Cayo Coco. Not sure what the issue is, but the resort had an infestation of flies. There was also an issue of cockroaches in the Main buffet. I witnessed a cockroach running across the counter where the hot food was stationed as well as on the floor. I do believe the Iberostar should look into why they have this issue. I have been to Cuba before and did not experience anything like that. On a pos [... read more]itive Side cuba has beautiful beaches. The sea at the hotel is calm and serene. However, if you are not fortunate enough to grab a Cabano bed at the seaside, you will be sitting without shade. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. The hotel is in need of a renovation. I have no doubt that when it was built, it was a five-star resort. Now I would give it a three at best. We booked dinners in the A-la carte restaurants. They were in a closed area, so there was no fly problem. We especially enjoyed the Japanese restaurant. We spent one day at the spa. The staff there were truly customer service oriented. The food is kept covered and the pool is a quiet place to relax. Their washrooms are much cleaner than the main lobby. All in all we made the best of it and enjoyed each other's company.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: The hotel has its good and bad

The entertainment, the pool area, the beach are all great. Great. The à la carte restaurants are very good too. The buffet and snack area are not good as they are full of flies. The buffet area even had roaches on the floor. The food in the buffet area is not even covered which would help prevent flies from landing on food.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Poor

No good service, they never have towels , in the bathroom the door could not be closed , …… the food very poor . This hotel is not recommender , .. the person who puts the chairs on the beach is very rude and has bad manners

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Beautiful Hotel, sucks for entertainment!

Good people, Beautiful hotel, beautiful beach everything is brand-new but the food is not good at all, and there is no theater or hall for entertainment. They always run out of something. One thing for sure if you want to loose weight come to this hotel. Bring your own kitchen

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Very Good Resort

I just returned from a trip at this resort (Aug 2023). The resort itself is in very good condition and clean and the grounds are in excellent condition. The resort is small and all the buildings are quite close. The beach is beautiful and there was never an issue getting a chair under an umbrella. Coffee and drinks were available in many different areas of the resort. The food was ok, better than I expected. There was a beach bbq everyday which was the best option. Breakfast was also good [... read more]. The swim out rooms are a nice bonus if you can get one of those rooms. The nightly entertainment was a lot of fun and the staff did their best to keep us entertained. I would definitely recommend this resort if you're looking for a simple budget getaway.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Beautiful resort

We were at this hotel for 14 days, the service vas very good, the room vas clean and cold, we enjoyed the beach and pools, the food-well it's Cuba, they did their best with what they had, we didn't miss anything, we would like to have more vegetables , but it vas not that bad, the drinks were good, we enjoyed the drinks made by Alfred at the cigar bar, also the drinks at the lobby bar and beach bar. Thanks to all the staff of Coral Level for the good service.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: 100% YES

We upgraded to Coral Level. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary. Loved that it was smaller. Roof top room was beautiful. Pool was great. Staff was fantastic. Beach was STUNNING! Will be planning a return trip. 1.25 hour ride from airport.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Fine resort

Food quality could have been better The beach was overall good but the side of this resort were stones and sea weed underneath so we had to go the other side of the beach nearby resort to swim in peace..Overall it was great and staff was helpful and polite.. Boring night parties though

Overall fair resort, lack of staff, activities, room service , beach is nice , no money exchange available, gift shop the size of my bathroom, and hardly ever open , nowhere to buy cigars , wifi always crashing

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Nice vacation

I liked the hotel. Overall well maintained and very clean. The gardens well manicured. No litter. Beaches clean, no algae, tractor with disc harrow cleaning the sand every morning to refresh it. The food was just OK and kinda repetitive. I didn't like any of the sweets, they were too dry. The service was very good. Entertainment was also good.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Nice resort, amazing service but lack of maintenance

We recently had an azing stay at the resort. I was very please by the quality of the service. The people were dedicated to address any of our needs with a large smile. However, we had multiple issues with the window and after the team came to fix the lock, the frame of the window was broken. It was quiet dangerous since the glass was not sucurly attached. I asked for someone to fix it but no one came...

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Wonderful vacation!

My husband and I stayed at Iberostar Coral Esmeralda for a week, July 25-August 1, and had a wonderful time. The staff was wonderful, very caring and proactive in anticipating our needs, especially Ariel and Juan Carlos (thanks again for making our stay so lovely!). The grounds are beautiful, our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The food was tasty and plentiful, as were the drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The pig roast at the beach bar was fantastic and would  [... read more]highly recommend. The beach is gorgeous. 23 km of white sand and clear water. We spent hours in the water each day. People complain about the lack of variety in the food, however, I feel like we need to keep in mind that the political situation in Cuba is the worst it has ever been and locals barely have enough food to survive. Staff did a fantastic job with what supplies they had. If you have a complaint about the food, complain to upper levels, not the staff that are working 16 hour days (Yup - 16 hour days!) to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Also, while Cuba has a very good medical system, they are in dire need of supplies. If you can, bring some extra Tylenol and whatever else to leave for staff. Thanks again to the staff. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Beautiful Clean Resort

We just came back from Iberostar Holguin. It's a beautiful 7 day vacation. The hotel is beautiful and clean we are in the 3rd level and 2 connected rooms. Beautiful modern big and clean. The room attendants changing lenins everyday and towel. Everytime we came back room is nice and clean. With fresh bottled water. Beach is really nice two beaches for a small children near the hotel and the other one is in the other side and you have to cross this beautiful wooden bridge. Or you can ride. On  [... read more]the club car. Lots of them so all you have to do is pick up the phone and tell them to pick wherever you are. Or if you are at the beach let the security guard know or life guards. Food at this resorts is abundant. No shortage for sure. Lots of choices. From breads cold cuts cheeses meats seafood pastas and different kind of rice . Lots and lots of selection. Plus lots of desserts and fresh fruits!!! Amazing fruits and fresh juice. And delicious coffee I always get cappuccino .the manager at the bar and buffet and 4 other restaurants is Hippolito amazingly friendly man. Keep up the good work sir!! all servers is nice and helpful. They're always happy to serve you. Mayelin always takes care of us. And the others too. Cocktails and wine.. rum vodkas and whisky.. you have it all. From checking in Yemina is their to help you and Christian. Any other questions the public relations, Wilkyns is so amazing kind always happy to help you in anything. I love people at this Resort. Everyone of them even I didn't even mention names. They are very lovely people. Resort has a 24 hr snack Bar and 24 hr bar as well. Beach has bar to get drinks. And snack. Over all this place is beautiful it's has 3 big pool and other one is for kids. It's fun here too entertain ment every night. And lots of daytime activities. For people who wanted to know if there's mosquito? My son is sensitive to a mosquito bite and he didn't have any single one. It's a beautiful vacation. Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: The good, the bad and the ugly.

Damaged hotel unrepaired. A la carte not worth it. Bad food indigestion for 4 days and closes down 2 days after. Privilege section without supervision. We pay (300$ extra approx.) but anyone went there. Room was ok. and we were lucky ones because we heard of horror stories. No more Cuba for a while, until they get their things together. Beaches need some taken care of before they disappear

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Very nice place

We were 3 families and each of us enjoyed this nice resort. Attentive staff, good kitchen with fresh meals, very clean rooms with every day bed linen change, well maintained walk passes, easily accessible beach mini shuttles, good service at the beach! The only 2 things that could be different were the early check out at 7 am, followed by an announce of the flight delay in 5 minutes. And the evening animation for adults offered very little... Iberostar Coral Holguin: Extremely, amazing resort.

Extremely,Extremely Amazing, beautiful resort. I would certainly go back for another vacation. All interaction with employees and ground workers were pleasant, respectful and interesting. I must say That I enjoyed my stay there Immensely.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Amazing Resort!

The Tripcentral.ca provided excellent vacation package with reasonable price for us (2 adults + 2 children) in July 2023. Our travel was smooth with no difficulties. Our environmentally-friendly resort is spreading over 400 hectares of sea beach area that is itself a small town with 3 hotels and all the required facilities (many restaurants and cafes) in the heart of the mangrove forest. The beauty of the resort is enhanced by the peacocks, flamingoes, racoons and other birds and animals that ar [... read more]e roaming around the resort. The resort staff are very friendly and always eager to assist us. Adequate resting shadow-spaces on the beach, with plenty of beach towels, are available to a large number of guests at any time. The white-sandy beach of the resort in July was wonderful with little or no water-floating weeds. It was also well secured by the local police petrolling regularly. Our 2 kids also enjoyed in snorkeling and other programmes of the resort on the beach and free boat rides. The dishes served were very delicious, with varieties - that fit both non-veg and veg people. Interesting programmes of the hotel engage both adults and kids throughout the day - well organized way. The hotel rooms are spacious, with sound air-conditioning system. We got nice walks to reach different places of interest in the resort. However, the dinning places were getting too crowded at the time we visited (July). Most of the rooms in our hotel are not facing sea view. Marketing to get membership of the resort was rigorous and time-consuming for us - we were asked to have 5-star hotel visit and breakfast there, along with visit to golf course and other places in the resort - that did not attract us. Overall, it was a memorable and amazing vacation for all of us.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Iberostar Selection Varadero

Just came back from a week in Cuba at Iberostar Selection Varadero. Went with 3 teenagers and a spouse and booked the Family room. These are two adjoining rooms with one room having 3 double beds and one room having a king bed. Each room has a bathroom with shower and tub. The hotel overall is very dated and requires quite a bit of updating. The food wasn't very good and is repeated daily in multiple restaurants. Water is very hard to find as they have a water shortage so you must bring your ow [... read more]n reusable bottles and can only get water at the pool bar or main lobby. Staff are extremely slow and not terribly friendly and let me tell you, if you don't tip, even for water while eating dinner you won't get service again. Tipping here is at an all time high due to economic pressures and the Cuban currency at an all time low. Entertainment staff come out asking for tips before, during and after each show. Staff dress up as statues holding a basket asking for tips when you walk around the resort. All drinks are warm as ice is almost impossible to find which means beer is flat, wine is very hot and you can't get something to cool you down. The beach is absolutely beautiful and like our of a movie. You can walk for miles and it doesn't get deep, it was a dream to swim in. The pool is the same but has almost zero shade so bring a hat along with your reusable water bottles. Went snorkeling off the beach where it's $20 per person in CASH to take an hour long trip right off the beach. Was totally worth the $100 for the 5 of us to enjoy. The fish and sea life were incredible. Overall the trip was good but wouldn't go back anytime soon. More so due to the economy and the resort just not having normal essential items right now that I would prefer to have on vacation. Cold drinks, drinking water, clean sheets and air conditioning that runs properly. I know it's Cuba and it's not what we are accustomed to, but I feel the basics are lacking right now and will consider Cuba again in maybe 5 years.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Amazing,super quiet

We, a couple, have just returned from our vacation to Level Coral Holguin ,18+ .First ,you should know that it occupies a corner of a very big resort called Selection Coral Holguin which is mainly for families (please have a look at Google maps to unerstand more).It has its own entity, reception ,a bar , a long private swimming pool with a bar ,and an excellent Coral restaurant a la cart Three meals where you have a 5 star service .Secondly, you can share all the amenities of the other main ho [... read more]tel.This can offer you many varieties including other 3 restaurants a la cart, a big buffet (very near to your rooms), a vivid lobby and a terrace outside. The resort has two places near and far across the the bridge. You can walk there or call the shuttle( it is very frequent). Every corner is kept clean.room service twice a day.rooms are new and clean. No problems. Cubans are super nice people. While they try to keep their heads above water ,they did their best to put you on their heads.this resort is for those who look for a super quiet place .we will come back. .Thank you everybody there for the warm and special welcome and stay.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Excellent Experience

Rooms were clean, as was the property, grounds and pools. The staff was friendly and service was excellent. This was the first time I have been to Cuba and the beaches are beautiful. The food at this resort was quite good, and better than I expected based on other people’s reviews of food in Cuban based resorts.
