Riu Palace Costa Rica: Very nice resort

Grounds,restaurants, pools ,staff were all great. Love the bartenders at the swim up bar and pool areas. The entertainment was amazing around the pools and at night. Beautiful country would recommend frank the tank services great service

Riu Reggae: Amazing resort!!

It was our first time in Jamaica and this resort was clean and well maintained. The staff were courteous and the food was fantastic. The beach is ok. Overall we had a fantastic stay and are looking to bring our kids with us next time

Riu Republica: Great holiday

The Republica exceeded our expectations. Food was good , alcohol was decent if you asked for the better stuff they gave it to you. The staff very good. Resort super clean the rooms a little dated but clean and comfortable. Anything you asked for they delivered. Beach was great and never an issue to get chairs. Fun place too!

Riu Emerald Bay: Amazing Resort

Rooms, food & service was fantastic. Maids were amazing & waiter’s. Great bartender’s. The only downfall is that the entertainment needs to be improved. They need at least a Michael Jackson impersonator. They also need the head of entertainment to speak better English. P.S I’ll never book with Trip Central as my agent told me & emailed me a visitax form that cost me for 2 $58.71 US dollars. I then find out I didn’t have to purchase it. Not for Mazatlan, Mexico. Riu Playa Blanca: Excellent Vacation- Riu Playa Blanca Panama

My husband and I visited Riu Playa Blanca at the end of January and loved it! It was HOT!! We were extremely happy with the hotel. It was clean, staff always working maintaining the grounds, food was great and many drink options. It’s nice to have a bar that’s open 24 hours with snacks. The staff were extremely nice and very attentive. The beach was great! Dark sand and warm water. Make sure to wear sandals to walk to the beach or you’ll burn your feet! Riu Palace Jamaica: Beautiful resort

Beautiful rooms. All areas incredibly clean. Staff cleaning everywhere all the time. Fantastic food, buffet all a la cartes, snack bar. All staff cheerful, helpful, anticipated needs. Lovely beach. Plenty of seating at beach and pools.

Riu Playa Blanca: Clean but hot!

Hotel was clean. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Pool area was a great time with knowledgeable bartenders and lunch buffet served poolside daily. Beach was clean and raked every night but the sand was super hot! Wears shoes! The food was amazing! My only compliments were they did not restock the fridge unless you called and requested it, there were not any off resort activities available and it was a whole lot hotter than I was expecting with the only a/c in the entire resort being in yo [... read more]ur room and the wifi cut out constantly the whole week.

Riu Montego Bay: Great resort

3rd time there food was good entertainment was great all day and night. Great customer service from the front desk to the server's at the buffet Rhianna and Samantha thank you very much and to the cleaners. The pools were awesome 5 to choose from the beach is great the water not so much lots of seaweed my only complaint is the vendors trying to sell you illegal stuff all the time it makes you not want to go to the beach. Other than that great time.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Awesome service!

From the get go top notch service at breakfast,lunch or dinner. Wait staff was phenomenal. Facility was impeccably clean and our room had a spectacular view. Highly recommend! Food at buffet and a la carte was very good to excellent. We will use the Riu brand again.

Riu Yucatan: Can't go wrong

The grounds are well keot and everything is within close proximity. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pools and beach are great and the service is good. I have been at this resort 4 times now and I keep going back because it is a great place!!

Riu Negril: Great place

The Riu Negril is what I would consider on the smaller side which I prefer. The staff are amazing from the bartenders, the wait staff, the cleaners and maintenance crew. Awesome people and always ready to help. The resort could use some updates but has everything you needed. There are 3 restaurants requiring reservations Luigis, Steakhouse and the gourmet restaurant and all others are first come first serve. Never had to line up. The main buffet - Green Island for breakfast and dinner was good [... read more]. Lots of choices. The Mandalay was really good - Asian flare. There was a white night on Saturday nights on the beach - lots of fun. Great beach for walking and always lots of chairs. There is a quiet pool that we spent most time if not at the beach. The beach has a bar and a jerk chicken hut - which was amazing. All in all was a good trip. Other than some updates and making the rooms more accessible. The thing that I did not like is at 5:00 pm every day they fog the resort with whatever pesticide they use. We would stay in for an hour after which would make us miss the beautiful sunsets. Should do this when everyone is sleeping. All in all I would recommend this resort.

Riu Tequila: loved the tequila hotel!

We have stayed here 5 times and thoroughly enjoy all the trees and bushes and spaciousness of the grounds. I do think there is too much food waste though. For instance the steak house- the portion I got was enormous and I could only eat 1/3 as it was way too much meat. I would suggest to advertise 2 sizes- small and large.Also there is no. need to have the buns as an appetizer when we have another appetizer. Also too many people stop to feed the animals roaming- better signage here also needed to not do so and enforce with staff discouraging it. Riu Santa Fe: Oceanview room was fantastic!!

Our oceanview room was overlooking the infinity pool, with a view across the bay of the rock formations that included the Arch. We were able to watch cruise ships come and go. The grounds of the Riu Santa Fe are well kept, with gardeners out each day. We used the infinity pool daily in which the water was clear and well maintained. Hotel staff was constantly cleaning all areas of the resort and our room was well cleaned daily. The fridge and coffee supplies were well stocked. The activity gr [... read more]oup was very energetic with programs going on daily to entice guests to partake in pool activities. The main buffet (Baja California) always had a good selection of food. Our favourite choice of the a la carte restaurants was the Kulinarium that had the best beef tenderloin we have every had in the Carribean. Reservations are not required for all a la carte restaurants. We stayed at this resort for the first time in 2019 and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the resort has been nicely redecorated, as well as the rooms. We stayed in Villa 7 which has a large open foyer that includes a sculpture in the middle of the foyer. Guests passing through this area would often spin the orb in the middle of the sculpture which created a loud, disturbing noise during all hours of the night. We did bring this to the attention of customer service upon leaving.

Riu Playa Blanca: Excellent

The Riu Playa Blanca is a beautiful hotel, the staff are very helpful, friendly and keep the whole hotel up to standards expected. The grounds are well manicured and the restaurants are all excellent. If anything is spilled throughout the resort the staff are right there to clean it up, the floors are spotless. The bar pool buffets were a great touch too.

Riu Guanacaste: Gorgeous and lush grounds

The grounds are unbelievable - lush and full of life. From birds to iguanas to monkeys - you’ll see it all. The food is great considering it’s all buffet. Checkin was exhausting - hotel staff did not guide us to our room and when we finally found our room, the sheets were not to our standards. They were washed but had some stains on them. Housekeeping stepped it up for the remainder of our stay (thank goodness!) All in all, we would recommend based on the price and the overall experience. [... read more] One major thing to note - the music is loud! If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, not the place, but if you want a party, you’ll love it.

Riu Tequila: Riu Tequila : Perfect for me .....

The best asset this resort has is the STAFF. No matter what area you are in, front desk, buffet, bar, room service, pool and beach areas and yes even ground keepers They all seem to really care, they help you in feeling comfortable, relaxed, secure and happy. The location is excellent, heavily secured gated community in the heart of Playacar. Easy access to gorgeous beach and 200 pesos taxi ride gets you to 5th Avenue. No watered down drinks, you can have them made as strong as you like. Music and entertainment very colorful and energetic. Super great place to unwind, relax or to dance and party. Simply put I love it and shall return !!!

Riu Palace Peninsula: Amazing resort

Resort was beautiful, the grounds are nice and clean, beach if very nice and close, food and drinks very good, Hotel staff was very nice, location was great. All in all it was one of the best resort we have been to.

Riu Negril: great vacation all things considered

This was our 1st time returning to a resort and our 1st time doing two weeks which speaks volumes for this resort. We took our own shuttle from the airport to the resort due to our visit last year and we arrived a couple hours ahead of the provided shuttle. Our room was an ocean view on the bottom floor because we have a hard time doing stairs but if you don't mind stairs then do the ocean view from above. We didn't complain about the toilet that needed a handle jingle to stop it from filling or [... read more] the many other minor issues in the room because we liked the room and it was very clean. After a few days of very poor sleep we asked to have the very saggy mattress replaced which was quickly provided. The grounds are well kept and they sprayed for insects several times in the middle of the day putting a huge cloud of pesticide behind their very noisy sprayer. This bothered some patrons much more than I because I would rather that, than be bit by insects all the time. It would be nice if they could spay before the sun comes up but the noise would wake everyone. A quieter sprayer would solve this issue if possible. There is a constant army of grounds keepers working to keep the grounds and beach looking great. The beach itself is very sandy and raked and cleaned every morning. There is a huge sandy area in the water where there is no grass for those that don't like the grass feel on their feet. Other resort water areas are a mix of grass and sand. I snorkeled every day while there and there is a small narrow reef that starts mid way to the swim buoys and extends out beyond the buoys. I've seen all the same stuff you would see on any other coral reef but on a much smaller scale. Be aware that there are many lion fish, barracudas, nurse sharks, sea urchins and sting rays out there. Shore fishing is no longer allowed this year from the resort beach so I would fish on either side of the resort property almost every morning. There are many small fishing boats adjacent to the property which I went out on. Just remember that they are very negotiable. Last year we hired Stanley's and they were cheaper and they have a proper fishing boat. The entertainment staff is very fun and provided lots of great activities. Negril is on the west side of Jamaica and most of the time the winds there are coming off the land and so we never had one day where it was red flagged. We have been to many resorts on the north part of the island and some stays we were lucky if we had 2 or 3 days where we were not red flagged and forget about snorkeling most days on the north side. The pools are thoroughly cleaned every morning including the pool decks. Our 1st week we stayed by the swim up bar pool and the 2nd week we stayed on the beach. I am not a fan of swim up bars because patrons will “stay” in the water for hours drinking however, they do seem to enjoy it more than the other pool. The locals are allowed only by the edge of water to sell their wares and security does a great job keeping them off the resort property. Security was a little slack enforcing the resort wide no smoking policy even though there are several designated smoking areas. Patrons would smoke and vape in most outdoor areas especially by the pools. It was nice to see that reservations are required for some restaurants but I found that most of them were no better than the main dining room and actually some not as good. You could always find very good food in the main dining room but the seafood seemed to be consistently over cooked in all eating areas. Overall this resort is well maintained and very clean but clearly in need of upgrades and my rating is based on this, however, this resort is scheduled to close in August for a few months for renovations and I look forward to a return visit to see the differences.

Riu Playa Blanca: Absolutely Fantastic Resort

The rooms were great. The staff were always cleaning floors etc. Lobby, halls and pool area. Very clean and well kept. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was very good. After the 1st day I said I'm coming back next year! Weather was brilliant! Thanks for an awesome week!!

Riu Flamingos: Overall Really Happy with Resort

Gonna keep this short and sweet cause I know I hate reading those long winded reviews. THE GOOD The grounds were well kept and clean. The food was probably the best at any resort i've been too so far. Lots to choose from. The pools (one smaller, quieter one and one bigger with swim up bar and music) were nice and no problems finding chairs at 9:00/9:30am, if you didn't go down super early. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The beach vendors (handful of them throughout the day) didn't hound you. If you said no, they moved on. There was also a hut on the beach where you could purchase the same items. THE NOT SO GOOD One thing I didn't like about the resort was how loud the nightly entertainment was. I don't think it mattered where on the resort you were staying but i'm sure you could hear it clear as day. We sort of faced toward the stage area and the walls shook at times. The resort is in a "U" shape with 6 floors and only one elevator in the main lobby area. If you are older or unable to do a lot of stairs, I would request something on the first floor or near the elevator.
