Hotel Caracol: Amazing for kiteboarding!

This resort is excellent for kiteboarders. Steady wind for 11 days non-stop (April 5-17). Resort itself is great too. Friendly people, good food, comfortable room. Will definitely back as soon as possible.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: It was ok

To big to cut up. No one smiled. No music. I think if there was music at all the bars and coffee stations they would be happier. It would have been nice if or representative was there when she said she would be there so we could get information on thinks would have been nice. Had to ask Sunwing rep and got all the information we needed.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: amazing trip

The hotel was very clean and we'll maintained staff was always pleasant the food was good especially the pasta and ice cream enjoyed being able to eat the buffet at the other three resorts wish we could have tried the a la cart as well the pool was very clean and the staff were always sweeping and moping the floors most enjoyable relaxing family vacation

Starfish Varadero: Exactly what I needed!

Gorgeous white sand beach, clean and comfortable room, perfect! The weather was beautiful. Lovely customer service, very friendly. Extremely pleased with my beautiful choice of vacation. A1 memories!!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good enough

The place was clean, quiet. The food was bland but OK. The drinks were hit and miss and really didn't like the miniature plastic glasses. (Smart travelers took insulated mugs of a decent size -- I will be smart next time) Rooms were clean and staff friendly. Snorkeling was so-so. The water was crystal clear but limited fish species. Didn't appreciate the beach chairs being put away at 4:30 but everything else was good enough. The a la carte restaurants were no real improvement on the buffet.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Worth for what you paid

This's the fourth time I'd been in Cuba but was the first time I visited to Holguin. I booked the room in the Villa section. It's away from the Main section. It took about 8 mins walk the the lobby, so it's a very quiet area. The room was very large I ever had before in other hotel in Cuba. The room was clean and everything was in good working order. The staff of the hotel were very friendly. The foods were one of the weak point. Most of the same foods every day, but I understand that most of the hotels in Cuba are the same. Anyway, there were lots of foods and should not go hungry if you are not picky. There's a very beautiful view along from the hotel. Nice to walk on the water front. The beach is a public beach but is a beautiful one with white sand and blue water.

Starfish Varadero: Everything goes down better with rum

The food was definitely the biggest downfall. We attended a wedding during our stay at another hotel and it proved that not all food is bad in cuba only if u stay at a 3 star. Another con was the Cubans that came to stay there. They were very rude and a fist fight almost broke out in the buffet over beef. During the week it was alot quieter and enjoyable. I found the staff surprisingly more friendly and willing to chat it up with guests as apposed to the higher end hotel I visited. I didn't feel obligated to tip all the time and still received good service from 95% of the staff. If your a princess and need to sit on a throne spend the money and stay elsewhere. If your like me and ditching work and kids for a week is a vacation in itself, endless amounts of rum makes anything a good time.

I don't have to many complaints but I am the type of person to take things as it is and make the best of it. check in: I had no problem. Out of all the times I went away I got to say this was the fastest and easiest check in with no problems. we even got our room earlier then said. Room: We had garden view standard. They have a filtered water station in the main lobby or you can get water for the bar or a big bottle for 1cuc in their store workers: They loved me and my friends. We never waited for anything and always go serviced fast at the bars. water, alcohol or our morning coffees. There was some workers that where lazy and took awhile to get water or any service in the buffet. buffets: it's cuba so don't expect high end food. Not a lot to choose from but gab what you like and you'll be fine. They had amazing omelettes and pizza. pool and beaches were amazing. Every hotel has pros and cons just go open minded. you are there to relax and have a good time off. Your hardly in the room anyways so size shouldn't matter. you know what kind of food you stomach can and can't handle so don't try every single thing. show respect to the workers and they give it right back

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Nice place

Bar tenders, wait staff, front desk, AMAZING! Management/security, HORRIBLE. very unhospitable & rude. I had a great time & food was good. Beach was amazing. But i did see and hear of Canadians being accused, treated unreasonable, kicked off the resort, kicked out of cuba. It was insane!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good value

We were there from April 17 to 24 and the weather was perfect. We stayed in an ocean view villa with a hammock at our door. Very relaxing. We enjoyed having breakfast at Bennie's and also enjoyed the coffee. We loved the wine cellar and were able to purchase good wine at a reasonable price. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a cheap get away.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Large resort

Hotel and rooms average for Cuba.grounds were ok.dining was average. Staff was friendly. Had an issue with original room, front desk rectified the problem. Recommend 3rd or 4th floor room at far end to avoid noise from bar area.

Starfish Varadero: Good value for the price we paid!

The resort was older and could use a lot of up grading! A lot of the resort was not even being used which was very sad! The food was on par with other resorts in Cuba other then the fact that there was no variety. We had the exact same menu for the duration of our stay. The staff at the resort were awesome!! That being said we would have no problem returning to this resort for the right price!

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Great entertainment staff and friendly service

If you are going for a high-quality hotel, this is not it. But if you are going for a great time in the sun, with your children, you will be blown away by the entertainment staff! They were fabulous and so attentive to the two 13 year old boys we were travelling with. They even had the boys up on the stage, dancing, night after night. Amazing! They not only entertained us at night but they also were our friends by the pool in the day. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Relaxing Resort

We have stayed at this resort 3 times. We choose to stay here for a variety of reasons. The number 1 reason is price, traveling as a family can become expensive but Club Amigo Guardalavaca is very reasonably priced. We also enjoy the beaches and the coral reef as the children enjoy snorkeling. The daily flea market is always a big hit with us. As well as the shops across the road from the resort. The food is reviewed by many we talked to as the best food in Cuba, we can be a very fussy family to feed but never went hungry while there. The wait staff and servers are very efficient and entertaining. We enjoy our trips and are looking forward to returning again soon.

We are a family of 2 children aged 8 and 10, their mother and grandmother. We loved the hotel. We enjoyed dinner at the themed dining rooms. While nothing is ever perfect, we found the staff very friendly and always attentive to our needs. The ocean beach was lovely clean and not terribly crowded. We had opportunity to meet local Cubans there which we enjoyed very much. There was programs for the children which they also enjoyed. This resort is so much fun due to the type of tourists that come. Would recommend highly. Don't judge on the price as the value is so good. Been going for 5 years and there is always so much to do and the Cubans are so friendly.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: best resort around and amzing staff

this trip was a last minute one but to this day has been the best I have ever had. the resort was absolutely beautiful, laid back and none of the pictures do it justice. the bar tenders were great. the staff and housekeeping were so friendly and helpful you never seemed to need anything. as for the entertainment staff what a amazing bunch of people, they went out of there way for people to have fun. This resort is huge! We stayed in the Tropical Hotel section which was great. Far enough from the lobby to not hear the crowd at night. Beautiful ocean view. Clean, well maintained room. Lots of excursions to choose from. Awesome swim-up bar. Made lots of new friends. GREAT STAFF! Cons: We found other tourists to be very rude at times. Carisol los Corales: not as good as it was

we were there 4 years ago but won't be going back.The food was not very good and the same thing every meal, no orange juice.The food was always cold.The resort is still nice and the rooms were good but many people, us included had items stolen from our balcony
