Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Excellent Vacation

We had one of the best vacations at this resort. It was very clean and the staff were excellent. The location is perfect. Close to everything. The food and drinks were very tasty. Staff were so professional right from the doorman, Omar to the maid. We will definitely return. They were always cleaning too. It was so much fun.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Beautiful Resort

We stayed at the Krystal Grand April 5th-12th, 2022 The resort is beautiful I loved the size of the hotel, the options of the pools, adult only, family pool and activity pool that was a infinity facing the ocean. The beach you could walk for miles and walk into town easily on the beach or a safe path. Workers were friendly but still understaffed, breakfast buffet had lots of options, lunch BBQ was great and 2 of the three restaurants were great. There was just a sky bar that had seating for about 10 people but if you don’t care about that you will enjoy it and I would recommend it for a nice place to stay, coffee bar was good. Not sure if the lack of entertainment was due to Covid but bringing something and somewhere to sit at night in lobby would be a great addition.

Canto Del Sol: Very clean resort

Spent a week at the resort, we were placed in the rear villa's which was a very short walk to the main resort. The pool by the villa's was quiet and had bar service all afternoon. We found all the pools, bar, restaurants and bathrooms always very clean. Rooms were nice but nothing fancy just a room. Food at the buffet was very limited with the same selection on both sides of the buffet line, there was no pasta station or really any fresh grill options. Only recommendation to the resort is to ad more option to the buffet, other then that great resort and great people.

Samba Vallarta: Not good

Well, we got food poisoning here-quite badly so that knocked 3 days of 7 as AWFUL....and I mean AWFUL. The pool is LOUD from noon to 1:30 AM (the pool restaurant acts as a disco at night). and this is all center of the hotel so it's loud. There is no swim up bar OR quiet (adult pool)....so the place is loud. It's old and VERY dark too. On the other side of the resort is a loud RIU pool so it's always loud. Fine if that's your thing. Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta: Awesome Resort!

Thanks to Nicole Deforest from Trip Central our trip was Perfect. From the time we booked till the time we got off the plane in Calgary. Everything went very smooth. This Hotel is one of our favorite's, you may pay a little more but its certainly worth it. When we checked in we were greeted with a glass of Champaign and a wash cloth. All the staff were required to wear face masks and they were continually whipping down and cleaning chairs, tables and even the pool. The food quality in all the restaurant's were 5 star and we really had difficulty deciding where to eat our next meal....lol... really! Yes we would recommend this Hotel and Yes we will be returning .....SOON!

Grand Park Royal Puerto Vallarta: A 3.5 star at 4.5 prices

While this hotel is situated on a lovely beach I cannot recommend staying there for a number of reasons, the first of which is no fault of the resort. The location and geography meant that the sun does not hit the beach until noon this time of year, and the pools even later. The rooms themselves are pleasant enough, but older and poorly maintained i.e. blocked shower drain, broken lampshades (with blood splatter), etc. Housekeeping seemed to come either too early (8:30 am) or too late in the day [... read more] (5:30 pm) and wasn't particularly thorough. The food at the lunch buffet was low quality and poorly prepared. The 3 a la carte restaurants were better, but the menu never changes. The resort is popular for weddings (3 in 11 days). The resort is relatively small so access was denied to portions of the beach and other facilities during these events (despite the fact you paid for access to the entire resort). It also means a lot of noise directly in front of the rooms for setup, the event and tear-down. It is also popular with families and there are lots of kids everywhere, including in both main pools (which are cold). This is despite the fact that there is a separate kid's pool. In short, don't do it - you can find better.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Wonderful resort

Hotel accomadations,food,entertainment were excellent.we would return again to this resort.the food was very diversified always a variety for everyone.the entertainment was very professional as the pool area always had something happening

Las Palmas by the Sea: friendly staff and many return visitors

this place is popular with canadians. very thankful that people are respectful of the covid mandates here .. masks are worn when you leave your room, walking around, in bars/restaurants when not seated at your table, and when not eating or drinking. if you can't maintain a distance from people, wear it. hand sanitizer is easy to find. the place is clean, well run, in a good location south of the marina, north of the malecon.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Loved it here!

One of the most authentic resorts I ever stayed in. B artender David was the best! People were welcoming and we had tons of fun. The only bad thing was I had 100$ and a debit card missing from my room. So be aware..watch your surroundings all the time. The location of the hotel was great and Cameron express next to the resort was amazingfor seafood!

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Lovely Mexico vacation!

We had a fabulous time enjoying the iberostar in the beautiful location of playa Mita. The live music and outside lunches were a treat! Our ocean front room was large, had everything we needed, a comfy bed and an amazing view of the long clean beach. The food was great everywhere, the drinks and wine were nice and served with pleasantries. The nightly entertainment was fun and entertaining. Samba Vallarta: Not bad

Amenities were pretty basic and the food wasn't great. Beach was excellent. Staff was very friendly. There weren't that many guests, so few line-ups. Check in was very fast. Lunch: there is only one restaurant open and it is not self serve. There was only one server so the line up was very long. Poor resource management. Our elderly parents with mobility problems requested a ground floor room and they would not accommodate that. Instead they were on a third floor room and had to negotiate sta [... read more]irs. We also asked for adjoining rooms with them because we had a toddler and they were helping us out. They did not accommodate that request either. Our room was on the north side of the hotel and every night we could hear the extremely loud disco from the Riu resort next door. This made it difficult to sleep.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Vacation at Dreams

Firstly; we weren’t to pleased to be harassed as soon as we arrived for a sales pitch to buy vacation plans. We go away to get away from all that. When we arrive, we just want to go to our rooms and change for the beach. The rooms were fine but showing signs of age. The hotel almost completely shut down the pool areas for a dinner later that day. Insane! Again, we want to relax by pool. There was nowhere to go. We paid all inclusive, but wine wasn’t included at some of the restaurants 😳Other than that; we enjoyed ourselves and found the staff to be good and the food good. Location is good (within walking distance of downtown).

Vamar Vallarta: Nice resort

Superior balcony room was very nice. Everything was clean and I could have had housekeeping every other day if I’d wanted. Downside was main buffet restaurant- food was never hot even if I was first person to arrive. Always a varied selection. There are 2 other restaurants but they had to be booked early in the morning- never was lucky to get a table, so not sure what food was like there. The beach cafe has nice pizzas made to order. Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Never ever ever again

I would never stay here again, nor suggest to a friend. The food was inedible, the music was loud and obnoxious, there was never enough loungers or spaces for everyone (people would get up at 7am to put a towel on a chair to save for the whole day), the drinks where watered down or always tasted like aspartame, and the room….. oh my goodness the room. Worst room I have ever seen. Everything was broken and dirty. Rooms never clean properly, king bed with a fitted sheet too small (and gross matt [... read more]ress under) if you had the hot water on then a loud noise and shaking occurred, had a coffee maker for the room but wasn’t able to get coffee for it (just remove this then) patio furniture was so dirty it stained a dress when I sat down on it. Also so far from town you were just trapped on this crappy resort. Only good thing was the people working. They were lovely and helpful. Not their fault their employer is running such a dump.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Amazing resort

We stayed on the Hacienda side of the resort which is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are large with very comfortable beds. Modern well appointed bathrooms. We ate in each of the alacarte restaurants and they were excellent. The Mexican night on the beach was outstanding. The buffets were extensive. Something for everyone one. The servers and bartenders were very outgoing and efficient. It was a pleasure to relax at this resort!

Riu Flamingos: Awesome place

I loved the food so much i was disappointed with the beach the water wasn't like cancun it was dark but beautiful the pool i think was so small they really inforce no smoking and mask weren't mandatory

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: great resort

This hotel has great service, all workers are very friendly, it is easy to book and pre book each day for all restaurant. the concierges are extremely on the ball. the ground are kept real clean.Free WIFI everywhere is absolutely great and free bar fridge and safe are great features.

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Exceptional Resort

The Friendly Vallarta was everything the name implies. All staff were more than willing to assist in all of my needs. The food, location and the size of the resort was much better than anticipated. A very private oasis but outside within walking distance to the stores and restaurants. I will defiantly go back. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Super clean hotel during Covid

Great small resort . Very clean. Friendly staff , good food. We paid more for the private restaurant and better room. Had a separate pool and a separate part on the beach. The restaurant was ok same menu for a week but enough choice just be aware that the service there is very slow and they are a bit unorganized! Did not do any of the restaurants where you had to make reservations. Grand Palladium Vallarta: Resort showing its cracks

Feeling like this resort is suffering from Covid cutbacks. The resort is nicely spread over a lot of area, with nice amenities available and a variety of restaurants and buffet to choose from. The beach was lovely. The resort only has three floors with 2-4 buildings and all open hallways. In the middle of the resort is a small and shocking 'zoo'. Time to do away with this. It was really appalling conditions. Rooms: Our first room - an oceanfront room- had an amazing view, but overlooked the ' [... read more]quiet pool'. This was the adult pool with the bar and thumping bass music until 12 am every night. Even with the doors closed and headphones / TV on, you could still hear the music for the entertainment of the 5 or so guests. The first room was also not thoroughly cleaned with traces of mold on the shower door. We changed our room the next day to another with less view but much quieter ( of course no discount was offered to change from an ocean front). The front desk attitude was not very accomodating - they couldn't see why I didn't want the noise disturbing us until 'only 12". The second room was much cleaner, and quieter. Food: Not a fan of buffets, esp. during Covid. YOu have to use their app or line up everyday at 9:30 am to book a restaurant if you didn't just want to walk into the buffet. The food at the buffet ranged from fine to good. Very clean and strict protocols in place for food handling safety. We tried most of the other restaurants and they were all good portions, fresh and good, although sometimes not overly hot. A highlight was the Mexican restaurant with a lovely patio overlooking the ocean. A server came tableside to create custom guacamole which was fun. Not all wines listed by the glass were available. One night on the way to dinner my son slipped and hurt his foot. So we had to return to our room to stay in and order room service as he couldn't walk. There is a $15 per person delivery fee for this. Incredible. Lunch was either the buffett a walk away from the beach and pool or there was a disappointing BBQ beachside that offered burgers and hotdogs daily, and a few times nacho chips and ceviche. So no variety, no added extras like fresh fruit, or a change in menu. A real lack of opportunity to improve the food offerings. No snacks provided beachside or at the pool - only the bar. Drinks- there was a real lack of healthy options. If you wanted a 'smoothie' it was the highly sweetened drink mix offered blended. Given the amazing amount of fresh fruit at the buffet - it would be nice if they could offer a better selection of healthier drinks, esp. since the resort is really marketed to families vs. singles. Beach - There was a real lack of loungers on the beach. Plenty of room for more - and of course there was no monitoring of those who tagged chairs with towels at 8 am not showing up until 11 am - so with limited chairs and many broken - it was very frustrating. There were some boogie boards, kayaks, and a catamaran, but they could offer some scheduled kayak outings etc. There were daily activities including some yoga, and pool fitness classes that were well attended, and nightly shows for the kids and adults. Staff; Very mixed. Some were lovely- the concierges and the bar staff, but front desk staff - not so much. The attitude I received when I complained about the noise was not understandable at all, and there was clearly free rooms as the resort was only 60%. Overall I would rate the resort closer to 3.5 stars. There is plenty of room for improvement and the grounds and rooms were relatively clean and not too out of date. It is clearly showing its age and perhaps need for more investment. Clearly Covid has had an understandable impact on them and i hope they recover soon and are able to put a little bit more back into the resort to have it really meet its potential.
