Most beautiful resort in Varadero, came here for second time, last time was in August 2024, very nice staff , nice upgraded rooms close to the beach,delicious food and drinks.My favorite is bistro Cafe as it's opened 24 hours serving tasty coffee or cappuccino with options for sandwiches and delicious pastries

Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Amazing hotel with great staff!

I have been told Cuba for 14 times and have made a point to always try a different hotel. After having visited Vila Gale Paredon in 2024, I was so impressed with its beauty, cleanliness, and beaches that I booked again for 2025. The hotel is about 2 years old so everything is new and in good working order. The rooms that look to the the pool also have a magnificent view of the ocean if you are on floor 2 and 3. There are 3 pools, 1 kiddie pool and an infinity pool that takes your breath away. Great way to end the day! The food is abundant and very tasty. The buffet has 9 hot trays at any given time with beef, chicken, pork, rice, fish, pasta, mussels, hot dogs, soup etc.. No one will starve! You also have the juice bar, pasta bar, grill, pancakes and eggs freshly prepared. Snack bar is open 24/7, at lunch time they make bbq at the beach with choice of fish, pork or chicken with rice, chips and cucumbers on the side. You can also have pizza made to your liking at one of the snack bars, it's to die for. The beaches are crystal clear. You can take a long walk passing the 3 hotels and continue walking as if you are on a stranded island. So peaceful almost like heaven on earth. It's just you and the birds gliding over the sea. Every morning the beach staff clear the sea grass that was brought in by the tide so the beach is nice and clean. Plenty of palapas, so no need to wake up at 6 am to reserve your seat. The entertainment is one area where it needs improvement but it is available from volleyball, pool activities, beach exercises etc. But it's all in the execution where I find it is weak. Plenty of bars all over the place. One thing for sure is not to forget to bring insect repellent with alot of deet. Because there are only 3 hotels on this island, there is a lot of vegetation so mosquitoes are plenty. There is a plane that sprays weekly and the staff spray daily but still you need the Off! This hotel is a definite place to try.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: It is haven on earth… amazing place.

This resort we would definitely recommend. It is peaceful, with amazing gardens, quiet, relaxing place. Beautiful beaches. Food is great , lots to choose from , good quality and no shortage. Amazing staff.. they treat you like a family but with respect . Rooms are clean, nice comfortable bed, beautiful swimming pool. We have been to this resort many times and we keep coming back . It is the top resort in Cuba . We highly recommend.

Sol Palmeras: Great Resort

Beautiful resort . The room was comfortable and clean. Food was very good and lots of variety. The grounds were well taken care of. Beach was excellent but didn’t care for the pool, no swim up bar. The Asian restaurant was great!

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

Public area, Dining Rooms, Restuarants area Excellent Grounds could take some upgrades. Wonderfuul pleasant staff all over the property. My one and only bad encounter was with the lady in the Money exchange booth, she was rude, aloft and very condescending. She has ablsolutely no customer Service qualities.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Have never been treated so poorly in my life

arrived at Melia Jardines Del Rey on Sept 1 st. When I arrived at Melia I was told I had three rooms in various names Gwendolen Schultz, Samantha Leigh , Elizabeth Schultz. They called me by my wrong name at all times while addressing me. The food was horrendous. Tony Tony the sun wing representative knew I was not happy with my vacation so he offered to send me to Tryp for the remaining vacation. Samantha left Sept 8. When Sam was checked out they had deactivated my room key and told me to retu [... read more]rn both towels. I informed them I had one week still remaining addressing me as Elizabeth once again. They also wanted me to charge me for Samantha having a late check out of the room I held for the two weeks. I was staying inside for two weeks and she was in my room. They were ignorant and very disrespectful to me at all times. I requested to speak to the general manager I was taken in an office with 3 managers and again addressed by my wrong name repeatedly. I was very agitated and felt very attack. I stated again my name was not Elizabeth and I would be addressed by the proper name. I told them I would like to moved to my normal resort. I was threatened they wanted me to sign a waiver saying I would not complain about the service or the food on trip advisor. I refused to sign anything. Security was called. I again stated I wanted to be moved to my resort due to the threat. The wrong name being addressed by and the food. I was starving all week the buffet was closed most days no food in snack bars. They told me they would have to call Tryp to see if they would allow me to come to the resort. Tryp was already notified by Tony Tony. They were waiting for me to arrive. I was talking to friends I had met and I was told not to be talking to other guests. Twice approached by the management calling me by Elizabeth. I stated that that I had to wait for the next bus to arrive to take me to Tryp I would be leaving to Tryp. Ten minutes later I was told all arrangements were made I would be moving to Tryp on Sept 9. On Sept 9th I was waiting for my bus and I was surrounded by 4 security guards and was addressed by Elizabeth once again and I was told to leave and the security guard was told to remove my band. I was intimated bullied harassed and asked to sign this waver again. I waited for my bus out side the resort. I had no access to water or food for over 3 hours. I was not allowed on the premises. I arrived at Tryp with open arms. Tryp Cayo as amazing amazing staff amazing food. I am requesting a refund for both myself and Samantha. Also have spoken to the head of Melia and he wants me to email him with this complaint as well. Which I will be doing. I felt very unsafe. I am also requesting compensation for my loss of wages, due to plane on Sept 15 being cancelled. Also claiming for the loss of money due to having to take a cab to Tryp and my suffering. Lose of money due to my dog being in a boarding kennel , no food provided at airport due to stores being closed. I would not recommend Melia Jardines Del Rey to anyone. Thank you

Playa Luxury Cayo Guillermo: Amazing beach and great service

The resort is located at playa pillar a spectacular beach with white sand and pristine turquoise water. Beautiful resorts great service and great food - lovely people and amazing drinks - the cigar lounge and the Spanish coffee experience is a must

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Lack of Resources

The hotel didn’t have Pina colada, not many alcohol/drink options, not many food options, rooms are old and AC, safe is not working, and lots of mosquitos in early September season. Beautiful beach regardless but I will not return again.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Perfect Beach

Worst food we ever had in Cuba very salty and hot food were cold. Our 5th time in Cuba and 1st 5 star resort we stayed as recommended but it was the worst experience we had. Some staff were miserable & rude. The only best thing at this Resort is the Beach.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Never again

Been there 12 years ago, same off season. After a very tired journey reached the room at 9.30 pm. First two days no air condition and no hot water service in the room The night we checked in no drinking water or any drinking water in the room. To call the reception, do not know the extension number for the reception. Bus boy told when he leaves, he will bring a water bottle or notify to the person who brings it. Not been told that there is no Air condition when we checking in, next morning when I went the reception only been told there is countrywide power outage at that time. Mosquitoes are everywhere. Lots of mosquitoes inside the room too. Without AC, with outside temperature of 31C, with mosquito inside the room, itchy bed linen, think that night would be. Food is very limited, same food everyday, the eating area infested with lots of mosquitos. Only commendable thing is nice staffs, and superb beach. Chose this resort for 5 star rating, but so disappointed. Never again

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Much better than Expected.

Pros: This hotel is one of the newest in the Varadero strip, the food was enough, and the choices was more that you get at other hotels in the area, the hospitality in the buffet area was amazing. There was a separate customer service person to help you with your needs are the resort, therefore you did not need to go to the front desk and wait in lines. The room was decent, minor problems, but quickly addressed. The beach was nice, small rocks and a bit rough but good to pass the time.  [... read more] Cons: Tipping is crazy at this place! *The beach attendants did not clean the sand nor the beach chairs for guest but always asking for money. *The specialized restaurants was the worst place to book if you wanted to get food in a normal timely manner ( 35 minutes just to take the order). After 2 hours you can leave half full and run to the buffet before it closes. * If you are new to the resort, please turn on your TV, because neither the front desk nor the air canada rep tells you were any thing is located, apparently if you turn on your Tv you'll see some information. * I'm not sure why some guests get welcome drinks at check in and Canadians did not get welcome drinks. * Let not forget birthdays, 2 days before the birthday, the hotel was informed, they said the different options they offered, we picked 1 and was told they would deliver on the date of the birthday. Because they forget, we were told two day later, right before check out, they only deliver after someone's birthday. Now I write this because this was my experience, please go and draw your own conclusions.

Grand Memories Holguin: Grand Memories Holguin

Grand Memories is a beautiful new hotel (less than 5 years old). It is beautifully maintained and the rooms are very comfortable, clean and modern. The beach, pools and hotel are exceptional. The food is good for Cuba/ they have added pizza ovens and several more hot stations. Our butler Orlando was polite, professional and on top of his guests needs/requests. (discos should be on the resort). They close the game room and games bar at 10pm!!! We had to finish up our game as they were closing the doors - a games bar! The hotel would also benefit from some type of music (local talent) in the lobby while people are having drinks. if the entertainment was stepped up this would be the number one place in Holguin!

the resort itself was nice friendly staff good food and drinks but need shad around the pools as there is none and by the bites restaurant there is a slippery spot that they need to fix ..my last day was going to the restaurant and i slipped on the walk way landed on my back and bruised back of my head badly ..they need to either put signs up u need to wear shoes here or repave with concrete ..i am still having headaches. Valentin Cayo Cruz: Great vacation

The hotel is beautiful well distributed, the restaurant a la carte are nicely decorated, the service was very good and professional, and Jonathan servicio al client make our vacaciones very comfortable, I will recommend this hotel, great experience

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Roach hotel

This resort was infested with roaches They were in restaurants , rooms , lobby , in premium longe, on bart tops If someone says they did not see them they are either blind or lying !! I have been going to cuba for over 15 years and have NEVER seen this before .

Blau Varadero: Ok resort but won’t return

We arrived in the evening Check in went smooth Was able to grab late supper at buffet.,before it closed. The elevators are horrible, you have to wait and wait they only hold 7 ppl at a time and no ventilation, so very hot. Room was very nice withi lots of space. . Wonderful view. Our room was kept clean every day. We had the select room with the benefit of the select breakfast in a special area in the buffet restaurant where they wait on you and serve you breakfast from a small menu..  [... read more]We waited and waited for someone to come and start with some water. No body came, so we grabbed our own breakfast from the buffet. Then we were served coffee and water. Next day we sat and waited to be served. Again It took awhile before anyone came to greet us, with the menu to get started. They look straight at us and still no service. They need to get organized.. We should have had better service. It took the four of us at least a hour and a half to start and finish breakfast. We were left waiting way too long. It was as if they wanted us to go get our own food. This is what we paid for. We tried it a couple more times and same thing every time. We were not impressed. The ppl working in the buffet are very friendly and pleasant but not organized. We even sat in a different part of the buffet and we had better service! The pool was not even vacuumed while we were there. Lots of sand on the bottom. The lobby bar in the evening was horrible! We waited in line of 20 minutes to get a drink. They need to hire more bartenders and servers. So we ended up going to the select bar. Finally the best place to be. Great service great drinks, air conditioning and light snacks. Don’t know there names but the bartender and waitress was the best.❤️ The lunch buffet was always very busy. So we always went to the burger shack for lunch. Got sick of that. The resort was full to capacity which make it worse. Ppl were like vultures, taking all the cheese and ham slices on the tray and waiting for them to bring out more. Ppl don’t care anymore it all about themselves. Would I go back NO Also ppl would reserve the lounge chairs around the pool and would come later. We had a hard time finding 4 chairs together! Overall this place was ok but we will not return. This was our 5th time to Cuba, so we know what to expect. The ppl of Cuba are wonderful ❤️
