We booked a mayan suite at the Grand Palladium Kantenah for a week just before Christmas 2016. Our room was gorgeous with a cathedral ceiling with a fan, a very comfortable king bed, and a sitting area with a sofa chair and table. The bathroom was huge with a whirlpool tub and private outdoor mayan shower. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The best part was that it was right on the beach and had a covered balcony with chairs a table and a hammock. It also had free basic wifi. I woul[... read more]d happily return here and book this category of room again.
When you stay at the Kantenah you get to use the facilities of 3 other Palladium resorts at the same location - it's huge with many pools, restaurants and bars plus two theatres. The beach is long with lots of huts and the main pools have many rows of huts around them. We never had issues with getting lounges and shade at either the beach or the pools which was a refreshing change from some of the other resorts we've been to.
We had dinners at at the Thai restaurant, La Lola (tapas), La Adelita (Mexican) and Portofino (Italian) - all very good. The other nights we went to either Tikal or La Hacienda because they were closer to our room and the nearest theatre. The selection and quality of the buffet food was excellent as was the service.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Amazing Resort
This resort was beautiful. It was huge and very lush with alot of natural tropical landscape. Lots of wild life on the resort especially iguanas and agouti and coati. It was a very clean resort. Room were very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. There is alot of walking but I loved that. There were shuttles available but there is still alot of walking. The beach was beautiful with a great swimming area with sand bottom and crystal clear waters. Pools were beautiful with several to choose fro[... read more]m. Food was good with alot of seafood. (not lobster though) The staff were very friendly with great customer service. My only negative is that the evening entertainment shows were not anything special so we did not go. Might be geared more to kids. I would like to see more of the culture, Also, they did not play enough Mexican or spanish music at that resort or at the lounges. Overall we are very pleased with this resort.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Wonderful Resort
Everything was great! We were a party of 12 and everyone had a great time! The staff are very, very friendly; accommodations were the best; food was good - especially the steak at the Bubba restaurant; pool is fabulous and the beach is beautiful - even had some snorkelling off the beach at the far end of the resort. I can't wait to come again!

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Amazing location
Loved the setting & surroundings from the first day on. With a few disappointments the first day, the food just got amazing afterwords. The people were amazing, the friendliness of the Mexican people was just great. :)
The ocean was sometimes a little "rough", but just so amazingly beautiful.
Our Favorit was the beach and the ocean, that's why you go there... ;)

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Needs some work
This was our first time to jamacia and second time to stay at a palladium resort and we were pretty disappointed. The country itself was absolutely beautiful, as was the resort. It was very large and both the beach and the pool were great. We upgraded to an ocean view room which was totally worth it. The rooms were a little outdated. The maid service was inconsistent. We would only receive towels sometimes, other days they would come restock the fridge but not make the bed ext. the walls could u[... read more]se some new paint and the furniture was old and musty. The whole resort could actually use some updating to be honest. We were quite supprised with how the staff made you feel like you were an inconvience. The shuttles rarely came, you would wait an hour or more for dinner even with a reservation. If you didn't tip the bartenders before they took your order you would wait forever for a drink. There was no entertainment around the pool which is odd because most other resorts we've gone to the pool was always the loudest most fun spot to be. The Buffett had the same foods every night and definitely had a cockroach infestation. They would be running all around the counter tops. When I mentioned this to the manager he said we are aware we're taking care of it and walked away. I think with a little attention to detail and maybe a overhaul of the staff this place could be really great.

Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: Lovely resort but issues with the room
There were many things about this resort that were great. The food was amazing with so many great choices of restaurants - this was without a doubt the best part of the resort. The beach itself was lovely, but we were unable to swim in the ocean because it was just too rocky and waves too high. However, the resort did offer a salt-water pool that was fed by the ocean which was great and a very large pool. The staff was absolutely lovely - very friendly and helpful. The resort is HUGE - basi[... read more]cally four resorts in one. It was a little bigger than we like, however, they did have several options for getting around - water taxi, pick -up vans or walking to get to where we wanted to go which allowed us to see all the local critters - fun. The location was very good and allowed us to see a lot of local sights - ruins, snorkelling with turtles etc. Unfortunately, our room left a lot to be desired. There was a lot of black mould in the room - it was all over the pull-out couch (which we needed) and on the cushions. The smell was very bad and there was concern about it spreading to our clothes. I washed EVERYTHING when we got home. Also, it was very noisy - we had to call security on two nights.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Great Resort
Resort is large but still has a personal feel. Lots of variety in the food choices - we went to 6 a la carte restaurants and each was good. Would recommend reservations for the more popular Brazil and Japanese spots (do this on day one). We enjoyed the activities (pool aerobics and exercise bikes in the pool). Word of caution on the beach activities, staff are very enthusiastic and want you to write a review then and there. One actually "helped" and took our phone and deleted what we wrote [... read more]and made their own review (in Spanish no less so we couldn't even read it). Beach is fantastic. Ample chairs and lots of shade to move in and out of at will. We had a bit of a issue at check in. Our room was musty and we requested a new one. Our bell boy abandoned us and we had to cart our luggage all the way back to the lobby to start over. Was disappointed with that piece of the service. But all other servers were very friendly and helpful.

Grand Palladium Palace: Wonderful trip
Our family had an amazing time at this resort. The resort is beautiful with lots of great restaurants and food. There are many pools and they didn't ever seem overcrowded no matter what time we showed up.
As a family, we were looking forward to the children's club, however, we were quite disappointed. We had a hard time finding information on children's activities and really any kid's club information in general.
The resort did have some activities going on for adults as well but again, [... read more]they weren't well publicized (sometimes posters would be up at different locations but not for all activities) so we would just happen to come across them at different times and locations throughout the resort.
Overall, a fantastic stay with lots of positives.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Family vacation
We had a great family vacation at this resort. We loved how geared to kids it was, and the kids loved the hotdog cart and popsicles by the pool! The salt water pool was nice for us although it was far from all the bars and food so we had to pack everything up that comes with two toddlers for meals. Staff were friendly and resort was well kept. Our stroller did not fit through our room door which was a hassle, coffee is no easily accessible if you are an early riser. Unless you like machine coffe[... read more]e ( like you'd find in a hospital ) other than that you have to wait for the buffet at 7. Bar service was exceptionally slow even more so if you didn't tip. I often found myself waiting at the bar 15-20 min before getting to order and that was with pesos visibly in hand. Balconys are small especially 3rd floor ones. My inlaws were on the third floor and their balcony had one chair. And it hardly fit. Food was good, the buffet repeated itself nightly. In order to reserve alacartes they tell you to use the app which didn't work. So we'd wait in line to get a table. The small zoo was great entertainment for the kids as well as the splash park with pools ! Overall a great holiday as it is what you make it :)

Grand Palladium Palace: Great Trip with some exceptions
I will rate the following based on our experience at Palladium Palace;
Food, Facility, Entertainment, Room and Sevice … then Overall.
Food - 7/10
We found the Buffets fairly good with variety and quality. The a la carte restaurants were a bit of hit and miss; Very good – Mexican, Japanese (Show Grill), Average – Italian, Poor - Steak House.
Mexican – Good menu and atmosphere, supply good quality and plentiful food. Service was the best at this restaurant.
Japanese – Good Show at[... read more] the Grill (Hector), very engaging and entertaining as well the food was good.
Italian – Food was average (self serve apps and pizza were good), pasta was a bit over cooked. Atmosphere was dark and service was standard nothing special.
Steak House – There really nothing good to say … the self serve apps had Caesar salad just soaking in dressing, onion soup was a bit on the salty side and steaks were thin and dry. Service had a hard time getting the order correct, just a poor experience.
Facility – 8/10
This is what I would consider a Super Resort – 4 resorts in one big complex, even so I have to admit the grounds were well maintained, pools were cleaned regularly and shuttles to move around the resort were abundant (really necessary). You can walk, but going from RST to the Sports Bar would be a hike.
Entertainment – 6/10
The animation team was fairly inconsistent, some good/bad. Many times when an activity was scheduled (beach volleyball) you would have to chase them down to get a ball as no staff were at the beach. In the evenings, each resort within the complex would have music, but to see the shows you would need to do some walking/travelling to another area in the complex.
Room – 8/10
We had a renovated Loft at the Palace, overall the room was nice the only knock was the funky design of the shower/tub and the dresser drawers in the closet need TLC.
Service – 8/10
Found that tipping really went a long way to getting sustained or good service. Ie room/mini bar/buffet/bars/a la carte.
Other – 2/10
In my opinion, there’s just way too much selling going on. You should have the right to a peaceful vacation (that’s what you paid for !!). Whether at the lobby, walkways, pool or beach we were constantly being solicited for Travel Club, Excursions, Spa or goods vendors. This wasn’t unique to the Palace as all resorts in the complex had the same atmosphere. For us, it got to the point that we avoided certain areas either by walking around the lobby or just not taking routes that made us pass the vendor tables. I know the Palladium probably sees this as a cash flow, but while it didn’t ruin our vacation it certainly contributed negatively.
They post no reservations required at the a la carte restaurants, but with the proliferation of the Palladium App (Chat) this is no longer the case, we made 5 reservations on our 1 week vacation. I would recommend everyone take advantage of the system while you can, from our perspective it was just pandemonium at some a la carte restaurants (Japanese).
Lastly, the sheer size of the resort and number of vacationers. While would had a good experience and would recommend Palladium Palace, it’s not for everyone. At least not if you’re looking for a more intimate atmosphere.
Overall 7/10
Cheers

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Amazing trip!
We stayed at this resort January 11-18th and loved it! The staff was amazing, the resort itself was very clean. Our favourite restaurant was by far the Japanese. Book the show table.. by far the best! Room was very big and had an amazing view of the ocean. The only complaint would be the shower that leaked every time so we would end up with a huge puddle in the bathroom and occassionally would smell like sewage... we found if we kept the air conditioning running it would get rid of the smell[... read more]. The pool area was very big and the resort was not busy at all, we never had to wait for anything. The beach areas were very nice... nice sand and the staff was on top of keeping it cleaned of seaweed. Snorkeling off the beach was amazing.. you just had to swim out a bit. Would definitely recommend this resort and would love to go back again some time!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Good Resort
We thought the resort was good and we would recommend it. The food was average and the language barrier was the worse we have had then in the past at other resorts in Mexico. The Kantenah and Colonial sections were the best for our family. The beach was very rocky except for a small patch near the Kantenah which worked out great for us. The water park was great and loved how it was right beside the pool so we didn't have to hangout at the water park the whole time. We could be all doing our [... read more]own thing at the pool area but keeping an eye on everyone too. Did not like how we could only get our kids hair braided at the spa. It was a huge rip off and the people you have to buy from are not the most friendly. It felt like more a scam then an enjoyable experience like the last two years in Mexico. Very long check in process and not the most friendly when you needed help or questions answered at the front desk. Room was great and very spacious. All in all we would recommend this hotel the pros outweighed the cons.

Grand Palladium Palace: Beautiful Resort with an Unexpected Surprise
After 3 stops to drop off guests at other hotels we arrived at the Grand Palladium Complex. It is a huge complex with separate lobby areas for each of the 4 resorts within it. We were dropped at the Palace Lobby ( so we thought) It turned out we were at the Royal Suites Turquesa Lobby. We were offered hot towels and champagne while we began our check in. They discovered there was a mix up and we were at the wrong hotel and were being sent over to the Palace Lobby. They gathered us up and t[... read more]ransferred us over. Once there we were informed that they were upgrading us no charge back to the Royal Suites Turquesa! So my review is of this hotel. Food was amazing, grounds impeccable. The whole length of the complex beach is just beautiful. We did have some lunches at the Palace. We also loved the live nightly entertainment at both the Palace and Royal lobbies. Our room was spacious and maid service was great. We used the room service which was awesome and the servings, well a bit too much but you were never hungry. We tried some of the a la cartes and they were great. Would highly recommend this hotel. We also used the Spa! OMG its amazing and the massage ladies are incredible. Make sure to take advantage of the water areas of the spa. Drinks were all good, top shelf available if you asked for it! I can't think of one thing to complain of...

Grand Palladium Palace: Family Vacation January 2017
This resort is beautiful! It is kept very nice. Here is the summary of experience:
Check in: Amazing - we arrived at 3:30, rooms were ready, and we had our keys and were to our rooms within 20 minutes of arriving. There was a small issue with one of our rooms (requested double beds in one room, and got a king), but it was rectified very quickly, and a new room was assigned immediately that met with our approval.
Our rooms were in 95 block which we found conveniently located. We had a loft sui[... read more]tes, and they were very nice rooms.. as we only had 2 people in each of our rooms, the loft was not really used. The Bathroom shower/tub is not well designed, as mentioned in other reviews.. Water gets everywhere, and we needed extra towels to clean up the water... but it did look really nice, and the water pressure was awesome. Mini bar was stocked daily :) We found the bed very comfy!
Food was good, the specialty Japanese and Brazilian were AMAZING!! Unfortunately, we did not get to many of the restaurants.. but the buffet was definitely a good alternative. There was a very good selection of food!
Pools were beautiful, and lots of seats.. couple days got busy, but we always managed..
The resort was HUGE.. It really is 3 in 1.. (Grand Palladium Bavaro, GP Punta Cana, and GP Palace, can all share facilities, and then there is Royal Suites Turquesa, also, but GP guests do not have privilege there.. So, if you are at the Palace, and want to go to the Disco or Sports bar, or go see a variety show at the theater, it's a trolley ride to Bavaro..
I would have preferred if the resorts were "self sufficient", and if you didn't want to leave your corner of the world, you didn't have to.
The sales people can get on your nerves, but after a couple times of saying no, it stopped.
Overall, It's a beautiful place to go for vacation!

Grand Palladium Palace: grand palladuim palace/ Royal
apon arrival we were let off at that wrong hotel, (the royal) we had herd that someone we knew was upgraded to there and hoped they would let us stay, but they sent us back to the palladium but when we got there they sent us back to the royal . Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Organized, clean, and plenty of assistance on the resort and great food
The room was called: Mayan Suite Imperial Club. It was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing to watch the fish swim to our balcony every morning. I highly recommend this room for couples. There was lots of room, it was clean, close to the pool, beach, restaurants and lobby. The buffet was excellent; lot of choices for adults and children. The restaurants were clean and had very good choices. I recommend during peak seasons to book reservations for a la carte restaurants to ensure a table, which[... read more] I have done. This worked well over the Christmas and New Year holidays. The entertainment was speculator for the family shows and another one for the adults; it was great to have two shows.
The beaches were clean and beautiful to swim in for everyone. The activities on the beaches were exciting: live bands, buffets, and much more. Please try the resort, it's been a worthwhile experience, since I have been to Mexico many times.
The agent was very helpful and detailed in deciding the resort that suit our concerns: a variety of a la carte restaurants with great food and service and buffets and swimmable and clean beaches...she highly recommend this resort.
