Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Memories Trinidad Del Mar on Playa Ancon

This hotel is situated on a very lengthy stretch of sandy beach, much of which is still undeveloped and bordered only with tropical vegetation. The beach is well suited to swimming and long walks. The hotel grounds are attractive, with palm trees and pretty gardens. A tower beside the restaurant offers panoramic views of the Ancon Peninsula and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The city of Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is accessible by means of a double-decker tourist bus that travels between the hotel and the city four times daily. The bus journey takes approximately 30 min and a return ticket costs $5 EUR. Trinidad offers colourful colonial architecture, cobbled streets traversed by vintage cars and horse-drawn carts and wagons, a variety of small museums, artisans' shops, and street entertainers. The Sierra Escambray mountains are visible from the Memories Trinidad Del Mar resort and hiking tours can be arranged to explore the national park and waterfalls. The Memories Trinidad Del Mar resort would suit a traveller who wants to combine beach activities in a peaceful setting with nearby historical and cultural attractions and nature appreciation.

Memories Jibacoa: Memories Jibacoa vacation

Amazing place for snorkelling from beach. Definitely will come again. Nice small resort for adults who don’t enjoy big crowds. Nice and clean. Only negative would be limited offer of drinks - no mojito or pina colada.

Memories Cayo Largo: Good resort!

The hotel has nice grounds, good rooms and decent food. My room didn't have hot water, but my friend's room was fine, so I guess it depends where you stay. I liked the entertainment in the evening, although a nice addition would be a schedule of the shows for each day of the week and schedule of the activities by the pool. The beach is very good, and I liked that in windy weather I could escape to the Playa Sirena.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great Time But Will Not Return To This Resort

Coordinated a Girl's Trip and stayed at Grand Memories for the week of November 26, 2022. We enjoyed our stay and made the best of some of the limitations at this resort. The beach was beautiful as expected and the staff was lovely and accommodating. There was a lot of walking as we were situated at block 15 but nonetheless, we were next door to a nice pool and a great bar where the drinks were on point. Some things that I did not like...... it is a given to tip your maid and write notes [... read more] to ensure you get everything you need in your room like multiple waters, towels, and toilet paper. If you're coming to Cuba, pack a towel and a couple of rolls of toilet paper. If you like premium alcohol, buy it at duty-free and bring it along. They did not have tequila and vodka was very limited. Wine on the resort was very limited as well. The only place that I could get a glass was at the a la carte restaurants. Otherwise, you need to travel to a liquor store on the strip and buy a couple of bottles for your room. The food was okay but the variety was very limited. Some days there were no eggs but there was bacon. If I came back an hour later, there would be eggs but no bacon. They picked and choose when they would serve items that you expected to be at the buffet. Some days I just ate fish and vegetables. The entertainment was good. The majority of the time we stayed in the lobby and mingled with other guests in the evening. All in all, we met a lot of great fellow Canadians at the resort and had a lovely time. I would definitely come back to Varadero but would probably stay somewhere else.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Great customer service and nice hotel grounds

We just got back from our trip to Memories Trinidad Del Mar. Three years ago, we visited this hotel before Covid. At the time, there were very few customers there, however, this hotel becomes a very popular resort and there are lots of customers this time. Despite the increase in volume of customers, there are no shortage of foods. We would recommend other customers to try out their soup and shrimps which are so fresh and tasty. We are also very with the abundance of papaya which is our most fav [... read more]ourite fruit. The waiters and waitresses at the dining room are all very nice and are out to please the customers. To name a few, Jelani, Reinier etc. (my spelling may be wrong), they are all eager to serve you with whatever you need. One particular person that makes our trip most memorable and enjoyable is Gabriel at the reception/front desk. We had never seen such a hardworking and pleasant person in a resort who will relentlessly assist the customers in solving all kinds of issues. Although his official hour is 8-5 but at times he would stay until 11:00 pm as he wanted to ensure that the problems are all resolved in a fast and efficient way before he goes home. We would like to commend him to his supervisors/managers for his superb customer service.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Super friendly staff and wonderful service

Lovely grounds, great pool and close to the beach. Will be returning to Grand Memories the Sanctuary again in the future! We went for our honeymoon and the staff helped make it so special for us. We will never forget them.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: It was OK

My boyfriend and I went to Cayo Santa Maria for our first time. We have been to Varadero in the past but before COVID/before the shortage. The beach and ocean was absolutely stunning and probably the most beautiful I have seen so far. The staff were so so friendly and probably why we didn't mind the trip as they are so kind, and so happy and appreciative of every little thing, even if you just chat with them.The resort was dated, however it was still fine. The rooms were OK, of course if you loo [... read more]ked closely you can see things rusting, etc, but we chose to ignore that as we hardly stayed in the room (except to sleep). We stayed at the adults section of Grand Memories, however if you are looking for entertainment at the Sanctuary, there are next to none. We would walk 5-10 minutes or take a cart to the Grand Memories to attend the nightly shows at 9:30pm, which were just ok as well. Some nights they had good shows, other nights it seemed like they just made things up on the go. Most of the time, we would just drink in the bars and talk with other couples we met. The entertainment during the day was OK, they had games at the pool with the entertainment team. We were told this resort is the "liveliest" of all Cayo Santa Maria resorts, but for us it wasn't enough. That's on us, now we know it's more of a quiet/relaxing place. As for food, the food was OK. I am already aware that Cuba food in comparison to other places isn't the best, but we made the best of it. The Sanctuary only has a buffet for meals. We learned that when you book dinners it is at the Grand Memories, which can be super confusing to navigate so we ask for a cart to take us to said restaurant. The shortage is really apparent here in their food and drinks, which of course is not the workers' fault whatsoever. Our butler would schedule us for certain restaurants but the food is all essentially the same thing with maybe a slight change to a menu. Sometimes they run out of things on random days. A turn off for us was when they could not provide daily water bottles in our room fridge. Supposedly, the fridge is supposed to be stocked but there was no room service for ordering things, and only one giant water bottle per day. Some days, when we asked for water, they said they had none left and could only provide water in little cups. This is an issue as we can't drink Cuban tap water and because of alcohol consumption, you would think we would need more water bottles in the room. There were also times they ran out of beer at around 1am-ish. Again, we are aware of the shortage and how COVID affected their tourist industry. The excursion was so much fun and very beautiful. While snorkeling we did actually see coral reefs., and fish, and even a stingray! I recommend their catamaran cruise (99 USD), which includes the catamaran, snorkeling, a dolphin show and interaction, lobster lunch (delicious!) and relaxing on a beach before returning to the resort. We spoke with other tourists who had been to Sanctuary prior to COVID and they said it was amazing and nothing like it was when we were there. I hope to return when it goes back to its former glory as we didn't mind it, but would not return with their current shortage. Would I recommend this to my friend group? No, because I know what they like and this wouldn't be for them. But it might work for individuals who don't mind little entertainment.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice place

Pleasant resort, we had a nice time. Beach is excellent , food was above average most of the time,actually surprisingly good. Room was ok, air conditioning running well, just the bed a little uncomfortable. Nice gardens, well maintained resort. We spent a nice vacation here. As anything in life, had some 2 star moments, but overall, the 4 star is well deserved in my opinion.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Beautiful Resort

We totally enjoyed our stay at Memories Trinidad Hotel. Staff were helpful even if you can't speak Spanish. Rooms were spotless, and effectively cleaned everyday. Plenty of bars, coffee bars and after hour snack bars available. Grounds were updated and well maintained..and well lite at nite. Dining was always a pleasure, greeted with lots of smiles. All staff wore masks, and every station for there was an attendant that served the food you requested onto your plate. (not everyon [... read more]e handling the spoons or touching the food yourself) waiters and waitress were there to bring whatever you requested. Excellent service..and tips are always welcomed. They preferred Canadian or Euros, and any small donation was always appreciated. Except coins. They are hard workers, and dedicated to please all who were visitors to their country. They have a few pools, hot tub, spas..and a beautiful beach with chairs and towels provided, and a bar cabana steps away. What else can you ask for beach, blue skies and beer. Now that's a vacation. They also have taxi and busses that go into town, Trinidad an old cobblestone city over 500 years old. Something to see only 12 klm away. We loved it there, and have no reservation to go back again in the new year...loved it.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Good Resort

This is a good resort at the price point. The beach was excellent, approximately 2 to 3 klm long, beige sand and mostly empty. The staff were friendly and service was generally good. Staff with Hola Tours and Sunwing were always on site and would assist you regardless of which company you booked with. Everything I required was available at the resort. With tourism re-opening the resort was spending a lot of time and effort to update the resort, but no construction noise. The food was acceptable. I see many reviews that are critical of the food in Cuba. The food is not as good as it is in Europe or some higher priced beach destinations, but at this price point the food was acceptable. The one critical item I have is the bus ride from Santa Clara airport, almost 3 hours avoiding lots of potholes and lots of slower traffic. This to travel about 115 klm. Hopefully once the other resorts re-open and the new resort is completed there will be sufficient volume to warrant a flight into Cienfuegos or better yet Trinidad (needs a runway about 1,000 ft longer).

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful beach

The food has really improved since I was in Cuba last. The staff are either super friendly or super grumpy. Our room attendant was amazing thank you Yetty. There were a lot of shortages including toilet paper and alcohol that wasn’t rum. I had a wonderful massage at a very good rate. The beach was stunning with a nice beach bar where you could actually get something other than rum. One major complaint was they fogged our room for the cockroaches with a gas powered machine. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Best beach ever

I really liked the resort, staff and accommodations, but the beach was the best, allowing long walks both sides of the resort... People are usually complaining about the food in Cuba, not here, I only went to the buffet, no need to book reservations for a la carte restaurants... Entertainment was great, adjusted to the tourists' requests... My room was nice and clean, didn't spend much time there, only to sleep and shower... Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Awsone resort

Everything and everyone was very nice accomidatng. I have zero complaints. Will return agai everything was clean.. staff were wonderful.. Food was good. If your expecting gourmet food you won't get it.. it's cuba and there food is bought in... So if your going for the food don't. Lol I didn't starve the was lots to eat...

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Loved it!

I loved the Memories Flamenco, thank you Jean Arsenault for pointing me there! I have been to several hotels in Cuba, and this is the best! Staff were great and it is small, so it is not really far to get from your room to everything else. The ocean is protected, and the sand is so white! My room looked onto unspoiled mangroves and there were tons of birds. I plan to go back. One word of advice, don't cahnge your money. They appreciate canadian and american money.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Had a great time but

The rooms were not really up to par. They didn’t change our sheets all week and the first 2 days we had to wait for towels. When we got them it was the rest of the week we did not get any new ones. Under the bed was a water bottle there the whole week. I never seen anyone use disinfectant the whole time there and I caught a cold as well as 3 other people in our 10 person group. Food was repetitive and bland but pool and amenities were okay. People are very friendly and love Canadians.

Our stay at this resort was over all pretty good but they need improvement on their trip and fall hazards that were plentiful, especially the stairs to the beach one had no rails the other had broken stairs. Also, half the night time lights throughout the resort didn't work, I suggest taking a flashlight.The other big issue we had is that there was no air conditioning in the main buffet , eating in 27 degree temperature is not enjoyable when you have been in the heat all day. Grand Memories Cayo Largo: Memories Cayo Largo

We stayed for 2 weeks at Memories Cayo Largo 11 - 25 Nov 2022. It has had many upgrades, new walkways, signage, tables & chairs, pool liner, wi fi through out the resort. The biggest bonus was the food. It was top notch! I had prime rib twice and every night the selection was awesome. The beach comes and goes, that's a fact. The first week was calm with lots of beach. The second week was windy so the beach was gone. I'm sure it's back by now. I was disappointed that they are turning the mini dis [... read more]co into a Steak House, so now you're forced to sit at the 24hr bar that has very limited seating and is right beside the loud theatre. There are many more upgrades that can be done and David the Manager said it is a work in progress. Our next trip is 24 Feb 2023, so we'll see what improvements have been made then.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Nice resort

We had been there for a week, resort is clean, staff is friendly, food is cuban. For sure the best parts of resort are beach, sun, and ocean. They are beautiful. Snorkeling is 20$ for 1 hour trip to riffs or you can see a lot of fish along the shore. Visitors are from all over the world come and go every day. Trip to Trinidad is not for everyone, impression is sad. I would recommend enjoying the vacation at resort. Keep in mind, that the road from Santa Clara airport to hotel takes 2.5-3 hours.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Beach

Let me begin by saying that we had a fantastic week at this beautiful resort. Our goal was to have an inexpensive get-away to a beautiful beach resort and we are very happy with our choice. We have done a fair bit of travelling over the years and the complainers never cease to amaze us. The staff work very hard to keep the resort running smoothly. Beach within very close walking distance to all units. No venders prowling, plenty of chairs and palm covered palapas for everyone, catamarans and paddleboats at your disposal, beach bars, and a beautiful sandy beach. There are many broken shells that without water shoes you will have to maneuver around when entering the water. We brought beach blow-ups along with noodles to float on. Meals: If your goal is to eat gourmet meals this may not be the place for you--you will not starve, there is plenty of food. We only went to breakfast and dinner skipping lunch every day by choice. Breakfast was always delicious and there was enough variety for dinner -- Wednesday is Lobster night at the buffet. The bread and rolls at the buffet were delicious and plentiful. We only had lunch on one occassion at a restaurant near the pool where they made home-made pizza. There was a lady at our resort who mentioned that the buffet lunches were the best meals. We tried a couple of the a la cart restaurants for dinner and enjoyed the Cuban. Staff: Hats off to the people at the front who are faced all day long with people who have issues--many involving internet. From tech support to complaints, I have witnessed the staff maintaining their composure and smiling while being constantly bombarded. Everyone who works at the resort puts in a lot of effort to make sure people are satisfied. I would happily exchange bills for coins for the staff who requested. I gave a grounds keeper my beach towels on the day I left because he asked me for them 3 days before our departure and I told him I would give them to him on the last day--for some reason the towels seemed to be a big hit. He wanted to show his appreciation and greeted me with a smile every day and one day came to show me an iguana for a picture opportunity and on another gave me a home-made bracelet. Understand that you will not be harrassed--these people are honourable. Rooms: The rooms were large and spacious with a comfortable bed and balcony to sit and have a morning coffee. The plumbing is old but funcitional. The maids stocked us daily with a large bottle of water and clean towels. Bars: The bartenders were great. Most days in the late afternoon the beach bars ran out of ice along with some alcohol selections, and one day even beer. This was no big deal--I am certain if we were so inclined we could have gone to a bar in the resort, in any case it was not a negative for us. On a side note, we did not book diamond club and my husband is a scotch drinker, so, we bought scotch at duty free on the way down to enjoy his scotch in case it was not available. Whiskey was available at the beach bar and scotch/whiskey however, was available intermittently at the hotel lounge. Entertainment: There was always something going on at 9:00 pm beside the hotel lounge bar peformed by the entertainment staff who are multi-talented. A highlight was the sax player who gets the entire place rocking...he seems to appear on Monday nights in the hotel lounge after the Michael Jackson show, and Thursday night after the 9pm show. He is amazing and it is so nice to see everyone dancing and enjoying the music...we also lucked out when he played in the buffet during our dinner on Monday evening. All in all, go without huge expectations, and be very pleasantly surprised.

Well I didn’t have hot water and my television didn’t work at all; and my balcony door was broken and couldn’t close properly or lock. Overall it was ok but I didn’t like the room and food ; service was good
