Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Amazing beach but not a 4+

Travelled from March 14 to 21 2022 Although the beach was amazing, the lack of service and average food would not make me come back, not a 5 stars or 4.5. If you can afford it stay at the Punta Cana next door. Beach: hotel not directly on the beach, a 10min walk through the property and Punta Cana hotel to get there. BUT beautiful, has a big sandy area, clean. Ocean was amazing...Best part of the trip. Not enough chairs, by 7:15 all gone. Lots of waves.  Pools: has 2 pools, Slides are  [... read more]nice but closes at 5pm. Food: buffet has choices but repetetive, food average. Most food was warm to cold, meat always overcooked. Cafe shop has good coffee. Mexican was good, Italien not so much. Seafood was good but meat and fish over cooked. We ate at Punta Cana buffet our last night, big difference in food and service. Rooms: big and clean. Patio door has no screen. Shower has no door. First 2 days no new towels until we called several time and then had to tip someone to get some. Weather: HOT during the day, windy at night but nice. Service: check-in awful, restaurants very very slow, beach area not much service in blue chairs area. Everyone looking for tips if you need any help. Took them 2h check us in. Not sure if they were understaffed or staff lacking training or impacts of covid as friends went 4 years ago and they said it doesn't compare. Property: clean, beautiful. Lobby is more an entry point, not typical lobby where you can hang out, you have to go to the Punta Cana one. Entertainment: only music and signing at splash, shows are at Punta Cana. Same type of shows like other resorts, nothing exciting.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Really amazing resort!

Beautiful resort, the room are spacious and the beds are really comfortable. The hair blow dryer provided in each room is fantastic. The wifi is excellent everywhere on the resort even at the beach. The quality and variety of the food and the drinks is way superior to other resort we have done in the past in DR. We love the beach and the chairs at our disposition. We certainly made great memories at this beautiful resort.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely spot on THE best Caribbean beach

This hotel has many of the features that I really enjoy. First of all, the beach is very wide and has soft, flour-like sand and you can walk out in the water for what seems like forever. The resort is smaller, and boasts pretty, two storey bungalows. The property is well laid-out and well-maintained. Service is excellent and you will be greeted in the morning by one of your bungalow's butlers; ours, Lester and Diana, were both right on top of any requests we had and seemed sincere in their inter [... read more]est in ensuring we enjoyed our stay. The food was good and the best we have had in Cuba. Meals were a la carte, with a couple of small buffet sections. I don't know if that has always been their approach or whether it is a Covid response. It was a small frustration to go without hard copy menus (a Covid measure, I assume), but the servers were good to explain the choices. It is not a wild, party place although, one day, things got rowdy at one of the pools; I feel as though the majority of the guests, like myself, were annoyed by this so if you want to party hard, this is probably not your destination. We changed rooms after the first night because our first, ground floor room (0701?) backed very closely onto dense shrubbery and trees, which I found, made the room dark and claustrophobic. The room they moved us to was perfect. While visually appealing, the hotel is on a bit of a hill, which might present a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. In terms of Covid-related practices, during our stay (March 9-16, 2022) all staff, from gardeners to bar tenders, wore masks at all times. Guests were required to wear masks indoors unless eating or drinking, which I believe, only involved two restaurants and one bar. The buffet-selection for breakfast add-ons (fruit, baked goods, etc.) was staffed by servers who place your choices on your plate while you stand behind the taped line on the floor (which most people seemed not to notice). There were always house-keeping staff outside washrooms and I saw frequent cleaning of the facilities. On the day before our departure we were shuttled to a neighbouring resort to have our Covid tests done; it is my understanding that this will no longer be necessary after April 1st. If you like Cuba, you will love this resort!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: First time but not the last

We have been to Cuba many times but this hotel is definitely the best we have stayed at. Considering all of the shortages in Cuba, we found the food to be excellent. The pool and the grounds are beautiful as is the beach. We will return.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Tired resort

Covid protocols are sanitizing when entering a restaurant and taking a temperature, wearing a mask to sit down in restaurant. The staff had masks on at all times, but many of the guests didn't when entering elevators or lobby. The staff are wonderful, they are all cheerful and will chat with you if you engage with them. Shout out to Patricia on the Beach who brought us drinks all week. The resort grounds are nice, we didn't use the pools but they are very attractive. Only 1 of the big water [... read more]slides was ever open in the week we were there, and they are not made for large adults (based on the flex in the tubing when an adult went down). If you don't like the smell of Marijuana don't go here - lots of people were taking advantage of the local product throughout the whole resort (balcony's, outdoor seating areas, beach). We found the food was very good, the Caribbean restaurant and the jerk hut were authentic and tasty. When we got to the resort it wasn't full and was easy to get in to the restaurants, but as the week progressed it filled up and became harder to get a table - the restaurants are shared with the Blue Waters Resort next door. Also two of the restaurants listed online were closed all week - Taj and Jade. Calypso and Armadillo alternated opening nights. Asked at the front desk which restaurants are open and they didn't know or told the wrong one - found out part way through the week that there was a desk in the lobby that had a list of openings - why isn't this posted on like the activity board? Now our room - it really needs a lot of work, beyond just the regular tiredness of dirty grout and dinginess. We paid for an Oceanview room, the ocean is only visible if you stand at one end of the balcony and look sideways. Otherwise you just see the balcony's across the courtyard. The room pictures featured by the supplier Sunwing show very little of the room since the room is fairly small. Our room had a King bed and a weird sofa, a desk with fridge and place to put suitcase and that is it. We had looked at the pictures on the Royalton site but they are all for the Diamond club rooms. If you get checked into a room with a connecting door demand another room - unless you like to be woken up when the neighbors come in or have sex. When we checked in the A/C didn't work, our safe needed resetting - these were fixed within 2 hours. The handset on the phone didn't work, but there was a speaker phone on the base unit. The hinges on the bathroom door are damaged, making it hard to open and close, with a horrendous noise. The closet doors are stiff to slide, unless you want try to open the drawers in the closet then they slide back at you. Our balcony sliding door didn't lock at all - the part on the door frame was totally destroyed, so you had to pay attention to make sure it was closed properly. We had asked to change rooms when things weren't working and were told no, even though rooms were available. We have travelled to many islands and stayed in a range of establishments from 1 star to 5 star and got what we expected from the rating. This resort is not a 4 1/2 star in our opinion but a 3 star or because of the restaurants a 3 1/2 star.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Poor resort

Dull and lackluster, this resort took over 4 hours one night to come and unlock our room. Kids were sitting outside til after 1am. We were upgraded to the Royalton which was much better, although we couldn't be given a DC room. Will never book at Splash again.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Good but could have been better

The beach, pool and water park were great. The food was ok but I have been at better resorts in Jamaica. The room was small for a family of four and the bath and sink didn’t drain . Check in for the Diamond club took forever so we didn’t get to meet our butler until day 4. Butlers did go above and beyond to try to accommodate our requests.

Water park was great! Lifeguards at the top and bottom of each slide. Rooms were ok, beds were uncomfortable, food was not good. A la Carte restaurants were recycled buffet food not enough selection for kids. Activities at the pool We’re not geared for kids.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Beach

This hotel is small and perfect for those looking for a quiet intimate getaway. The food was delicious the staff was very helpful and the beach was just incredible you can get around the hotel easily and all the meals are à la cart. I was impressed by the food as I’ve been to Cuba many times and this was the best place by far

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Family Vacation

We had a family vacation with 6 adults and 6 kids between the ages of 8 and 1. The kids had a great time. The pools were wonderful and they enjoyed the hotdogs at poolside where the adults enjoyed the nachos and quesadillas. It is a large resort and there are not enough restaurants. Reservations were hard to come by and one restaurant we really wanted to go to was only open for lunch and at the opposite end of the resort from the kids pools. The food in the buffet was very good at every meal!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Wonderful resort!

Really enjoyed all of the restaurants, the food was great and the servers were friendly! The beach was beautiful and the grounds were clean. The rooms were a little smaller than expected, and the beds creaked with the slightest movement but were comfortable. The shows were fun, the entertainers were very good and interactive with the audience.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Best beach and service.

Everything was really good. The only thing to stop me from going back would be the old bed in the room. Hard on the back. But I understand they are renovating, hopefully this includes new beds. The hotel has amazing staff, always working and very nice. Food was plentiful.

We had a wonderful trip, the staff were outstanding. A special thank you to Dennis, and Lazaro for making our trip unforgettable. Dennis is the head butler who walks 20 miles a day, he never stops. Lazaro runs the cigar lounge, he was always welcoming and remembered our drinks from the 1 day we were in, we were a group of 7. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: A few hiccoughs

The grounds were nice. The food was good. It was difficult to get dining reservations unless you opted to buy a bottle of wine and then you can get in whenever or wherever you wanted. Very difficult to get a chair by the pool as early as 6 AM because the towel holders hold all of the chairs and tell everyone that they’re taken unless you offer money. Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Best Trip Ever

I've been to many resorts at many different locations and this was by far the best. The resort, food, staff, vibes and sun was absolutely amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Highly recommend!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Will never use Tripcentral again!

We loved LOVED the resort. The pools and beach were incredible but the most amazing part was the food. Top notch. Will for sure go back to Royalton Bavaro. Thank you for a week in heaven! Tripcentral got many things wrong and I’m paying the consequences- literally. Brutal customer service. From not booking us when we thought we were booked to booking us in a room we didn’t ask for and having to downgrade at the resort. Among other things. Just brutal. The Amenities were very close and the staff was amazing, even through COVID they were always there to help in any way. I would recommend this resort. Our butlers Emilio and Teuidi were excellent in getting our questions answered and were very quick to respond to our emails. Every restaurant that we visited the staff again was there to help in any way. Our hotel stay was really great. The grounds are very beautiful, the rooms are clean and the food is really good. We stayed in the Diamond club and it was well worth it. A big shout out to our butlers Amilio and Teudi they were simply amazing. They touched base everyday to ensure that we had everything we needed and find out where we would like dinner reservations for the evening. Hotel was good, a little mess in the room with water keeps coming out of the washroom when anyone took shower but overall it was goo. Good was great, the staff was awesome and humble… extremely helpful. We had a great week off!
