Melia Las Dunas: Excellent Resort

We just returned from 1 week vacation with 2 other couples at Melia Las Dunas. The a la carte restaurants(Oriental, Mediterranean, International) were excellent. The cafeteria was great for breakfast and lunch with great food and no line ups. Our room was very comfortable in the adult section. The gardens were beautiful and the beach was very nice and easily accessible. We attended great shows almost every evening. The staff is very friendly.. We are booked to return in March.

Melia Costa Rey: Horrible

Club Tropical: Always my Favourite

Jan 16 to Jan 30, 2020. This was our third stay at Club Tropical in Varadero. We love it because of its location (Calle 21), is literally on the beach, and is perfect in size. The on-again and off-again bus stops right in front of the hotel. The front desk people , maid staff and food/drink staff are very receptive. If you come to them with a smile and patience, I believe they would do anything for you. The food is always fine. It does not have the variety that the larger hotels have, but most [... read more] everything is tasty. There is obvious effort to keep the grounds litter free. The beach is clean. Lots of new beach chairs and shady umbrellas. It was a surprise when returned to the airport and informed that we could no longer use our CUCs to purchase our Duty Free. The shops will accept only Canadian and American funds. I will be sure to purchase in the town and pack in my luggage. We will return to Club Tropical again next year.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Booking problem

When I arrived at the hotel I was told I had booked super saver double occupancy. I went through the options carefully as I needed two rooms. There is a drop down menu to select 1 or 2 rooms I specifically chose 2. I never was advised that the selection was not valid. The room was nothing like the photos. Really the hotel is quite run down. No hot water and the salt water pool was closed that was a main feature in booking this hotel. People were very nice. Playa Caleta: Good value

I had low expectations for this resort based on reviews I had read. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was good for Cuba standards and the view of the ocean was amazing. The a la cartes were great and you can go everyday you just have to book them at 10. The beach was beautiful although it was deep very quickly. The bar in the caleta building was much better then the Puntanera one and so was the buffet. My biggest complaint would have been the service in the buffet restaurants. Hotel Caracol: Caracol Santa Lucia

This was my fourth time in Caracol.The rooms are very nice, everything is very clean...including mattresses, curtains, furniture in the sitting room, the bathroom are spacious and very clean. Personal is dedicated to their work. The food is plentiful.,,In the restaurant you have so much meals to combine. The entertainment staff works practically the whole day, and specially in the evening.Very talented young people. Great service at bars. Beach is good and clean. Great vacation.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great experience

The hotel grounds were kept clean by hard working groundskeepers. Our room was always cleaned and freshened daily with all in room amenities working perfectly. RUEBEN from the pool bar was the friendliest bar tender and always remembered our drinks he was one of the staff that made our experience great at this resort. The meals were typical cuban meals with some good and some not so good. But you will always find something you like and enjoy to eat. The booze runs freely and cold lol. The only not so appealing thing for me was that the beach is always packed and they dont have near enough shaded areas for people unless you get up at 6am and they and save chairs that's if someone hasn't tipped of beach workers the day before. All in all a fantastic resort and would definitely go back.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Mostly trash

Room and resort were not very clean, food was awful mostly pork and overcooked vegetables, bar staff were unfriendly but restaurant and cleaning staff were great, very loud all hours of the day into the night, my sink leaked and toilet broke 2 days in and they were slow to fix, would never recommend to anybody

Melia Buenavista: Beautiful place

We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful beach getaway. The location is spectacular as there are both sunset and sunrise white sand beaches. Amazing snorkeling on the sunrise beach only 20’ off shore. The staff at the resort work very hard to provide the best (food, room, dining, beach, lobby) service we have ever seen at an all inclusive. Those who have been to Cuba before know that it’s difficult for resorts to have a lot of food  [... read more]and drink variety. But with that in mind, we really enjoyed the restaurants (especially fish dishes, lobby bar espresso, beach bar mojitos).

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Smaller more relaxing resort

Our stay at the Royalton was very relaxing. We spent every day at the beautiful beach reading. The staff are very attentive and are happy to help you with everything. Michele and Javier were especially great and went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. Because its a smaller resort the staff are really able to get to know you and have the time to get everyone drinks. You have access to the resorts next door Memories and Grand Memories, with over 3,000 people at those resorts they [... read more] are much louder and busier, so it was nice to go over to change up the dinners and watch some entertainment but the best to come back to a quieter more relaxing Royalton. For Cuba, the food was excellent. Its all menu dinners, and a little buffet for breakfast but you can order your eggs from the menu. They have a nice market attached right to the resort to buy souvenirs. The Wifi is not great, but it's nice to disconnect. Sunwing was brutal, will not be flying with them again. But if we can find another carrier to get us there we will be back!

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Good resort

Resort was clean. Staff very friendly. Beach and pool was excellent. The only concern was not enough variety of food. Same food everyday in the buffet. Only booked a la cart 2 days in advance so was always booked up. Big shortage of spoons at the resort.

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Perfect for us!

The SunBeach is not a luxury hotel, that we knew from the start - even before going. But, considering the price & the location, it was a 5 star vacation for us. Being return guests, we did get an ocean view room with balcony. What else can we ask for? (Oh yes, I would just ask that they clean the tables / tablecloths, a little better at the buffet & that would earn them one more star from me.) Thank you Dianne Abrey, your help was precious. Resonance Blu Varadero: Great place!

My husband and I loved our stay at the Memories resort in Varadero. The staff was helpful and kind. The resort was clean and had many amenities, like pools, activities for young and older, massages, lounge, wifi, restaurants, excursions. We loved every minute of our stay.

Melia Las Americas: Great Resort!

Hotel was great - very suited to golfers as it is a short walk to the Varadero golf course. The location is great - close to a shopping mall, bus stop and the airport. It has a very nice beach, the water is amazing and very clean. The standard room we had was very nice - lots of storage space for all your clothes, and a great view of the golf course - we saw some amazing sunrises every morning. I really enjoyed getting a cappuccino after my meals and enjoying it outside on the patio - the coffee was very good! Also every night after dinner there was always something going on in the lobby - we had singers and dancers one night, opera the following, a pianist, then a fashion show... the arts and culture are very important in Cuba so the level of entertainment was beyond anything I expected. Definitely I would go back to this hotel - and we met so many others who return year after year!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Spacious Resort

Friendly staff. Plenty of beach to wander and find your own piece of paradise. We really enjoyed our meals at the French a la carte Oh La La! Our basic Garden View room was very spacious. The food was simple, but varied enough that we were never bored of it.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Starfish tropical resort

Wonderful entertainment team. So much fun. Great bands, shows at night. Beach is stunning. Lionel of the entertainment team who is a twin is making people want to visit this resort again. Wednesday nights at this resort is extra special. Champagne, seafood, roast turkey. Pork, and dessert as far as the eye can see.special mention to service staff, norrhay, Brenda, Mary, and Dennis. You made our stay even better. Look so forward to seeing you all soon.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: A Great Resort, but the name is very deceiving

We had a great week. The food was excellent, the grounds were well kept, the staff was phenomenal. however the lack of any beach front or ocean swimming on the resort was shocking. Given that it’s called Playa Pilar one would only assume it’s a step to playa Pilar, but instead you must take a bus that is usually too full or a taxi which costs $5 American per person (so for 5 people it’s $25 AMERICAN!) for the 4 minute drive! Walking is not really a safe option.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: A go-to resort!

Great resort! The beach is beautiful! We were here from January 19th to January 26th, 2020. The service was really great, the staff was really friendly and super responsive. Even if the building is not recent, it was super clean at all times. The resort is beautiful and huge. We're definitely going to come back!

Melia Peninsula-Melia Habana: Simple but nice resort

We enjoyed our stay and would go back. It’s not as flashy or fancy as other resorts but it has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The resort staff are very good to help with any issues you may have. Also the beach was beautiful.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing Resort

Very friendly people, beautiful beach, room is clean, just need a bit more maintenance. Very nice swimming pools. Food is above average. Bar and drink are very good. Overall experience is wonderful. Will go back again.
