Grand Sunset Princess: Great resort!

This was our second time to the Grand Sunset Princess! This time we stayed in the platinum rooms, which are definitely worth the price! We loved having our own concierge and private pool if we wanted a quiet day by the pool. The staff everywhere across the resort are super friendly and always willing to help. The resort is very clean and the food is pretty decent, although I will say it has decreased in quality since we last visited in 2015. There are plenty of food options and the sports bar h [... read more]as some great paninis for lunches or late night snacks (24hr service). The pools were numerous and there were choices between party pools and quiet pools, but the ocean shore and first 30-40' of water was full of seaweed and smelled awful most days; we didn't even have a chance to swim in it.We had a couple issues with our room (the toilet broke about 4 times during our 2 week stay, and the AC was broken one day), but overall we would still recommend this resort to anyone wanting a great experience in the Riviera Maya!

Riu Dunamar: Perfect family resort

This was our first time in Cancun. The hotel and staff are undeniably the best. Always respectful, quick and generous with their time. Our room was great and spacious. Food was delicious and more than enough for everyone. The only thing I would say about this hotel is there was not one pool left for adults. Even the pool bars had children in them. I am not interested to having other peoples children always around. I found with 4 Pools and water slides they could keep the Bar pools for adults  [... read more]only. Some times I found people who had too much to drink in these pools were not acting appropriately for children. And watching them jump in the pool bar was always scary a there were tables and stools hidden under water.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Awesome Vacation Resort

Barcello Colonial Beach Resort was excellent. Rooms were air conditioned, grounds were lush and green, pool was amazing and the food was good. Beach was lovely even though seaweed washed ashore daily.... no big deal. It was sunny and hot for our 7 days with a lovely breeze coming in off the ocean. Loved the fact that the pool and beach were next to each other. Would go again for sure!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Azul 5 Cancún Mexico

Fabulous place! Not a complaint with the exception of booking a la cartes. Too much time spent waiting to reserve tables. Most is booked by members so you are wasting your time trying to book a restaurant. Simply arrive and wait to be seated. It was frustrating to see how much space was available for sitting and how few reservations were allowed.

Riu Palace Baja California: Very good new resort.

This is a beautiful resort with staff that could not have been better. The attention to our needs and the overall service of ALL of the staff, at the front desk, room service, restaurant staff, pool attendants,bar staff, and particularly management staff, was more than we expected. They went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay at this Riu Resort. The food in the Buffet and the five specialty restaurants was excellent.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Spot

This was my second time at the Bahia Principe Coba and I wasn’t disappointed. Great weather and even better staff. We always feel welcome when we go. Great place to take your family. Only issue we had was the air conditioning didn’t work in two of our rooms and they couldn’t fix it. It took them 3 days to finally move us to a new room.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Amazing Resort

This is one of my favourite places. It’s a beautiful place. Has amazing food and staff. Yet the best thing of all is pop. That means people of palladium. It’s the best nightly entertainment I have ever seen. This place is a must.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Beautiful Resort

Recently spent the week of April 20 - 27th, 2019 at Occidental at Xcaret. What a gorgeous resort! Not only was our room great but the entire resort is breath taking. It felt like we were in the jungle as the hotel is thoughtfully built amongst the natural vegetation. The grounds have monkeys, many species of birds and animals that are indigenous to the area. The resort staff were friendly and helpful and everywhere was clean. This resort was very family friendly and the children in the "kids [... read more] club" seemed to be having a blast, just my observation. The were a good varied of restaraunts and there was no lining up to reserve dinners, you just walked in to any one whenever you wanted to. No limits. Great pool as well as a nice beach with a private adult only area which we enjoyed the most. Only aspect that was disappointing was the night shows and adult entertainment... The evening shows were no where near the quality we experienced in Cuba. The resort seemed to shut down by 10:00pm. All in all I would go back to the Occidental and as well Xcaret Eco Park in itself was a wonderful experience! Next time though definately 10 days NO LESS

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Trip of a lifetime

For the first time in 30 years my husband and I took this trip and had the most amazing experience of our lives. Everything about this resort was top notch, from the service, food, entertainment, accommodations, pool and the beach. The staff of this resort were so friendly and helpful. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Wonderful vacation!

The resort and vacation were overall amazing! We would definitely return! Great value for the dollar. This was my first time to Mexico and I was a bit anxious about getting sick from the food and water and about feeling safe. We stayed on the resort for the entire vacation (as we were only into R & R) and we always felt safe. I took advice from a friend and took 'travellers probiotics' and a shot of tequila everyday. Those two things, and the provided bottled water and amazing food, and I [... read more] wasn't sick once! Food: Absolutely no complaints and definitely 5 star. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets were beyond plentiful, delicious and had a wide variety of choice. The servers waited on you 'hand and foot' for beverages and clearing. This resort allowed vacationers to go to as many 'a la cart' restaurants as they wanted for dinners. We went to 5 in all and the food was impeccably prepared, well presented and served in a friendly and high class way. We even were able to eat outside 2x with a table set up with all of the finest on the sand overlooking the water! We were able to choose from 2 'a la cart' menus. Wonderful experience! Beach: Problem with algae. Shore was a bit rocky. Would bring rubber beach shoes if I went again. Still, the beach was good. Water was wonderful and refreshing. Neat schools of fish to observe in the ocean if you have goggles. Pools: Amazing! 5 star! Plenty of lawn chairs in the sun and shade. Lots of pools. Never really felt crowded at all. There was an amazing 'infinity' pool designated for adults. It looked amazing but we never went in it because we had a young teenager. Drink service at the pool was excellent. Everyday towards dinner, a server came around with fresh fruit on a skewer. The pool we stayed at each day was quieter, and more suited for reading and relaxing. We were only disturbed one day by a group of 'drunks' including one who threw up in the pool towards the end of the day. A recommendation to the resort to make sure bartenders/security don't allow 'drunkenness' and to always keep one pool area quiet. Grounds: 5 star!! Immaculately maintained. It was like a park. Common areas: Super clean, spacious, lots of neat architectural and artistic features to look at. Rooms: Super clean, mini-bar and waters, soaps, towels always restocked. The comfortable beds were made up neat & tight like in the army (not easy to do). Air conditioner was controllable so room temperature was nice. Lots of TV stations in different languages. A good working safe in the closet to keep valuables. Large rooms. One recommendation to the hotel would be to try and limit the amount of times the staff went into the rooms. At the beginning of the vacation, I thought our room was being snooped in. I was worried about theft but nothing was taken. I let front desk know but no-one got back to me to explain. I soon figured there were different staff going into the room at different times to do different jobs. (Never saw that before.) Transfers/flights: Everything was well coordinated and pretty well stress free. Service: 5 star!! The vast majority of the staff were super friendly, helpful, efficient and always greeted us with an 'hola'. The food & drink servers, hostesses, table clearers were especially so kind and pampering. Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Amazing resort

Amazing resort with nature and wildlife. Lots of activities, good food and friendly staff. May visit there again in the future. Shows catered for old and young. Free drinks served to you wherever you were---beach, pools, theatre or lobby.

Plaza Pelicanos Club: Meh you get what you pay for.

This resort was ok. It was very inexpensive and you get what you pay for. The location is pretty good. Fairly close to town. A short cab or bus ride away. The staff are great. The rooms are clean. The food is a 4 or 5 out of 10. The pools (2) are small-ish but very warm. They are heated. I just LOVE a warm pool. The beach is nice. Not enough chairs though. The bar selection is the usual all-inclusive menu. I wont stay there again because I would prefer a hotel closer to the Romantic Zone [... read more]. Happy Vacation to you!

Hotel Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort: Beautiful stay in Riviera Maya!

Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort exceeded all our expectations and set the bar high for our first time in Mexico. The resort's facilities and amenities were indeed world-class. Service was top notch and the staff were phenomenal. We are already planning to come back and stay longer! If there is something that was a negative was the seaweed situation on the beach. It was just too much. But we have very much enjoyed our stay. Muchas gracias por todo!

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing resort

Great vacation April 22-29/19 Resort was beautiful, clean and wonderful staff. Rooms were great spacious and comfy beds. Food was amazing! Beach fantastic. Pools were fantastic! Highly recommend this resort to others.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Great resort

Been to this resort a number of times. Grounds and beach are beautiful. Plenty of things to do around and never get bored. Kids friendly, lots of kids slides. Good Snorkelling right of the beach. Always recommend this place to my friends.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great but not amazing

Room was very clean and nice. We stayed in the rooftop room in El Beso. I wouldn't recommend the swim up rooms, didn't see anyone really use them and they are literally beside the pool. Beach is narrow and small and a little rocky. Seaweed was present but that's basically everywhere and nothing resort can do about it. Food was good. Sakura restaurant and the italian place were the best ones in our opinion. Barcelo Maya Caribe: Fabulous vacation!

The hotel was fantastic! Such a large area between 5 hotels, with variety in food, pools, but well layed out that it was easy to orient. The staff were all so welcoming, always with a smile on their face. Everything was very well maintained. The food was really good!! buffets, al le carte, and you could find something at any time of day. I never had to think about anything or worry about anything, it was absolutely fantastic!!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort

Resort had a lot to offer activities, swim with dolphins, spa etc. very clean, food and service was awesome and friendly staff. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. We will definitely be back. Had a great time and highly recommend

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Nice pools but horrible beach

The hotel is beautiful but the beach is so horrible we would never go to this area again. Service was great but i got food poisioning. Thr quality of the wine needs to be better. More options for different wines. Waterpark is amazing.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: We were speechless!

We were a little skeptical from the glowing reviews but WOW were we impressed! Buffet and restaurants were amazing! Bars everywhere with Premium drinks that are not watered down and cheerily filling our bubba thermoses. Am a chocoholic and had the best chocolate desert at Limas! Dark chocolate and white chocolate with green macha powder artistically presented on the dish! Yikes was so good! Buffet was a foodies dream! Room was spacious and clean. Were without hot water for one day...not a big de [... read more]al. Sargassum is a problem throught most of the carribean however our Akumal resort had full time crews cleaning it up so beach was not as bad as it could have been. We have been to most of the islands in the Caribbean but at Akumal from april 22 to april 29th we honestly had the best week at a resort ever. Marco the buffet and restaurant manager was very accomodating and made us feel so welcome. Staff was always cheery and never made us feel unwelcomed. We are planning on going back this November with 2 other couples!
