Playabachata Hotel: Playa resort plaayyaass

The resort was great, friendly staff, great food, nice pools and nice ocean view. We took an excursion out to paradise island that was stunning! Would recommend! The locals on the beach weren't too pushy and the process for booking the excursion was easy. Would go again :)

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Perfect Get Away from Everything

We just came back from 11 days at the Catalonia La Romana. It was a wonderful vacation. We needed to get away and have nothing to do and nowhere to go. The resort was perfect for us. We were given a room in the central courtyard area and asked to be moved somewhere off the beaten path. The next day we were reassign and paid a small amount for an upgrade. With this we also got two massages (one for each of us) and dinner on the beach (which we declined). The women at the spa were terrific. We eac [... read more]h had the 25 minute back-shoulder-neck massage and liked it so much that we returned a few days later for a second treatment. It took the tension and the knots in our shoulder areas out. Ahhhhh. Francesca has the magic touch. The resort is VERY clean. Staff are always sweeping, cleaning and picking up after guests. We loved it that, no matter who on staff passed by us, each person smiled and said hello. We felt welcomed and valued. Our room was perfectly air conditioned and always clean. You have to get to the beach between 7 and 7:30 to get the loungers in the the shade. Be ready for a walk (about 2 blocks long) from the resort to the beach either through the two resorts or along the side road. There is a cart that goes every 20 - 30 minutes back and forth. We will consider returning to the Catalonia in the future.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Relaxing resort!

Beautiful pool area, tranquil setting with numerous walkways and foot bridges surrounding you with ponds and birds. Plentiful buffets of high quality foods. Good hospitality from servers. Disappointed with activities and most nightly shows were all in Spanish and ended too soon. No night life to speak of or dancing opportunities. Perfect resort to relax and unwind. Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Awesome resort

Rooms awesome, food great, pools amazing, view amazing. We were a group and had great time in the resortz. Loved the disco, Food, Room cleanliness, Public areas cleanliness, Beds, bathrooms. We would highly recommend this

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Fantastic small resort

This is one of the best resorts available if you looking for a quite, peaceful and not at all crowded experience. The beach is small but amazing, the sun rise catches it in the morning and make for a wonderful view. The restaurants have a beautiful view of the water, as does the sunset bar. The staff is upbeat, very attentive and happy to help in any way they can. The food is very good and the al la carta are easy to book as the resort has many amenities for the small number of rooms. The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great Escape

Beautiful resort. Great staff. Great food. Nice room. Shuttles were very fast and efficient. Main pool was very nice. Main beach was also a nice place to be. The smaller beach was great because everything around it was natural and it was a nice quiet place to spend time. Royal Golden services were below par as compared to the Royal Golden at El Portillo. Hardly ever saw an employee in the RG room.

Riu Republica: really good resort great for adults

very clean rooms, beautiful grounds & beach areas, friendly staff. Food not outstanding but acceptable. Entertainment such as pools parties, etc bar service really good. no shortage of things to do both on site and other riu location

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful resort

Do not believe the bad reviews, the resort is awesome. The grounds are impeccable, the pools are very well kept. The service in the bars and restaurants are excellent. Lots of loungers, both shade and sun. The rooms are very well appointed. Good selection of food at the buffet and Don Pablo was very good. If you want white sand and crystal clear blue water , you won't find it here. The beach is a nice long walking beach. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Plan to return.

Impressive Punta Cana: Our home away from home down south

We had returned from a 7 day vacation on a Thursday in January 2019 and then booked another 7 day vacation on the following Thursday as we could not wait to go back...plus the weather was freezing in Ottawa, Canada...lol. There is nothing negative I can say about this resort. The staff are all pleasant and hard working and were willing to help us with anything when needed. Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Fantasia Bahia Principe is really a great resort for families.

I would absolutely recommend this resort to parents or grandparents travelling with younger children. The grounds are well kept and clean. Pool area and water park great. Walking distance to beach. Staff very friendly and helpful..

Be Live Experience Hamaca Beach: Had a wonderful vacation

Just spent a week here from Feb 2-Feb 9, 2019. We were nervous after reading online reviews because there seemed to be so many people complaining. When we arrived, we met a couple who said they had a terrible time and would never come back. Great. We had a Superior Deluxe Oceanview room, Room 405. The view was incredible. The room was beautiful. The a/c was not perfect, but we slept comfortably every night - and I'm always hot. The breeze was very nice, so we opened our windows at night. [... read more] Our goal was to sit and enjoy our vacation. We did. We stayed by the pool every day. We did one excursion on the Party Boat. We had a few hiccups there, but everything was resolved and we were well taken care of. The staff were incredible. More than willing to help in any way and always pleasant. Our favourite staff member was Tommy in Mr Rogers who went out of his way to please us. He is such a sweet, lovable guy. We absolutely adored him. I found that many of the guests were quite rude but that has nothing to do with the hotel. The buffet is a bit small for the size of the resort. The coffee cups were always in demand as was the cutlery. The poor girls trying to keep up setting the tables must be given strict instructions to not hand the cutlery to people who ask for it - they seemed to guard it with their life. If there were 3 tables in her path to you that needed to be set up, they were set up before she would get to you and give you the cutlery. This was annoying because your food gets cold waiting for the cutlery. Unlike other guests, it did not ruin my vacation. The Lifestyle reps (in beige shirts) did come by often and ask you to go for a special drink. We were told that they get a $20 commission if they can lure you there. I told one rep that no, I wasn't interested, I am on vacation and did not come for a sales pitch. He said "I understand". I said I'm just like you - I work hard to save my money to come to a place like this and I don't have the extra money to buy a timeshare. He told my that's why they love the Canadians - because we don't try to be something we aren't and we actually take the time to talk to them. The resort isn't too big. I didn't find the walking too much at all. I have problems with my ankles and they were not an issue. However, I think someone with mobility issues should request a room on Level 0 or 1 or 2. Level 2 is ground level at the front and Level 0 is ground level at the beach. I read one review that complained about the "busy" street you have to walk across to get to the buffet. It was absolutely not an issue. The street is not that busy and a security guard stands there all day stopping traffic for pedestrians to cross. People also complain about the travel distance to the resort. Do your research before you book. I did - and my distance from the airport to the resort was 15 minutes through Air Transat who flew directly into Santo Domingo. Other airlines flew into Punta Cana and La Romana. Again, this is not the fault of the hotel. Check in was slow and could definitely use some improvement. Stood in line (we were near the back) for quite some time and then were told to come back at 3 (an hour later) to finish the check in (room assignment) which took another hour. The first part of the check in they gave us our bracelets so we could go and eat, but it's a long travel day and tired, cranky people don't like long, slow lineups. In the week we were there, I could see they were trying to make improvements. This also impressed me. If you go in looking for problems, you will find them - just as you would anywhere. If you go in with a positive attitude and remember why you are there, you will be thankful for a beautiful view, a very nice room, beautiful gardens/pools/ocean, and friendly, helpful staff.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: good value resort for relaxation

even though the resort needs updating, the beach was extremely clean, staff was very friendly and curteous, and the food was also very good ,the activities staff was excellent on engaging the vacationers on a variety of activities. I would recommend this resort .

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Three Star Resort

Buffet was good. Many choices. The grounds were very well maintained. We ate at two restaurants on the resort and not impressed by either We got very ill after eating at the fish restaurant. My friend was sick for three days and I was sick for nine days. Wipe out vacation. Staff were fantastic. Very friendly and aimed to please. Dancers were amazing

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Favourite resort so far

This resort is one of the most elegant properties in Punt cana. The surroundings are outstanding where ever you look. We stayed in deluxe tropical view and enjoyed the room immensely with its superb location to the beach , restaurants and lobby area. The grounds are immaculate and are in full view wherever you decide to walk. Restaurants are not reserved so its fair for everyone. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Good!

We visited the Bahia from January 25th, until February 3rd. As many have said, the resort is about an hour away from the airport (bumpy drive) but not a big deal. It is important to note that this is the first of the Bahia Principe chain & has not been updated in years (if ever). It is much smaller than many of the other Bahias, but still beautiful & ALWAYS clean. We had absolutely no problems with our rooms. The AC was perfect; the shower, although low on pressure, always had hot water; the [... read more] maids work VERY hard and our room was always clean by 1PM. The hotel does not offer free WIFI, but you can purchase it for the week for $12 Canadian at the lobby (it worked great all through the resort). Do not purchase the one that appears when you try to log on yourself, it will say $70… Go to the lobby & they will pick the right one! Check in/out were both easy as well. The food at the resort was good. Not amazing, but not horrible. The buffet was a little repetitive, but the food was good. It was a very typical buffet with enough of a variety each day to make sure everyone had a choice. Breakfast was the best in my opinion as they had an egg, and omelette station every morning. Much like the rest of the resort, the service of the buffet staff was great. They work very hard to please everyone! The A-La-Cartes were amazing! We did all three;The Mediterranean, The Takera, as well as the Dolce Vita (Italian). These were defiantly our best meals of the week, so I do recommend booking them. We went on our first day, and had no problems booking all three… Don’t wait until the middle of the week, and you won’t have a problem (this is common with ALL resorts). The pool is great! It was over 30 degrees every day, so the pool was the perfect place to cool off. The pool-bar was a little slow, but I do feel they are a little understaffed in that area. However, they were all awesome! They knew our choice of drinks a few days in. The Beach is okay… It does have a lot seaweed and shells along the shore, but we didn’t mind. Punta Cana has nicer beaches, but we knew this going there so we were not disappointed. It was still beautiful! It was a pretty quiet resort. It always depends on the group of people staying at the resort at the same time as you. We didn’t seem to have too many young groups, more couples (wanting to be stay low) so that probably added to the lack of stuff going on. There weren’t too many games throughout the day, which are usually fun but we still stayed busy! Overall our stay here at Bahia San Juan was great. We have been to so many different resorts, all throughout the Caribbean & we still enjoyed our week here & then some. Some people on here seem to be expecting a world class resort, and that is simply not the case when you’re paying the cheaper price to stay here. The staff were all beyond amazing. They were helpful, polite, and truly seemed to love working there. Everyone was friendly, and always willing to help! Eddy & Rafael made our day every single day at the buffet. Rosanna was very sweet. Waldy in the Lobby was very helpful and defiantly knew what he was doing! Joel & Juan, and the entire entertainment staff were awesome as well. Amazing staff indeed!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: 100% completely blown away by this resort

I was blown away by this resort. Beyond my expectations and checked off everything I had dreamed of that it would be. Amazing staff, clean facilities, every need was met. Beach was amazing. Would 100% recommend this place whether or not you have kids

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great week in the sun!

My husband and I stayed at BB Villas for a week. It was a smaller resort which we liked! The rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Food was tasty and always had lots of options. The beach was beautiful. Loved the beach beds. So nice to lie on and relax. Most of all we were most impressed with the staff. They were lovely. Always had smiles on their faces and made our vacation that much better. We would definitely go back.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Really loved this resort

When we first arrived at the resort we were a little apprehensive. Being that it was right in the downtown area and a lot of traffic. Once we got into the resort and got ourselves familiar with the area we knew we had picked the right resort. The staff keep this resort spotless. Always cleaning. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful resort.

Not a resort if you have mobility issues - lots of stairs and hills. Beautiful grounds, Standard rooms are dated but clean - worth booking a junior suite as it is updated and closer to the beach. Friendly staff and food was good. Beautiful long sandy beach for walks and never a problem finding beach chairs. Sunday Welcome Dinner was unbelievable - so much food you didn’t know what to choose. Would recommend this resort and will return.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Very nice place

All good about the hotel. clean and friendly staff. Rooms r tittle aged , the pools r nice and always something to do , we used the smaller pool it’s quiet and more family’s - what I like about it. U can take the golf car and go around for a ride is you get bored ;).
