Playa Caleta: Ok for the price

-The food was good for a 3-star hotel. -Some Mosquitos. -The room balcony door did not close properly, and mosquitos flew in during the night time. I asked to fix it several times but no one came. -The beach is stormy and becomes deep very near -Coffee bar was nice -Staff is friendly Overall, worth the money.

Memories Jibacoa: Relaxing

Loved it! Spacious room and great beach. Friendly staff and fun activities. Make sure to take advantage of the free tennis lessons. The grounds were well kept and the view from the room was incredible.

Hotel Tuxpan: Excelente resort

Love the hotel, and it's people, excellent service, good food, and awesome daily entretaent and friendly atmosphere We got upgraded to VIP room and were treated like kings. Definitely will go back to tuxpan when we are ready to go back to Cuba

Palma Real: Amazing

Realy good hotel nice food and nice intertanmemt and the room was good the food whas good and the beach was priceles stafe was ok the bar was good to reely good a plus . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Resonance Blu Varadero: 10th visit: another relaxing time

Everything was clean including the rooms. However, they need to sweep away the pebbles off the pathways connecting the apartment buildings with a sweeping machine. That's my only negative criticism if you can call it one. Please go to the Japanese restaurant. The food is excellent. Please ask for Mario or Alberto to cook for you. They provide a nice presentation. Other than that, the services and amenities were excellent. Punta Peninsula Varadero: Good Resort

The staff was very nice and friendly, we were short towels daily though and the room wasn't cleaned properly everyday. The food could have been better but the beach made it all worth it. Clean, clear, white sand, warm water and fun pools made our time at the resort very memorable!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Excellent hotel

Rooms - to expectations except for towels. Our room towels were worn thin and frayed with thread hanging out. Staff from gardeners to servers and spa were wonderful,always smiling and out to please. Good food for Cuba standards except for oriental restaurant which was a disaster. Air Transat rep Judith was a good help for tours and information. There were activities daily and the entertainment team were GREAT! Equipment such as pool lighting would have helped give added enhancement to the a [... read more]quatic ballet.

Villa Tortuga: Worst food ever...!

Don't waist any money on this hotel, the food is just plain horrible....my son and myself got sick big time.....also the cleaning in the hotel is crap.. mosquitos are every where even inside of the rooms, ....people are nice and friendly but the food and service in the buffet is just a nightmare...I ask my airtransat representative to change my hotel since I was expecting something way better, he just laughed at my face and tell me that this was the best hotel of all Grand Caribe Hotels ....what [... read more] a waist of money and time....the worse thing is that I still sick with diarrhea and stomach pain ....water in the hotel lobby and bars stands is Cuban water -Untreated water BEWARE....!

Melia Las Antillas: Not terrible

I've been to this resort this August and must say its not terrible. It's adult only, so it's nice and quiet. Food was well cooked, but not so many choices, which is to be expected in Cuba. The beach was beautiful, long and wide however they did not clean it everyday and this means we could find cigarettes buds, plastic glasses, small garbage on the beach. I believe this is not an issue with only this hotel, I just don't think they clean the beach often in Varadero. The rooms we big and spacious, [... read more] that was nice. Although my cleaning lady was super nice, I do think that the cleaning could of been better. Show was surprisingly good considering, you could see those same dancers go on for an hour without almost any break, that was impressive. Overall, good for the price you pay.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good value

My husband and I visited El Patriarca from Aug 27 - Sept 3 with a group of seven other people. It wasn't our first time in Cuba so we knew what to expect: - beautiful beach - wonderful people - decent food - especially at the restaurants - lots of rum - rooms and linens are not always amazing but they do their job - sunshine and warm sand Don't go expecting a luxury, 5+ star experience. The towel situation was a bit of an issue though. We had to use the same beach towel all week and bath towels were changed irregularly. The accommodations themselves were decent. No big complaints, again, not being our first time in Cuba we knew what to expect and it was fine in our books. Flat screen TV in room and we were able to catch CNN, CTV and and an Italian channel. Dining Food in Cuba is not fine dining but they do try their very best. The a la carte restaurants are very good especially the Italian and Brasilian. Very impressive desserts too! Awesome cheesecake and tiramisu! Beach/pool: Beautiful! Water was perfect temperature and for the most part, calm. Never had a problem getting a chair. Same thing with the pool. Loved starting the day at the beach and then before dinner, spending a couple hours at the pool. Pool was nice not ever too loud or over crowded. But that could be the time of the year as well. Good value for your money. Cuban people are kind and work hard at these resorts. I couldn't imagine working in that heat all day. So tip everyone a couple extra CUCs and relax. You're on vacation :)

No bueno for people with heart issues. Just when you think it's over and are settling down to enjoying your breakfast, they do it again a few minutes later...and then again a third time.

Melia Marina Varadero: Very Nice Stay

We hd the best time with the family. Food was ok and the beach was amazing. not alot of mature three, takes away some of the beauty. Also animation is good for people who dont like too much noise, not enough for kids. Overall very nice experience.

Palma Real: amazing resort for the price you pay!!

Overall good place to stay, nice people! good service in restaurants, bars.They were doing renovations, and there are lots of improvements done, and lots to be done still. Wish the foods were a bit more spiced and seasoned.

Playa Vista Azul: Nice resort but not a five star rating.

Very nice resort that is recently new. Hardly any beach front. Some of the staff there are really friendly and some are really moody. The a la cartes are good but the staff at Limoncellos and Romantic Dining are very moody and rude at times. The buffet is good. Different foods daily. The staff that is in management for the buffet has to learn to put a stop on the locals when they come in to dine. We witnessed three local Cuban families walk out with three cases of yogurt drinks in their bags, [... read more] five platefuls of cold cuts with cheese piled one inch thick, loaves of bread, tea bags, jams, cooked steaks, bacon and etc. We paid good money to go on this trip and we didn't get any of the foods that the locals walked out with to eat. One of the chefs at the grill station said I couldn't have a steak for dinner tonight because one of the local families ahead of me took all the steaks for themselves. People are just rude and selfish when coming to this resort especially if they are a local. They even cut in front of you to get their food instead of waiting in line like the rest of us. The first two days are room was cleaned on a daily basis, fresh towels and everything. The third day, nothing was done. My husband had to call and go down to the front desk to yell at them about it. If they don't feel like cleaning your room, they will just skip it. Several couples that we spoke to at the resort said the same thing as us, not a five star here at this resort. Management has to get their priorities in order to make it a five star. They have no idea what's going on and the food is just going out the doors to the locals.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: an overall good resort

The hotel was nice, with its colonial architecture, the food was good, and all accommodation accessible, a direct access to the beach, and the bus stop not far from its entrance, people were super nice and friendly, always smiling and warm, But I think the hotel was short stuffed, we definitely had some issues with the overall service, we have been given a 2 beds room while we asked for a one queen, and when we have been told someone will come to fix it, no one showed up, the very next day, o [... read more]ur room got flooded because of a storm and we woke up in a big lake in our room, we been told that an other room will be ready the same day and we can check in at 2pm, we went at 4:30pm and the room was still not, we have been given another room an hour later that was, the next day, water was leaking in our bathroom sealing, and the power circuit would go down each time we turn the lights on, they sent some one to only take the lamp out and let it leak for 2 days. other than that, the experience was good.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Review On Memories Varadero

I thought that the resort was very beautiful such as the beach, layout of the amentias. However, the services such as towel, food and waiting in big line ups after being in "Diamond Club" was not up to it's standards. Me and my friends were actually very disappointed with the services. I felt that the resort was very big which was nice, but there wasn't enough staffing or some of the staff where not as friendly. I believe that it was to much for them to handle. My girlfriends and I did enjoy our vacation as we spend many days/nights off the resort to make our trip memorable.

Playa Vista Azul: Modern Resort

I chose this resort primarily for its modern, clean appearance. I was impressed with all the facilities, and though people usually have bad things to say about the food in cuba, I found it good. Animation staff were also friendly. Cons of this resort were that there never seemed to be clean towels to exchange at the pool, and that the beaches were quite a walk from the main areas of the resort.

Hotel Los Cactus: Absolutely beautiful resort!!

The gardens were exquisite! The beach was beyond amazing! A very clean resort with so many fun options included. Food was fantastic! And the staff was super friendly and accommodating!!! Will absolutely go again!!

Melia Marina Varadero: Disappointing

Hotel was nice but the food was far below par. Everybody in our party became sick for at least 3 - 5 days as well as a number of other people we spoke with. Many items were missing from each menu in the specialty restaurants but I could expect this being in Cuba. The only thing edible for breakfast were the pastries. I was expecting a good cup of coffee at breakfast but this even came out of a push button machine. Everything about the hotel was OK except the food. On a number of occasions a glass was dropped in the buffet restaurant and I was amazed to see the staff just step over all the broken shards without cleaning it up. People and children are walking around in thin sandals and you could see them trying to sidestep all the glass. The staff just pushed it aside or put a chair over the larger pieces. This was beyond unacceptable. The up side to all of this is that I did lose weight.

Melia Las Americas: Nice resort!

This' my fourth time to Cuba, this' by far the best resort that we have stayed, everything 's good except for the entertainment part. Best beach ever, it's really closed to the resort. Our room located on the first floor which was very convenient to the lobby and the restaurants as we can just walk to our room without waiting for the elevator. The young gentleman who was responsible for the grill section was fabulous, always asked if we needed more food. Fresh fish and shrimps everyday! Lounge a [... read more]rea was nice with AC. Location is perfect as it's closed to the plaza. We paid a little more this time but it's well worth it. I would definitely go back to this resort again.
