Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Royal Decameron Montego Beach - Jamaca

Our visit to Jamica was great. The Royal Decameron is a good hotel to stay at if you have a budget to work with at the same time enjoy the island. The beach is beautiful and pool too is very nice and clean. The night entertainment was great. Service too was very good and staff are friendly.

Great resort but is really in dire need of some updating. We have been coming here since 2003 and it has had no updates done at all. If they want to stay in the loop with all the other new resorts they need serious work done at the hotel. The staff there is amazing, they could not have a better bunch of people working for them, they should be very proud of that. Not sure that we will be going back unless they do something. He went above and beyond the call of duty for us. Our friends Luis, Vincente & Christian are fabulous people that work so hard everyday to make everything right for you. The front desk staff were so helpful when I went to them to get access to their internal internet as I had a emergency at home and I needed to get an email back home. The Wifi there is really bad, cannot get a signal most of the time. Overall had a good 2 weeks there. Overall it is a good place to stay but the rooms are in serious bad shape.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Okay But... Not What We Expected

2 Week Vacation. After reading the reviews we expected something very different than what we encountered. The resort itself is very well maintained, rooms clean, and employees we very friendly and helpful. However, public bathrooms were always filthy and smelly. We found the food was okay in the buffet -- enough variety to please most tastes ( we loved the Mexican food) however the a la carte restaurants - not so much. We tried the Italian as well as the Brazilian, and didn't enjoy eit [... read more]her, so didn't bother with the others. We found the meat was over cooked, as well as portions very small. Mind you we're from Vancouver, and have a plethora or truly amazing ethnic restaurants to choose from, so we may be pickier than most. It was also disappointing that there were no snack bars outside, and you are not permitted to take food outside of the available snack bar, or restaurants. We saw one women try and take her food outside the restaurant who was basically scolded by an employee for doing so. When I am having a drink, I enjoy a snack, such as peanuts, or pretzels. There were none - even in the snack OR sports bar. In addition there is no beach drink service, so while there are beach bars - up the stairs from the beach, no one comes down to the beach to serve you - unlike most other resorts we have been to. - The safe is an additional $40. - The wifi is sporadic, and works only in the Sports Bar and the Flamingo Lobby. - No refrigerator in room, so the one bottle of water you get each day - stays warm. I enjoyed seeing the iguanas, who roamed freely about. Would I go again? No. Even as a 3 star, I expected more - and compared to other 3 stars it didn't come close, in my opinion.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Excellent Holiday

Loved the new side of this hotel. I have been to Jamaica sooo many times and this resort did not disappoint. Love the addition and option to experience both sides of the hotel. Andrei Jonas is among my favourite employees, who really understands customer service and made the stay superior.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Great resort!

Not your top notch but clean rooms, great oceanviews, close to the hip strip and wonderful staff and good food. Would recommend this resort to friends. Had an amazing vacation!! Top floor ocean view rooms are the best views.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Royal Decameron resort Los Cabo's Mexico

It's a nice resort, it's smaller resort but nice none the less. The rooms are nice and the staff are very friendly. They grounds are kept clean regularly, they also have staff walk the grounds at night which made me feel safe.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Great location!

The hotel was very nice! I would say a 5 star compared to Cuban 5 stars! food was good! Entertainment was fun and staff was friendly! Loved being on the hip strip to walk to and shop during the day and go party at Margaritaville at night! Overall a great trip! The free water sports were a bonus and proximity to everything made it easy to get around

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Great new place!

Brand new place right near airport. Very clean with workers always doing something around the grounds. Large pool and pool bar area. Every room looks at the ocean. Beautiful sand beach right there with easy access . Free wave runner ride, other free equipment to use. We found it to have a large selection of food choices that were very good. Always had a large variety to choose from and was always good. The chef is around and is always willing to discuss his menu and chat with you about food. Ver [... read more]y friendly guy. All the workers there were very friendly and polite. There was mild relaxing entertainment at night in free air area. We were there to celebrate 25 years together and our travel agent Angela must have told them because we were given a room at the east end with a huge balcony and wrap around glass sliders at one end. Awesome room! Thank you! There is the sister resort next door. The place is a little old but makes up for it with all the entertainment shows at night and the party people tend to stay on that side. We have stayed on that side before and loved it. People who stay on that side cant eat or drink at Cornwall side while we can eat drink and use a la carte daily on their side. Pay the extra if you can and stay at Cornwall side. Some good snorkelling there as we saw two big spotted eagle rays daily swimming around. One day one of them jumped right out of the water! Be careful and give that 6 foot tail some room. We would definitely go back. We had an issue with the girls room on first day but the front desk put them in a different one the next day and everything was fine. Lastly, we usually book through red tag. The website is too hard to navigate. We decided to try tripcentral because the website was so easy to navigate and gave us way more choices. The travel agent was outstanding getting us what we wanted. After booking she sent us different useful things and info that red tag never did in the 9 times we booked with them. She also went out of her way to help us and we will use her again next time for sure.

It is a well maintained property.The staff is so friendly and helpful.The food is hot and tasty with lots of options.It is not a 5 star but very clean with all amenities.We have stayed here many times and will return at a later date.The small town of Bucerias offers some great dining options.Beach is great for walking with nice sand.I find this resort and area very safe.Hope this helps and I am looking forward to winning a free trip.LOL

Grand Decameron Panama: Home away from Home

Our family has been coming to the Royal Decameron for about 11 years sometimes 3 times a year and it has become our home away from home. This trip I came down with my 84 year old mother who has never been to Panama and she loved it. Right from booking with Eliana Anton, who was most helpful, friendly, and efficient, through to our departure at the other end, with caring airport personnel (as my mother uses a walker), our trip was a delight. Treatment by airport and customs personnel on arri [... read more]val back in Canada was another story - harsh and unhelpful - but that's beyond the scope of this review. Riu Hat airport arrival: very long wait to get through customs and be processed for the buses to the hotel. Perhaps more personnel would alleviate this problem. I had requested an Ocean front room in the 1400 block on the first floor due to infirmities and was please to get exactly what I asked for. The rooms are fairly basis, but I knew this from past visits and they were kept very clean. My only complaints about the rooms are 1) there should be grab bars in the bathrooms by the toilet or at least in the shower. It made it difficult for my mother. A bathtub would be nice as well. 2) We had a room that was adjoining to 1415 and you could hear everything being said in the next room through the adjoining door. They played their music so loud we had to call security. Security was very efficient and rectified the situation immediately. Unfortunately, you could hear even a pin drop in the next room - need sound proofing. We visited El Canal, Café Mediterranean, Atlantico, Pacifico, and Mezcal during our stay. All were lovely, but Mezcal needs to work on ambience and service. We were seated under a speaker which blared music, so bad I asked if they could turn it down. The music came in crackley as well and made for an unpleasant dining experience. The chairs were plastic and uncomfortable and the service was so slow - we had to ask for coffee 3 times before getting it. Otherwise all our dining experience were very good. We enjoyed beautiful restful days on the beach and mainly the Pacifico pool area. My only comment about the pool areas now is that they have crammed so many lounge chairs together in all of the pool areas that it actually very uncomfortable wedging in somewhere. The pool at Sushi Samba used to be my favourite, but it has way too many loungers with no room in between so unfortunately I spent no time there this time. Even along what we called the lagoon area with the very shallow water was lined with loungers which I felt was unnecessary. This is a big change from previous visits. One observation my mother made was how clean and well-maintained the property was. She was so impressed with its beauty and how hard the personnel worked to keep it that way. Her only complaint was the constant loud music - she would have enjoyed some quiet moments with only the sound of the birds and the waves. From guest services to the jitney drivers, they were extremely helpful - especially with my mother and her walker - and very friendly. We were delighted with everyone at the hotel. We went on one excursion, the half Panama Canal cruise from Gamboa to Panama City, and the tour desk with very efficient and helpful. We had one of the best tour guides I've ever had, Juventino Juarez, who was extremely knowledge about his country and others. His fluency in Spanish, French, and English was impressive. The cruise was a highlight - very interesting and exciting. The day of our departure the bus driver came to our door and asked when we'd like to be picked up and came right on the dot. We were sad to leave. My mother is usually ready to get home from vacation after a week, but really had the desire to stay on. Thank you Nolitours for an excellent vacation experience (again!).

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Average at best

This was not our first time to the Royal Decameron and if you want average food and drinks this is the place to be. We sent a room request weeks prior to our arrival - not honoured. In order to change rooms you need to be without a room for over 4 hours! They now provide shampoo and conditioner in your room which is new. The employees are always hard at work. The buffet needs to have more variety, the theme nights start to blend together after 2 weeks. Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Stunning resort

If only for the vibrant colors, this resort would earn the label "stunning." But it deserves this label for many more reasons: the helpful staff, the numerous pools, the fabulous restaurants, and the gorgeous setting on a two km beach. The resort is crowded by other buildings on every side, yet it maintains its character. The five buildings are attractive and the rooms are very clean. This place is incredibly popular. It seems if half of Mexico was holidaying there. Tents were set up right up to the water line, except right in front of the resort which maintains a little privacy that way, so that people could enjoy some protection from the sun and even sleep there. Not a room was available anywhere in Guayabitos during those few days that we were there. The rooms for the most part are small but adequate. Those in Building 4, where we were, are large and less noisy, although one night a band played across the street until midnight. We were there with another couple. The hotel was unable to give us rooms that were side-by-side but were still near each other. The food was excellent and plentiful, even if it was not haute cuisine. All of us enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service was great, with special credit to "Alex" who went over board in her helping us.

Grand Decameron Panama: Great resort

This was a great resort for what we paid. Do not go here if you are unable to walk. Tons of walking up and down hills. We loved our excursions and the guides were all amazing Joanne, Manuel, is what, Andreas. Our bar tender Felix was the best .The only complaint I would have is I did not like booking my dinners for the buffet. I have never had to do that before.

Grand Decameron Panama: Beautiful Resort!

The grounds were beautiful! It was so hot but the weather was perfect everyday! Buffets were great but didn't like the restaurants. Nice clean rooms friendly staff! Lots and lots of stairs but not a problem for us at all but seemed people weren't made aware of this.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Good resort.

Good basic resort. Not quite as clean as everyone seems to suggest but I may be more picky. Maids seem a bit inconsistent at times. Pools are good but the poolside chairs are very uncomfortable.(except cocos 5 pool which has new and better comfortable chairs) Food was the same at almost all restaurants with some differences here and there. Al la carte was better. Bar by the Mexican restaurant was very good and not as busy. Bar by the buffet was not as good and service lacking. Bar at the La Bamb [... read more]a was very good. La Bamba bar also has a cappuccino machine coffee etc. Coffee over all was not fantastic but it passed for us. There are other options nearby if you wish to purchase it. Be weary of the store across from main hotel entrance incorrect change given back from purchase and no prices on most goods in their store.

Grand Decameron Panama: !!Marvellous Family Vacation!!

We were there Apr 17-24. Fantastic that it's only a 5 min drive from the airport to the hotel! Beautiful location! Spacious and lovely room! We were in condo 43, we loved being next to lobby 3! Fantastic variety of swimming pools. Pacific Ocean is not kid-friendly most days, but our family of four (2 adults + kids ages 10 + 12) still enjoyed long walks on the beach, and playing in the surf. We are vegetarian so mostly stuck to buffets; tried the Italian restaurant and loved it! Have never eaten such delicious pineapple and papaya!!!! Would move there just to eat those fruits!!! Panama is **very** hot and sunny - took what we thought was extra sunscreen and ended up buying 2 more bottles!! Please take note: this is an EXCEPTIONALLY large property, you will need to walk A LOT --- which we love. But, we would not recommend this location for people in wheelchairs or solo travellers with a stroller. 'Ramps' are steep and only saw one wheelchair ramp. Serge the transat rep described the Panamanian people as 'shy', which I would agree with. Don't go here if you expect VIP/hoity toity service. Friendly and kind staff, but not over the top attentive in the dining room -- we often waited long periods to order coffee or dinner drinks. We started calling it the Bermuda Triangle drink experience. But the bar service at pools and at towel service was kind and quick. We did the one day Panama Canal and city trip. Was well worth the money. Dream come true for us! The Panama Canal viewing deck is packed -- make sure to pack an extra dose of patience waiting to take pics there. We went off the resort a few times to check out the local gift shops and supermercados - good prices and interesting to see the area. On beach side we enjoyed having drinks at "Pipa's Beach". We would definitely return to this resort, next time for a 10 day stay! If you like walking, beautiful birds, iguanas, beautifully groomed walkways etc etc ignore the bad reviews and try this special place!

Nice small size hotel/resort. No waiting in line for anything. Great food. Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Evening shows were a bit lame. Hip Strip was underwhelming. Lots of pushy vendors. Hired a taxi for a non scheduled day trip to Negril. Well worth the money. Highlight of the trip. Have lunch at the "Canoe" beachside restaurant. Best food of the week and they make Ceasars!

Our group of four stayed here April 15 2017 for a week I would just like to say every room faces the ocean Food was fantastic didn't need to eat anywhere else the selection was great Rooms very clean and roomy Staff always pleasent and greeted you with smiles and hellos always Hotel director Monica always around to answer questions or take comments Pool large and very clean Hotel interior and exterior cleaned each day all day long Would return in a heart beat

Very clean Amazing food Outside was very well kept Service was great Friendly staff Beautiful scenery Entertainment was enjoyable, felt safe with security on hand , close to airport . Only complaint is there is no clocks around the hotel or alarm clocks in the bedrooms.

The resort was over all great. Food was good 😊 rooms are clean and the resort is nice and compact. Unfortunately there is no day entertainment of any kind. There is no activities. No drink of the day ... no games ... no nothing. There is a band over supper that is nice( same one for 7 days).and a singer and band ( same one for 7 nights). But truly that is all that needs to be changed. Everyone is happy and wonderful... go have fun
