Ocean Coral Spring: Great Stay

beautiful new hotel. very modern. a few kinks to work out as being brand new but the amazing staff offsets that issue. stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. recommend and will stay there again.

Playa Vista Azul: Family vacation...disappointing stay at hotel

This was our 5th trip to Cuba, our first to Varadero, likely our last. We are not picky eaters, we've never had problems finding something to eat at other resorts. However, this was not the case here. The buffet was horrible. Not many options and the food was always cold. For the most part, service in the buffet restaurant was quite slow. There were times we did not even receive water at breakfast or lunch. Beach: Left side of the resort - the beach is cramped. The beach area is narro [... read more]w and there few quite a few huts. The right side beach - a further walk, but much more comfortable to hang out at. Pros: - Ariel at the Beach Restaurant - He is wonderful. He works hard to keep everyone happy. - always found chairs at beach and pool - spacious rooms - friendly staff Cons: -only 2 options for lunch - main buffet or beach buffet - snack bar was a joke. Burgers & hotdogs only. Service was extremely slow. It shouldn't take 20 minutes to get a burger - Mike's Coffee - hit and miss - sometimes coffee was great, other times not even drinkable - most bathrooms had issues, either doors that didn't lock or were not cleaned often - bathroom in hotel room could be more private. Glass wall in shower - not ideal for kids who are sharing a room There are areas of the hotel that are in need of maintenance. Side note - the airport was a complete disaster when we left. We arrived 3 hours prior to our departure. Arrived at 12:10 for a 3:10 flight. We finally made it through security at 2:30 and had to go straight to the gate as the plane was already boarding. Flight was delayed leaving because there were so many passengers still waiting to get through immigration. Like I previously said, we will not return to this hotel or recommend it to friends. We would much prefer to go back to Holguin or Cayo Coco.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful resort

Really nice room and bathroom,dining room was great meal was not always great. Swimming pool was awesome. It was far from the airport two hours on the bus. The ocean was amazing. It’s a big resort, we walk a lots . The personals was very nice. The foodmenu of the excursion wasn’t exactly the same. It was disappointing salmon instead of lobster.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Nice resort with some downfalls.

The resort grounds are very nice and well kept by the friendly Garden staff. The building is also very nice and clean for the most part but is showing signs of wear and tear in the rooms such as dirty areas on doors and trim, a bit of mold in the bathtub corners and tile grout, broken patio door lock and patio furniture etc. They sometimes have issues with laundry and towels and run into shortages here and there. The a la carte restaurants are Oriental, Italian and Gourmet. The food at all thre [... read more]e was pretty good. There is also a Privilege restaurant which was good. The main buffet was OK. Lots of selection but lackluster in taste. The cakes and desserts all look so delicious but very bland. The pasta bar is a good option and made for you at time of request with three types of pasta to choose from, three sauces and a variety of ingredients to add. I only saw ketchup and mustard as far as condiments go. No steak sauce or BBQ etc. The restaurant by the beach is also very decent. The snack bar at the main pool had a long wait for our food and it was so-so. Don't be fooled when the menu says french fries as 90% of the time they don't actually have any. As far as getting their CUC currency you can get it at the airport or the hotel. The hotel rarely had small change making it hard for us to tip the maids and wait staff at meals. We ended up withdrawing money from the bank in Havana for small change for tipping as the resort was unreliable. If you purchase cigars make sure to do so from a legitimate store and not an employee at the resort as you will most likely be sold fake Cohibas because they think you won't know any better. The staff overall is very friendly and the Butlers in the privilege section are fantastic and very attentive. The Privilege pool is private, quiet and not crowded at all. We preferred this to the main pool that was crowded and noisy. The beach is nice but not the greatest. Lots of loungers and shade access but the Privilege section has big rocks and makes it dangerous for swimming in that area. The regular section has no rocks but a lot of seashells washed up making it not ideal for walking barefoot at risk of being cut on the sharp shells. Overall is was a decent stay with a few hiccups here and there.

Playa Vista Azul: Friendly Resort

The resort was super clean and very nice staff. I went with three other friends and had a lot of fun. There was always fun music around the resort. The beach was really nice and very well kept. Would recommend for a couples trip.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Resort was ok

The hotel itself was nice. The people are super friendly and always smiling. Would rather of had a piece of cardboard to eat than the food. We were unable to get towels and clean bedding for a few days as there was issues with the laundry. Also was unable to get currency from reception if needed, the kept saying that the bank hasn't been yet. Personally I would not stay at this resort again

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good Value For Your Money

This hotel was fairly good for the price we paid. The pools and beach were clean with good sitting areas. The staff was friendly but reception was rarely helpful and we had a hard time getting bottled water the entire time. The food at the resort was better than expected which was a pleasant surprise. Overall I would definitely recommend the hotel to a friend :)

Playa Vista Azul: Vista Azul - unfortunately we got sick

Lobby pool area was excellent. People are very nice. Food was okay. Trying to be reasonable as this is Cuba. Unfortunately out of 4 people three of us ended up with what appeared to be food poisoning. It was hard to see my son vomit on and off for 12 hours. My wife got sick twice and I did once. Hotel grounds were well kept. Hygiene in the Buffett restaurant and service is an issue. You have to wait to get someone to give you cutlery and coffee for quite a while. Tables are not prope [... read more]rly cleaned and the wait staff do not even wipe the tables down after the last guest. Hard to get clean beach towels everyday. Beaches are excellent.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great time!

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Rooms are older and dated. Food was great but inconsistent. Only Red wine for 1 day of the trip which was disappointing but that's how it is in Cuba. Great snorkeling from the beach was awesome.

Ocean Blue and Sand: A good resort

The resort was really nice. The room was very spacious and very clean. The bedding was change every day and along with fresh towels in the bathroom. The bathrooms need to be upgraded but everything was functioning. The restaurants offer a wide variety International food. The main restaurant buffet what's an excellent choice also. The grounds and pools we're amazing with swim-up bars at both the large pools. As for the beach area in front of the resort it is nothing like the pictures in their ad  [... read more]as it has been washed away by storms. And they have put man made barriers in the water to protect what is left of the shoreline. There is still lot of beach area to both the left and right of the resort. Overall we were pleased with the resort. It is a good value for your money.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Heavenly Beach

Our first time in Cuba, and first all inclusive. Resort was beautiful, clean, and had amazing friendly staff for the most part. GreT pools, beach. Could use a few more chairs at the beach. Avoid a la carte restaurants. These were a big disappointment. At the buffet stick to hot food stations where they cook it while you wait. These were much better than the main buffet selections. Loved Mikes coffee shop. Enjoyed cappuccino 24/7.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Incredible vacation

The staff went above and beyond! Decorated our room for my husbands birthday! Always smiling happy and ensuring our day was great! Grounds were very well kept. Pools were gorgeous . Buffet was great . Only downside was that a few a la cartes were closed each night . Otherwise everything was wonderful - love the new ice cream hut!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort

Was at the Oceans Riviera in Feb /20 and had a great time.The resort was fabulous and the staff were very helpful and friendly.The food was good and the entertainment was second to none.The pools were well kept and the grounds were spotless.There is nothing bad at this resort and I definitely would go back.Some people complain just to hear themselves complain so have fun and go with an open mind.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Amazing Resort

I thought the resort was outstanding on all issues and aspects except the chairs around the swimming pool and ocean. They were old and outdated and too low to the ground for some people too. The restaurant, activities and service was fantastic.

Playa Vista Azul: Ocean Vista Azul

We enjoyed everything about the resort except for the beer. We are all beer drinkers and none of us liked the beer which tastes skunky. The beach was beautiful and the food was great!! We truly enjoyed our relaxing week.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Good Resort, lots to do , February is a great time to go

Grounds were well kept. Food at the Buffet was plentiful, great variety, always hot. We went to the Steak Restaurant, food was cold, steak was tough, the Italian Restaurant, not dishes we would eat more like a sampling than a dinner, however Route66, the Japanese Restaurant and the Buffet were fantastic. Nighttime shows were good. Lots to eat and drink. A couple of things that could be improved, a notice advising which Restaurants were closed on which nights and smaller forks at all the t [... read more]ables, one fork was normal the other was huge. Staff was always friendly. I would recommend this resort to others but let them know which restaurants to eat in. Coffee and Ice Cream Shops were a daily visit

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Cant compare this to other Ocean by H10 resorts

Its a nice and very typical Cuba experience. A little worn down resort, service is only good when you tip well and overall hotel layout is a bit weird. If you are looking for a "quick and dirty" vacation option, that's your place. I would suggest adding a bit more money and going to Ocean by H10 in Cancun - a much superior place!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great vacation

This resort was beautiful. The rooms and everywhere actually was super clean. The staff were so friendly. The food....well I know you don't go to Cuba for the food, that being said it wasn't wonderful. It wasn't bad. I feel like they do the best with what they have and they are having trouble getting many items that I feel like they were getting years ago when I was there. So I do recommend this hotel as I feel it's not a hotel problem. Beaches are beautiful .

Playa Vista Azul: Not a 5 star!

The resort was clean, but not as new as our agent told us. At times service was quite slow. Food was subpar, but I hear that is just Cuba. But overall we had a good week in the sun!! Staff was very friendly along with all the people we met on our adventures.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Loved it!

We travelled with our almost 4-year old and our 6 month old baby. We had a wonderful vacation at Ocean Coral. Everything was great! My favourite parts are as follows: 1. Family oriented. The kids pool was an awesome place to hang out. My son loved the waterslides and playground. There's a snack bar and bar right beside, and we spent most of our time here. The beach is so close so we could go between the kids pool and the beach all day long. The daisy club sticks to their rules about only [... read more] taking kids over the age of 4, but were happy to have my son participate in activities as long as we were somewhere near by. Indy and Irene were lovely and put on fun events for the kids in the evenings too. 2. The entertainment team were awesome. Shout out to Andrea who was so friendly and engaged with us and the kids throughout our stay. The shows were really fun with high quality performances. 3. OCT is attempting to reduce single use plastics. They use reusable cups at the bars and collect them afterward, no straws are offered. I have never seen this at a resort and was pleasantly surprised. The places is spotlessly clean too. The beach was lovely. The buffet was beyond our wildest dreams. The restaurants were all good. The activities were fun. The resort is small enough to be walkable but big enough to keep you entertained for a week, even if you don't leave. We loved it and would definitely go back.
