Iberostar Coral Holguin: First Solo Vacation
Iberostar Coral was smaller than I expected, but in the best way—it felt cozy, safe, and super friendly. As a woman traveling by myself, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the staff and guests made me feel totally comfortable from day one. Being connected to the Selections resort was a bonus: I could wander over for bigger crowds, more restaurants, and evening entertainment, then come back to the calm vibe at Coral. The public beach across the bridge was gorgeous and easy to get to. Shout-o [... read more]
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Excellent beach
Been here numerous times and will return for the beach. The hotel needs a lot of TLC, unfortunately. Grounds are maintained and the vegetation is nice. If you book premium you have separate area at the beach and pool, plus few other advantages. Staff is amazing.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Our romantic getaway.
The beach was amazing. The food was okay, there were options of chicken, lamb and beef. I would have liked a little more of a fruit selection but I did not go hungry. The resort gave us a complimentary lobster dinner which was very much appreciated. They are guys just off the resort with horse and carriage. We went on a ride for an hour and it only cost $20. Make sure you bring your bug spray, I was covered in bites. I would pack toilet paper too. Seems like they are short of something on it [... read more]
Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Great new resort
If you want to relax and just enjoy the beach with good value, this is a good option. It's Cuba, food is limited and sometimes runs out but from what I ate they were pretty good. The service is good, they try their best. The rooms are nice, the resort is quite new. Overall great beach. The water is so calm and so easy to spot fish. Bring floaties! I went first week of September and the weather was perfect. However bug spray is a must. So many mosquitos!
Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Amazing resort!
Just came back Thursday from 1 week. Great little resort for the cost. Staff were excellent, hotel and rooms clean, food was what you would expect for Cuban fare. Nothing over the top but we didn’t go hungry or thirsty and got plenty of rest and relaxation. Tom of Bali beds and loungers everywhere.
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Leaky bathroom and
I have been to Cuba few times and normally love everything - beaches, atmosphere, service, and food. This unfortunately was not a great experience. The room had strange smell and the bathroom ceiling was leaking with puddle of water on the ground. Since the phone service was down, I went to customer service on four different occasions, they promised to fix the problem but nothing was done. Food was as expected and servers were amazing. Main buffet was better than the Sanctuary restaurant.
Grand Memories Varadero: This is my 4th time staying here, and it won't be my last.
The check-in process was efficient and help getting to my room was ample. The staff were all very friendly, especially Mayren Jimenez who was particularly helpful with my a la carte bookings and getting me help to get into my room safe. I had a beautiful view of the ocean from my room and it was very clean and quiet. I can't wait to come back here.
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Bring Snacks!
We didn't have high expectations for the resort, as it was a ridiculously cheap all inclusive resort. After we booked the vacation, there was a note that said the resort is suffering shortages. That was an understatement, didn't have much in the line of alcohol unless it was rum. The food wasn't great, we ate a lot of buttered buns. The staff was amazing, kind, polite, and courteous, all ways smiling and helping. The hotel was dated, but clean, even though the bus guide said "it's the second new [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great time
Fantastic vibe at this hotel. Clean rooms Great layout Incredible staff everywhere on the resort Food options all over Great beach Different pool options Fantastic entertainment staff We unanimously knew after 24 hours that we would be coming back to this hotel. ( there was 3 of us different ages in 3 separate rooms)
Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort
Grounds were well maintained and clean. Rooms, restaurants, restrooms hotel all were clean and well maintained as well. The only negative thing I would have to say is at the beach on the weekends the locals come, which as they should joy the beautiful beach, but they leave all their beer cans bottles all over the beach and in the water.
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Complete disappoint, AVOID
I've been to Cuba 15 times, this was my 16th trip. Complete disaster I paid same amounts for other hotels but gigantic difference between this and the others bad room service dirty rooms which were not cleaned every day cockroaches in room as for the food it was a complete disaster restaurants same problem breakfast was okay but the rest were terrible ,unfortunately I ruined my well-deserved trip by going to this hotel . To top it all I had to pay almost $110 baggage fee back and forth . Please b [... read more]
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: not for me
The resort itself wasn't too bad, everything was close, but did not like the service, the mosquitos were terrible, the food, forget it, you're eating the same thing over and over again, the rooms old, will not recommend this resort.
Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Amazing hotel
Rooms are very nice and clean, food was delicious, excellent service, very friendly staff .Lobby, coffee area buffet,Mediterranean restaurant, snack bar everything is modern and very nice interior, pools are great for kids and breathtaking beach.
Hotel Playa Paraiso: 11th Visit
After so many visits, I obviously love the place. It had been a year and a half since my last visit, so there was definitely change in staff, which I expected in Cuba these days. Some of my favorites are still there and always treat us with such genuine kindness. My favorite lobby bartender, Marcos, who has been there since my first visit. He's so professional and amazing at his job! Two more favorites are now at the snack bar. Orlando who makes the absolute best Pina Coladas and is a kind soul [... read more]
Resonance Musique Varadero: Had a good time
Ok so my experience in this resort was pretty good up until the last day when a girl came up to us in the pool and asked if she could stay with us because one of the workers wouldn't leave her alone even after she told him she wasn't interested in him in English and Spanish. He just kept sitting by her and following her it was very creepy .We told the pool bartender and he came and got him and put him to work somewhere else but within an hour he was back to stalking her again it was very creepy [... read more]
Occidental Arenas Blancas: Don't waste your money
It's the worst hotel on the peninsula. I don't recommend it. The buffet has no air conditioning and all the windows are sealed. Not to mention the terrible food. Be prepared to eat ground beef; that's what they offer every day: fish with tons of bones and chicken bones. The staff does everything in their power to provide you with good service, but the place is ready to be shut down. If you don't want to waste your money, don't go to this hotel.
Sanctuary White Sands: New and Beautiful Hotel
This was a fantastic hotel. Service was exceptional, the beach was amazing, the sand was fine and soft and the ocean water was always a beautiful turquoise colour. As this is a new hotel, everything was in great condition including the grounds, the rooms, and even the bed was exceptionally comfortable. A fantastic experience overall.
Hotel Playa Paraiso: Had an amazing week.
Been to this hotel several times. Its under renovation but barely any noise. Not a big variety of food but we can always find something to eat. We were traveling with a 8yrs old. She enjoyed the pizza. The room is spacious, clean, great water pressure. The people are friendly especialy Annelise my go to person for anything we need she does magic. Even if its low season there was entertainement everyday and kids disco. The beach is clean but have corals so water shoes will fix it. The pool is clea [... read more]
