Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Amazing Resort!!!!

The Grounds and the Team working there was GREAT... The food was perfect, lots of great choices... However we did notice that the Adult Only buildings were soon filled with families.. the pools was also quite filled with kids... We love kids, but thought it was an Adult section to the pool. If you go there, make sure you visit the Main bar and ask for Anderson... They make the BEST drinks on the resort

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Fantastic resort

We loved it, it was a bit modern for our normal taste but we absolutely loved it! It was fresh, crisp,clean and the people were amazing!! The Employees treated us excellent and made it fun. The food was great and lots of choices. The beach awesome, the pools greats and rooms nice and comfy!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great resort

Second time around and would go back for a third time. Food was great, service was good,rooms were clean, what more can you ask for. Weather was 30 plus most days and fair entertainment in the evenings.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Relaxing Holiday at large resort

Very clean rooms, beach, washrooms, open areas. Good food at the buffet with lots of variety, preferred the beach restaurant for lunch. Beach was over crowded but beautiful sand if you could find a spot. Plenty of chairs around the pool. Very large resort - easy to walk to everything but there are trolleys to get around for those that find walking too much. Overall good holiday for the price!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Some things to know...

Overall the hotel was beautiful and well organized, with delicious food, engaging entertainment, and stunning beach and pool. My only recommendation is to bring a lock for your luggage to store important items, as 1000 pesos ($33 CA) of mine mysteriously went missing, and we left the Do Not Disturb sign up yet the maid still came in to clean. My other tip is to ask for blankets if you need them to sleep like I do, or else it’s just a sheet. Thankfully reception is open 24 hours (but there are  [... read more]no room phones so get ready to walk). Lastly, the shower heads were pretty broken, and the water wouldn’t heat nor drain. Also, my friend had trouble with her toilet flushing. Like I say, it was overall an enjoyable experience, just be aware of details such as these to prepare for! Happy vacationing!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Simply amazing resortg

Grounds were beautiful. Pools pristine. Plentiful trolleys to take us around. Had a problem with leaky toilet, fixed within an hour. All staff were friendly. Food plentiful. Look forward to returning next year.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great Resort.. Excellent Snorkeling

This resort And grounds are beautiful. The natural beauty of everything from the palm trees, beaches and mountains are breathtaking. The food was very good especially the Brazilian restaurant. The staff just make this place memorable. The best part though is the snorkeling right off the shore. It it just beyond amazing. It is perfect for someone who likes natural beauty, snorkeling and relaxing on the beach.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great Adult Resort !

Super frendly staff, great buffet food, great a la cart restaurants, Super clean rooms and grounds, they don’t waterdown drinks, amazing pool bartenders, ocean was a bit blury because of the river running into it ( bottom sand mixing) not because of dirty water. We knew this going there. Reserving a day snorkel excursion is a must at Catalina island. Speak to Jessica at the hotel, super friendly ! The only negative was the return bus ride , they were late 40 mins,

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beautiful resort!

From the moment we arrived the staff were helpful and efficient. The resort is beautiful, well taken care of and extremely clean. The beach is beautiful golden/white soft sand that extends into the water for great swimming. The food was good, lots of fruit in the morning and some great a la carte at night. All in all a great family destination!

We had the Essentia It's not a real exclusive thing You dont have a real the private access to the beach , only few chairs in front of the beach with a little fenced with a little sign. No supervision on who has the access or not. As for the restaurant , the only advantage is that you need to go see the concierge at the Essenta lounge instead on the main lobby but you don't have exclusivity on the hours and you can only reserve 2 days at the time. The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Just What The Doctor Ordered!

I’ve been eyeing this hotel for some time and I’m super happy I decided to book! If your looking for a super relaxing getaway look no further. The hotel is less than 300 rooms so it’s not crazy crowded. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the Samana Bay is spectacular to look at. I definitely recommend a sea view; was on the second floor overlooking the gazebo and the bridge to nowhere. The food was great; lots of selection and of course your everyday standards; hot dogs, hamburgers and fries. The entertainment team works super hard and loves engaging with the guests; Marcus, Lewis and Yasmin are ROCK STARS! There was bridge maintenance going on during the day but it did NOT impact our relaxing time at the pool or access to the beach. I LOVE that there are so many different areas to this hotel; larger busier pool, small but beautiful beach, LOTS OF STAIRS (free shuttle if you can’t walk), shallower tanning pools and then the smaller swimming pool. The A La Carte restaurants were very good; my favourite was El Pescador (seafood). During our vacation there were very few children; it’s not really a kids hotel. I truly enjoyed my weeks vacation and highly recommend Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa...I will defiantly return!

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Fabulous Resort

We just returned from 1 week at this wonderful resort.The beach is amazing.Well maintained with many cots and huts for shade if needed.Bar onsite . The rooms are comfy and clean.Many restaurants to choose from and we tried them all.Our favourites were the Japanese and the Mexican(best margaritas!) The pool was lovely.Lots of space to swim and relax.Again never a problem finding a cot. very unique very picturesque resort...spotless...friendly staff everywhere...food good you could always find something... few negatives...beach small but clean...beds bad....buffet food needs to be hotter in warming trays....stay away from rooms facing courtyard and town....very loud nightly entertainment....request sea view rooms...spectacular!!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Time, good food.

This hotel is dated inside the rooms, but we are not here to stay inside. Our safe did not work, the phone did not work. you can clearly see it is in need of repair, but when you are just there to sleep it is fine. Beds were comfortable. Food was good, they have a great selection at the buffet. The A la carts were amazing. The beach buffet chicken was a hit and many times would be out and have to wait for a fresh batch.. but worth the wait. The pool and beach, people hog the chairs/beds.. we not [... read more]iced that people went and put towels at the beach and were at the pool. But were still holding both spots. if you talk to the security guard on the beach they will get someone to get you chairs. The locals pushing sales on the beach are annoying when you are trying to relax. All saying they made these products when you know that they did not. The time share/Circleone guys are just as bad when you are trying to walk around the resort. But over all it was a nice visit. The bars, need to be addressed, the one in the lobby is always dead, as it is Paying bar.. and the pool bar service is SLOW.. and the other bar does not open until 6pm, when the pool bar closes. the beach bar is where most ppl end up for service, and that should be addressed. So there is only 2 bars at this resort for everyone

Riu Republica: Riu Repulica

I must say that the Riu chain in Punta Cana is my Favorite . They always do a great job Thanks. I had a wonderful time everything was very well organized and local. Cabs are friendly and priced well. They will wait and not over charge. I am going to go back...

Riu Republica: Very smoky Resort.

Thecastles Feb 2, 14:47 EST I recently stayed at the Riu Republica in the Domincan Repbulic. Very nice resort. But there were a large number of smokers, and no place to go if you were a non-smoker. Good food, service, staff, nice beach. But there were a tremendous amount of smokers. Smoking was encouraged everywhere. There are ashtrays in the lobbies, bars and even in the theatre. I did see some non-smoking areas in 2 bars, but since they were surrounded by smokers, what was the point? Th [... read more]ere was smoking all over the theatre. As a result, we did not see any shows, due to the number of people vaping, and smoking cigarettes and cigars. We tried sitting in the last row outside the theatre, but it too was very smoky. Even the large buffet had a smoking section outside. In short, there was no place to go to if you were a non-smoker. Bars, lobbies, pool area, beach, theatre were full of smoke. We retreated to our room. But since the buildings are not smoke free, guests smoked on their balconies, and of course, the smoke drifted towards us. This might seem petty, but I had an operation for lung cancer a few years ago, so I don't want to be exposed to smoke. My friend quit smoking a year ago,l and was also repulsed by the amount of smoke. I guess we are too used to non-smoking public places in Canada. I think Sunwing should be aware of this and warn future clients.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Can't get enough of this resort!

Majestic Colonial resort was absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. The cleanliness, the food, the entertainment and most importantly the STAFF were absolutely AMAZING! I would especially like to thank my butler David and Daniel and Juan Luis from the Steakhouse as well as Steakhouse management. You all went over and beyond and I can't wait to return. GRACIAS!!!

Ocean El Faro: Nice resort, poor service

This hotel was beautiful and nice and new however the service was very poor. We brought American money to tip and wanted to break it into smaller bills and no one would do it for us. We finally found Manuel at the lobby bar and he was great. He treated us like kings and queens and gave excellent customer service. He really seemed like he loved his job. We also had a hard time getting into the restaurants at night. We would make a reservation and come back for it and they would make us wait for 1 [... read more]0-15 mins longer multiple times. The first night we waited for an hour and a half till 9:45 and then finally walked into the restaurant and forced ourselves in because they closed at 10pm and we were afraid we wouldn’t get dinner. Pools were amazing and lots of them. Lazy river would have been nice except you have to supply your own tubes. Not sure if I would go back.

Ocean El Faro: great resort

My daughter and I arrived on January 26th. We had a wonderful experience. The lobby is breathtaking, so big and beautiful! Can’t event justify it with a picture! As this is a new hotel, we came expecting hiccups, there obviously were somethings that were not perfect; but nothing major they would make us not come back. -The beach is nice but does not have the crystal-clear bright blue water, they need to add more sand in the water, as there is still lots of areas where you are stepping on ro [... read more]cks and weeds, I suggest packing a pool noodle, this allows you to pass the waves/weeds and rocks and enjoy the ocean a bit more. -Be prepared for slow service at meals; they are either understaffed still, or take Island time to the extreme. We had a room 9327 which has a rooftop, this was a beautiful room, the only downfall of these rooftop rooms is they do not have locks on the rooftop doors, which means any of your rooftop neighbours could come in your room. Ensure to have any valuables locked at all times. We requested them to secure our rooftop door any way possible, every day, they would say they would but it was never done. That was our biggest disappointment, as we kind of slept with one eye open every night. I was traveling with my very beautiful 20 year old daughter and did not feel comfortable having her alone in the room. Craftsmanship in the rooms is very sloppy, it was done in a big hurry, caulking and paint drips everywhere, including on the new furniture, even the toilet seats! Shower door in our room did not close, we had to take our showers with the shower door open, we just put a towel on the floor, it was all good, nothing major, but if these types of things bother you, then you might be disappointed. I loved the concept that they have all common places in one area, as you come out of the lobby, everything is there, restaurants, gym, spa, store, sports bar, Showtime, etc, all in one area, they will soon have a small casino and bowling alley open which will be a real nice addition… One of the things that made this trip so memorably is the staff, the employees are great, friendly and will help you with anything you need! Some of the staff are just exceptionally good, just to mention a few: • Manuel Lora - bellboy; • Manuel, Julio and Melissa night staff at the lobby bar; • Luis from Mike’s cafe • Santiago at the beach bar • Gabriel from the lazy river pool bar; If you have a chance to meet these individuals, they are amazing! The entertainment staff are also very good, Chihuahua will definitely make you laugh with his corky ways and his laughter! For the most part, the shows were good, my two favorites were the acrobatic show and the Michael Jackson show which was one of the best I’ve ever seen! Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and would go back, if the prices do not skyrocket.
