Casa Marina Reef Resort: Fun times at Casa Marina Reef

My friends and I had a great week at Casa Marina Reef. My room, although not one of the updated ones, was clean and had a comfy bed. The sea was a bit rough so we spent most of our time at the quiet pool. The grounds were very clean, the staff friendly and the buffet had variety. Check-in was hectic, in part because I lost a wheel from my suitcase, but maintenance staff were very helpful and fixed it for me. Bar service was slow at times but that helped to space out the drinks. Ha Ha!

Riu Republica: Nice Resort

Nice resort but overbooked all the time causing frustration for customers having to be moved to other resorts, this is the second year for this, not acceptable! We requested close to beach as possible, we were returning guests bringing friends, placed us as far from the beach as possible, at least we didn’t have to move to other hotels like a lot of guests, wedding party of 30 people that arrived were split up in several hotels due to overbooking!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great resort for price

Large resort, guests have access to many resorts that are all connected. Theres lots of walking and stairs which was nice for our group to get to explore. There are shuttles as well though. Lots of great pools, a long stretch of beach and lots of options for food. We upgraded our room to a garden suite and it was gorgeous, especially compared to the rest in our group. It was $100 more and included a VIP wristband, but that really only got you access to one more section, but included free WiFi th [... read more]ere and sushi bar... The rest of the VIP beaches are just for the time shares. Still recommend

Caribe Deluxe Princess: PERFECTION

LOVED LOVED LOVED RECOMMED TO NEIGHBOUR AND THEY BOOKED FOR TWO WEEKS LEAVING NEXT FRIDAY BEACH SERVICE AND FOOD VERY GOOD ESPECIALLY FRIED CHICKEN AND NACHOS ANIMATION DEPT ARE FULL OF LIFE. Night entertainment very good LOVE THE DANCERS

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Overall, nice place

The resort is massive. Be prepared for lots of walking. You have access to multiple restaurants you can book reservations with. The main buffet at the Pearl is pretty basic, not the best food, but serves it’s purpose. Our room was cleaned every day, and the staff was very polite and friendly. Overall we had a nice experience. Not sure if we would necessarily go again to this resort, but don’t let that deter you.

Paradise Playa Dorada: 4 star resort with 5 star food

We enjoyed our stay at Grand Paradise. The beach was great & snorkelling. Could have used more shade on beach. Also nightly activities need drastic improvement. Staff were amazing. Food was fantastic.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Excellent resort

This resort is beautiful. We stayed in the adults only club section and it was well with the upgrade. Although we were told that the resort was full, we never waited for a table or had any difficulty finding a lounger at the beach or pool. Service in all areas was top-notch. Loved our butler, Orlando, who took every opportunity to enhance our stay. We will return and definitely recommend this resort

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Iberostar Domicana January 2019

We visited the Iberostar Dominicana from January 24 to January 31, 2019. The resort is a 30 minute drive from the Punta Cana airport. There are two sides to the resort - the Dominicana side and the Punta Cana side, which are essentially mirror images of each other. We had a garden view room in the Dominicana side of the resort which means that our room was accessed from the interior garden courtyard. It was a short stroll from our room to the pools area and then another short stroll to the beach. The entire grounds of the resort are meticulously groomed. Food at the resort is fresh but quite bland, as is to be expected at an all inclusive. Entertainment is good with two main events every night - the Teatro side features a large cast with a variety of shows with live music, dancers and singers, while the Star Band Stage is a smaller venue focused on largely latin music on stage assisted by the entertainment crew - on the ground - who circulate through the audience ensuring that anyone who wants to dance has a capable partner. The entertainment Crew work their tails off as it is their job to ensure that patrons enjoy the evening entertainment as well as participating in the daily aqua fit, volleyball, or dance lessons through the day. These folk work 12 days on and have 3 days off - so they earn their tips honestly. The weather for our stay was excellent - 7 days of 28 to 30 Celsius and blue skies. We did one excursion - para sailing - but it was a 30 minute van ride in a very sketchy van to a sketchy beach to a sketchy para sailing crew. My advice is pay the extra 20 USD and do the Para sailing at the resort. Our package was with Air Canada vacations, and while the price was good their so-called "Price Drop Guarantee" is totally misleading since it is almost impossible to qualify for it. Another misleading aspect of the AC Vacation is the so-called $500 resort coupons. An example is that there is, let's say, a $20 coupon for a $120 spa massage; however, if you talk to the person at the spa they'll give you the massage for $90 cash (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). This vacation exceeded our expectations and was better than our previous vacations to Antigua (Sugar Ridge) and Cuba (Melia Caya Coco)

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Very Small Intimate Resort

GROUNDS: Very clean and well manicured. Public areas and bathrooms were the best kept of any of the 25 plus all inclusive resorts I have been to. Free internet throughout the resort but very slow. FOOD: Probably the worst of any resort (even 2.5 star resorts) due to lack of selection, cold, taste, over salted, poor quality orange juice tasting like powdered drink, wife being denied access as staff deemed her coverup was not appropriate but was dressed the same as most others. Most staff wer [... read more]e pleasant but it was obvious that many were not happy working there. Loved the fact that there were not long lineups as in most other hotels. POOL: Very clean and well maintained, Most loungers were in very poor shape due to broken webbing. They needed to be claimed by 7:30 am or you were out of luck for the rest of the day as there were not enough for all that needed them. Several umbrellas were broken but they were fixed during our stay. Pool bar didn't open for specialty coffee until 8 am. On most days, there was a competition between the music system at the entertainment area and the cigar bar. You couldn't understand either as they drowned each other out. Foam party was awesome. Far too many promotors constantly walking around trying to sell massages, photography etc. Service was very slow with only 1 bartender. ROOM: Junior suite was very large and well cleaned. Beds need to be replaced as they were saucer shaped - kept rolling to the centre. Pillows uncomfortable. the air conditioner broke down twice at night but was fixed soon after reporting the problem. On one night the smoke detector started beeping throughout the night. It was fixed quickly also. Lost 3 nights sleep due to these problems. OTHER: Great beach. Very good Sunwing reps. Hotel is conveniently close to a mini mall and a beach market. Not a big fan of locals being allowed into the hotel. I missed having a large lobby with a bar where guests could gather and have a drink and socialize. I thought the entertainment started too late at 10:00 pm. Some of the entertainment and promotion staff acted EXTREMELY inappropriately with some single female guests (both in words and actions).

Ancora Private Residence Yacht Club and Marina: Beautiful resort

This resort was beautiful, the grounds were well maintained and the pools were amazing. The suites were large and in excellent condition. Housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping the fridges well stocked. There were 5 restaurants in total, the buffet was open for breakfast and lunch and the food was great. The other restaurants were great, but the Italian restaurant was very disappointing in regards to the selection. There were only 2 shops that were open on the grounds, the others remained clos [... read more]ed the entire week. When we arrived we were greeted by staff, and invited on a tour for the next morning. We were told it would be a 2 hour tour, it ended up being over 3 hours and we were not taken on a tour of amenities available to us as guests, but a tour of what would be available as owners if we decided to buy a unit. That was very disappointing. However, the resort in general was great, and if you are looking for peace and quiet, than this is a great place to go. Nightly entertainment was not the greatest, but we weren't there for the entertainment, but to relax.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: loved it amazing place to go for a holiday.

Everything was so great the staff were so friendly they made you feel very welcome. They were always happy went out there way.They were great with the kids always making them laugh and a smile on everyone face

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Vacation

This was a beautiful vacation. Food was good, beach was great, room was nice, staff was all pleasant and friendly, enjoyed meeting other vacationers. I have only one complaint and that was the fact that our room had an adjoining door to someone else's room and you could literally hear every word and every toilet flush! Other than that it was perfect and I would not hesitate to go to this resort again!

Playabachata Hotel: Great Value

Great food and resort. Beautiful walking paths and well looked after beaches. It is a large resort with lots of amenities. Maximum numbers of floors to climb is two. There are about 1000 rooms in 125 units.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Amazing resort. Always clean, great food, lots of variety😎

We had a bit of a rough start at first. But once we got the rooms all settled things went along well Staff were very polite & pleasant Lots of variety on things going on. The beach is great, loved watching all the kite boarding. I would recommend this resort to anyone. Would definite consider going back.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Fabulous

Although this resort isn't completely finished...they need artwork and signage, it was spectacular. Food was excellent no matter where we went. The buffet needs signs as to what everything is as some things are not what you expect or contain seafood etc.One of our group was gluten free and had no issues at all. Lots of loungers and pool towels but this will change as the hotel gets busier. Right now you can help yourself to towels and don't have to sign up for a la cartes but that will change so [... read more]on. Found the shops okay but didn't have rum for sale, which I thought was odd. Buy your souvenirs from the guys with booths on the beach to the right of the hotel, coffee at the shops at the hotel and rum at the airport(for half the price on the beach) Don't want to say too many good things or too many people will book....

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Fun Time

The hotel staff where all friendly and accommodating . Hotel was situated close to airport. Beach was very good for walking and enjoying watching the wind kites and sailing. Food was very good above expectations. My wife and I will stay at this place again.

Playabachata Hotel: Playabachata Resort

The hotel was everything we wanted in a relaxing beach vacation. The staff is amazing and so friendly. Loved every minute. The food was great too. There a lots of activities if you wish to participate or just relax and enjoy the scenery. We can’t wait to return.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Stunning resort

The grounds were beautifully maintained. Landscaping was impeccable. Rooms were extremely spacious and modern. Hector our butler was amazing & helpful. Food was amazing -esp Steakhouse & Seaside Grill. Main issue was the humidity in the bedroom and the smell of sewage coming out of the shower drain ( swimup suite ).

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: amazing resort

we go back in a minute they are so professional special thanks to entertainment crew especially randy it is the best hotel we have ever stayed in and we have gone to alot of places over time i would recommend this resort to anyone had a great stay

Riu Republica: Great resort

We loved the rui ! Food was great, lots of choices. The bars are fast! No extra long lines The beach is nice,but the chairs re really crammed together and no easy way to get around, as palalpas are very close together and no clear isles, also have planted many small palms with this area. Red flag is usually out, but this did not deter many.. also a hundred yd trek through loose sand, if you have mobility issues this would be a hard trek Jerk hut on beach is good for snacks, burgers and hot do [... read more]gs, chicken is fantastic If you are a NON smoker, this resort is NOT for you! Smoking everywhere, lobby, bars, beach and all walkways. Riu does not discourage non smoking, as there are very few areas non smoking.. we had to leave the theatre, as it was really smoky, half enclosed but mostly outside. I would Not recommend this hotel to my non smoking friends
