Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Downhill

Grounds and room were good We. Stayed at the same hotel 2 years ago and they have cut down in all areas., food,staff, bar etc. There were 13 of my family on both trips and they all noticed this hotel has cheapened in every way. Also, the music on the beach was annoying every day. I would like to remain anonymous and not give my email address to anyone PS 11 of 13 of our group had upset stomachs for days.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Enjoyable

Grounds were very clean. We had a penthouse suite and were very happy with it. The snack bar food is limited and very cold. Bar service was good except on the beach. An hour late for the beach bar to open. Trolley service is fantastic. Buffet dinner is repetitive, but always something to chose from. Coffees were endless and delicious. It was an enjoyable holiday, but Couples Jamaica is our fist love.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great place!

The Azul Fives is an excellent property. It's well maintained, clean and staffed to the max. The food was quite good- especially the Italian Restaurant. The beach is beautiful but rocky out in front. A quick walk one way or the other provides easy access.We were surprised that more guests didn't visit the Skybar later in the day. It's gorgeous at sunset and into the evening. We found, despite there being many staff, our requests or issues didn't get passed onto the appropriate people and felt  [... read more]on occasion that the left hand didn't know what the right had was doing. We were also given mis-information regarding a tour destination that left us frustrated and scrambling to salvage our day. The most frustrating part of our holiday that could be managed better by the hotel is in dealing with the availability of chairs. Guest would claim chairs first thing in the morning and you wouldn't see anyone all day or at least for hours on end leaving other guests sitting on pool decks and stairs. The hotel needs to develop a system that removes towels and personal belongings that have been left unattended for more than an hour. The is a MUST and look forward to checking back on later reviews to see that this is being addressed.

Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: Great place

All good no disappintments a little too far from the airport Staff were very friendly and approachable Variety of restaurants was excellent and even the buffet was a good choice for dinner beach and pools had ample space eve for such a big resort.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Nice place but,,,,,,,

The hotel is very nice. It has very nice beaches, waters and the rooms are very clean. The good is better than most. So what is the problem with this place? In one word there "cheap" everyone is friendly but no one can help you. They all smile but don't expect much. The hot tub is only hot after 12 noon. They promise you new beach towels everyday, good luck with that. Don't do the room upgrade it's not worth the money. You will weight in line for the beach buffet restaurant, what's up with that [... read more]?This tells me that from the top down, that being the family that owns the some 66 resorts. That there cheap and it's passed all the way down the line to you/me the customer. There are much nicer places to go for the same money. So before you buy into this one, have a good look around.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Amazing Resort

Not happy re: booking the dinners in the evening.. I go to book the first day and they tell me they are full to come back.. came back to desk 3 to 4 times! I did not know that people where booking them on line and when you went to eat the place was not full I don' t get it

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great place

The Grand Palladium us a great place to go. Being a very large facility has its pros and cons. Pro being so much to offer but con, having to walk or travel between the different resorts. They did have transportation available which certainly helped. Food was great which is important to us. However we learned very quickly to eat early before say 6:30 at the a la carts or you were in for a very long wait. There were many people complaining about this. There were quite a few inefficiencie [... read more]s at the a la cartes that could have been improved on to get people in and out quicker. For example one we went in we were there for almost 2 hours between start and finish. Another one, they were taking so long we decided to skip out on desert. People were all friendly and always willing to help out. Even though this was a busy time, was surprised there were not more issues in regards to getting chairs, etc at the pool. We had a delay getting to the resort......3 hrs from getting to the airport to getting to the resort. Next time, I would consider taking a private ride to get right there instead.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Good value

We stayed at the resort December 22-29 and overall we had a very nice trip. The trip was well priced which is one of the reasons why we booked there- it's promoted as a four and a half star resort and it is definitely not. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are all amazing and they work so hard however, our room was very dated, impractical and the bathroom was extremely grungy and mouldy; the food is fairly mediocre but we loved the Japanese ala carte. One of the best things about this res [... read more]ort is that there's tons of chairs and you never have to worry about finding a place to sit. Overall we had a great time and feel that we paid a fair price for what's really a 3 1/2 or four star resort we didn't get the deal we had hoped for but I would still recommend this family friendly resort to people. Biggest downfall was the check in and check out -both were tedious and unnecessarily complicated and convoluted.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: average resort

rooms dated and need of repair, selection of food not the best due to running out of items. Asked to be located near the beach but near the mall-- entertainment in the mall in the evening echos through the mall very loud so if you want to have shut eye anywhere from 6pm to midnight good luck. terrible sewer smell in bedroom asked for someone to take a look on 2 occasions told by front desk they had checked and it smelled of food I informed them NO--- poop. Grand Riviera Princess: More & more like home

Was my 6th time at Grand Riviera/Sunset/Platinum Resort with either family or solo and loved every trip. Beach is getting eroded but not much you can do about nature except accept it..staff is very good, food is good, easy & cheap drive to Playa - too big a place for people with mobility issues, however and place is very clean and well kept.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Still as good as ever.

the Iberostar Grand prides itself on customer service. the areas are always kept clean with staff constantly looking for things out of place. after 12 years and the salty air takes its toll on the infrastructure so in parts the hotel needs some work which is in the works. A new menu in the specialty restaurants has changed things up a bit but they are all top quality with a fine selection of food and wine. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great Resort

The hotel was great, the staff were very accomodating anything you asked for they tried their best to accomodate. My husband ordered something for the menu he didnt like it and the head waiter immediately came to the table and said no problem order anything to replace it. The rooms were big and clean with beautiful views. The pool and pool seating area always clean and never had a problem getting a lounge chair by the pool. The entertainment team were always on the go with pool volleyball, pool  [... read more]biking, biking tours, pool zumba and nighly shows. Fun in the evening with karaoke in the sports bar then a night cap on the outside patio. We even had premium plus seating on the plane with snacks and champagne. We will definitely go back.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Wonderful resort

Enjoyed the hotel immensely! The paths through the tropical greenery were so beautiful, enjoyed walking them multiple times a day to get to the beach, lobby and room. Staff so friendly and provided excellent service!!! Buffet had lots of options so could always find something to enjoy!! The Christmas dinner December 24 blew us away!! They did an amazing job!!! Grand Palladium Colonial: Absolutely beautiful resort

Love the natural landscape, pathways to lobby & restaurants, trolleys to the other hotels. Pool and beach were amazing,staff was super friendly and helpful. Large variety of food choices. Would definitely go back.

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Excellence Riviera Cancun is a Beautiful Resort

This hotel offers the best service we have ever experienced and we travel allot. We stayed in a swim up beachfront room in the Excellence Club and it was wonderful. The food in every restaurant is very good including the buffet for breakfast and lunch. There is a huge variety to choose from and no reservations are necessary. We did not have any problems getting into any restaurant during our 7 night stay. We especially liked the Indian restaurant "Basmati" The food was amazing. The French restau [... read more]rant is very good we went twice order the French Onion Soup for a real treat. The staff in the Excellence club were so accommodating and friendly they made our vacation. We will be going back to this resort and may try the new one in Punta Cana later this year. Excellence Riviera Cancun: Great Resort

This was a great resort! - The layout is very well done. Everything is close by, but it doesn't feel like one big building - Great restaurant variety. Several are served by the same kitchen, however we only ate at the same restaurant for dinner twice over 10 days - Good quality food - Efficient room service - Huge variety of alcohol, ie many different kinds of tequila, and helpful bartenders - The layout of the pools is well done, it never felt crowded - Good variety of lounge chairs, cov [... read more]ered beds, etc. around the resort and on the beach - Large, comfortable, and well air-conditioned rooms, quiet at night.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing place for people with small kids

Great servie massive place many water parks, you will never get bored the entertainment was also ok i like the towel service and how nice and quiet everything was the gym was awesome Will definitely want to go back got 5 nights of

Riu Yucatan: Best vacation

We spent Christmas at Riu Yucatan, it was amazing! Great food, clean and new room, what we liked the most it was the customer service. We also really liked the location, it's very close to everything you need. Best Christmas ever!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Great vacation at the Grand Sirenus

The Grand Sirenus is a lovely resort. The staff members are hardworking, the food is fine (not amazing but good enough), and the pool is fun. Sometimes the music and the antics of the DJs were a little much, but overall they added a lot of entertainment. The jewel on the crown of this resort is the beach front. It was beautiful and didn't even feel very crowded. The rooms are large and well maintained, except that they are very musty smelling. The whole thing was a breeze, from booking online with trip central to getting to and from the resort.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Great resort!!

The hotel was beautiful, clean and the staff was amazing! There were many pools, including some reserved for adults only in the "GRAND" section. Loved it!! The beach was amazing!! There were a little bit of rocks but other than that, it was great!! Be careful with people at the airport or in the hotel lobby offering "a free gift". The goal is to bring you to another hotel to attend a 2 hour presentation. Then you will be asked to buy a membership...Every day, there was someone trying to sell [... read more] us the free gift, which was pretty annoying. We bought some excursions with Air Canada and they were very pricy for what we got. The catamaran excursion was not so great and very expensive – very disappointing. For all your purchases, you can request to be charged in pesos instead of $US. When you buy an excursion, Air Canada will offer a “free trip” to Playa Del Carmen. Again, there was a catch – we had to spend 45 minutes into a jewelry store and of course, there was a lot of pressure to buy something. We complained and we were able to go to Playa Del Carmen after an hour of waiting at the jewel store. And finally, the hotel is a little far from everything…if you want to stay at the hotel or go to Tulum, it will be great! But if you want to go to Playa Del Carmen or Cancun for example, be ready to spend a lot of time on the road!!
