Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Not too happy

Worse resort ever. They refuse to serve me drinks because I didn’t tip the bartenders. My room didn’t got cleaned properly. After i left tip was all cleaned. Third night no tip my room was not cleaned again. I ordered deinks while waching a show and we never got the drinks. Second night i tip the servent and the drinks amazingly showed up in couple minutes. They should be ashamed to ask $6000 for 7 days. That resort deserves under $3000 for 7days. Never will go there again.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great food and rooms

We stayed at the adult only section of the resort. The rooms were big and spacious. Always lots of food to eat. Didn’t have to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants except for the Japanese one. Large resort but has a trolley. Has lots of kids activities. If you loss your room key it cost $5US for a new one. Bingo cost $2US a card and $2US for kayaking. Evening entertainment was good but very loud bring ear plugs.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing Resort

This hotel went beyond our expectations . The resort was clean the food was great and service was amazing. Our room was lovely with a great washroom with two sinks tub and a shower . Lots of pools lots of restaurants to choose from . Beautiful grounds with interesting wildlife made this resort a place we would love to come back to. Very close to Playa Del Carmen and easy to pop out for a short visit .

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Okay but not superb

The resort itself is beautiful and clean. The service at the buffets was frustrating. From our drink orders being ignored or our table given away while serving ourselves food. The lack of restaurant choice onsite is also less than 5 stars. There is one buffet and one pool side snack bar. There is also one a la carte onsite but getting reservations at all of the restaurants is almost impossible unless you choose to eat at 5:30 or 10pm. We met others who shared the same experience. Definitely not a 5 star resort compared to others in the area. The trolley ride to get to the beach or other resorts in the complex is really just a nuisance. The rooms were nice and clean as was the entire resort. If you expect 5 star quality and service pay a little more and choose a better resort. Ambivalent is probably the best word to describe my feeling once back at home. Upset because I was extremely sick from the food as well.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Nice resort

This resort is massive. We were in the adults select section which is nicely situated close to the beach. The beach is beautiful with white sand and clear blue water. Until the seaweed came on day 4. The resort works hard to keep it cleaned up. Not their fault, just Mother Nature. The king room with a Juliet balcony over looked the pool and had everything we needed, but could use some updating. The burrito shop was a hit, we went there 3 times and they were the best burritos ever. Entertainment was great, shows were good. We went to the spa twice and the staff there were amazing. Best massage ever. I would recommend this resort.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Loved every minute of my trip

This resort was excellent. The only thing about this resort I did not like was that there are 2 sections of the resort (pools and resturants) that you can not use unless your apart of their vacation club that costs like 18 000 usd or more. That part is like a time share. And you will need asked to sit thru a 90 min presentation which ends up being 2. 5 hrs. Now on to the good stuff. Our breakfast and lunch waiter William was fantastic. The show didn't start till 9:30 which was late for me. I go for the sun so I am up early. Xcaret park next door is so worth the $200 unlimited access cost. We are already planning another trip there next year. So much wildlife. Fantastic time. Food was excellent, the room had great AC and the beds were very comfortable

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great Resort - first time in Mexico

Hotel was beautiful and the grounds gorgeous and well kept. Our room was nice, king size bed and lots of room to put clothes and your belongings. The maids did a great job keeping on top of it. The beach was very nice but very windy every day, not that anyone can help Mother Nature. We did have fun playing in the waves. There is lots to do, we never got to it all. The other restaurants were really good, steak was awesome. Entertainment was good, magic show and the Broadway night. If you can make you way to the disco you should as it was a lot of fun. Great dance music. Did an excursion to Tulum ruins and Rio Secreto caves. Diego tour guide was very knowledgeable and a great guide. This was worth the money. All in all we would go back to this resort. The staff were great and worked very hard, they are overworked and the hotel should hire more to compensate... Also the drinks, especially at the beach, were not strong at all, it didn't taste like there was any liquor in them at all.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Our Dream Vacation!

This resort was a dream from start to finish. If I have to put it in a few words, its eye candy, the wildlife is amazing and felt like home. The rooms were large and fresh, modern and updated, the buffet and a la carte restaurants were always busy and food was tasty. The beach is small but perfect (does need more chairs - so get up before 7am and get yours!) and the snorkelling was such a treat for our son. The salt water pools were refreshing. We were one of the lucky ones to have Monkeys on our balcony and a deer in reach of touch! Such an experience for everyone. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Loved this amazing resort

Room was great and cleaned. Dinning room were excellent Grounds were very nice and very well kept. I thought it was a very beautiful resort. I also thought it was a huge resort. Some things were very expensive

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Wonderful family vacation!!

Our trip at the beginning of April to Grand Bahia Principe Coba was of our favorite vacations to date. We have 2 boys (4 and 6) There is a great water park for the kids. The food was fantastic with choices for every taste and diet. (Buffet was actually better than the a la cartes in our opinion). The grounds are beautiful. It is a 5 minute shuttle ride to get to the beach which was not a nuisance..It ran often and was fun for the kids. The resort is big but not overwhelming. By the second day we had it all figured out. The only negative if I had to choose one was our room wasnt ready until 4pm on the day of check in. Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Positive Changes, Great Resort

We were in this resort a few years ago, it was great, so we decided to come back. This time I was amazed by the service, friendliness of the stuff, cleanness of the resort. Kids Club is new amazing add-on, kids don't want to leave it. Property is beautiful and well maintained. No tips begging make you want to leave tips. The only concern we had was seaweed, couple days were really out of control. They have equipment to remove it, but, I guess, it was just a season for those. Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Amazing Budget Resort

The was our first time to this resort and we really enjoyed it. Everything was spotless in the rooms and around the resort. The rooms are basic as in nothing fancy and I am ok with that. The beds are comfy and the air conditioning in our room worked to good lol. The shower was always hot with really good water pressure. The pool never felt crowded and always had activities going on. I also think a few tables on the pool deck with an umbrella and chairs would be nice. The food and food availability at this resort is really good. 24 hour free room service with a limited menu. A snack bar at the pool that opens around 11 am and goes to the wee hours of the morning (it moves inside late at night) A buffet that is open for breakfast and lunch everyday and for a few evening dinners as well. Along with prepared food they also offer fresh cooking stations. The resort however really needs to get proper toasters as the ones they have are cheap home toasters and are pretty useless and worn out. 4 onsite restaurants with no reservations required that are open for dinner and one of these is also open for a sit down breakfast. Most of the food we had all week was very good with a few minor misses. The beach was so nice and the water was amazing. Most days are red flag days so if you are looking for a calmer ocean experiance this may not be for you. We loved fighting the waves for a bit most days. The best part of this resort is the staff who make you feel at home and a little like royalty . We will go back.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Destination Wedding- PERFECT RESORT!

We just returned from having our destination wedding at the Royalton. It was PERFECT. We had a group of 77 people with us, and every one of them loved it as well. It was a large enough resort people were able to do their own thing, but at the same time there were lots of places to meet and hang out with everyone as well. Definitely caters to everyone's vacation needs. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food was fantastic. The views are spectacular as well. Pictures truly don't do it [... read more] justice. Our wedding day was amazing. We got married at the Sky Terrace and it would be hard to find a more beautiful place to get married. Our reception was on the beach and the staff did an amazing job to make sure it went smoothly. Specifically, our wedding coordinator Caty was the best! She made sure every second of our day was as least stressful as possible. HIGHLY recommended this resort for anyone considering a destination wedding or for anyone looking to get away. Can't wait to go back!!!

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Amazing resort to stay

The hotel was amazing, I would recommend to anyone who likes nature and adventure. There is so much to do on the resort alone and if you get access to the park, it gives you unlimited things to do without even leaving the resort. The staff on the resort are very nice and friendly, willing to answer any question you might have. Rooms and food are good too.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Enjoyed my Stay at the COBA

We stayed at the COBA from April 7-14. The reception staff were very polite and efficient. We were offered a beverage while we completed the check-in paperwork. I found that our check in process was fast. The resort grounds were well-manicured as the groundskeepers worked tirelessly to maintain that affect. There are trolleys to take you to the other complexes such as Tulum, Akumal, Sian Ka, which make up the Grand Bahia Principe. The COBA is not a “spring break” party resort, but it is a fa [... read more]mily friendly resort with the kid pools, kids club, and a life guard supervised mini water park. My 2 year old grandson just loved the water park and the slides. The rooms are typical for a resort. In the room there was a flat screen TV as well as a coffee maker, an iron & ironing board and a fridge that was stocked every day, with 2 beers, 2 large bottles of water, and various soft drinks. The daily maid service was good. The main buffet restaurant is very typical of all-inclusive resorts. The COBA does a good job appealing to an eclectic clientele with various tastes, even the pickiest eater should be able to find something to eat. Depending on your timing, if you happened to be at one of the food stations when the food trays are being refilled, you will get hot food. Otherwise, the food quickly loses it heat sitting in the trays. There are no food warming lamps in the stations to maintain the heat. The food offering can seem repetitive, so if I can make a suggestion, is that you vary your focus on your food selections. For example, select chicken, one day, meats the other etc., so you don’t get tired of eating the same thing every day. The a la carts book up quickly so I strongly suggest that you make the reservations after you have checked in, as you might not get the restaurant or time you want. There are 2 pools. A main pool where you have the animation team and activities, and a quite pool. At the main pool, they have live music around the pool area with an outdoor Mexican buffet to complement the pool bar restaurant. This year most of the animation team were all new. They are very friendly, outgoing, however, the team focused on Yoga, Jenga and stretching classes. I had to remind them not to neglect the popular, high participation rate of all age’s activities like Bocce, Horseshoe and others. There are night shows such as Circus, Michael Jackson, live music tribute bands starting at 9:00 pm that very entertaining. I would like to recognize Alba and Pilar who provided very good and friendly service at COBA main buffet, Kevin and Luna as part of the animation team, Anwar and Rodrigo from the client service management area for their assistance. In closing, even though it is an all-inclusive package, the restaurants, bar and cleaning staff work very hard. I’ve seen people being rude and treating the la cart servers disrespectfully, then leaving without tipping them. A few dollars to us will not break you, however, will be very appreciated by them as my understanding their pay isn’t very much.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good value but has some issues.

Grounds: excellent. Hotel: needs to be maintained better (broken floor tiles and door handles etc.)and there is a lot of echo noise from the rough surfaces on the hotel hallway floors. Also, there should be better security control over late night party people around 2am to 4 am. Beach: needs better erosion protection and machines to remove sea grass more quickly. Food: about 1 in 3 people I spoke to had been sick during their stay at this hotel, myself included. This seems to be a high perce [... read more]ntage and should be investigated as to the source of the problem. Staff: everyone was very friendly and seemed to be happy to be serving their guests. This was the best part of this experience in my opinion.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Excellent time!

The resort was absolutely gorgeous and very big. Lots of space to relax and the food was delisious. It is located with in the jungle, which is great for seeing new wild life! The staff and service were outstanding.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Very Nice Resort

This resort was very lovely. I was afraid it was going to be a lot of walking but it was laid out well so maybe 10 minutes either way. The staff are so friendly and he rooms are nice and clean. Had a great time.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Average Stay

This hotel is perfect for those who want to relax. The resort is generally quiet with subtle entertainment. The food was average but often served at room temperature or even cold even at the a la carte restaurants.The best food was the restaurant Koh Thai, hands down. The staff are all amazing very nice and accommodating.
