Playa Caleta: Nice Resort

The hotel was nicer than expected for a 3 star. Food was good, drinks were good. The resort itself was cute. Lots of plants which made it seem very tropical. Gorgeous beach. My only complaint is the lack of toilet paper provided in the rooms and in the lobby bar (the lobby bar also only had one functional toilet). Pack your own!

Paradisus Varadero: Fun, clean, great food

I felt like it was the first vacation I had had in 20 years. The food was amazing, the resort was clean, and the staff was friendly. I particularly enjoyed Eddie, who entertained us from morning to night, teaching us how to dance, play pool, swimming races with the kids, and just making for a fun vacation. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Blau Varadero: Great resort

Excellent resort. Great food and awesome beach. Rooms are a bit dated but the view (ocean/pool) is amazing. Elevators are a slow but not too bad. Great staff and service. Probably one of the best I traveled to on cuba

Melia Marina Varadero: Wonderful and relaxing holiday!

My friend and I stayed at the Melia Marina Varadero in May 2016 for 10 days. I highly recommend this hotel. It was a wonderful; and relaxing holiday, beautiful beach, nice and clean rooms, excellent service from room maids. The room was always cleaned by the lunch time. Food was very good and the selection here was better compared to other resorts (we were in Cuba before several times to different hotels). The only thing is that the hotel is located not directly next to the beach, so you can take a cart ride or walk for 5 minutes to get there. Special thanks to resort’s driver Noel Bosch. He always was so professional and pleasant with people. Melia Marina is lucky to have Noel Bosch on their team. The beach area was filled with lots of loungers and shades that we never had any difficulty securing the place. The evening entertainment was very good with live music and shows. Staff members were generally always friendly and willing to assist to ensure we were having a great holiday. We will definitely return to Cuba again and stay at Melia Marina Varadero!!! Luda

Starfish Varadero: Need Some Relaxation - Go to Aguas Azules!!

I like the resort, the people, the food and not having to fight for a beach chair...there were times I was the only one in the water...had a bungalow again with a balcony over looking the pool...what could be more perfect than that!! And how could I not mention my housekeeper...Louda!! Always smiling and made sure my room was clean!! Thanks Aguas Azules for another amazing vacation!!

Melia Las Antillas: Melina Las Antillas resort

This resort was renovated. Rooms are good size. Grounds, floors are clean. Beach, pools are also clean. Services are good. Particularly the food and beverage manager. This is the first time I met him. I can see him working hard, has good customer skills. Staffs are very friendly. I would hardly recommend it to my friends.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Arenas Blancas

Good enough resort. stayed on the first floor and had an issue with the smell in our room. Definitely a party hotel, especially the solymar side. Housekeeping deliver drinks and toilet paper every day which is nice. resort bar inside the arenas blancas ran out of a lot of alcohol and closed at 11pm. Dont go for the food- go for the drinks and party.

Starfish Varadero: Better than anticipated

We all have reservations about what type of resort to expect when we arrive in Cuba. We were very pleasantly surprised at the reception we received when we arrived...from the bus drivers to the hotel managers. The reception desk staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful from the day we arrived until the morning we left to go home. As were most of the staff at different areas in the hotel. The rooms are basic but clean...the food was acceptable in the buffet and better in the a la carte .. [... read more].make sure you spend time getting reservations for the a la carte.. The beach is expansive, clean of sea grasses and rocks...this is a great beach!!!! Lots of palapas to take cover from the sun and spotty rain. The beach is even better in that there are no motorized sea doos, banana boats and crazy disco music pounding all day....actually had spa music playing in the morning at the beach...nice touch!!!! We enjoyed our stay at Aguas Azules...would go back there...actually wish I was still there :-)

Playa Caleta: Great Resort!

Beautiful ocean view room. Few tiny bugs fly on ceiling at night but they are gone in the day, probably from leaving door to balcony open. Decent food, wish they had more slushy drinks though. Very wonderful staff.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Best time again

This is the 3rd time i have been to this resort in the last 1and a half years and still love it. The food is always been great and the service is top notch . Every time i come i see changes and all for the good they now have WIFI that is new. the beach is the best you cant beat it. But the thing that works the best for me is the location right at the end of town and you can walk to everything.

Palma Real: Awesome time

This hotel is in the perfect location Renovations were ongoing The staff at this hotel are so friendly and will help you This place is so close to restaurants and lots of clubs. I have stayed at Palma Real many times and plan to return real soon

Starfish Jibacoa: Great getaway place!

Great villas... Close to beach and pool. Food was better then expected, you will never go hungry! Best Spanish coffee and the hamburgers at pool are great... Secluded spot ( hour from Havana and hour from Varadero ) If your looking for a relaxing week away from everything .... Go here! For a 3 star hotel and price.... You can't beat it

Playa Caleta: We have survived

All i can asy we had fun in a group setup. Elevators that are slow and not functioning, leaking windows, ac that does not cool are standard features. Other than that we lower our expectations and we knew the risks.

Sol Varadero Beach: Everything I asked for

My vacation was in early June. I had wonderful weather despite the forecasts saying it would rain with thundershowers all day everyday (it did rain, but for only 5 minutes and it averaged 33 C every day). My expectations weren't too high, as I was arriving to Cuba. I'm not very picky about rooms, service, or food, as long as it's safe and clean. The rooms were clean, nice, have fully functioning air conditioning, and a maid service everyday. The food was actually very good. They have a  [... read more]buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Stay clear of the foods that look sketchy, but a lot of it is edible (with certain stations where they cook the food right in front of you). They have 4 a la cart restaurants that are supposed to have the better quality food. When I went only 2 restaurants were open but they were both really good. And lastly about food, there is a 24hr snack bar with very good fast food type foods. Service was good. Everyone spoke at least a little bit of English in case you don't speak Spanish. They aren't rude at all. The only thing I really wanted from this hotel, was that they actually did include everything they said when I booked the trip. AND THEY DID!

Melia Las Antillas: Lovely Resort

This is a well kept adult resort. While not lavish it is tastefully designed and the grounds are meticulous. It is clean and the pool is fantastic, as is the beach. Some of the staff are outgoing but not all.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Not a good experience

This would have been my third time in Cuba. I love Varadaro! The Hotel was definitely not what i expected, It was a 41/2 5 star resort but this hotel did not impress me at all. I have no problem with the food in Cuba (i know everyone often complains) but I usually find something I like. The food at this resort was terrible, It was the worst resort that i have been to regarding the food. My fiance' was faced with food poisoning after eating in one of the snack bars on the resort - he was V [... read more]ERY sick for TWO days. We had planned to go on a excursion and had to stay in bed (by toilet) instead, this was not enjoyable for either of us! This was his first time in Cuba, and that experience I think definitely turned him off of the food in Cuba it definitely made him terrified to eat ANYTHING on that resort for the rest of our stay. The phone in our room also did not work, we were unable to even call back home to let family know we arrived safe. We were told that they have been having problems with the phone system and hopefully it will work in a few days ?? The service/housekeeping was exceptional as always in Cuba, as Cubans are beautiful people inside and out! I love to Travel and never one to complain, and would love to do more travelling but I do know that I will never return to that resort the food poisoning definitely put a damper on things. I am very familiar with the signs and symptoms of food poisoning v and was well aware that this was definitely a very bad case of it, worst I have ever seen! My travel agent at Trip-Central, Cindy Callaghan (Halifax, NS) has been doing an exceptional job at booking my vacation getaways for me and my family for many years, I will continue to trust her opinion with the exception of this one hotel. It is always a pleasure doing business with Cindy as she is very friendly, knowledgeable and gets to know her customers well to ensure they what they want and need to enjoy their vacation getaway. So all in all we enjoyed the time together and made the best of it. I usually do not write reviews but the food poisoning was a real scary situation for us. I also have never won anything in my life so thought I would give it a go. We were hoping to go away for our anniversary in September or around that time frame, but may not be able to afford it as we are also hoping to plan a wedding and honeymoon down south also! Iberostar Selection Varadero: Amazing Resort with wonderful staff

We were there week of June 4, the resort is very nice and clean. The staff are all very friendly and always willing to help. The entertainment staff are amazing. Always kept us busy. Great selection of food.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Amazing resort and people

The hotel its located close to amenities and specially to the beach Very friendly people . Great service ,excellent trip . I will go back anytime and recommend it to family and friends . The help I received from trip central was also great service.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Classic old Cuba

Overall good resort and a good deal. Food would be the weakest link. Needs help.... But you won't starve. Roast pork and black beans and rice are good staples. Rooms aren't bad renos taking place. Popular resort because of price and beach. Fun time, worth booking. Thanks to Jen at tripcentral

Barcelo Solymar: Spacious, fun and good location

The resort is large and is associated with Arenas Blancas resort. It has a good number of people there and a good "party" atmosphere. Theres plenty of good restaurants and clubs within walking distance. The buffet food was bland; i saw people with their own hot sauce or something to add flavor. I also recommend bringing your own thermos, i saw many people with them and you are able to have the bartenders fill them with the drinks of your choice.
