Hotel Villa Cuba: Great resort

Really enjoyed our stay. Would def return to this resort. Staff was awesome, food was very good and location was perfect. Beach was a short walk and beautiful. Villas were nice and comfortable. We Look forward to our next trip to Cuba

Roc Barlovento: A small intimate resort

This was our 6th time to Cuba & had stayed at Roc Barlovento last year for a month. we enjoyed ourselves a great deal last year & again went for a month this year . It was even better than last year. The new manager Angel could be seen every day ,walking the resort to ensure all was in order for the resort guests. The food was very good & the entertainment so very enjoyable. All of the bar staff are very pleasant & like to interact with the guests. The beach is just beautiful & the pool is well looked after by the two young men & is at all times kept very clean. If any problem arise just go to the Customer service ( Katina ) & you will be helped.The Customer service at this resort is exceptional. We are already planning our trip back next year. Memories Jibacoa: Little piece of paradise

We usually travel to Jibacoa twice a year for rest and relaxation. We found this destination in 2007 and cannot help but come back every year. The beach is beautiful and offers great snorkelling. The snorkelling scenery is one of the big attractions for my wife. We love the grounds and vegitation surrounding the resort. It makes you feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere off the beaten path. The size of the resort is perfect as it is not too big and everwhere is accessible with a short  [... read more]walk. The biggest selling point for us coming back to the resort is the staff and their kindness. We have developed great relationships with the staff ( Yoel, Nelson, Yaniel and Mike) to name a few. There are so many others I could mention.We feel the staff are so genuine and always make a big deal when we return. The front desk staff always try to accomodate our requests it we are travelling with a group and Julie the manager is very approachable if we have concerns. This April we brought two other couples to the resort for the first time and they said they will be back with us again!!! This resort seems to all the right qualities to have people come back again and again. We have brought friends to the resort who will be coming back as often as possible. Anyway, we love our experience at Memories Jibacoa and will continue to return. If i were to offer any criticism, i believe some of the rooms require some upgrades and the air conditioning in some rooms improved. That`s about it!! Oh yeah, the Cerveza is great too! Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Better than expected

After reading several reviews before our trip, we weren't sure what to expect. Beautiful beach, pools, great entertainment, buffet food wasn't bad (just repetitive), a la carte at Japanese restaurant was really enjoyable. Most staff were friendly, but we found a few to be quite rude. We were disappointed with our room; the bed was hard and lumpy, the closet doors were broken, lock on bathroom door was also broken, the sheets on the bed and towels were not changed for the entire week, but mi [... read more]ni fridge was restocked as promised. Fortunately, the maintenance issues did not ruin our fun and we had a great week overall.

Starfish Varadero: Excellent service and resort.

The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They made my daughter feel like the most special person in the world on her birthday by throwing her a party at the Mini Club. (They even gave her gifts) There was always someone available to help out on every turn.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: GREAT RESORT

Memories Jibacoa: Nice quiet resort.

Overall the resort was nice but very quiet. As an adults only, I expected quieter than some but we were falling asleep by the pool at 10am due to the sedate music. The resort is small but that was a good thing. Everything is close. The food was better than I expected, especially the a la carte restaurants. The resorts proximity to Havana made for an easy drive (approx. 40 min) into town and was well worth the visit. Overall a good time.

Hotel Los Cactus: Good Resort- Quaint

The grounds were kept really nice, the staff are welcoming. The food was probably the best I have had in Cuba. We could always find something to eat. The pool was great and the beach was nice. We would return

Paradisus Varadero: Gorgeous beach & pool -- lacklustre resort

Pros: beautiful beach and water, great pool, pretty grounds, and impressive nightly entertainment. Cons: very musty and tired-looking rooms, mediocre customer service, and bland food (buffet and restaurants). Resort amenities look a bit tired/in need of a face lift. We requested to change rooms because they were incredibly musty smelling and looked very worn out. Ladies at front desk did not seem very pleased with this request, however we were eventually shown different rooms and were able t [... read more]o switch. Bathrooms are nicely renovated, though toilet in our room barely flushed and hot water could be a bit hit or miss. Food at the buffet was very bland. Not much better at the restaurants. Very tasty mojitos and pina coladas. If you are looking for a culinary experience, definitely not the place to go. Was difficult to get hands on more bottles of water if you finished yours prior to the daily delivery (late morning). Grounds/beach maintenance was pretty good, though greater attention to detail would take it that extra level. Overall loved the beach, pool, and weather -- the most important factors in my eyes!

Starfish Varadero: Resort needs work

If you are going there with expectations than this is not the resort for you. I went down with 3 other girls. Two of our friends toilet didn't work, we had no hot water, beds were paper thin, there was an ant infestation in our room, leaking water in our hotel room from the ceiling, first 3 days I lived off bread since the food options were below standards, long line ups to the grill on the weekends after the locals got there. The resort is run down and needs a complete make-over. One night I ha [... read more]d to go to the front desk because the maid forgot to leave us towels. Entertainment was very weak and in one case because there weren't enough people in the audience to watch they cancelled the show and sent the performers home. The beach was the only highlight. That being said, we made the most of what we had and despite the hotels down falls, it is what you make of it. If you want a low budget vacation this could be a good option, however if you have any expectations be prepared to be disappointed.

Roc Barlovento: Fair value for your money

We new before we left that the Hotel Roc Belovento was not a five star resort. It was exactly what we expected. It is an old resort and it shows it. The grounds were clean. The staff were grumpy. We guessed became of it being the end of the season. Two ladies Hilda and one in the buffet were very friendly. So was the entaintertamint staff. The pool needs a good cleaning. The second pool has a liner and its discolored and in need of repair. The beaches are beautiful. The food was better than I  [... read more]expected. Same thing most nights but we all ate fine. When we found our room after asking for a newly renovated room we got a old room. It was musty until we got the air conditioning on and aired out the room. We were supposed to get each a bottle of water we got one for three people. When we wanted to sit on are balcony we found a huge dead mouse/rat. The next day it was gone. Theresa are fantastic cleaning staff either got rid of it or one of the many resorts cats found it. Unfortunately there are many around the resort along with lots of dogs which I love and was saddened by the lack of any kind of vet care. Some were in such bad shape. We attempted to arrange to rescue one of them but couldn't get enough information on how to do so. We got an amazing deal for the price of this adult only resort. So we didn’t complain.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Fun Time

We really enjoyed the beach- one of the best I've been to. The people who worked there were very friendly. Doris the beach towel girl was great- friendly, helpful- couldn't do enough for us! The food was good, the wine too. I liked how the resort was small and not crowded. Our whole trip was smooth and we had no problems whatsoever. A great vacation and great price.

Roc Barlovento: Good Vacation

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: ok for the money!

While the resort has aged, the people that work there are great! Food is actually better than most resorts I been to in Cuba as this was my 6th time. Facilities can use a refresh, some rooms have that wet smell but aside from that, place is great. The only con is how far it is from DT Varadaro!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Excellent Resort

The hotel was in good shape, seemed to be well looked after, our room was very nice and the cleaning lady looked after us very well. We were on the third floor with a great view of the ocean and surrounding property.

Melia Las Antillas: Great Resort!

The beach was fabulous and the pool area was nice with something always going on. We were in one of the out buildings on the ground floor. The room was comfortable, clean and in a quiet area. We only went to the Italian Restaurant which was very romantic. The buffet dinning hall had something to eat for everyone and one of the better ones we have come across in Cuba. Overall great holiday and would recommend to everyone.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Nice view resort

Facilities are very poor in the room. We only had one table lamp in a good condition. Standard lamp without lampshade. Aisle light doesn't work. Two lamps in a room can't provide enough light. Bathing supplies wasn't provided everyday. TV can't be seen clearly. Plus a large number of mosquitoes. Unbearable!!!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Good value for Price

Pool is great for family's. I have 4 Boys and they spent majority of there time there going down the water slide. Beach and Pool offer lots of loungers with lots of shade coverage. You do not have to get up early to save a spot. Restaurant beside activity pool is very convenient and even offers Poutine! Buffet more than enough food to choose from. Hotel rooms accommodated our family of six no problem. However the room smelled like mold. Birds and flies flew constantly into buffet and ate the food from plates and buffet. So if you have a phobia of birds or get turned off of the thought of birds/flies eating food I would suggest eating at restaurants instead. The Japanese Restaurant was the best. In general you get what you pay for. It is rated as a 4 star. And for cuba I would say that is true. Probably more like a 3 in Canadian standards.

Be Live Turquesa: I was pleasantly surprised

Our short stay at Be Live Turquesa was a pleasant surprise. The beach was amazing and the beach staff very helpful. A number of different events such as volleyball, aquafit ran throughout the day at the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a delicious dinner at the Italian restaurant. The room was clean and the staff kept it serviced daily. A great place to go

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: great hotel

we had a great time the food was very good with lots of variety grilled meat chicken fish, fresh fruit and great ice cream the pool bar offered pizza hamburgers and the pool was very nice. Night entertainment was also quite good. No mosquitoes!! only a few tiny ants in the bathroom which the maid took care of and never returned take raid with you in case.The rooms were comfortable and as far as beach towels go reuse it and you won't have a problem.
