Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great resort!

Just came back from a wonderful week. Love this resort! Although it is a very large resort it doesn't feel that way. Each section has their own pools and buffet restaurants. Our building and room were very clean and well kept. Loved the pool, no problem finding pool chairs every day and the water was crystal clear. Great service at all the bars and all staff are super friendly. Loved the animation team! The only thing I found to be disappointing was the beach. Beach chairs are packed very clo [... read more]se together in a small area and I found that there was a lot of seaweed in the water. We spent most of our time at the pool. Would definitely come back here again!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: great value for money-beautiful resort

We went as 3 couples after scouting out numerous options. We were extremely pleased with the outcome,as the upgrades are awesome,rooms spectacular and dining commensurate with 5 star location.Beach is excellent and a good location.We all speak very highly of our overall experience.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Calm and Relaxing Getaway!

My bf and I travelled here with another couple. Upon arrival we were greeted by Liliana who was absolutely lovely, we got to check in early at 1pm. We stayed in a superior room close to the beach (definitely recommend a 1st floor room). We headed straight to the buffet and the service was great. The night life wasn't crazy, the beach disco ends at 11pm so if you're looking for exciting night entertainment/ partying - this isn't the place for you. My favourite day activities were by the pool, they did something different every afternoon (flip cup, water olympics, etc). If you're looking to try some excursions, there's a great city tour/ cable car ride. If I had to be nit-picky the showers were never hot, in the morning we got warm water and the evening was cold. Overall we had a fantastic stay and the trip was a great value!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Amazing Value!

-Staff were excellent. Extremely friendly and provided a great experience. -Beach and Pools were great, not too busy, could always find a chair or bed to lay in by the pool or beach. -Room was large and clean, they provide you with jugs of water which is great too. -A la carte's were excellent, great variety with seafood, chinese, and the grill. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Stay!

Overall the hotel property was very clean, the hotel staff were friendly and attentive and the food inmy opinion was quite good. This hotel’s property as an example was the only one that had the beach being raked continuously for seaweed and it was always in great shape. The rooms were large and modern. Entertainment was good. Couple of minor inconveniences such as being told i could not have a premium drink in the other bahia property but all in all not a bother.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: A real 5 Star Resort

Have travelled extensively to the sun spots and this one is right up there as one of my favourites. Multi unit Complex gives you the flexibility of multiple choices for your dinning experience. and multiple pools to relax. The Esmaralda had very adequate suites, was close to the beach, great service in the buffet and swim up bars and the same beautifully manicured grounds and gardens found throughout the whole Complex.. Riu Republica: Awesome trip

We enjoyed everything right from check in to check out! The resort although very large is set up well with lots of pools,restaurants and bars! It was great that you could find chairs all throughout the day! We enjoyed the steak house as well as the Italian restaurant , buffets were both excellent as well! The entertainment both during the day around the pools and evening shows was standard ! We really enjoyed the drink service around the pools!

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: So much fun!

This is the first vacation that my boyfriend and I have ever taken together. The Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa totally blew away our expectations. It’s a gorgeous resort in a truly beautiful setting. Everywhere you look, the view is breathtaking. The beach is beautiful, and the pool was a lot of fun. The bartenders are funny and nice, and they mixed our drinks just right. We enjoyed every aspect of the hotel that we could. Everything was always so clean. The staff were constantly cleaning and refreshing everything. Everyone was super helpful and nice. The service was superb. I loved everything overall. The only suggestion I have is about the food. It was delicious, but I couldn’t always tell if a dish had meat in it. I’m a vegetarian, so this is very important to me. If they could do something to mark the dishes as vegetarian it would be most helpful. Other than that everything was perfect. The staff was extremely helpful and very nice. They went above and beyond to help us. The food was fantastic, and we enjoyed the entertainment. Overall an awesome experience. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable. My boyfriend and I both rate the resort 5 stars. We will definitely be back. Thank you for everything.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: okay resort

This resort had very nice grounds from the wild life, too the pool, too the front lobby. However the rooms are not what they claim. We were too have a emerald suite upgrade our room was pretty basic. We waited 5 hours to check in only to have my daughters room not even cleaned. When trying to get the room cleaned we were given the run around and took close to an hour and half to get it cleaned for a room that should have been cleaned to begin with. Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine

We were bumped up from Turquesa to Aquamarine all adult. The place and grounds were beautiful. The food was so good just like home.My room was so big and the bed wow, big enough for 4. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I would go back there in a heart beat. I loved the beach,nice white sand and it was so long. You could get food and drinks right on the beach.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Very big Resort

Wonderful grounds, containing wildlife (Peacocks, Flamingos, Woodpeckers, as an example), ponds, and Palm trees. The Room was adequate, we were supposed to get an Emerald suite upgrade, but I do not think we got that as our room seemed pretty basic. Food was good at the restaurants, not fantastic. The morning breakfast buffet was not the best as the supposed to be hot stuff was Luke-warm at best, to cold. The resort was very big which caused you to use the available ground transportation, w [... read more]hich was not available early in the morning. The front desk staff, did not really know their resort. As an example we ask for the business center, and were told they did not have one. It is down at the morning buffet area and open. We also asked were the Adult only buffet was and again told they did not have one. It is the new Level area, and it is wonderful, but only open for dinner. The beach area is littered with vendors selling everything from tours, jewelry, to drugs, and they hound you. We stayed away from the beach because of this, stayed at the pool. Overall the resort was adequate, but I would not return.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: 5 Star All The Way

Great family resort! They definitely cater to kids...so many activities, entertainment, kidsclub, teen club! Pool area & waterpark are wonderful & never had to worry about getting chairs by the pool....they had lots of covered areas or umbrellas if you wanted shade! Huge assortment of food at buffets or a choice at the a la cartes. Recommend booking reservations ASAP if you want to dine at the a la cartes. There was tons of staff which were all very friendly! If travelling with kids I highly recommend this resort over any of the other Bahia Principe resorts...the others seemed too stuffy...not a lot of younger kids at them! Wish I was still there! 😎

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: The Grand Bahia Principe El Portill is a good resort

My girlfriend and I stayed at this resort in Late November to early December. Overall it is a good resort but I would list it as a 4 star instead of the 5 star that they have above the counter at the guest sign in lobby. The food is good but very repetitive at the beach and large buffet. There are theme nights at the large buffet. The a la carte restaurant are good with the gourmet and mediterrean-spelling being the best. The rooms are cleaned good everyday and the mini bar/fridge is stocked daily. The resort is very cleaned including the surrounding gardens. Check in and out was very smooth with very little time. The liquor and beer is okay but you have to buy top shelf liquor like Canadian club. I would return here again but would fly into the Samana airport as it is only 45 minutes from the resort while Puerta Plata airport is 3 1/2 hours from the resort. A big thank you goes out to Melissa Alexander and Trip Central Travel Agency in Canada. Melissa is an excellent Travel Agent to book a vacation with. She is very polite, patient, helpful and knowledgeable. She provided a large number of excursions / day trips of the resort as well as parking coupons at the airport to use. I will definitely be booking my next trip/vacation thru Melissa and the Trip Central Travel Agencyagain in the future.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful Place!!

This resort was beautiful! From the perfectly kept grounds, pools, lobbies and rooms- this resort was so well looked after- super clean:) we were very happy to learn that our building was very close to the beach and pools. This complex has several resorts in one which makes for a very busy place. We asked how many rooms were there and were told that there were approx 5000 rooms (mostly 2 in a room) and 5000 staff. This place is huge and people are always coming and going. To go to nightly entert [... read more]ainment you can walk 20-30 min or take a quick trolly ride to try to find it. The food was ok and most times to our liking -not Fabulous... most staff are welcoming and cheerful which is one reason we return to the DR. The people. I would recommend this resort but would caution about its’ vast size... it’s like its’ very own city.

Riu Republica: Great Resort!

Great resort with a wide range of age groups!. Many pools, great beach and fun nightly entertainment. we found the food to be just adequate with lots of repetition of the same foods in most of the restaurants. The snack bar foods were very sub standard for a Riu and this should be looked at to improve as there is very little to eat later in the evening. There were many other pools to enjoy so this was not an issue for us. Beach is very crowded so get there early to get a spot. beach area was well maintained and patrolled so not too many vendors bugging you all day.

Impressive Punta Cana: Everything about this resort is amazing.

This resort is beautiful, one of the nicest we have ever been to. The beach is beautiful and we had no problem getting chairs. The grounds are meticulously manicured. The resort is large but point of interests were easy to get to as a map was given to us upon arrival. The food was very good, always fresh, served hot with great selection. The staff of this resort are its greatest asset as all were pleasant, cheerful and eager to help should the need arise. Punta Cana Princess: excellent resort

As usual the resort was great, the service was excellent, we found the bed hard. This was our 12th year at that resort and looking forward to next year. The beach was beautiful and the weather as always was fantastic.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Great resort

The resort was well kept. The food was great and you had a lot of choice of restaurants. My favorite one was the Steakhouse. Amazing filet mignon! The staff from reception, breakfast, lunch, dinner and the resort were all so friendly. They were all there to help you. The only thing that I would have to complain would be the entertainment at night. The room very nice. Beach and pool great. Lots of peddlers on the beach coming to sell things to you but just have to say no and they walk awa [... read more]y.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Amazing resort

Very nice place, the rooms are huge and clean, the food is very good and fresh , a lot of activities , the beach is nice with palm trees , service also very good ,we enjoy our stay and we will return for sure

Riu Bambu: Consistantly good resort

All the rooms, lobby, buffet restaurant, a la carte restaurants and bars have been refurbished. The bar pool has been fitted with in water tables and seats as well as in water beds. There are two large new pools with in water beds and wheel chair access and the seating around the pools has been increased dramatically. The beach is excellent.
