Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Great location

This Hotel was very well maintained, clean and a great location. I can see how some could be disappointed with their room location. The beach is very nice, they do get a lot of rocks washing up on the beach with the waves but they do seem to keep up with them and clear them off every couple of weeks. It would be nice if they had more English speaking hotel workers as there was a few times we needed some info or wanted to ask something and no one understood what we were saying..... including  [... read more]at the ala cart restaurants. The Dining experience was the biggest disappointment of all, the buffet was the smallest buffet I have ever seen and the choices were very small and did not differ much from day to day. We had a lot of stews and meats in sauces.... which where usually left overs from the day before. The salad bar was usually 4 bowls of different salads that were made up, the meats where more than often not even chewable. I was sick 9 of the 10 days and even spent 36 hrs in my room. Breathless Riviera Cancun: 5 star resort!

Amazing resort with top notch service. Very high quality, clean and great food. Endless activities - the E team made things fun always. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone and will definitely be going back.

El Cid Resort Castilla: Beautiful Resort —- love the 70s design

Staff were all so lovely. Food was something to be desired, as were the standard rooms but weather, beach and old town Mazatlán made up for it all + if you are into design the 70s vibe is awesome. The best resto is definitely the Mexican one. Drinks could be boozier. Wish there wasn’t so much soliciting on the beach by vendors.

Paradisus Playa Del Carmen Roulette: Great Food and Service but Daycare atmosphere

Pros: -Amazing food with easy access to a la carte dinners -Great service from all staff -Clean rooms grounds Cons: -Out of control daycare experience while at the pool and buffet area on the family side. Perfect if you have a 3 year old with you but not for couples travelling alone. -No sports bar -No alcoholic drinks before 11am (no baileys in your coffee in the morning, no mimosas, and nothing at any bar or pool) -Beach is full of seaweed. El Cozumeleno Beach: The El Cozumeleno

This Hotel was fine. We have been there now three times. The staff were, as always, very accommodating. The weather likewise. The Speciality Restaurant was excellent, one of the best. Two little items. There was no mini-fridge in the room, which would have been used by us. The other. The main Buffet was open to birds (Starlings) and they enjoyed the food even more than we did. OH well.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Great place to be

Everything was amazing here. The room was new, modern and huge. The unlimited room service was a savior for me and the food at the restaurants were was always fantastic. All the service was great, I have no complaints about any of it.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent resort

The resort was very clean with endless food and drink options. There are multiple resorts on the grounds. The golf cart transportation was frequent and fast. You did have to wait during peak dinner and show times for an available cart to go between resorts but that’s to be expected. Downside-the beach. The water is shallow and rocky. Not good for swimming but there’s always the pools.

Riu Emerald Bay: Beautiful resort something for everyone

The resort is beautiful and was super great value. We enjoyed taking walks down long beach as well as visiting various pools. We could find a quiet area to read or go to the adult pool to enjoy a drink and some fun action. While we are not ones to do the various daily activities …plenty offered daily. Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Nicest resort ever!

Absolutely beautiful. Very nicely located, amazingly built in the jungle and you get to see monkeys! I visited with my daughter, son in law and my grandchildren. My grandchildren didn't want to leave, They had so much fun in the ocean and the swimming pools. Highly recommend to families.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: A star amount resorts ....the Iberostar Cozumel

Stunning, natural, unique resort. The Iberostar resort is beautiful. Lush green natural vegetation amount the cottages and pathways to the lobby, restaurants and the beach. The staff of the Iberostar were wonderful, professional and very thoughtful. The food selection was amazing. The food was incredible and plentiful. The spa area was beautiful.....and we enjoyed a couples massage. We were greeted daily by the pink flamingos and the parrots in the lobby, Peacocks roamed the reso [... read more]rt leisurely and were such a welcome site at the beach or pool area. Quite an experience. We will be back next year.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Nice resort

We had to ask to have our room changed because we were overlooking a horse barn even though we paid extra for an ocean view room. Also, I think the resort should be more upfront about the amount of stairs and long distance it is to get to the dining or the pools.

Allegro Cozumel: Great resort!

The grounds were kept so well and the rooms are nicely decorated. We loved the premium section with the amenities in the clubhouse. Continental breakfast every morning was just right! Our chamber maid kept our room very well and always made us feel special. The only downside was the pool table needs to be refelted and only one cue is not broken.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Perfect Family Vacation

We truly enjoyed our experience at this resort. The resort itself is large with lots of choices for dining and swimming. The staff is very friendly and the resort is very clean. We wouldn't hesitate to return!

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Not too happy

Worse resort ever. They refuse to serve me drinks because I didn’t tip the bartenders. My room didn’t got cleaned properly. After i left tip was all cleaned. Third night no tip my room was not cleaned again. I ordered deinks while waching a show and we never got the drinks. Second night i tip the servent and the drinks amazingly showed up in couple minutes. They should be ashamed to ask $6000 for 7 days. That resort deserves under $3000 for 7days. Never will go there again.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great food and rooms

We stayed at the adult only section of the resort. The rooms were big and spacious. Always lots of food to eat. Didn’t have to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants except for the Japanese one. Large resort but has a trolley. Has lots of kids activities. If you loss your room key it cost $5US for a new one. Bingo cost $2US a card and $2US for kayaking. Evening entertainment was good but very loud bring ear plugs.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing Resort

This hotel went beyond our expectations . The resort was clean the food was great and service was amazing. Our room was lovely with a great washroom with two sinks tub and a shower . Lots of pools lots of restaurants to choose from . Beautiful grounds with interesting wildlife made this resort a place we would love to come back to. Very close to Playa Del Carmen and easy to pop out for a short visit .

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Okay but not superb

The resort itself is beautiful and clean. The service at the buffets was frustrating. From our drink orders being ignored or our table given away while serving ourselves food. The lack of restaurant choice onsite is also less than 5 stars. There is one buffet and one pool side snack bar. There is also one a la carte onsite but getting reservations at all of the restaurants is almost impossible unless you choose to eat at 5:30 or 10pm. Unfortunately we both got extremely sick with food poisoning  [... read more]which ruined the last three days of our vacation. After that eating anything was nerve wracking and stressful. We met others who shared the same experience. Definitely not a 5 star resort compared to others in the area. The trolley ride to get to the beach or other resorts in the complex is really just a nuisance. The rooms were nice and clean as was the entire resort. If you expect 5 star quality and service pay a little more and choose a better resort. Ambivalent is probably the best word to describe my feeling once back at home. Upset because I was extremely sick from the food as well.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Nice resort

This resort is massive. We were in the adults select section which is nicely situated close to the beach. The beach is beautiful with white sand and clear blue water. Until the seaweed came on day 4. The resort works hard to keep it cleaned up. Not their fault, just Mother Nature. The king room with a Juliet balcony over looked the pool and had everything we needed, but could use some updating. There was no shortage of food. Good buffet with many choices. The specialty restaurants were n [... read more]ice, favourite would be the French. The burrito shop was a hit, we went there 3 times and they were the best burritos ever. Entertainment was great, shows were good. We went to the spa twice and the staff there were amazing. Best massage ever. I would recommend this resort.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Loved every minute of my trip

This resort was excellent. The only thing about this resort I did not like was that there are 2 sections of the resort (pools and resturants) that you can not use unless your apart of their vacation club that costs like 18 000 usd or more. That part is like a time share. And you will need asked to sit thru a 90 min presentation which ends up being 2. 5 hrs. Now on to the good stuff. I was I building 18, which was close to a pool and it was in the trees so we had lots of monkeys on our deck [... read more]. That was my favorite part. The staff are so great. Our breakfast and lunch waiter William was fantastic. The show didn't start till 9:30 which was late for me. I go for the sun so I am up early. Xcaret park next door is so worth the $200 unlimited access cost. We are already planning another trip there next year. So much wildlife. Fantastic time. Food was excellent, the room had great AC and the beds were very comfortable

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great Resort - first time in Mexico

Hotel was beautiful and the grounds gorgeous and well kept. Our room was nice, king size bed and lots of room to put clothes and your belongings. The maids did a great job keeping on top of it. The beach was very nice but very windy every day, not that anyone can help Mother Nature. We did have fun playing in the waves. There is lots to do, we never got to it all. Lots of kids and mostly at the pool. The food at the Mexican was great but they should make it more personal and not hosted at t [... read more]he buffet as too open and noisy. The other restaurants were really good, steak was awesome. Entertainment was good, magic show and the Broadway night. If you can make you way to the disco you should as it was a lot of fun. Great dance music. Did an excursion to Tulum ruins and Rio Secreto caves. Diego tour guide was very knowledgeable and a great guide. This was worth the money. All in all we would go back to this resort. The staff were great and worked very hard, they are overworked and the hotel should hire more to compensate... Also the drinks, especially at the beach, were not strong at all, it didn't taste like there was any liquor in them at all.
