Gran Caribe Sun Beach: For a better price I would go back again.

I do keep in mind that this is a 2 * resort. But there is no need for it to be dirty. I did not think of this when I booked it. But because it is a cheap resort, the people that are there are more trashy group. (Not being mean or rude. Its just a fact. I wish I would have thought of this befor we went.) Mind you our room was very clean. Just the public areas were dirty. (Washrooms ,pool) the lift is rotten and very dangerous they need to fix it before someone gets seriously hurt. The front desk  [... read more]wanted to hold my pass port for 24 hr. I had an argument to keep it my self. Service was very unfriendly. We had one worker ask us for our shoes at the buffet, we said no. She walked us over to the table. I had to ask for cutlery that same server came back and she thrown the cutlery at us. We were both in disbelief. great weather.

Melia Las Antillas: Amazing staff! Great resort with really good food

We just spent a wonderful 2 weeks (April 30-May 14) at Melia Las Antillas. All staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you. It is obvious they love their jobs and we heard many say so. Tons of staff around from cleaners to management and any would gladly help if you had questions. Service was awesome wherever we went. Drinks were good anywhere. Love the 24h lobby bar. But odd the pool bar was well stocked during the day but removed a lot of varieties at night (open to midnight). Food was r [... read more]eally good for Cuban standards and plentiful. The buffet offered a good variety (including thin crust pizza) and mussels, crab legs, octopus, squid, fish, chicken, pork, etc. etc. and all the sides. But people complain about the AC. Well let me just say if people (visitors) would close the doors behind them then maybe it would have a chance to cool down more. The beach was obviously beautiful but no bathrooms near it so you had to walk back to the pool. The beach bar was great and the grill next to it were awesome. The pool was lots of fun with activities and games, but never overpowering if you wanted to just lay back and chill. The 2 resident sharks in their own pool/pond between the resort and pool were fun to feed and watch (but watch your fingers!). Yes, it had a sulfur smell near where the 4 pillars fed water into the pond, but not always offensive. The resort itself is in slight need of some TLC. But still a great resort and very clean with staff constantly around cleaning, fixing, painting, etc. It is an older building so to be expected. Our room was just OK but we booked a supersaver room so didn't have high expectations. The king bed was firm but very comfy. AC and fridge didn't work well at all but we managed just fine. After talking to others our issues were uncommon as theirs all worked great. We didn't let that spoil our vacation. We intended to venture off the resort into Varadero (I had been before and wanted to go back and introduce my boyfriend to it) but in the end we didn't, we fell into total lazy vacation mode. Except one morning we walked down the street and watched some of the dolphin show from a bridge. The Dolphinarium was within walking distance from the resort. Walking back to our resort we saw 2 camels in a field in front of our resort. Unusual to see but so cool. They have Cuba Day every Saturday on the lawn area and the food was awesome. They shut down the pool grill and buffet (except for the pizza oven). The grind sugarcane in front of you, roasted a pig on a spigot, had grilled lobster, ham, hamburgers, rice, fruit, delicious deserts, breads, and MUCH more. Plus music and entertainment. An awesome afternoon of food, drinks and fun. We were thoroughly impressed with this resort and hope to return again.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Fantastic

This was an amazing resort, we have never traveled south before and have decided we are going back. We will not book any other hotel but the Iberostar Laguna Azul, (I would be afraid I might be dissapointed with something else.) it was amazing the staff were so friendly we had 2 rooms between 4 of us they were clean and spacious. There was non stop entertainment the theater shows were great. I was very happy staying at the Iberostar Laguna Azul. We also did a couple of excursions which were great as well. We did the Jeep excursion and the catamaran, the guides were excellent and made the excursions fun.

Memories Jibacoa: Fabulous resort

Loved the resort! Had ocean view room....room very clean, but needs updating! Really surprised that the food was so good. This is our first visit to Cuba and we were told that the food was awful, so we were pleasantly surprised.......,fresh fish, rice , pasta, excellent omelettes and the most friendly and pleasant staff! Loved it and would definitely return! Only one suggestion... More fruit and vegetables needed!

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Worst Hotel Ever

Well we are not impressed.The Resort itself is sitting in a good location, close to restaurants bars and local shopping.It is small with beautiful views.We have travelled for 15 years and always checked out the Resorts website and read the reviews on Tripadvisor before booking.We always travel with an open mind.Well this resort was certainly over rated by (travelers).??????This Resort was a huge disappointment. It is very run down, such as the cleansiness, Ex: Broken glass on the stairway to the [... read more] rooms all day and same dirt and a rose pedal for three days.Rooms are outdated, furniture is old, chairs on balcony are ancient.Towels (white) look like rags, they are grey and stained. Hotel needs to be painted and concrete around the pool is showing its age, sand in the pool. The main buffet and beach buffet.The food is the same every lunch and super.The food quality is poor.Flys were on the food and the birds also ate there meals. This was everyday.We were given a drinking glass with lipstick still on it. We observed the washing of there glasses one day. They take one glass, put water in, wash with a cloth, take that water poor into next and so on then stick there fingers inside to hold several to place on shelf.The activity team or evening entertainment was not very good.We observed male staff coming back in the evening and partying with the young female tourist on the resort. I have never seen this allowed ever before.Not good business. The one A La Carte that we did attend (Italian).The food was ok and the restaurant was outside and it had no class at all. The Manager that was on duty during our stay did not or would not speak english to us when there was an issue , but thats ok his body language told it all.He was not proffesional at all.We will never return or recommend anyone to this resort. On a possitive note I would like to say that the staff such as the bartenders, maids,waiters and the pool guys were very nice and gave good customer service. Memories Jibacoa: Memories Jibacoa Resort Review

The resort was clean and the people friendly. The resort is secluded and there is only one other resort nearby. Privacy and seclusion is great. This is an adult only resort so there are no screaming and yelling toddlers. The night time entertainment is great especially the musicians. The food is not exceptional but it is varied and adequate. The best food is for lunch down at the beach cabaña. Everything is fresh and very tasty. The beach is unspoiled and very natural. Makes for great beachcomb [... read more]ing. The resort is nestled at the foot of a forested mountain which provides hiking and very good vistas. I'd go back.

Blau Varadero: AMAZING RESORT

Blau Varadero Resort is the best in Cuba for the value we paid. Everything and eveyone were just perfect. Food was all you can ask for, we loved the breakfast and the evening buffet. The lunch buffet was also super. All kinds of fresh fish and other varieties, veggies and fruits, all A1 quality and presentation. The dessert buffet was huge selection, have never seen in any other resort. The beach was amazing as usual. Bars were all great. We recommend this resort to all, we found our resort where we want to go next time when we go to Varadero.

Hotel Los Cactus: Good food, friendly staff, beautiful beach.

Breezes Varadero is a beautiful resort. The grounds are well kept and have a lot of green spaces and walking paths. The buildings are varied and decorated nicely. We really enjoyed the food at the buffet and the al la carte restaurants. There was always a variety of food to choose from. The beach was a favourite spot to hang out and play in the surf. Blau Varadero: Blau is Best!

Stunning landscaping, beautiful flora. Pristine beach. The staff are genuinely happy to help you, very accomodating. Waaay better then mexico. The concierge has lots of great options for activities. Food was great despite what people said about Cuba. I will definetly return.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Better than expected

Really enjoyed the layout, great view of the pool and the beach was a hop, skip and a jump away. The staff were also great. Have the pool open at night time and more live entertainment in the bar area.

Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing beach

Very nice resort with a beautiful beach. Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and fun atmosphere. The beach activities were a highlight for the whole family. Loads of fun. we are planning a return trip for sure.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Excellent resort !

Roc Arenas resort was amazing! The staff, the people over all, the place was excellent! Didn't give me one chance to complain! They loved us just like we were there own! The food was so good! I would surely go back! The 24/7 hour bar, the pool (bar included), the beach , they were out of this world! There were many services such as massages, pedi/mani, facials and much more! The palm trees and the coconuts were just great and refreshing. I would love to go back! 5/5 !

Hotel Acuazul: Awesome Vacay

We went to Varadero and stayed in the Hotel Acuazul for the fourth time. We mostly go there for the staff. They are so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a little run down but you are not in them that long. Food is tasty but not a great selection. The beach is awesome and the people are jus the best. We have made friends there and love to see them. My biggest issue is the lack of hot water so if you don't mind coldish showers it is a reasonably priced holiday.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Resort

We have travelled to Cuba many times and this particular hotel 3 times, twice when it was still under Sandals Resorts. The food is the best we have ever had in Cuba, everything from the beach restaurant to the Seafood restaurant is great. The rooms however are in need of some TLC. The maid service was great, it was the little things, like the safe didn't work until we called the front desk to have someone come and fix it. The bedspread was torn in one corner, the shower curtain was half hanging  [... read more]off the rail, the small mirror was covered in rust. (All of the little things were taken care of by our butler Dainis, who was the best) Management needs to start paying attention to the little things because before you know it they will become major issues.

Starfish Varadero: Expectations were beyond my general vacation

The aquas azoulas hotel was an over all success for me.Reception and the attention given by of All the employees.Variety and comfort was Key.The food was a great pleasant surprise,especially the Al la carte nights.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Another great trip

This was our second time at the starfish like always a great time. This hotel is close to everything. The staff at the star fish makes your stay enjoyable. Looking forword to another trip next year at the starfish

Muthu Playa Varadero: Amazing resort

I been before in other resortes in in Cuba.. I can compare this facility . swimming pool enough safety to accommodate family with small kids. public areas and rooms it it was nice and clean, awesome place.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort

Food was good. Staff very friendly. First room was very inadequate the first night. But received better accommodation the next night. There was a shortage of towels had to request more. These were minor problems. The beach and the pool area was exceptional.
