Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Very nice

The resort is beautiful. The rooms were spacious. Everything from the rooms to the grounds, pools, beach, restaurants, common areas, rest rooms were incredibly clean and well maintained. The staff were all very polite, friendly and professional. We never felt wary or uncomfortable at any time. Food and drink were always available. We were grateful for being in a quiet part of the resort, but appreciated the option to join festivities when we wanted to. Coming from Canada, we don't know  [... read more]any Spanish and the staff knew very little English so it was often difficult to ask questions. But everyone was very eager to assist. Both staff and guests were mostly Spanish speaking so we didn't socialize with many people during our stay. The food and drink was plentiful, but the islands have a very different flavour to everything.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great vacation!

We stayed at the Grand Bahia Príncipe which is part of a complex including Bavaro, Esmerelda and some other resorts all in the same grounds. Be prepared to walk or take the trolley which passes very often on 3-4 main "roads" to get from the lobby and buffet area to the beach with stops in between for the pools or your villas. Rooms were nice and clean although not always fully re-stocked (tissue, toiletries, towels) but clean and spacious. I would have liked a snack station near to the 2 giant pools in the middle of the complex as we were drinking in the swim up bar but nothing to munch on. There is a snack bar/buffet at the "main" pools just before the beach. Those pools are always crowded and seemed less clean and peaceful for us. The kids have a fabulous water park with slides which is fantastically entertaining for the kids. The wifi is minimal (in the steamy lobby for 1 hour a day) which can be a blessing or a curse depending on your needs. Drinks were strong and yummy. I would recommend this resort and def this chain.

Riu Republica: Perfect holiday

I haven't got a negative thing to say about this location! The service and people on staff were so friendly and accommodating. Everything was as promised re: inclusive features. The food/buffets were first-class, the entertainment on the beach at noon and in the theatre in the evening were both top-drawer. Loved it. Felt sad to leave.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing Trip

This resort is very beautiful. Large grounds, good food, great beach.The staff was very friendly. Only thing is kind of difficult to book dinner reservations, they are usually booked, call and book in advance

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great hotel and stay

The hotel is a great resort to stay at, however it is very large so if you don't like walking you must wait for the trolly. Excellent hospitality and friendly staff. Defiantly would come again and recommend to others. There are many a la Carte restaurants and plenty to choose from. The buffet was not bad good variety sometimes not the greatest however. The snack bar being open and accessible at almost anytime is very convenient. Overall a great place to stay.

Riu Bambu: Riu Bambu - unforgettable stay

Cannot believe the 7-day long vacation at Riu Bambu is over. It is so beautiful that coming home makes me feel even a bit sad. The crystal blue sky, white sand beach, ocean in various blue, and the passionate music and dancing, plus of course all kinds of cocktails, wine and beer... I went there with my son and another family, the kids absolutely love it. My tips: the Pirates tour is very impressive, you must not miss this excursion! I forgot to take rubber band for my hair, while I strugg [... read more]led what to do with my hair, "Captain Jack" reached into his pocket and got me a rubber band - is he making miracle? I took the rubber band as a souvenir. Whenever I look at the the rubber band, I will think of Captain Jack. The yoga coach is amazing too. I cannot describe how much better I felt when I followed him to do a good stretch on the platform right facing the ocean! The yoga music was so soothing that I absolutely tasted the happiness deep in my heart! The food were fabulous. I would strongly recommend Steak House and Italian Restaurant for the fine dinning in the night. But please make sure you wear stylish dress or pants instead of shorts... Checking in upon arrival was not the best experience since we had to wait till almost 3:00pm whilst we arrived hotel around noon. Hope the hotel can do sth about it. Entertainment is another area which I would wish to have improvement. A magic show for example would cheer everyone, adults or kids, unfortunately we didn't have it. Hotel room is fine, but cannot understand why there is no free WiFi in the room which made us have to run to the lobby in order to use the WiFi. I would appreciate it much more if SunWing representative can send a reminding notice to each traveler regarding check out time and shuttle bus pickup time one day before the return flight... All in all, an impressive vacation that I would definitely repeat!

Occidental Caribe: Great vacation.

If we would have wi fi everytime as well, it would have been perfect. We've missed the communication with our friends from other resorts, other than that, it was a great vacation and we'll remember it.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Good vacation

I've been to Punta Cana several times and have stayed at various resorts. This resort was okay but not as good as others. The poor: The front desk service was poor. The rooms were not designed well and it was difficult to share with my travel partner. Two women need more space for their things and there was little privacy for changing/ dressing. The bathroom was run down and needed an upgrade. The good: the staff was great. Erika was a pleasant waitress at the buffet as was Emilio. Juan and Jorg [... read more]e at the Italian restaurant were also great. As was Darlin who was part of the entertainment team. The a la cartes were really good. The pool and resort grounds were beautiful.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: 3rd time in a year!!

Amazing trip! Rooms are beautiful, clean and all are located in a decent location to everything. Room tip - block 600-800 are right off the lobby. The staff at the poil bar were amazing. Special mention to Joel yossei and Manuel. Beach massages are the best. Ask for Yolanda. The trips just keep getting better. Be back soon!

Grand Palladium Palace: Excellent Resort

Everything was wonderful from the time we entered the lobby on Tues Aug 9th at lunch until the time we left on Aug 16th. All the staff were friendly and seem really interested in making sure we were having a good time. The food was wonderful and the whole resort was beautifully kept.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful resort

This resort has two sections Ambar 1 which is at beach area and is an older part, Ambar 2 which is further from the beach and is newer so therefore the rooms are a little nicer. If you stay in 2, it is a straight 8-10 minute walk to the beach or you can take one of their efficient shuttles, (not a big deal). The restaurants can be booked by email 2 weeks prior to departure. I would suggest that you do this as you can change them when there. #1 Bella Italia at Esmeralda, #2 Don Pablo, #3 Ro [... read more]dizio. Would not recommend Portofino or either Japanese rest. Breakfast and lunch foods 9/10, a little above most typical DR 5 stars. Entertainment- the usual shows everynight, fun if this is your first time seeing them. At ambar 1 they have a live entertainer 8-10:30, good for relaxing or dancing. Overall good resort!

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Great resort!!!

Vik Arena Blanka is a great resort for families.It has a great hotel, and a buffet with a variety of fresh foods and drinks. It also has a wonderful pool, however, the water in the beach wasn't the best. There was wifi in the lobby, which made that area overcrowded. It would have been better if there was more entertainment /activities especially in the afternoon.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing hotel

Good location . Verry good food no one got sick.Nice big specious rooms . Great customer service . To bad this will be all adult hotel in the near future. Polls little bit to hot not great for cooling . Kids had lots of fun as the shuttle going in to the other resorts every couple minutes , verry nice kids are with water slides .

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Good resort!

The public areas were well maintained. The pool was really good. The rooms were cleaned every day. The only weak point was that the bedsheets were not changed at least 2 or 3 times a week. The towels were changed every day.

Secrets Royal Beach: Swim up room 4170

The room was amazing. I will only do swim up room from now on! I will definitely book a Secrets or that chain again unlimited luxury is no lie. One day we ordered room service (which is included in the all-inclusive unlimited package to the room for lunch). The bartender Angel from the swim up comes around all day long and didn't leave the pool (the vicinity of our room) the whole day.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fun times

Hotel is very comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Beach is beautiful. Property is very well kept. AC in the rooms works really well, best I've experienced in an island location. Only downside is that you have to get up early to reserve chairs.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Best vacation ever

We stayed at the Gran Bahia Príncipe Punta Cana we loved and enjoyed every moment in that resort. Service, food, rooms, everything was exceptional. We definitely recommend this hotel . We would for sure come back !

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Nice Resort But Not a 5-star!

The resort's grounds are beautiful and well kept;however the rooms are outdated especially in the adult only section Ambar 1 the lobby was gorgeous but the minute we entered the room it was outdated...the bathroom was terrible(rust on mirrors , broken ceramic tiles, and not cleaned properly).We had requested 2nd or 3rd floor and they placed us in ground level floor. The rooms don't face the ocean either. We were there to celebrate our anniversary which they were aware about and we didn't get any [... read more]thing special and other rooms we noticed had something special done. The staff was nice however the staff behind counter in lobby always looked bothered and not very approachable. Food was good. The à-la-carte restaurants were good... Except the Takara(Asian) ...terrible service and food seemed like it was sitting there for a while(although we had our reservations at 9pm ..food should always be fresh). The one thing that bothered us the most was being given a privileged card and then you waste an hour of your time to go to the Esmeralda hotel where there are a bunch of salesman trying to show you the suites and everything and then very insistent on trying to sell you vacations (almost like time -sharing concept) and they are nice and everything until you have to tell them more than once you're not interested and then you notice their change of attitudes. Oh and if you want a spot on the beach ( closest to the sand where u can actually see the ocean) then you better wake up at 6 a.m to go reserve your beach chairs. It was overall ok ...would I return to this hotel? ...probably not.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: Très bien!!!

Nous avons beaucoup aimé nos vacances au Tropical Princesse!! C'était chaleureux, le personnel est très gentil et souriant!!! La nourriture est très bien et diversifiée!! Tout est à proximité et c'est très propre! La plage est belle !!c'etait parfait!!

public area was nice, food was ok. housekeeping and food staff very hard working and nice. front lobby staff terrible. rooms are old but that would be ok if they were cleaned better. too much sales pressure
