Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Decent food

Overall the resort was nice, the buffets were kept clean and people seemed to use the utinsils in a good manner. The A Le Cartes were very good except for the mass confusion of who ordered what ( we did have 9 people in our group) water and wine was topped up regularly and the food was presented well and good flavour. The housekeeping needs improvement many times they took the towels away but never gave new ones, and don’t leave your Advil out in the counter or it will disappear. Ran out of ho [... read more]t water for 3 days so cold shower it was. The Palace had lots more to do and better entertainment than the Beach hotel so most evenings were spent over there. All in all it was nice maybe a 3.8

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Rooms left to be desired

Grounds were great. Room itself had a leaky shower that soaked the bathroom floor. Toilet that ran forever. Never stocked hand towels. It was clean though. Pool was fantastic. Not so many friendly staff.

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Good hotel but where was the Premium??

We booked the most expensive room thinking we would have a nice balcony with a good sea view where we could lounge, read and tan (as we have experienced at similarly priced hotels) . Our room was the furthest from the sea with a view of the garden and pools. The balcony was small with two hardbacked dining style chairs and a small drinks table. The balcony of the floor above kept the balcony mostly in shade. We spent little time on the balcony as it was uncomfortable. We understood that there w [... read more]ere four restaurants that one could book any evening for dinner. There were only two restaurants, a sushi "restaurant" (we were advised by another guest it was poor quality and personally I rate sushi fast food not restaurant food) and the main dining room which was a very good buffet but certainly not restaurant quality. The remaining two "restaurants" located side by side were open on alternate nights and shared the same staff. Neither was great (screw top low quality wine, dishes served resembled the menu name (particularly the Italian food). We ate at the restaurants a few times but were frustrated with having to line up each afternoon to book for that evening, we were advised by reception, upon arrival, to book early as the available restaurant space ran out early. We used restaurants outside the hotel at additional cost and bother. Our room was very nice and well serviced however the air conditioning had a minimum setting of 18C, we generally sleep at a lower temperature so we had to keep the ceiling fan running and put up with the noise. The bathroom had wardrobe style doors facing onto the main room which reduced privacy and did not limit noise at all. I do not recommend spending the extra money for a premium room.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Superb location

This is a great place. We got to enjoy the beach with such a short walk. The staff are always busy working and smiling. The food was ok, we didn’t starve. We got to eat, swim and drink at the solymar and Palma real with this package. Everything is super close and central. For the price, you can’t beat it!! Book it

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Totally amazing resort

The hotel was very clean, We had a Junior suite, very large, We were two friends travelling together, so we had asked for two beds, but we got a king size bed, we asked to change rooms, but no rooms were available that night ,but they brought in a single bed, my friend took the single bed and found it to be very comfortable so we left it that way! Barcelo Maya Riviera: We will be back!

This is not our first time at the Barcelo. The restaurants, buffets, gorgeous grounds, pools, rooms, and activities are all spectacular but the biggest reason we keep coming back is the staff. The Barcelo staff are top notch and, with a smile on their faces, go out of their way to ensure every guest has a fantastic vacation. Leo her colleague took amazing care of us, so we had no worries. We also were able to stop in later to see Maru and thank her. So a big thank you to Maru and Leo! We will always come back to see you both! Other staff I'd like to highlight are Antonio from the French restaurant, he was so great, and helpful and did a birthday surprise cake for our friend. Maria Chan at the AO pool was always smiling, and happy, and had us all laughing. What a gem she is, Barcelo! We wanted to sit in her section all week. Deysi and Bredy from Rodizio were exceptional servers, and so efficient and kind. Norma and Jazmine from the AO bar were both amazing. We knew Jazmine from other years, and love to sit in her section. One night we wanted to sit out under the stars and that's when we met Norma and she took amazing care of us. Even when we weren't in Jazmine or Norma's section they still checked in with us to see if our vacation was going well and if we needed anything. Barcelo is lucky to have such caring staff. A big thank you to Sandra Villegas, Premium lounge, who took exceptional care in making us specialty coffees with latte art each morning. We loved them. Also thank you to the terrific team of, Lorenzo and Cristan in the Premium lounge, who helped us with our meals. To the staff at Barcelo, thank you again for make our stay a memorable one!

Barcelo Maya Riviera: The most beautiful resort

The room was super clean, very modern. The view from our balcony was spectacular, great view of the ocean. All the restaurants were good. Bars and drinks were all top end.We will definitely will be going back again!!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Beautiful Stay

Great from start to finish ! Room was exactly as promised, great location on the property - we did Premium Level - highly recommend - large property but, you can either choose to walk far and venture out - or stay close to your building and will still find everything you need. Food was good, lots of variety and always available - pools - SO many pools - and great grounds. Great for families and couples alike - would bring our family here for a family vacation hands down. Allegro Cozumel: great resort

Hotel is awesome. Beautiful grounds, pools and beach outstanding, excellent food, great staff, lovely accommodations. Got premium room. Access to Santa Rosa Bar fabulous. Excellent service all around. 4th visit to Allegro Cozumel. Never disappoints

Occidental Cozumel: Pictures can be deceiving!

We vacationed here as a party of 6 end of April 2023. This hotel is located and surrounded by serene, stunning gardens and forests. Ground keepers do amazing work here. Food in buffet is for the most part well done but at times hard to figure out if it's a theme or not. our group of 6 ate at 3 a la carte. Italian, Seafood, and Mexican. All a la carte venues were beautifully decorated. House wines are Spanish and are fairly good. Housekeeping was outstanding both in rooms and public areas. Biggest downside is the beach or lack thereof. Most was washed away during last few Hurricanes. So seating can be crowded at times. Pools are nice but as we are beach people we found ocean to be murky and continually stirred up by the multitude of boats speeding to pick up divers at the pro dive shop adjacent to the hotel. Perfect local for vacationing divers. Other that this issue at the beach this hotel checks almost all boxes. We made best of it and had a great stay here, this our 2nd time.

Palma Real: Great location

Cuba has always been my favorite place to visit, but after this trip I think in done. Cuba's food was never the best but always a great selection. Not this time. Always same food day in and day out. Everything else was amazing no complaints.

Occidental Punta Cana: Very nice resort!

We went to Occidental Punta Cana in mid-April 2023 through Air Transat, it was a breeze! They arranged transportation to and from the airport and were very accommodating getting you settled into your room. The room, building and grounds were very clean. Barcelo Solymar: Awesome resort

Well kept . Maid sevice very good. Staff very nice and helpful. Everyone was very friendly. Alfredo was very attentive to our needs and made us feel at home. Will definitely stay there when i take my next trip to cuba

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great vacation. Huge resort.

The grounds at this property are very well cared for. The property spans 6 hotels with many large pools and lots of restaurants. The a la cartes are very good with interesting food at each one. The room we had was musty and our clothes always felt wet. I guess that’s to be expected in a hot humid area.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing resort

The resort was excellent and we would go again in future. One thing that spoiled the holiday was the but driver that took us back to the airport took us to terminal 4, we asked him if this was correct for the Swoop airline and he said it was, it turned out that the correct terminal was #2. We and all the people on the bus had to get a minibus taxi to take us to terminal 2 (about one kilometer. There were about 12 people in the taxi, the driver charged us 80 dollars American. I think that  [... read more]the bus driver and taxi driver were operating a scam. I should also mention that the paperwork provided to us did not say which terminal we were to disembark from.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Amazing Resort!!

This was my second time at Barcelo Maya and I will be back, these resorts are amazing, clean, good food, so much to do for eveyone. I took 4 more people that had not been to Barcelo Maya, and they said it was the best place they had been to in the Mayan. No issues at all, Covid is not an issue anymore, up to you if you want to wear a mask. We stayed a week and didn't get to everything, we will be back. This was our first time flying Air Transat in many years and they were fantastic, much better [... read more] than Sunwing. We had no kids but if you do this is perfect for them, lots of activities, seperate pools, bring a floatie!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Love Love Love this place!

I have always said i would never go to the same resort twice...well i stand corrected. I would absolutely go back here again. Absolutely beautiful, so much to do, food was great, beds were comfy, staff was so friendly. The only warning i would give is that you must like to walk (which we do) because this place has soooo much to do if you are willing to take a few steps to get there. Deb

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great resort, would return

Great resort, very clean and well maintained rooms and common areas. The buffet food was actually really good in comparison to other all-inclusives I've been to in the past. There was a lot of great amenities on the resort such as snorkeling and sailing, which we enjoyed. Towards the end of our stay the seaweed that drifts up to shore was quite severe, but the resort worked hard at clearing it best they could throughout the day. I was sitting at the buffet table and the server came up and put a card in front of me to scan and stood over my shoulder telling me his name and what to write and it was rather uncomfortable. All of the front desk staff were lovely. Overall it was a great experience.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Amazing Resort!

The hotel grounds and facilities were lovely. Lots of activities on offer. Would have liked to have yoga on the beach for all sections, more drinks for diabetics (everything was sweet) but beach was amazing!
