Club Kawama: Fun vacation
Going down to Cuba to Kawama hotel was an adventure I took my cycling bike to Road right the roads are wonderful to ride on the hotel was 2 1/2 star and you do get what you pay for Being a cyclist great place to cycle we rode into Havana stay a night and came back . 125K each way good roads if you're cyclist you got to do it
Hotel Villa Cuba: Great Place to visit
We had a very large room with a bidet, go figure, and I loved it. Our bath towels were very small, as small as my hand towels in my bathroom. We loved our bed but the covers could use a good wash. The grounds were very clean, the pool was great but a wee bit cold. The food was poor, they need to train their chef to be a little more creative with the foods they have, but you will not go hungry. The drinks were good but I am not a great drinker, service was a 10, no complaints there, the staff alw [... read more]
Club Amigo Ancon: Club Amigo Ancon, Cuba
Hotel 3 stars that makes great efforts to be top. Food ok, restaurants help for the variety. Oceanview room ok but not so big. People are very very welcoming, great service. Scuba diving is great and Leo and Igor great instructors. Hector makes delicious and original cocktails. MariaElena very attentive to the clients and she offers great service either to the dining room or the lobby bar. Trinidad is a beautiful city.
Hotel Internacional: Hotel was closed 2 days prior to leaving!!!!!
Had a change to the Barceló Solymar, but I think they knew we did not book there originally, treated very badly, first four nites had a room DIRECTLY over the disco, and the following week and 1/2 were directly over the loading dock area, great diesel fumes
Hotel Villa Cuba: A Great Budget Vacation
A good three star hotel for those who are not obsessed with perfection. The rooms were clean, the food was good, and the staff were wonderful. Villa Cuba has a clean, large white sand beach with plenty of shade and shallow swimming.
Club Karey: Club Karey
for what I paid it was fine right on the beach would I go back yes, Its not for everyone but if your a down to earth person and are not looking for a fancy room then you can't beat this place as for the food well its cuba
Hotel Internacional: Cheated On
I did not like this hotel. There was really no service at all at this hotel. Rooms were never cleaned, sheets never changed, and towels never replaced with clean ones. Kitchen staff and waiters that would hit on you while you waited for your food. The prepared food was also tasteless and extremely repetitive. There was one occasion where my food had quite a long hair in it! The staff didn't seem to care that the food wasn't being cooked properly as my meat would be cold raw in places. The barte [... read more]
Club Amigo Ancon: Great Resort.
The Club Amigo Ancon Resort is very nice. The lounge is good, they gave us good room and upgraded us without charging any extra money. Over all the resort is very compact and enjoyable. The food is ok, very basic. But we have to remember it that this is 3 star. About the Gran Caribe Resort , I am very much disappointed. The main reception is nice, beach is nice, the people are very friendly. But the conditions of the rooms run down a lot. The food is average. I would not recommend any body to go [... read more]
Club Kawama: Good low cost option
My second time at Club Kawama and you get what you pay for. I upgraded to a superior room this time and it was well worth it. Room 2602 with a small terrace facing the ocean. The food is not great but I could always find something to eat. The beach is wonderful and the pools are clean. The staff are friendly and really try to make your stay great. The security guards presented me with small flowers, etc made of Palm fronds. A nice touch. I took an excursion to Havana for the day and enjoyed it i [... read more]
Hotel Internacional: not bad
Example: What did you think about Hotel is too old. It needs renovation or demolish and rebuild. Location is fantastic, close to the Beach and Varadero city. Food could be improved eg choices of free salt foods for older people that do not eat food with salt.
Roc Barlovento: Good resort
Resort was old but clean, pools were very nice, beach was beautiful.. Rooms are older but clean had hot water all the time.. Staff was very friendly.. Food was not bad for Cuba.. Had a great time and for the price was great!
Roc Barlovento: Cheap and cheerful
This is an older resort and a little outdated to say the least. The reception staff need to be more pleasant and welcoming if not at least helpful. Having said that all other staff were wonderful. The place is spotless... the resort is smaller which I particularly liked.
Roc Barlovento: Great Staff
Staff was super nice, wish I could say the same for the management. Manager was cold and didn't engage much with his clients. Food was really good. Lacked in entertainment during the day.. Hardly saw the animation team at all only at the shows at night. Rooms were clean but run down. All in all it was a great vacation because we made it one.
Hotel Internacional: Great Beach!!
My husband went to this hotel 20 years ago. The beach is beautiful and it is walk to Varadero is short. The rooms are run down (some people were complaining of mould). The food was ok but repetitive compared to 4or5 star hotels that we have stayed at in Cuba. Overall if you are there for the beach-this is the best but if you want good variety of food- go to a higher rated hotel.
Roc Barlovento: Not a 5* paradise, but a fair 3.5* resort :)
My husband and I visited this resort from December 27th 2014 to January 3rd 2015. We enjoyed our stay and did not have any major complaints. That being said, we came in with no great expectations, which helped us to not be disappointed when things were not always perfect... If you go in expecting a 5* experience, you will, undoubtedly, be disappointed. If you come in expecting a well-maintained, average 3-3.5* resort, you should be satisfied and pleased with things, overall. The best assets of t [... read more]
Club Kawama: Not bad
We were basictly their for the sun, beach and sand. What need to be change is the beds they were horrible to sleep on and the beach at lease pass the tractor to clean up all the broken shells the disco on the resort was NOT good as they need to also get rid of the mould the smell and play more upgraded music :) other then that like i said we were their more for the sun beach and sand
Club Kawama: Good Resort
Nice clean place. We enjoyed our stay. The food was quite good. Only disappointing thing was the disco. It stank of dampness and mould. None of the guests seemed to know where it was and as a result no one went even though it was open each evening. It should be aired out and publicized so that guests can go. Not enough night life at this resort.
Hotel Villa Cuba: Villa Cuba
This is a beautiful resort, inside and out. The staff are friendly and accommodating. This was our 2nd time here. Only a few things we would like to see improved. In the buffet restaurant, the set up needs to be better: plates in a separate area and meat in a separate station. Trying to get into the a la carte restaurants was ridiculous. Why offer a la carte if you can't get a reservation? Lastly, control your guests! Many guests, mostly youth, were loud, rude, not properly dressed, eating and d [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: Resort not bad, there's nice beech and locations.
Hotel can be batter even for Cuba. Food very simple and every day the same one. Drinks are cheeper. Thay try to clean the room, but never wash the floor. A lots of moscitos! !!!!! Animation - thay just had animation.
Club Kawama: Ok if you want cheap
The place itself was ideally located. It was close to town and you could walk or hop on the bus. The food was bland and not received well by my party of 15. We ended up eating off the resort a few times because of this. Unlike Cayo Coco the staff were not very friendly. In fact it seemed like they were inpartial to getting a tip. Could that mean that we trip in general tip too much. For example when we arrived at the hotel we had not exchanged our Canadian currency. I gave the porter a toonie an [... read more]
