Paradisus Rio De Oro: Far from 5-Star

Grounds could be maintained much better .Rooms luxurious but many small things required repair , door handles etc. No alarm clock or USB ports for phone charging. Food was terrible, not much selection or variety. Staff not adequately trained in allergens, like gluten-free requirements. Having a gluten allergy, I was frequently brought meals that had wheat products despite being reassured prior to ordering that it would be prepared gluten free. Beaches and pools were beautiful and bartenders were welcoming and served well , drink selection was limited and bar staff had limited ability to make many drinks. Overall I would not recommend

Melia Cayo Coco: FRIENDLY AND RELAXING

Such a clean and welcoming resort! The people are amazing and will bend over backwards to make ones vacation great! Nice entertainment and the view of the ocean from the sandy beach WOW! This is the location you'll enjoy if you're looking to relax for sure. Met a lot of people that continue to return and love it! Would say more of a 50+ spot!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Cuba Resort

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Hotel was a little dated but clean. The grounds around hotel had a lot of palms laying on the ground and sometimes garbage bins were overflowing and needed to be emptied more frequent. We had two days with cold water but it was fixed afterwards. Restaurants were good and food was decent. Entertainment was varied and good even though resort was only operating at low capacity. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: not a 5 star

6 of us went in October 2023 and the grounds were nice and the pools were clean. The rooms were not as promised in the website. There was no coffee maker in the room there was no soda or beer in the fridge either. Our room didn't even have a dresser to put our clothes in so we lived out of our suitcases all week which was very disappointing. The shower head holder was pointed at the opposite wall and spayed water all over the place. The food was good (what there was of it) we were told they were at 1/3 capacity so all 300ish people were eating at this super small buffet that turned into an a la carte at night with 3 options to choose from. They ran out of cola OFTEN as well. The staff was very friendly. If you go to the Japanese restaurant I hope you get Raphael as your chef he was amazing and the food was great!! I am not sure that we would go back to this resort.

Melia Cayo Coco: Relaxing Resort

Rooms are a bit dated but very clean,the gardens are kept beautiful by the none stop gardeners. The beach is fantastic and great to walk on, all the staff are so friendly and attentive to all your needs,they go all out to make sure you enjoy your vacation. The bars are well stocked and have very well trained staff. Food is like all resorts, good variety, something for everyone but don’t be fussy, great service from the staff.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice resort

The hotel itself is nice. Our room had no hot water. Constantly running out of Pop ! No pop or beer in our room. Only 1 day when we mentioned it to the manager. Because the resort wasn't up to capacity the main buffet was closed. The buffet they used was small. Not much fresh fruit or veggies. The Japanese Ala carter was awesome. They do cater to those who are celiac. You just have to let them know!

Melia Las Americas: Great Resort

We enjoyed our Stay at Melia Las Americas. Food is excellent, service is really good and rooms are very clean. We were upgraded to their Level Area which includes a private pool, beach, bar & breakfast. A la Carte restaurants are excellent and we enjoyed them except for one. For Golfers - this is a great resort walking distance to the golf course. We suggest booking your tee times ahead of time - Golf course has a great layout & has it’s own challenges. Melia Jardines del Rey: 7th trip there.

Ok, so the beach was fabulous as always, and the pool is sparkling clean again, pool bar staff as always fantastic as was beach bar. Some hiccups with the food but manageable. Groundskeepers continue to do a great job and the room was fine. Most of the staff were great but there are a couple of attitude issues that management should address. Lobby bar and 24/7. Just saying. Will I go back? Maybe, might try the neighbor.

Melia Cayo Coco: Great Resort

Beautiful resort ! Amazing beach and the friendliest staff ever! The rooms were comfortable and clean. The food was basic with noticeable missing items from certain food groups. But we made the best of it and did not go hungry at all & never missed a meal. The staff was very friendly and happy. Loved it!

Melia Marina Varadero: Nice, but...

Let me start with the good part. The room was bright and spacious and overlooked the pool and sea! Great! Food was OK. But... there were quite a few shortcomings which I will list here with the hope that the management will improve sooner rather than later considering a hotel of this calibre. The mini-bar fridge only had one beer - no soft drinks (pop) at all anywhere in the hotel. Management and standards should be improved. I do understand that the economy is bad and tourism scarce, but with so many hotels along the coast one has to do better to entice tourists now that the peak season is starting. Also, most staff do not speak English. How do you expect tourists to be taken care of properly? Thank God for Google Translate! Housekeeping and restaurant staff were pretty nice.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Wonderful place

My husband and I went to the Paradisus to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We have been to many other places around Cuba over the years but I didn't know what I was missing. This place was just better that others. Staff extremely happy and helpful. Food plentiful, eggs, bacon, fries, pasta, chicken, desserts, great soups, juices, fruit, salads, fish etc, were all plentiful. The grounds were exceptional. Thankyou you to all the staff at Melia cayo coca every area was great staff food rooms and best beach it is and older crowd that goes there was perfect for me and only 15 minutes from the airport will be returning next June thank you Melia

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort

The hotel is very well maintained with lovely landscaping and great pool area. The rooms are roomy with good housekeeping daily. We found the staff to be very friendly and always ready to accommodate your needs. The beach is beautiful and cleaned daily.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: 3* hotel

Horrible service and food, 5* star beach and ocean. Wouldn’t consider this resort for the future trips. The buffet been closed every two days. If you don’t make a reservation afternoon before 2pm - you fcuked

Melia Peninsula Varadero: 7 day stay

Nice grounds, Beautiful beaches, Not bad pool, WiFi was adequate Friendly staff, Maintenance was satisfactory, Meals were repetitive but fine, Not enough activities, Enjoyable evening entertainment, 3/5

We  enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. We also ensured to manage our expectations: it's Cuba, it might be some shortage, some hiccups, but it's wonderful best in the world beaches, great nice people and lower cost. Food was ok, at the beginning of our stay, but after a couple of days it was really good. I spoke to a rep in the lobby and by the time we came to our room, everything was fixed (took about 5 minutes).Beach is great! They have a lagoon type of thing just a bit on a side,  it's very nice to walk there. There are lot of fish in the water everywhere, you just need to put goggles on and put yr face into water. Only one pool was working when we were there (Cuba, we expected something might not be available:-) ). It was personally a bit too loudly there for us, so we came there just couple times. Nice clean pool, it has few sections with different depth from 40 cm to 155 cm..They were doing a lot of renovation, and that was a reason why the second pool was not open. For a week we stayed they painted umbrellas near the pool, renovated little bridges to the beach. They were making a barbecue area, pretty excited to come again and see the results.:-)Entertainment was good: dance show, songs, dancing fun with guests, they also played volleyball on the beach. It's not far from the airport, just about 20 minutes ride, tourist area, so even going thru customs is not a bad experience. Everybody is nice and smiling Few thing which bittered our stay: mosquitoes and some rocky spots on the beach.  Both things are seasonal, they did a great job though of spraying something to kill mosquitoes, we even enjoyed watching a small plane doing it from  air (quite entertaining )We had plenty of repellent (strong recommendation bring few with you!) , we also had water shoes, definitely helped too.

Melia Las Dunas: Amazing vacation

This hotel is amazing, it was my third time here as I knew what to expect and was going with my daughter and sisters for there first time.. they loved it ! The hotel is very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful! I found the food to be amazing there was something for even the pickiest of eaters! The beach and pool are both amazing and the staff is always trying to keep you busy! The only thing better is if all the a la cartes would have been open, but the buffet was excellent! Paradisus Rio De Oro: Best in Cuba

My second time to this hotel , and it keeps getting better and better! The staff are second to none …… i didn’t encounter one unhappy , or unaccommodating staff member my whole stay …… special thanks to Marisol in the pool restaurant ❤️ ……. The grounds are are as beautiful as you’ll ever see …… even though Cuba is still rebounding , the food ( and rum of course ) is very good …… I love to experience different places , yet I will return yearly ……. Melia Cayo Coco: Very nice resort

Quiet, pleasant stay . The resort is very clean and the employees are incredibly gracious. Food is pretty good for Cuba, especially considering the shortages. Good selection of drinks with slight shortages near the end of the week but bar staff do their best to make it work. Bring mosquito repellent as it’s next to a lagoon.Overall would return if the price was reasonable.
