Carisol los Corales: Fantastic location

The grounds were well groomed and clean of any debree. The staff where amazing. Very friendly and helpful. They always had a smile on the face. As for the night shows, don't waste your time, there were a big yawn. Location was great. Put your walking shoes on and hit the flea markets and restaurants. Just steps outside the door. Some fresh paint on the exterior of the buildings would make this resort feel like a 5 star. The quality of the good in the buffet was 4 star but as for the snack bars,  [... read more]stay away. Long wait times and u will b very disappointed with the quality. There really was not activitie crews for games and dancing so u will have to entertain yourself. Overall I would recommend this hotel as a 3 star . If u want great location and a reasonable price, go ahead and book now. Happy travels.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: It was amazing resort

It was better hotel than we thought it was big place excellent service room was great ( food meat wise not so good lots of time meat uncooked and mixing up pork everywhere not good at all.) Other than that all ok but one thing I would like to ask you when the returning flight so late at night checked out from hotel should be at least at 3pm not 12 noon thanks.

Just be careful what type of room you book. The bungalows or villas are definitely better than some of the other room types. The food was good, always found something to eat. Pools and bars were good.

We were at the resort for2 weeks had a great time we were repeat guests staff were very nice and a pleasure to be with rooms in the tropical area need some updating however we will be back I will be back for sure with friends swimming up bar was super and the staff!

Upon arrival everything looked great! We really enjoyed our stay although we were very disappointed that the extras we paid for, we were not able to have. We upgraded our room for the extras big disappointment and waste of money.

This was our 3rd year to this resort we love it and the staff are amazing... it's our home away from home.. the weather is beautiful and the beach is stunning!! No pressure to give to the locals and they are so helpful we love it

Carisol los Corales: Great holiday!!

Weather was amazing. Beautiful big pool but the bottom liner was ripped in areas and you had to tread carefully. Beach is very rocky, water shoes needed. Excellent for snorkeling - lots of coral reefs. A lot of dogs at this resort (bring dog treats if going here). Staff especially the bar staff were great! Rooms were clean and the washrooms recently renovated and nice and big with lots of hot water. The food was very disappointing but the Cuban a la carte was good. Carisol los Corales: Not bad for the money.

The resort and the food were ok. This was our first time to Cuba. We went in knowing what to expect. The Cuban residents were very friendly. The weather and shore snorkeling was amazing. The water was so warm. Arriving and departing from the airport was a breeze. I would only recommend this resort to someone that has a limited budget.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great Beaches and Wonderful People

I am single and was travelling with friends who are a couple. I felt safe on the resort at all times. The rooms have some peeling paint but they were clean and comfortable and who spends time in the rooms anyway? The beach was beautiful, the pools were great, service was wonderful all around. The food was good great poutine at the snack bar by the square pool and great breakfast ar the 24 hour snack bar. The resort was very nice. The beaches were stunning, easy access, clean and there were enough chairs for everyone. There is a beautiful walkway for a great walk along the beach. The resort grounds were well kept and clean. The staff was always cleaning, planting new plants or repairing. The pools were a little clouding, but no chlorine used so you didn't smell like a bottle of bleach when you left the pool. The pools were cleaned every morning. We ate there twice, once buffet and once ala carte, the staff was younger there and did not want to anything but stand around in the buffet area and the ala carte brought us dessert before we got our meal. To bad because the bungalow staff was brilliant. The rooms although not fancy were very clean and spacious, stayed in the bungalows. The food was excellent. If you are looking for pefab North American food, maybe go to Florida. The food is fresh and home made. The bread and ice cream are to die for and its been a long time since I have eaten a tomato with some flavour. The entertainment was also fun. Get a massage and take the horse and buggy ride, both very inexpensive and worth every penny.

Really nice beaches, large and spread out facilities with all kind of variety for food and drinks. Super friendly staff and good service. Nightly entertainment was way above any expectations and a nice mix of people. Food was good with lots of options. Not a huge change in the daily offerings though. Transport to and from airport was super easy.

The grounds were well kept, pools were nice, beaches were beautiful! The food was average. L'Espada was the best A La Carte. Rooms were outdated but clean. There is a great market just beside the resort.

The hotel was great the people who worked on the resort were wonderful as always!! Been to this resort 5 times now and its always great to go back Couldn't ask for anything more!! Even going off the resort in which I recommend , the people are Great! so very friendly, Always welcome you into the homes offer food if they have it or a drink

Carisol los Corales: Northern Coast is Better

Check in was smooth but only one key available for the room. The room was clean and the maid service was excellent. Ours was the only room without a door handle only a deadbolt that had to be locked from either side so the one key issue was a pain the patio door didn't have a lock or handle and was kept closed with a stick!!! The air conditioner worked well but we had to stuff toilet paper around the unit to keep the bugs out which wasn't much help as the vent in the bathroom went into an open u [... read more]tility closet beside our room. Take sandals or beach shoes with you as the beach area is full of coral and very hard to walk on, the water here is full of coral so we didn't swim as much as we like.The buffet was a horror, exact same food every day for a week,scavenger hunt after you grab a table for cutlery but the birds bugs and moths don't seem to mind. The saving grace was Francisco at the pool bar although we aren't pool people he was entertaining and all around great to be with. Be careful as the place is a walking death trap, open holes and broken tiles everywhere. This is the only trip we have been on where people came back on the plane in casts.This is the only trip my wife has been on where she feels financially assaulted.

I have stayed at this hotel a total of 10 times, enjoy it every visit. Excellent value for what you pay, went last minute for $584 pp. txs incl. Large resort with lots of options for eating, drinking. Beach is busy. Rooms adequate.

Rooms were disgusting, front rest not attentive. Repetitive food but lots of variety. Unfriendly staff. Was supposed to get a free upgrade with proof of marriage certificate but they charged us. Not a resort to go on a budget.

Carisol los Corales: laid back resort

When we pulled up to the hotel I was mortified!! Was not at all like the pictures. Our rooms were missing towel racks,,our doors were cracked,,the patio door had no locks,,the sewer smell in our room was unbearable,, shower heads were not attached etc when we were moved across to upstairs rooms in another building it was totally different. Starfish Varadero: Great experience!

The hotel and the surrounding grounds (caves and ecological reserve) and beach were comfortable, clean, and accommodating. The beach area was a perfect area to relax, tan, and swim. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. The proximity to the city of Varadero, other resorts, the caves and ecological reserve was close and conveniently accessible.
